Fantastic Fastic

I have used other fasting app and at the time I thought they were good enough until I stumbled on Fastic.
This is indeed a classic!. It’s very comprehensive and gives informed data to help you make adjustments and correct unhealthy habits.

Not great.

Didn’t like this app at all, paid for the 3 months and it kept pushing me to spend more on the pro package. Didn’t find it very easy to navigate. Deleted after a few days.

Constant adverts every time I open app.

I was interested in getting back into fasting and logging my times so re-downloaded the app as I had success with it previously.
Unfortunately every time I open the app it advertises the pro version, every time I go to a different page the pro advert pops up again. Then if I happen to hang around long enough I get a generic advert for something else.
Pretty frustrating to use but at least it’s easy to delete your account.

Poor Customer Support After Paid Subscription

I paid the full annual subscription because on the app it said I could have different fasting times set for different days which worked better for me as I like to fast longer in the week and less at weekends. This was the ONLY reason I paid the subscription.
I have been unable to do this on the app so contacted customer support and started a conversation with them regarding this issue. Sometimes I would have to send one or two chaser emails for a response! This is still not sorted so I said I would like a refund but apparently I have to approach Apple for this who only refund within 14 days of the payment. I first contacted Fastic on 18th December so clearly two months later I am not going to get this refunded.
Beware subscribing, being promised features which they don’t deliver on and the shockingly slow customer services responses which are frankly unhelpful.

Great app but…

I love this app. It is easy to use and has given many useful insights.
However where on earth are the meal types coming from? I put “porridge” in the search and get multiple options - none of them looking like home made porridge. I usually add prunes to my breakfast does that search result in anything useful? Heck no! I get all sorts of options but none of them looking anything like a portion of prunes.
Disappointed with the latest upgrade

Omg admin is sooo poor

This is a fabulous app as long as you don’t get any issues with the setting - I’ve been trying for weeks to reset my account - the so called help is so so poor they just keep coming back to you with the same advice or asking you what you did wrong - if I knew that and how to fix it I wouldn’t be asking for help - all I have asked for is help in resetting my password as despite trying countless times I can’t - how difficult can it be - enjoy the features tho everyone it’s great but I will be leaving if I don’t get this resolved soon

Feeling so much better!

I was not sure if fasting was for me but it turns out it definitely is. I thought fasts had to go on for days and days and they can if you like, but my perfect fast seems to be 17hrs. I have more energy and feel healthier than I have in years. Thank you.

Makes it easy

When I have to constantly work out how much longer I have left to fast or my eating window, its tedious, this just makes fasting easier. Also using ‘fasting like a girl’ to alternate my fast to my cycle and this app is really easy to calculate alongside. Plus I love to water reminders. Highly recommend.

Finally able to fast!

I couldn’t get my head round dating until I used this app and it’s going well. The app is easy to use once you get used to it and provides helpful, encouraging insights as the day progresses. It offers much more than I expected and seems an easy solution to all round improved health.

Says 12+ but is 18+

Bit annoyed how it says 12+ but you have to be 18+ in the actual app. Also, can’t pick a goal weight lower than 50kg? (I couldn’t maybe because of my height? Still annoying though) i don’t want to lie for varied reasons, it could affect my data as well.

Too many promotions!

Nice app and no issues with the ads as you need to make money

Avoid!! Dishonest & unhelpful company.

Due to a glitch with the app, I wasn’t signed up despite paying. I had paid but still only had the free version. I kept being prompted to pay even though I already had. There was no help I could access via the app. I had to email the company, & they were very unhelpful & blamed me for the problem. Eventually they told me I had to wait two weeks for a refund. I’m still not refunded now. I’m dubious that I will receive the refund given the company’s unhelpful & dishonest responses.
I wouldn’t recommend risking losing your money for a service that doesn’t work and the time and stress involved in trying to sort it out.

Does the job

Wanted something to prompt me when to start, when to finish, and to keep a record of successes.
I’ve not paid - the weekly costs is down to 58p a week now (although you’ve got to be quick when this offer comes up). They take the payment for a year. Right now I’m taking the view that I’ll build up a habit using the app and put up with the Ads. The Ads are a pain, plays a video which you can’t stop.

