The My Medicash App makes it quick and easy to claim money back on your everyday healthcare costs as well as providing instant access to all other benefits of your healthcare plan. 
* Quickly make a claim directly through the app – simply upload a picture of your receipt and answer a few quick questions 
* Add your bank details and sign-up for email updates so you know when your claim has been paid 
* View a summary of your recent claims and view your benefit table so you know what you have left 
* Add your dependent children to your policy so they too are covered 
* Quickly access the other benefits of your health plan such as Virtual GP appointments, Discounted Gym Membership, Stress Helpline, Extras shopping discounts, mProve YOURSELF, SkinVision and Phio (if included on your plan) 
Please note, this app is only available to Medicash policyholders who will need their current policy number in order to register. Partners who are covered by the policy will need to register separately within your app, or on their own device, in order to access their details and submit a claim.

Can’t make a claim on iPad

On the new iPad version, the all-important button to make a claim is completely missing (along with other home-page buttons), so it’s impossible or unclear how to make a claim. Everything is present and correct on the iPhone version, however, so I was able to use that on my phone instead. The phone version seemed to work fine.

Didn’t have any issues with the previous app. With the new app: have to log in repeatedly, login is slow, can’t see how to change from PIN to biometric login, there’s animation that’s positioned where it gets in the way of scrolling to key information (and moving images makes it harder for me to read text).

Update awful

New updates have rendered the app practically unusable, I can’t see how much I have used for claims, my policy documents just error out and it takes 5 attempts just to get to my area of the app where I can lodge a claim. Pointless. I’ve had to use their website instead!!!!

Grifters

Bunch of grifters that make you jump through hoops to make a claim. Originally in the app it has a set requirement list which i met, however you will get declined over and over again as they keep adding hurdles to get your money back. This is just another insurance scam.

Unable to book kids appointment

The app keeps booking appointments under parents name despite selecting the kids name during appointment booking. This started happening after the recent app upgrade. I am unable to see digital GP for my kid due to these issues!!!

Can’t login

Last update is broken

I tried to login to submit a claim and am now getting a bunch of error messages about “failed to load home buttons” which I can click through and “error fetching child benefits” which blocks me from doing anything else.

Usability could be better

Difficult to select names with one finger etc on receipts. The left and right arrows are often where you need to select a value which makes it impossible as the image then goes left or right.

Good in principal but often takes many attempts to claim or requires call centre help

Medicash is Good in principal but often takes many attempts to claim. The app is very basic and often you lose days or weeks messing about processing a claim. Feels quite off putting and looks a little cynical because you only really receive 1-2 receipt types so if feels a little odd that they are never quite what is required. This has happened at least 5 times with different practitioners so it is not a one-off.

Not clear what’s acceptable for receipts, wanted all the information on one photograph, but when I called up, I could upload 4 photos, I just needed to press review, first claim denied, was not able to just change my photos I needed to start a new claim, then when submitted was told I already had a claim for that treatment and that date! Easier to use email.

I used Medicash for two years, I used it mostly for getting discounts at the extra part, it was great till it doubled up in price, but rewards are still the same. I will be cancelling from my next term.

Frustrating

I have paid for medicash for 2 years & this is the 2nd time I’ve tried to make a claim and it’s so frustrating… all of the information is clear yet it says it’s not. Hopefully when it’s manually reviewed it will be processed. I gave up with my last claim, so will be cancelling if this isn’t processed.

Asking for email address, after I enter it, the screen kept showing error=-3, code=500. Finally, the claim has been submitted. However, it didn’t show at my usage. I can’t confirm whether the claim has been submitted successfully.

I has signed up Medicash for nearly a year through work and their system is good and all information is clear. I have the app which is very easy to use. I claimed some money back from my optition and I did not have to wait for long. Will continuously using Medicash in the future.

