So basically I tried this app and it was good but after time it forced me to make an account so I did but then when I wanted to to make a new drawing it said “adobe fresco needs 0.6 Gb” like wHY😩😤 I only made three drawing do not that good😠

Lovely app
I really enjoy using this app and its features. But I have had to delete and redownload it many times and delete some of my artwork as it takes up a lot of storage.

Super buggy but otherwise great app
I’ve been using fresco as my go to drawing app for the past year and I love so many features about it. My main concerns are the storage management which I believe is affecting the other issues I am about to mention. My fresco is currently taking up 12GB storage, and there is no way to manage that other than delete your artwork, even if you pay for adobe cloud storage, it always saves to your device without any options to change that.
The Timelapse feature needs the most attention. For some unknown reason when you go to export the video it shrinks the visible canvas down to a pixelated mess and most of the screen shows a large black border. This has happens on many of my drawings. Which is incredibly frustrating because I rely on these videos to promote my content.
I am trying my hardest to get these issues addressed, but there is a lack of help from the adobe team.
Sadly I may have to remove the app if these issues persist as it’s causing glitching/bug crashes on my iPad overall due to the mass storage intake.
If these issues are addressed I could happily boost it to 5 stars, but until then, it remains low.

No Export Without Adobe Account Login
The app itself has been wonderful so far. I love the brush selection, their categories and behavior. I find it easy to get started with and fun to use.
You can use the app right away, no payment or login required (thank you!).
But, you cannot export any of your artwork without logging into your Adobe (Creative Cloud) account. Which drastically limits the usefulness of this app if that’s not what you want to do.
I understand their reasoning, but I would have preferred to pay once to unlock local-only export. I will continue using it, but only for art I don’t intend to export. Where it’s more about the journey than the destination.

It’s amazing except on the iPhone app you cannot play animations and the fact that there’s no enough purchases apart from Adobe storage and adobe fonts are amazing. Hope you can do this to Photoshop.

Very cool app with minor frustrations…can’t find a way to convert a motion layer back to a normal layer, copying the layer to a new one copies the motion too and even after removing the motion layer the motion still remains. Only just got an iPad and this app but enjoying it so far, hoping for an update soon

Program not usable to new users of digital art
Adobe fresco own help section is not current to the version available as download even the tutorials are old and out dated as this app must have been u[dated so many times and they change things I am lost opacity not where it says it is no help finding it as it is so out dated and yet straight away I was told I need pro to able to use opacity paid still can not find it stop changing placement of tools or update tutorials straight away so cancelling subscription deleting app as I can not Lower the opacity of first layer so therefore next layer I can not see what I am doing this app is pointless and a waste of time and apple is allowing this it makes them complicit in obtaining money through deception

I used to only go for fresco, because it was good, but now all the options disappeared?? No more vectors, no more adjustments like balance, hues, everything gone. 90% of my brushes are gone. No more snapping, no more nothing. There’s now as much option as for 1998 Paint. How can I work ??

AMAZING BUT….
I really love this app but there is a problem. I haven’t signed in, but I have made lots of wonderful drawings that took me lots of time and effort. My issue is when I have 20 drawings and make a new one it just deletes the drawing I did the longest time ago. So, I’ve lost lots of my drawings that I spent ages on please sort this issue if you can, thanks :D

For a free drawing app it’s impressive, i’d guess from reading the negative comments that many of the issues are down to pilot error and hardware that’s not really up to the job. I’ve used Fresco for many months and not one glitch, crash, or loss of work. Adobe have put a lot of effort in and it shows.

Reference Feedback
I love this app. Especially the aesthetic and the live brushes that come along with it. The only thing that is missing is a reference window. I’m a beginner artist so I rely on looking at reference photos when drawing most of the times to horn my skill but the app (I’m on 1st Gen IPad Pro 12.9) doesn’t have an option to have your reference photo on a floating reference window above your canvas.

Incredible but some annoying features
Fresco has been the best program I’ve used so far, I feel like i’ve really excelled in art since using it and nothing really works the same for me. HOWEVER fresco and photoshop being slightly incompatible is extremely frustrating. Such as the error “can’t open photoshop read-only layers”. I wish this could be fixed and made compatible, it completely limits what I can do from fresco. Until then, it’ll only be 4 stars from me.

Just amazing
I’m blown away how powerful this little app is. The way you can use vector brushes as well as pixel is a game changer. The animation tools let you quickly bring your illustrations to life. Anyone who does not get this app needs to watch a tutorial, as it has all the features you need. If people really knew what this app could do they would leave Procreat straight away.
It’s now my favourite drawing app and makes digital art more enjoyable.