Not at good as it used to be

I used Fastic a few years ago and it helped me loose a dress size. Thought I would redownload as I have my wedding coming up in a few months but I cannot deal with how much the app has changed.
Literally way too many adverts and I can’t even log my water intake anymore. You have to have the premium version!! I am being constantly prompted to purchase the premium version and it’s going my head in now.

Stopped working and there’s no customer support

So disappointed with this app. Loved it at first and did it religiously, started to see results and loved the daily lessons. However out of the blue it stopped syncing with apple health and all my tasks disappeared from the daily list and I can’t add them on. I tried logging off, deleting and installing again. Nothing works and the customer service ignore my emails. A month of it paid and wasted and now I’ve lost momentum and fed up with it. Just going to delete it as it is so frustrating,

Enjoying using the app

I don’t normally write reviews but actually I really like this app. I like having the timer / count down on my Home Screen so I can see how long I have left of my fast without having to go into the app. It is easy to use and is bright and cheerful. Not too keen on the bear, bit childlike but it is what it is!

Paid version: 💯, but the free version 🤮

Only three stars because despite having used and loved the paid version for years(!) I recently didn’t renew my subscription and had the app still on my phone. I wasn’t even using it and yet all of a sudden out of nowhere the app sets a fasting timer goal and adds it to my calendar. Not only is this a weird invasion of my privacy (even the paid version didn’t do this which would have been efficient), but when I decided to give it a go, I’m spammed on every other page with really dodgy ads.
But I can’t ignore it either because no matter how often I delete the recurring reminders it’s added to my calendar, or prevent it accessing my calendar in my phone’s permissions, somehow nothing gives and it’s in my calendar everyday, spamming me with reminders I don’t want for an fast I’m not doing and even now that I’ve deleted the app it STILL KEEPS THE REMINDERS IN MY CALENDAR, so I now I literally having reminders for an app I don’t even have.
Since I’ve not used the paid version for over a year, I can’t even vouch for that anymore but once upon a time, it was good.
Now -— the whole thing is a headache!

Need to fix the glitch with acceding the calendar

I was using this app for awhile, and was brilliant to keep track of my daily water intake and keep tracking of my fasting window. But then the app offer me an option to sincronize with my phone calendar and it was the worst thing as keep beeping all the time, I try to deactivate but there is no way to remove it . I even uninstalled this app and this bug on my calendar still there abs is quite annoying.

Pretty good - would be 5 star with Apple Watch app / complication

I do like that app, but it would be perfect if you could trigger and end a fasting period on your Apple Watch and also there was a complication that you could put on the Apple Watch face showing a countdown

Nothing for basic members

They make you do an unskippable ten minute quiz at the start for your “personalised plan” only to tell you you have to pay for premium to see it. The basic interface has absolutely nothing useful except tips on how to fast and a place to record what foods you’ve eaten and how much water you’ve drank.

Started great ended unusable

I had been using Fastic for the past 2 years on a daily basis, really enjoying the gameified fasting tracking it offered: simple and straightforward. Unfortunately, today I deleted the app and have no intention of downloading again any time soon.
Fastic’s decision to implement the most aggressive ad strategy has ruined the app. Unsolicited advertisements pop up every time I open the app, blaring a halfwit marketing slogan from my speakers without permission, and in some instances not allowing me to skip the ad. What’s worse, Fastic’s ads feature various products and marketplaces with a reputation for selling counterfeit and unsafe consumer goods, which is unacceptable and reputation tarnishing.
I attempted to inform customer service of the issues this ad policy is causing but to no avail, receiving an automatic reply with a bunch of hoops I had to jump through to offer my feedback. So, here is feedback offered in a straight and straightforward way. A very sad end to Fastic on my phone.

Could be amazing with more flexibility

I was loving the free version of the app and recently upgraded to Plus on the promise that I’d have more flexibility. But this absolutely isn’t true - even if you use “Custom” as the schedule, are in a specific plan, fasting the same length of time, every day - just with the ability to change your start/finish times. I’m trying to follow a program specific for women that adjusts length of fasts according to your cycle/hormones - and keeps things interesting and working as a bonus. PLEASE please please give this app the flex for someone to plan their own week ahead of time and say for example - Monday&Tuesday, 14hrs, Wednesday, 17hrs, Thursday & Friday, 16hrs - etc. You could get your one-off longer fasts in there, plan ahead. We all have different bodies, different lives, different cycles. Please give me an option to pre-plan my own calendar in an intuitive, user friendly way and not “switch plan” each time I need to change the length of a fast (or feel like I’ve failed a fast when I end it sooner than the app thinks I should…!)