Poor UX

Very rudimentary UX.
Tried to submit a claim and got a non-specific error about file size not matching count (??). No ability to edit the claim. Restarted the app, and no record of my previous claim. Submitted with the same file and it was fine this time but, although I received an email confirmation, still no record of my claim. Also no ability to attach more than one file, which is useless. My payment receipt doesn’t supply enough detail and so need to attach online order form to give more information.

Unable to view & understand remaining allowances & view dependants usage & allowances

1. There is no way to view my Usage with Live Data - Usage is only 'Accepted and paid claims', none that are in any 'Submitted and Pending Status' nor Submitted & correct' Submitted & Incorrect' - these topics are not stated anywhere.
2. There is no way to view my dependants' Usage
3. There is no way to view what has been submitted ( whilst is hasn’t been approved/in pending status ) to check that you have done ( correctly or incorrectly ) I do a recording of my uploads and save to show the staff what I have done.
4. There is no way to reply to an email stating what the error in a claim is - and you have to resubmit all claim details again per claim and join the back of the queue - you cannot verify if what has been resubmitted is correct.
I have been told various times to submit a claim via the app and then to follow it up with a call - rendering the point of an upload in the app, useless.
I was also told to send my claim with paper printout by post to 'make sure' my claim has been submitted.
Please invest in a BA or an APP tester - of which I am both!

Wonderful cover

Medicash is so quick and straightforward to use, I would normally be reluctant to get any money back from things as I would be put off with the process, but Medicash gives me zero trouble, just upload a picture and your sorted.

Not a fun user experience

When uploading evidence for a PMI excess claim I had the following issues:
- There’s a button to upload a pdf document but this doesn’t work, it can’t be pressed. This forced me to upload a patchwork of pictures from the actual digital pdf I had.
- When the pictures are uploaded, if the pictures are in landscape then they seem to be cut off outside of the portrait view.
- The OCR used can’t pull the details out of the images. This could be because you are forced to screenshot the document so the images are poor quality.
- When you select ‘amend details’ at the end of the flow, it takes you right back to the start and deletes all of the information you have entered.

Easy to use

This app is quick and easy to use. You upload a photo of your receipt for you claim after answering a few questions and job’s done. If you claim is successful then the money goes directly into your bank a few days later. You get an email notification telling you the outcome so you’re not left in the dark as to the result.

Great service

Medicash has been a great benefit to have from my employer. I’ve made a couple of claims over the last 2 years, both have been paid out fast and fairly. Any communication has been very prompt and courteous. Very easy claims process and the information required is clearly explained before you submit the claim! Overall a great experience.

Upload error

My first claim and the upload functionality kept erroring. It didn’t appear to like 2 separate documents being loaded but the app wasn’t clear so had to keep deleting and starting again.

Urgently Demanding a Modern Makeover

Admittedly, the Medicash app delivers on its core functionality, but it is in dire need of an extensive revamp. From the moment you launch the app, you're greeted by a clunky and visually unappealing user interface that's reminiscent of a bygone era in app design.
Upon setting up the app, I opted to use Face ID for convenience and security, but the app has consistently reverted to the less desirable PIN authentication method. This disappointing inconsistency undermines the user experience and creates unnecessary friction.
Furthermore, the app icon is a serious eyesore that does little justice to the sleek aesthetics of the iPhone. With a chaotic and overly busy design, the icon leaves much to be desired and could certainly benefit from a more refined and modern approach.
In conclusion, while the Medicash app succeeds in accomplishing its fundamental purpose, it is in desperate need of a comprehensive overhaul. By addressing these glaring issues, the developers could elevate the app to match the high standards that users have come to expect in today's app market.

The App is straightforward and quick to use on my mobile phone. However, the direction to ‘Take a photo’ did not link me to the iPhone camera so I had to come out of the app to take a photo of the receipt then redid the claim.
However, the ‘ upload photo ‘ direction did link me to my photo library and I easily uploaded the (receipt) photo into my claim.
Maybe I’m at fault ?