Current issues
I absolutely love using Fresco. It’s my go-to app. However for a few months now there has been a problem: the app would shut down and some files wouldn’t be possible to save because of the ‘unknown error’. It became a problem as it started happening quite often. Working on an important document, it became stressful knowing that that problem may occur again and the latest changes wouldn’t be saved or the worst case - the file would be empty. I alway use Fresco for illustration and animation but this problem had never happened before May 2024. Since then, it’s an ongoing issue. It would shut down even during small animations, the ones I’ve been doing for a while. It affected the workflow significantly and as I’ve mentioned causes a lot of stress. So I hope the Abode Team can resolve this issue soon.

I don't often write reviews, but WOW this app is good. It gives you all the tools you need with tons of useful features. It has no adverts, and all of the content that you need a subscription to access are very small things that you probably not need anyway. It works especially well with a stylus, and has many tools for organising your drawings! I would definitely recommend this. Anyway, enough yapping. Go download this app if you love drawing!

Been using adobe vector apps for years, since adobe draw. Which was awesome. This is basically Adobe draw with a tone of other functions and tools as you would expect. Interesting having vector and raster layers in one doc. The live colour water/ink brushes are amazing. Great software as always from Adobe. Worth every penny. I use this sometimes just for vector lines and export/colour/ finish with adobe illustrator.

It can be good
Whenever i try to use the fill, not only does it take forever to load but half the time it doesn’t even work and/or makes the app crash. Even though the app has the most recent update, along with the most recent IOS update, whenever i try to use the paint inside mode, it waits a few seconds then fully crashes. Please fix this its extremely frustrating and makes the app nylon impossible to use to its full potential. Have tried to message them but never got a response either.

Great art app
I really enjoy using Adobe Fresco.
I used to used Adobe Draw just for quick vector sketches but then I slowly used them for final illustrations.
This app has replaced it brilliantly where not only has it got a number of page presets but also it caters for manga illustration with vector brushes preset and the raster tools are awesome too with new packs to download fairly regular and when i struggle to find a texture brush i can go thru the plethora of downloads.
It is my go to art app for illustrations, WEBTOON and quick sketches

Amazing!
Personally one of the best apps I have ever downloaded! Adobe fresco has tutorials and livestreams! There’s no adds you also don’t have to pay for good stuff! No monthly trial! You can watch livestreams or create your own. As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t need Wi-Fi. Would recommend except if your new to digital art or have now idea I wouldn’t start with Adobe Fresco not saying it’s bad. It just can be complicated and a little overwhelming.

So I’ve used this app for a long time now, I even used the one they had before it became this one and I’m the kinda person where I’m sometimes a bit too dumb to learn really complex tutorials but this app doesn’t drop any of that on you, it’s there if you need it but aside that, you can just get in and create. I’ve made really small pieces to huge 30 hour projects and this app has everything I need as a beginner. I sing this app the highest praises. Not to mention, if you accidentally close the app or it crashes, your work is 100% safe and is exactly how you left it. I cannot recommend this app more. Huge respect and thanks to adobe for such a user friendly app.

Best mixer brushes on iPad
I hadn’t even heard of Fresco even those it has been out since 2019. I’m not sure what the price is.. I’ve heard\read that it changed from £10 a month to £10 a year.. I hope this is so. Although I understand Adobes subscription models I didn’t particularly like paying £10 a month for photoshop when affinity photo or Procreate are good alternatives - but for a standalone iPad art app I am thinking this is going to be my go to, main app. Mostly, for me, because of its ‘live’ (mixing) brushes. The way oils and watercolour brushes work are as good as Corel painter. I hope they add more although the restriction of the 5 or so of oil and watercolour brushes they have is kind of good for me.. you can get lost trying hundreds of not so brilliant brushes otherwise! Anyhow, I’m impressed (just hope the subscription price is good when the free trial end🙏)

Best professional painting software
The ability of fresco to paint like in real painting on canvas or water colour is amazing, the chemistry and mediums, oils is out and you left with creativity without boundaries. Let your imagination go, put on what you want, not what possible. As it is in early stage adobe got a mile to go, you can export file in any format except to fresco format. I found that sailing digital pdf do not bring, original price. Backup is difficult as if you run out of space it will exist on a cloud but not on any media you can save to. Printing to canvas at the moment the best results is on cannon via pdf, do not use photoshop as you may loose brush details.
The max printing resolution is low, resulting in smaller prints 80x80 was my max to get excellent quality, if you looking on larger size wall size, the quality is not sufficient. One file in above A2 can run a size more then 1gb. The brush strokes takes memory, to get real print as on your iPad you need the largest file possible, then print short Streep and Chang the size of the print, until you get the best result. Good luck. This programme is for real professional artist, for hobby it is a long curve. What ever you do keep your brushes and paints.