Really enjoying the app but one thing…

Edit: downgraded to three stars because the updates feature even more additions for the AI which is the part I use the least. On top of the regular messages the AI sends (with notifications) there is now a pop-up every time I open the app telling me to start talking to the AI.
I have also had issues using the habit section where it doesn’t finish a habit properly for me to start a new one. It seems like with each update the app is getting worse. I’ve paid for the year so hoping to stick it out but if these things aren’t amended I will not be renewing when my subscription comes to an end.
Old review: I like that I can add steps, water and the academy that has taught me a lot about the benefits of fasting. Would’ve given five stars but for the new AI feature. The AI in the app now sends messages everyday or every other day commenting on my progress and asking how I’m feeling. Frustrating because it’s just an AI programmed to do this, not a person that cares. Can’t seem to switch off this notification either.

Originally great app recently ruined by ads

I’ve used this app for a couple of years, and originally it suited my needs perfectly. I start and stop a fast period, get reminders of when it’s ending, etc. Until recently the “pro” or “premium” stuff was fairly unobtrusive. You’d get gently pushed towards premium features but it was never a hard sell. Now, it’s turned into one of those junkware apps that spams you full screen ads you can’t close whenever you interact with it. It’s nauseating.
Updated to add - the app now sends you notifications for stuff unrelated to your fasting window, like an “AI Chatbot” (what?) and other garbage. And of course you can’t turn off notifications otherwise you’ll miss ones you actually need (fasting window ones)

Weight tracker is incorrect

I have been a user of the app before but lost my way. A week or so ago I decided to give it another go. Annoying it lost all my history despite having never deleted the app. However the worst part is that the weigh tracker shows incorrect data despite the weight log being correct. It shows the amount to go as 18lbs when it is clearly 40lbs and also shows my current and target weights completely incorrectly. This would be my motivator, seeing that to go number moving correctly.
The app itself is good, I like the reminders to start fasting and the notifications to tell me when I hit fat burn. I don’t like the adverts to upgrade to premium multiple times a day but I can’t switch those off with losing the useful reminders. I’ll see how it goes and once I get into my habit of fasting properly again I should be able to carry on without the app.

Maria.G

I have never tried fasting before, but I was recommended to try this app by a friend.
I’ve only been doing this for 5days and I’ve already lost 6lb!!! It’s amazing, I can’t actually believe I’m doing it and its working great. I have ADHD and I find focusing on one task at a time really difficult, and even concentrating on the one thing can be challenging 🤣 However this seems to be giving me, way more clarity and focus than I would normally have in a day. I find the app countdowns fun and everyday, I’ve pushed past my daily target.
It’s given me some control back into my manic life. I would recommend this to everyone who is thinking of trying fasting, I’m sleeping better that I have done for years and I have so much energy. Which is weird as I thought not eating would make me tired, but that couldn’t have been further from the reality! I am going on holiday in 2 months and for the first time in a long time, I’m now shopping for a bikini!!!
😃🤩❤️ Thank you so much.

Love the app, hate the design update

I was really enjoying the simplicity of this app and paid for the full access. It was comfortable to use, clear and functional. (The only problem was that the included “recipes” are a joke, such as shakshouka without any spices added or things like lemon water (add lemon to water…) - I am yet to find any truly inspiring recipe)
Sadly for some reason, despite not willingly downloading any update nor having automatic updates on, I woke up one day to see it looking very differently.
Now it’s hard to find basic functions among some users illustrated panels (the illustrations are cute but it is not the point). The menu on the bottom that was my main “go to” is gone and I can’t find how to use the app effectively anymore.
The app doesn’t work as well for me now and I wouldn’t have paid for it if I knew it will be like this.

Great but the layout is so cluttered

Great app in general. I downloaded this about 3 years ago then picked it up again recently (2023). The layout used to be really cute but it’s now cluttered with a million different suggestions, variations of fast, tips, it’s just too much. The tips and info are what annoy me the most because this is the kind of cliched rubbish you get everywhere else in diet culture “did you know you should drink water”, “have some salmon and veggies”, “why you’re not loosing weight…with some annoying science along with a you’re-not-trying-hard-enough” kinda thing. It turns the concept and the app into a typical dieting app instead of a simple app with some interesting information about fasting. Most people know all of this. They’re either trying out intermittent fasting and just wanna focus on eating and fasting windows or they’re seasoned tasters and are aware of diet and exercise and would just like to use the lovely fasting clock to track their fasting hours. “Make your bed”, “give someone a cuddle”, or even “go for a walk” really waters down your content.