Claim via app on smartphone

Have just downloaded app and submitted a claim. It was very straight forward and easy. Answered a few questions and took a photo of my receipt. Job done! Says it will take 2-3 days to process. Previous postal claims have always been paid promptly so when they say 2-3 days I believe them.

Frustrating and repetitive

After entering all the required information the app stated that certain information was missing - it wasn’t but I re-entered it
I then had to enter date and amount of claim again.
It then states that other information is missing- despite having now entered it TWICE , and then again re enter date and amount
You guessed it - exactly the same thing happened a THIRD TIME
Eventually and hopefully it worked , or appears to have worked -
I fully expect someone to contact me and say that they don’t have all the required details

Difficulty with taking photographs of long receipt

I had difficulty taking photographs of my receipt from Specsavers. The app just kept on saying it didn’t have information required. The app didn’t make it clear I could take 3 photographs of the receipt. It was just trial and error.

Excellent service on line, but systems need updating

Staff have always been excellent on the phone and mostly the claim on line procedure is good, but the last two claims (1. for seeing a consultant and 2. the dentist) would not be sent, despite it saying the cost, the date and my name were on the receipt. For the Consultant, the receipt was not accepted as it did not say consultation? What else was he there for? Also the x Ray on the same day was subject to them stopping the claim at first?

First time claimant

It’s not easy to follow the instructions on screen and David was far from clear in explaining the process to me on the phone. He led me to believe that I had to make three separate claims, when the process allows for several claims in one submission. Equally, the on-screen instructions are confusing regarding submitting photographs/ -whether to send another photo or a different photo. But I struggled on and got there in the end. It did take about 45 minutes, though. I shall be quicker next time- I hope.

So difficult to use

Would love to say making a claim was simple but after numerous photos of the receipt and being told they couldn’t see my details and stupid tips like if it’s a long receipt take multiple close up photos and then being told that this is no good because they can’t see all the details at once then you are stuck in an impossible loop of not being able to do either option. Really don’t understand why it’s so difficult.

Gone backwards

Was a decent app, able to point to the locations of the images containing necessary information for claim submission. Now.. with automation, it’s a PIA. Doesn’t recognise anything despite the images being uploaded in the same manner I have been for the past few years. As the saying goes.. if it’s not broken don’t change it. No need for auto scanning of information if it isn’t going to recognise a clear photo.

Simple claim system. Quick and efficient.

I’ve been with Medicash for a long time, I would say it’s over 35 years, and never have I experienced an issue with a claim, now that it’s all connected to an app it’s even easier to make a claim. Well done Medicash for devising such a simple way to make a claim, if only all companies had the ability to simplify a system like yours, from a 73 year old with no technical experience of computers x😁

Great App BUT…

The app used to be really easy to photograph and upload receipts to make a claim. It’s now been updated so if it can’t automatically read your invoice it gives you an error message 3 times before you can manually upload it. I can’t see a way to add more than one invoice when done this way either which is frustrating because most of the required information is split over an invoice and a receipt. Please go back to how it was before!

Ok but missing some basic features

When submitting a claim I am unable to upload multiple images / pdfs of the receipt.
Also there is no way of seeing / amending any claims you have submitted and are still waiting approval on - I think this is a bit of a flaw.
I received an invoice but it was missing some of the necessary information so I took a screenshot of the confirmation which has more details however I am unable to upload them both to the app’

Photo recognition doesn’t see all info

The photo recognition is great but when it doesn’t recognise things there isn’t an option to help it out - it just doesn’t allow you to submit :-(. Very difficult to submit a claim in this situation:-(

Using digital claim

This is normally very straight forward, but a couple of times when uploading photo of receipt it says cannot see certain lines, which are clearly on photo, so slightly frustrating. Other than that this app is very useful.