I really like this app. It’s very good for beginners (like me). But I did have a problem with it. Occasionally when I would go on(this is probably to do with my iPad) it would not let me on due to my iPad having no storage left. Again this is probably just an issue with the amount of apps I have. But other than that I would 100% recommend for anyone. 😊

It’s good
I was annoyed at first coz I liked the other Adobe apps and they forced me to move to this by deleting the older versions. My files wouldn’t download at first so I was frustrated. Sorted it eventually. However, after using this app for a new project I have found it is far better than anything else I’ve used on my ipad. It does everything I need (I think).

Crashes
Has been completely fine for months, however this past week it has been super slow and sluggish. Yesterday the app crashed and lost hours of work that I could not recover and I had to do it again. Luckily I managed to save it before it crashed again. Since then, it has been extremely slow and crashing very very often - especially as it’s ‘saving’. Really disappointed and frustrated.

I’ve been looking for a good painting app finally found it to go with my iPad 2021 instead of paying £8.99 for another app five star review not sure they have premium but if they had premium don’t buy it because you can only get what you can get here on this app because I just created like the perfect painting my room my drawings are terrible download it download it now it’s a really good app I’m really happy with it I’m never going to delete it

why cant i choose where to save my files!
i really love the lack of ability to save in a location of my choosing! i only have 70gb available space on my ipad so having files save only to the cloud (1.2 gb available space) is a tremendous bonus and is really encouraging. its also great that all my old sketch files are now in the cloud and it is seemingly impossible to save them on my ipad. i do seem to be able to make them available off line (whatever that means) whilst no indicator is given as to the location of this offline availability. having bought an apple pencil i am now enjoying the added functionality of being able to jam it into each of my eyes repeatedly. thanks Adobe you really are true backwardators of the highest order!

Too complicated
I loved adobe sketch as it was simple to use and met my needs. Fresco is too complicated and I can’t get the tools to work how I need them too. It’s probably a great app for some but for me it’s just stressful using it. And disappointing that I can’t create what I need. I don’t have time for the tutorials. Why get rid of a product that worked? Maybe its time to go back to paper and real art tools!
Just found out that frescos adds backgrounds to cut out images effectively making the app totally useless to me and I can’t work out how to edit image layers once you’ve added them. Yet another feature of sketch missing or at least hidden! And trying to get your sketch projects is irritating, only able to do one at a time and the files you end up with are don’t have an image on the icon so you know which one is which. Feeling vexed that I have been forced to pay for more storage to get my sketch work back too. I couldn’t even access them to delete unwanted projects. Looking for an alternative product that is not adobe now.

Worse than both draw and sketch
It’s great that fresco brings both vector and raster layers together, but it is missing basic features from its discontinued predecessor that makes for a horrible experience.
First of all, the lack of helpful preference settings. Being able to lock canvas rotation is so simple, yet missing. By removing the ability to choose stroke smoothing to apply after drawing, the smoothing feature is horribly laggy.
Secondly, there are no thumbnails for folders... Why would you remove this? The interface looks dull and empty, and it’s harder to navigate.
Thirdly, the horrible migration. Fresco didn’t nearly import all my work from draw and sketch as it claimed. The result is having to manually import all work from sketch and draw. Best of all, it doesn’t even let you select multiple projects to import at once.
Cloud storage usage is through the roof and the imported draw files now have thumbnails disproportionate to the actual drawings.

Furious! All my old art is gone.
I have so many memories stored in Adobe Draw and Sketch and when I’ve gone in to retrieve some of my old art, I can’t see anything without it telling me to download Fresco.
Now that I’ve downloaded it, not all of my art has synced. I’m certain I’m missing lots of drawings. I got a notification saying that some documents couldn’t be imported due to insufficient Creative Could storage, yet I have 1.5GB free?!
This is an absolute joke and a jerk move on Adobe’s behalf that I can’t even view my old art anymore. At least keep Draw and Sketch active as a viewing platform if we can’t use those apps to draw on anymore. I’m so mad.