Wow Wow wow

I only knew about this app because it was a sponsor on a YouTuber I follow Swoop. She said how great this app is so I brought it because of her review. Having it myself this is absolutely the best thing ever. I love the recipes that the app has to offer, like instead of always drinking water, they give you other options. There are tips you can read if you find you are really hungry and struggling. It will take me 122 weeks to get down to my goal weight or the weight I want to be. I started on a Saturday so I could get used to it. I started out by fasting at 9:30pm all the way until 9:30am but at I take a lot of medication a day & in the morning I take 12 tablets so on an empty stomach it was not good. I lasted only 7 hours as I am up at 4:30am. I changed my fasting plan to 6:00 am to 6 pm and I have stuck to it. My family are really impressed. I like I can put in how much I drink, or drink (no fizzy) I have 3 cups of tea a day were I would drink easily 7-8. I did suffer from caffeine withdrawal but I powered through it. At 10 I have my morning meditation in afternoon I take 6 medicine and that is were I have to drink an Actimel with my medicine & I’m still losing weight. In 3 days I’ve lost 2lb in 3 days. I’m super excited for this app. It’s my miracle worker. It’s the best now my family are joining me so we can do this together and keep in touch through the day even when we’re all at work. I very very highly recommend this app. 5+++++++++++times a thousand ❤️

Simple to use app I am seeing results

I have been using the free version of this app for 4 weeks now. It is very simple to use and I appreciate the insights it shows with the timer. I would just use alarms or reminders on my phone however I feel like the reward system (winning a freeze day for every 5 days fasted) is a good way to stop me from burning out and helps me not feel guilty when i end up not fasting on a Friday night. I have been experiencing the benefits that come with intermittent fasting and this app has helped me keep on track long enough to see them. Only problem is that I can’t seem to complete the first free course? Maybe this is a bug or due to only using the free version.

Irritating UI

Fasting works, and I have tried to like this app, but it has too many irritations to its UI that it should not have. When launching, it takes a long time displaying its name before actually letting you do anything. Once in, you are effectively dealing with a simple countdown timer with some whizzy graphics overlayed. This is where the ‘meat’ of the app is, and it is also where the problems lie. Since starting this, I have hit the ‘Start Fasting’ button and left the app only to find, 13 hours later, that the app did not start the fasting timer and it throws the schedule out completely. On a few occasions, the ‘Completed Fasting’ screen caused the screen to go into flickering fits and it had to be soft reset to stop this. The continual nags to “subscribe” are the tip of a very irritating UI that should be slicker and smooth if it’s advertised 2 million users are to be believed. Why would you want to subscribe to a countdown clock? If it is supposed to be a forum app with a countdown, it is way off the mark. If it is supposed to be an encouragement app to help fasting, why the high subscription cost? I really wanted to like this app, but it’s fussy UI and glitchy operation don’t make it a good experience, and I really hate the near constant notifications that it generates. It may help 2 million, but for this 1 it is not good enough to even consider its rip-off subscription.

Doesn’t do the one thing you want it to do

Terrible app. Could be perfect but it destroys fasts and doesn’t record them regularly if you go a bit longer on a fast.
I felt like doing 25 hours. Continued fast. Pressed end fast for that day. Went back in to start fasting and it’s totally changed the history. Recorded 16 hours. Won’t let me change times.
If you don’t immediately start your fast on the app you can’t start it from an earlier time in the day. I started a fast at 19:20 and went to record it at 19:45 and it would only let me put 19:45 as the start.
Problems like this happen every day and I don’t have time in my life to faff for half sn hour trying to re-edit past fasts and record accurate data elsewhere ti add after. It’s a really mess of an app that can’t do the most important thing right.
And good luck if you want an eating diner that isn’t a set hour. I’d like 1hr20 to manage to eat adequate nutrition without being full. Not this app.