Never had a problem before the photo was automated so a robot read the information. Had to take three pictures before it would accept it and there is no way to directly upload a PDF on my phone it wasn’t broken having someone look at them so don’t try and fix it with a robot that doesn’t work

A good benefit however app not 100 percent

This is a decent app however uploading photos is awkward as it seems to like an invoice which has the date/treatment cost all in the same place. My dentist bill has the Info all over the place so I’m unsure if I’ve got a successful claim or not. The area you tap to include all details should be larger - it is too small. Thanks for reading

Although the photo was able to capture all of the receipt when trying to circle the individual details ie providers name and address, date and value, the top and bottom of the receipt was covered by the instruction boxes therefore I had to submit the claim in 3 separate photos

Pretty good

Makes the job of making a claim very easy.
In January 2021 I tried for three week to open the iPad app. On every occasion it said the server was busy , try again later. I did check that the app was up to date, and it was.
Eventually I deleted the app and re-installed it. This solved the problem.

Claim submission

The request to put tap various items on the invoice doesn’t work properly because you only get one tap per request and, for example, the name of the dentist and the practise address are in different places not covered by a single circle, and the dates and cost of the treatment are also in different places and cannot be covered with a single tap.

Really difficult to use

I’ve not managed to make a successful claim yet- it’s really difficult to select the areas required (eg name and address of provider). It would be much easier just to attach photographs of the receipts rather than having to select individual areas of the receipt too. Not very user friendly at all!

Not for technophobes

Today I tried to make a claim using this new app (I had previously requested a claim form but was told I had to download this app). I found it difficult to upload my photos of receipt and found it difficult to proceed ... I wasn’t sure if the app had frozen or I was doing something wrong ( probably the latter). Anyway almost an hour later I think I’ve managed to make my claim - who knows - I hope to receive some sort of acknowledgement. I haven’t been asked for my bank details which seemed strange. I have made claims before but my bank details may have changed since then? Please medicash - allow us technophobes to use claim forms in future

Loving it!

Very intuitive and easy to use. Quick to add details and works very smooth. Made my first claim in a matter of minutes!
Only thing they could improve is how to select the details in the images. For example, sometimes the name and address of the service are separate on the invoice... other than that a great app!

Poor & Unclear

The app whilst it works is poorly thought out, after you start adding an email address Apple gives you auto fill suggestions but when you select one the app appends this to the characters you have already entered rather than replacing them. Clicking back into the field is also difficult. The address requires a city but cities only exist in some counties where there is a cathedral. The claims process from the point a photo is taken is not very intuitive. And you seem to have we to add a lot of things twice.

Doesn’t work for me

I have an Apple iPad mini, a very new one with the latest software (October 2020).
The app installed OK and I was able to set up an account, but when I tried to log in it said “You have maxed out on the number of log in attempts, log in with your pin”
This was the first attempt!
Click ‘OK’, which is the only option, and you ate back to the first screen. There is no way to enter a pin.
I tried dozens of times but couldn't log in. I closed exited) the app and restarted, always the same, I can’t use it. Very frustrating....
I uninstalled, reinstalled and re-entered all my details.
This time I turned off the touch ID function and was able to log in with a pin. First receipt I tried to enter is came up with an error “you have not said ‘yes’ to all the questions”.
What questions???
It then stuck, no option to click anything, no way to go back or start again.
An hour of my life wasted and the app is now permanently uninstalled.
Seems the app is either incompatible with up to date iPads or is full of bugs.

No claim tracking

I agree with some other people on here that there’s no way to track your claim, that seems a little pointless. It’s a good app but could be better if you had this setup to provide phone notifications when the claim changes statuses along with visibility within the app.

Not fit for purpose!

Each time I try to submit a claim I have to follow it up with emails or phone calls because for some reason the details I highlight on my receipt never seem to be clear or don’t get read and understood. Why have an app if it doesn’t work and just actually prolongs and complicates the process?! FRUSTRATING,!!! And now, apparently even the most ridiculous “nicknames” are taken so I can’t submit this review!!