I love Adobe Sketch & a bit sad to upgrade to Fresco
Many times I have an idea during the night & I can quickly draw those idea into Adobe Sketch without any problems or stress… whilst off line. If I have any ideas during the night & I have to use Fresco, I have to turn on internet to access software, select blank doc then Fresco tells me that I don’t have enough 1.6gb or 2gb of memory to open or use a blank doc. I have or had more creative out put using Adobe Sketch than Fresco. Plus is there anyway to access my work offline instead of using the Adobe Cloud. Adobe Cloud should be for final storage. I feel that I have been less creative on Adobe Fresco / Cloud.
I just realised that the last time I used Adobe Fresco without any problems was February 2021 since then EVERYTHING is saved to the cloud .
The fresco software is now reaching 1gb …… Adobe Sketch & Adobe Draw was very less in size.

Be careful! I don’t recommend….
If you want to loose everything you’ve been working on for hours in just a sec, use this app… I liked the tools it provides, very easy to learn using, so I decided to give it a second chance as it did freeze before and shut down and didn’t save anything I was working on. Ok so it happened the second time , again loosing hours of work, I tried retrieving it from history, but the history was blank too, only saved the sketch when I first started, considering I was almost done when it shut down, so a big middle thumb up for this app… I’m fuming.

A fantastic professional illustration Programme
I’ve been using Fresco for daily illustration work for over a year now, and it has become my go to tool for digital illustration. I can’t recommend this programme highly enough. It’s fast, user friendly, with fantastic brushes available. Plus, new features are being developed all the time. 5 stars, a great programme for professionals and passionate drawers alike!

It’s getting there but there’s better alternatives
I’ve had this app since launch and despite the improvements it still feels quite lacklustre compared to other drawing and painting applications on the iPad such as Procreate or clip studio. Not to mention so many of the "new" features should have already came with the application day 1 as other apps (like the ones mentioned) already have most of these functions there. honestly before fresco released I had hoped they would do an direct port of photoshop since that could have given them a leg up to some degree (since it would be photoshop on ipad) but instead they separate it into two apps (fresco and ps)and tried to copy Procreate’s simplified lay out but instead it pails in comparison. This made the apps feel extremely underwhelming and unfinished to an degree. Adobe is supposed to be a powerhouse used by professionals in many industries and they’re being beat by indie (in comparison) applications like CSP and Procreate.
To conclude I’ll still use fresco from time to time and I do hope it can eventually reach stage where it at least feels worth using but in the meantime I’ll just stick to ps on pc and Procreate/ CSP on my iPad. Honestly I’m just pretty disappointed that fresco/ps on iPad could have been good, it could have blew both Procreate and CSP out of the water but it didn’t.

Amazing but a few bugs
Went from using sketch to fresco and fresco is so good, so many more options and images look much smoother and sharper and all for free ! However after using the app for about half an hour it began to run super slowly. The touch sensitivity when using an Apple Pencil isn’t working very well and the app just seems to lag and not be as responsive. I still love it, but the lag is very frustrating.
I haven’t purchased any brushes yet but am seriously considering as I love the app and the brushes you can buy seem to give really good effects. If there was an update that dealt with the slowness I definitely wouldn’t mind paying for more

I'm a very big fan of Fresco. My dad introduced me to this app and it was AMAZING and still is! I have never tried procreate and to be honest I do not really know what the fuss is (sorry anyone who likes procreate:()So if you want to download a very good drawing/art app this is the one

Poor quality app
They repeatedly break things after each update. For example there was an option for touch to be “gestures only” to avoid constantly drawing on the screen with your palm or while zooming/rotating with fingers. This option no longer has an effect after today’s update. You really really need to get a grip on your product quality.

The UI has changed ever since the new update
The little tool bar that features the colour, settings for the featured brush and opacity (etc.) pops out like a separate window - its been there before sitting at the bottom of the tool bar, but now it automatically sits outside separate when I change brushes. The Bitmap Brush, eraser and the Live Brush doesn’t allow the little section to pop back in place. Is there a way to keep it in there? (Also, the circle that shows the opacity and colour of the featured brush is on the separate section and at the bottom of the regular tool bar, so it takes up unnecessary room on the screen.
Overall the app is a great step up from Adobe Illustrator Draw, especially with the selection tools and Live Brushes.

Fantastic but missing some of my favourite adobe features
This app is amazing. I’ve really started to get into illustrating more since I got this app. However, the lack of anchor points is really annoying because rather than editing an existing line I have to draw a new one. Also, you can’t add n image layer like you can in photoshop sketch, and as someone who uses it to illustrate over images, I have to upload my image onto sketch and then open the file in fresco.