Nice app but notifications don’t work

Very nice app! Good functionalities even in the free part of the app.
But I found several issues:
- notifications just don’t work.. I got a badge signalling 1 notification that doesn’t go away in any way and I don’t receive any notifications. Obs I made sure notifications are on in the app and in the phone settings for the app
- single sign on doesn’t work. I installed the app and worked, but when I installed the app to someone else's iPhone the single sign on didn’t work for all the choices available. I needed to sign up with email
- weight and other info are not taken from health.. I have several gadgets that save my metrics on Apple health, like a scale for weight, an app that tracks water from Apple Watch, etc.. it’s very annoying that this app doesn’t pick up any of those values from health

Been using for just over a week

I was apprehensive about the whole intermittent fasting concept, but decided to give it a go. The app makes it really easy to keep track of your fasting. I started my first couple of days with 12 hour fasts I’m now on 14 hour fasts. I’ve dropped 1.7 kg in just over a week. I tried a couple of apps when I started including this one and this app is the one I’ve felt more comfortable with. Important note to remember when fasting is to make good choices when your eating again, and calorie deficit is still pretty important you do have to be burning more calories then your eating.

Fiona W

Started fasting approx 1 month ago. The best thing I have done in a long time.
I struggled to get rid of stubborn fat around my mid drift.
A friend told me about fasting and how it had helped her in a lot of ways, so I decided to give it a go.
I monitored what I was putting in my mouth volume wise and making sure they were the correct foods as well as drinking loads of water.
I went to the book all the way to see if it would work and it does.
I have gone from 10 stone 6lbs to 9 stone 9 pounds. I do fluctuate slitly, however it has come off in the places I wanted it to.
I do power walking a lot anyway, but now I have joined a gym and are trying to tone where I have lost.
I gave up bread totally for 3 weeks then tried some some a lunch and have realised this bloats my stomach m, it’s the same with pasta. So this app has opened up to me what foods are better for me.
The Fastic app is part of me now as I do feel so much better only having a smaller window to eat.
The app has also taught me so much more with the information it provides constantly.
Never thought I would be a faster, however I am and proud of telling people I am
Thank you and long May it continue now I gave a buddy join me, my fried Karen who is now on the same journey.

Great, if you want to be constantly bombarded with notifications

I’ve used another fasting app in the past and decided to give this a go after reading all the positive reviews. However, I really regret our cashing a three month subscription now. Firstly, the fasting regimes are not that varied; you only really have options where your day is split into two phases, fasting and non-fasting, and the period is always the same. There’s no option to have different regimes on different days, or multiple feeding windows in a single day.
But my biggest issue is the constant notifications and the the somewhat infantilising nature of the app. I don’t want to earn stars for things. Why? Because I’m not six years old. And the constant reminders to log glasses of water are infuriating. I know I need to drink, but I’ll drink when I’m thirsty, thank you very much. Nagging me to log it all day is ridiculous.
I’m hoping I can get a refund because this app is just awful.

Good so far and not feeling conned.

Despite a goal being to leave a 5 star review on day 2 I’m still continuing with the app. Early days but I’m drawn to persevere with it and signed up to the 3 month Plus option. So far I’ve had a couple of hours of hunger pangs before the end of the fast but it’s not been bad. Then there’s a 6 hour period when you can eat and as there’s only so much a stomach can hold it’s hard to overeat if you follow the sensible menu on offer.
My conclusion: you’ve nothing to lose except some pounds if you download and try out the app for a while and don’t fall prey to the offers that cost £s.

OK…but

I found this app and thought it looked interesting and was encouraged to download it once I read the rave reviews. I decided I would buy a subscription for a year as I was determined to try something new that wasn’t a restrictive diet. Navigating through the app it seemed to indicate I could eat whatever I wanted (within reason) then it seemed to indicate only 2 meals should be taken during non fasting hours. There was also promise of a group chat available within the app which I thought would be helpful. I could find nothing about a group chat until a few days later I was invited to join a Facebook group to which I had to apply for access. I therefore specifically opened up a Facebook account and applied to join the group, although I see there are a few entries on the Facebook search relating to Fastic I wasn’t sure if these were the ‘chats’ they were referring to. So, I emailed their help team got a case number to clarify about the group chat and number of meals and waited and waited for a reply, I sent a chaser and then received a notice of closure of my case without them even answering my email. The site is OK but I don’t think, based on my recent experience, it’s worth paying a subscription for as I think I would have got as much as I needed from the free site. Let’s hope I get access to the Facebook page soon…and an answer to my email.