Claims made simple

I am fortunate to have Medicash provided as a workplace benefit. I rarely use the App and so am not familiar with it in the way that one would be familiar with an app that is used regularly.
I had to make a claim today. The app is intuitive and really easy to use.
I was able to make and submit my claim within approx. 3 minutes. Really simple and stress free.
Help text guides you through the process and an acknowledgment is given once the claim is submitted.
I would add that about a year ago Ai had reason to call Medicash. I was able to speak to someone in person who was able to answer all of my queries immediately.
My experience is positive. This is a great benefit and a good organisation.

They’ve put a lot of work into making this terrible

Instead of using standard text entry boxes, they seem to have made their own. They do not work correctly at all.
Somebody has gone to a lot of trouble to make something way worse than using the built-in controls.

Tapping is not always accurate

It is not always possible to include both date and amount with one tap of the finger. Sometimes they are far apart. Also when you Take a photo of the page and then asks for, say the name and details of the consultant, it does not always show it. So you have to start again. Needs improvement.

Submission of receipts hasn’t been thought through

App seems great, aside from the part when submitting receipts. Rather than just asking you to highlight each piece of detail, it groups details...so if the details aren’t grouped together on the receipt you can’t do it.
For example, it asks you to highlight the area which shows the amount you paid and the date of treatment, these two pieces of information on my receipt were at opposite ends. You can it highlight more than one area. So in essence, I’m unable to complete their request.
Aside from that, the app seemed quite good.

Using the on line claim for the first time.

As a fairly proficient iPad user, I have to say that I found your web site difficult to use. I am using it as I have had two claims sent by post go missing. The last one I sent I had to use the facility to ask for a signature on receipt. I have been a member of Medicash since some time in the 1980’,s and I have never had a problem with your service until this year.

Can’t even set up an account due to maintenance

I’ve been waiting several days to set up an account but keep getting an error message saying you’re doing maintenance so no new accounts can sign up. When is this going to be fixed? It’s extremely irritating not being able to access anything.

New App not user friendly

Being required to tap the name and qualifications of the practitioner, their address, the name and address of patient, the cost and date is extremely difficult as many invoices have a layout with these in separate places. Much preferred the older version - it was logical and easy to use as we were only asked to confirm whether these items were visible.

Easy to use app

Easy to understand and use. Saves time and money completing paper claim forms. Useful links and history of usage. Individual claim history would be useful if you’ve forgotten which receipt you’ve claimed. Otherwise, brilliant app and does exactly what I need! Thank you.

App needs improving

The app itself is ok, however when you submit a claim, there is nothing showing that you have submitted it. It would be helpful if you had a Pending Claim section, to show that it has been logged. I have ended up emailing medicash and calling to chase up my claim and the girl I spoke to said the app only shows your claim once it has been approved and paid?! Which could take well over a week to do.
Definite improvement required to make it more user friendly.

Registration

I found it difficult to register because the screen kept saying I had not answered ‘yes’ to all the questions. In the end I put two photos in and then deleted one and it all worked well on the fourth attempt.
I am now going to try to register my wife on my account. Wish me luck!

The app is easy to use, however, if you don’t tap or circle the correct information initially it’s a nightmare & you have to start again.
I actually thought using the app would make your claim quicker, unfortunately, I still waited a week for payment which was incorrect, therefore, will have to now make a telephone call.

Useless

This is useless -keeps asking for date and amount which has been circled already - this needs sorting out. Can the people who deal with these claims not read the letter that has been photographed? don’t get why you have to circle relevant details when it’s in the receipt - I’ve just wasted half an hour of my life I will not get back trying to submit my claim via this rubbish app !!

Useless mess of an app

Absolute horrendous app. Tried multiple times to submit a claim through the app. Asks you to select certain elements on receipt images but half the image is obscured by UI elements and zooming and panning doesn’t work properly.
Exits the app and opens the web browser to submit payment details for a claim, why not in the app???? Even a simple in-app web-view would suffice. Might as well have the whole process on the website.
After payment details submitted on website nothing happens and claim never seems to be registered.
Haven’t seen such a poorly thought out and designed application in quite a while.