Could be great
I’ve been using Adobe Fresco for a little while now, and the ability to combine vector, pixel & live brush strokes in one app is really useful at times this could be an exceptional drawing app. Unfortunately for my style of very detailed vector line illustrations, the app is almost unusable as after about an hour it will slow down so much that I’ve had to start doing parts of my drawing over 3 or so different canvases then putting them together on Adobe Illustrator, not to mention the bucket fill doesn’t work at all unless you use it at the beginning. I use the basic taper vector brush mostly, and usually only a single colour. It seems that it just can’t handle the information produced quite quickly, which gives a massive lag in brush strokes. I really hope this is fixed soon as I never had this issue on Adobe Draw, and currently I wish I’d not switched over.

You can do better for 1/6 the price
The fill doesn’t work, it can’t do reference layers. It has a nice pencil, and the inking tools are fun. Not anti aliased. But if you like the look of a 1995 gif, this is for YOU!
Just remember to read the warning that if you try to do any large images or use many layers, it will not perform.
The layer system is also pretty primitive.
For $5 it’d be an ok buy, but sadly it’s $10 a month which is insultingly poor pricing for an app that is obviously not out of alpha.
Update! It tags all your work when you share and you still can’t open files that aren’t psd.

Loving it!
Simple to use yet offers great functionality. I’m using it for my vector arts and it’s much easier to use than Illustrator. Well, at least for the stuff I want to use it with.
They had introduced several new functionality of the app since I started using it. I’m absolutely satisfied with it

Great start, especially for vector art
I really love the vector brushes Fresco offers - but the inability to draw straight lines leaves me frustrated and heading back to Procreate for the vast majority of my workflow. If I could draw in vector in Procreate you’d never find me searching for other platforms, but I thought I’d give it a try as I’m already tied into their cloud subscription service and would like to get as much out of it as I can. After using Fresco for a couple of days I was left feeling that it could be so much more. It hasn’t been released too early per se, what it does do it does very well - but it’s by no means a full package yet. Annoyingly there is no ‘turn a drawn line into a straight line’ feature, which is unbelievably useful, nor a shapes tool, which I didn’t realise I’d hanker after until it wasn’t an option. The ruler provided is next to useless (or I found it to be).
I do like it, and would recommend it, but it still needs more work to be on a par with more established design apps.

Not a patch on Procreate.
Told me I needed 3gb free space for it to function. Freed up the space and was having a play about. Pretty basic features. Closed app, came back later and was told my saved files failed to load and that I needed to free up 5gb and try again. No way past this error message. Freed up 5gb. All ok for a while. Now error message when painting that the app needs an additional 1.2 gb free to save my document. Don’t have the storage space or the time. I was excited about the launch of this app, but I’m pretty disappointed. Whilst I appreciate Adobe have gone with a 6 month free trial which will enable me to see if the app improves, I’m not worried for Savage as Procreate blows this new boy out of the water in comparison to features and usability. Great app, but still a way to go
Love that Adobe have finally released this awesome app to complete the CC suite workflow.
I’m still trying out the features and all great so far - one interface issue I have is when I lean on my iPad and it undoes steps I didn’t want to undo - ultimately loosing some gem strokes. (There is no option to turn this feature off) This is a really big flaw for me, but other than that, seems good so far.
Clearly this app is going up against Procreate - and right now Pro’ still wins by a landslide.
I find it a little ridiculous that people are rating it so low. It’s a brand new app and of course it’s not going to be fantastic upon its first release, however I see a lot of potential which will eventually take hold and become an app no digital artist can live without.
Long way to go but look forward to using this app regularly once it’s smoothed out.

Photoshop is still their golden child
As an adobe illustrator user I was quite excited about the fact that unlike Procreate this app has vector brushes. Unfortunately vector tools are pretty limited, unable to import vector brushes and exporting file as a pdf to illustrator is quite frankly a nightmare. Layer names are not saved upon export and just end up in desktop illustrator as as one huge clipping mask so it takes about 20 minutes to reorganise layer structure. Glad to know the golden kids aka photoshop users can export their layers with ease and import their own brushes. Cant import files into adobe fresco, you can in Procreate. Fresco just imports photos. On the positive their pencil brush is much better than Procreates and their vector brushes seem better than adobe draw. But please Adobe ..... look after your vector kids!