A life changing app

Honestly, this app has it all. Over lockdown I got very dehydrated as I forgot to drink, my eating schedule was non existent. Add into that me being a long time insomniac and it made day to day life very unpleasant. I also put on weight which made me very insecure. However, this app has changed that so much and it’s only been three days.
You have a water tracker with reminders that has finally got my water intake up to 2L a day and the step tracker which has made me aware that I really need to do more exercise.
But of course, the main attraction is the fasting. Not only does it have a timer with different parts of it labelled so you can SEE when the fat starts to burn, it also gives you loads of lessons on both the process of fasting and on just general life changes. It’s completely stopped me from my irregular meal times and snacking, and as a result I’ve had a better time sleeping and I have more energy throughout the day. I have no doubt that I’ll be losing weight in no time.
In conclusion. The app is great, it puts all the tools to succeed into your hands, all you need is the motivation to follow through with it.

Very engaging app

This app is very engaging to use, and also has really good information that I haven’t seen elsewhere (when ketosis starts, when autophagy starts, and what that means) It’s fun to use and this has kept me going. Only a couple of criticisms - I would like to be able to change the goal length after finishing the fast, because I’ve sometimes accidentally put it longer than I intended. Also I would like to be able to find instructions somewhere, as it took me a little while to sort out how to work it .... but well worth it if you want to try intermittent fasting - I’ve never stuck to it before and this time I have. The reminders are good too.

Road to recovery

After trying numerous diets buying books on the subject of weight loss I came across this by accident what a lucky break. I Have only just started this programme over a week ago already after years of trying to lose weight have already got down to 14st 4lbs from 15-2 tried the 16 hr fast for two days which was pushing it but it broke the back of the trying to lose weight brigade now on the 12 hour fast not religiously following the programme but not breaking the Fast either. I am now seeing that the goal is definitely in sight and my health has improved as well. Very happy to say to anyone give it a go. I think the organisers genuinely care.

Big Fat Exit!

I was determined to nail this intermittent fasting because I want to shift the stubborn pounds of fat that have crept around my body. I have never been overweight in a serious way but with the advancing years a coating of fat has settled and has proved impossible to shift. Time for a much more radical approach, in terms of changing some life long and in some cases, bad habits. Building new habits, exercising some self discipline and determination. Apart from weight loss the other benefits for the brain and the heart IF is the way to go. The FASTIC app is an excellent app, it has been a source of bite sized facts and information that encourages you to continue in the knowledge you are doing good things for you body and your brain and I will continue with this way of eating - losing weight is an incidental benefit. Thankyou FASTIC for the support and encouragement.

Slow and easy steps to lasting, fasting, success

Three days in and I’m enjoying Fastic.
I get clear steps to introduce my body to fasting and staying hydrated and starting to understand what’s the difference between eating through, boredom, anxiety, worry, a need for comfort, and when I actually need to eat.
There are multiple daily, scientifically and medically backed, information blocks, to help you further understand the processes your body is going through.
It’s user friendly, easy to navigate and interactive in a charming way. It’s not overwhelming or overly demanding, the choices given are fully explained to help you choose the path you wish to take. It’s supportive and seems excellent value for money.
Highly recommend it.

As Fantastic as the name suggests

Fastic is an excellently designed app for keeping yourself on target. Whereas most fasting apps are offer lots of variety in the “pick up for a new-year’s resolution, then drop as soon as the going gets hard” category, Fastic’s innovative features like the “streak” you are awarded for maintaining daily fasts and “Frosties” which reward you for sticking to your goals, keep you positive and motivated to continue. This clever gamification of the process is what makes this app stand out from other apps, which are all essentially glorified clocks. Fastic makes healthy living feel as rewarding and manageable as it should really be. A must-have for anyone who wants to give their health a boost.

This app could be better than Zero but needs more options!!

It could be the best intermittent fasting app out there but it lets itself down for 2 main reasons:
There is no option for fasts longer than 23 hours, which is silly as us intermittent fasters implement longer fasts as often as weekly and alternate day fasters (as I am) do 36 hours fasts day in day out and so no option for tracking that way either. Yes you can let the clock run over, but it’s not the same and also if you let it run without accessing the app (busy life and all that) it goes on to stop the clock for you!!!
No iWatch app, please make that available, this day and age, this should be a given with any major app.
The buddy option: it keeps giving the daily task to add a buddy but I have to keep hiding it which gives you somewhat a feeling of failing at what is asked of me but am not interested in sharing this part of my life, maybe this should not be given as a daily task but as a social profile option?
Taking into account that I am talking about the premium version, which is not cheap, hope the developers read this and take note. Honestly, if the above points were met, this would surpass Zero and be hand down the best fasting app out there!