Promising, very promising
Really well thought out approach to layers and the amount of flexibility makes this very useful - what a great start.
Please make it possible to change undo sensitivity, nearly every other time I rest my hand on the screen ‘undo’ is triggered, really annoying. Favourite vector brushes - please please please allow me to save vector brushes as favorites, with sizes and dynamics, at the moment favorite vector brushes change according to default brush settings, rendering vector brush favorites useless.

Adobe is playing us like a fiddle
So out of the gate I’ll say this: this app is good, it’s missing plenty of features but I honestly can’t see those not coming in the near future and the brushes are honestly very impressive, both the live ones and the more run of the mill vector brushes.
That said, the fact that this app wants to charge users a monthly subscription of 10$, in a world were Procreate exists as a one-time purchase of also 10$, is criminal. There’s two options here: either Adobe is living under a rock and doesn’t realize that their business practices are outdated and honestly not competitive at all, or they straight up think that their customers are idiots who will buy anything that Billie Eilish tells them to.
In conclusion. This app would be a great competitor for Procreate if it wasn’t for the ludicrous 10$ subscription. Don’t even bother with it if you’re not already paying for Creative Cloud.
REVIEW UPDATE: the dev answer to my review must be a joke. Like, did you even read my review? You basically doubled down on my criticism. I really hope that review was made by some automated response bot or something. Anyways, par for the course for Adobe customer service.

Looks like paint, but feels like plastic
There’s a weird lack of resistance to almost all the brushes, which makes everything feel like you’re drawing on a whiteboard. You can adjust the pressure sensitivity, but this doesn’t seem to make much difference.
I can’t figure out while the developers didn’t just focus on making a limited range of brushes that are actually pleasant to draw with, instead of offering 272 tacky looking watercolour brushes that are meant to con the viewer into thinking it’s done on paper. It’s like the software equivalent of a cheap pleather jacket.
There are some downloadable brushes that are pleasant to use - the HB Pencil Pro, the Pulp Inker and the Big Wide Softy come to mind - but most of them are gimmicky and just take up space.
Worse still, it’s a huge app, and if you try to use it when your iPad storage is nearly full, it’ll prompt you to clear 5gb of storage before you can even use it!
The creative cloud brushes are all stored in gigantic multipacks, so you can’t download them individually.

Impressive start to Fresco
This is a fantastic app with a great start from adobe. The live brushes give that fantastic feeling of painting with creative freedom and play that no other app currently does. The UI is exceptional and defiantly geared towards working professional illustrators with all the tools being extremely intuitive to use. Can’t wait for the up and coming features to be added to this app and see it go from strength to strength!

Fantastic Fresco
This is a great app and it’s a shame that the first few reviews were by people who seemed to want to shoot it down. The touch toggle can be moved if it’s in the way, and the photography plan doesn’t include drawing, so their “reviews” aren’t much to go on, imho.
Fresco promises to be an incredible drawing experience with pixels and vectors; the live watercolour brushes are fantastic and the oils are really good (not my medium tho).
Add to that the integration of Creative Cloud and this is a real tool to be reckoned with. There’s still a way to go—this is an emerging way of working—but a fantastic start.

Freemium version is pretty useless
I tried the free version; you can’t import brushes, so all of my Photoshop brushes from when I used to have Photoshop remain redundant (until Procreate 5 with PS brush compatibility woohoo). I did have some PS brush sets in my CC library, but they wouldn’t load, and didn’t work properly in the app. They caused random parts of my painting to delete as I drew with a brush. These are brushes that were designed for Photoshop, but wouldn’t work in Fresco. The live brushes were entertaining for a while, and then I got bored. Too limited without paying 9.49 a month and very buggy. The eraser “shortcut” was a nuisance (just allow the eraser tool to be set to any brush). With excellent apps (Affinity Designer/Photo and Procreate) available, there is nothing special about Fresco to draw me into a subscription again.

It’s Okay
I like it. But I don’t think it’ll be replacing the other big drawing app for me any time soon. The touch-shortcut feature is interesting but doesn’t solve any kind of problem that couldn’t have been achieved with some additional tool selection options.
I like that they included touch canvas rotation, but it’s maybe a little janky in this early version. At times it feels super responsive, other times not responsive enough. Hopefully this will be improved.
Two and three finger taps are great to have for undo/redo, but it’s very sensitive and gets confused sometimes with palm rejection, meaning that quite a few times when I undid something and continued drawing, it would accidentally redo, and I’d have to undo again, sometimes a few times in a row.
More positively, it’s very responsive and fluid with the Apple Pencil, and making strokes feels good. Plenty of brushes to play and experiment with and loads of options and settings to help achieve a good workflow.