Just getting started with my journey to trying to manage my food life!!

As the sentence above suggests, ‘Food life’! We all have to eat to survive, but for me, it’s short cuts, anything tasty and quick, forget the calories or trying the complication diets. It’s too hard and I hate half fat, this or low carb that, I get bored very easy. However, I tell you what I do like, a challenge! So this app is a very simple to use food management aid, I want to reduce the window of the time I eat, from virtually all day, to 5 then 4, 3 and eventually 2 hours. In doing so, I’m not only reducing the amount of food I eat during the day, but I’m also feeling a little refreshed, less sluggish day by day. Each day I’m reaching my goals and feel quite proud of myself and I love the little health prompts and the guide as to what’s happening within my body as I pass certain milestones during the fast. I would definitely recommend this app for people who want to review their ‘Food Life’.

Amazing App Except for one thing...

The app and the science behind it are truly amazing. I fast for 16 hours 6 times a week, and have never felt better. The lessons are great, and I love being able to see what stage my body is at during the fast.
The reason why I have given it is three stars is because my experience is significantly diminished with the notifications. I started out with notifications on, built up my habit, so I don’t need them anymore, and turned them off.
Oh my god. Every single time I try to do something in the app, it’s borderline harassment to turn them back on again. Instead of one tap to start my fasting phase, I now have to tap 4 times: one to start fasting, two to decline the pop up to switch notifications on, three to confirm that I am sure, and finally four to actually start fasting.
It got so annoying that I switched them back on again, only to find that instead of notifications to just start/end fasting, there’s loads of other rubbish that comes through.
Please just let us seasoned users switch them off and not be bombarded with in-app notifications to switch them on again. We’re already sold on the app and the journey!
For that reason, I have given the app three stars. If it wasn’t for this, it would be 5 stars without question.

Definitely works!

I used this app for 2 months on the 17:7 fast and lost 2 stone. I found fasting worked really well for me because it didn’t restrict the lovely food that I love eating, just meant I had to schedule my meals which is doable! The first week is hard but once you get into the swing of things it is definitely doable.
I do think the app could provide more information on disordered eating and the difference between healthy intermittent fasting and suffering from an eating disorder. I think it can be easy to get carried away with these things, especially for young adult girls who are insecure about their bodies. This is an important issue and I don’t want this app being used for the wrong reasons or encouraging people to push themselves too far. It should perhaps give warnings on the higher fasting phases and a cut off point to indicate when someone may be taking it too far and putting their health at risk, and should prompt the user to speak to a health professional about their habits. Just a couple of ideas. Generally a very good app I just think this aspect should be considered!

Great app and a friend for lifestyle change

I am 60 this year and recently found a letter I’d written to my Mum when living away from home at the age of 19. I talk about being on a diet in the letter which means I’ve been ‘on a diet’ for over 40 years. I have tried them all believe me but thought I’d give IF a try and can honestly say I feel better than I have in ages. My clothes fit better, I have more energy, I’m not hungry and I list 7.5 lbs last week. Do for the diet jaded among you all I would say is give it a go. The app makes it really easy to stick to the fasting and eating times and it reminds you to keep hydrated. I love it. Here’s to my lifestyle change for the next decade.

Helps balance my body

I’d heard of intermittent fasting but had never actively practiced it, except skipping “breakfast”. It’s so easy to overeat during lockdown isn’t it? Stuck at home all day, not as much work and I found I was eating in between meals, even though I didn’t feel hungry, as well as snacking in the evenings right up to bedtime. Yes, it would be nice to
shift that stubborn 8lb I’ve been carrying for two years, but I’m doing IF primarily for health. I love the daily lessons in the app on how IF can help all areas of our existence. I’m eating less (I’m not cutting out a meal but eating 3 smaller meals in an 8-hour window) because I feel fuller. I also have much more energy. It’s a win, win.

Excellent but ...

So far this is excellent, it’s easy to use and lovely to look at. It’s clearly been designed with love. The only reason I’ve dropped a star is because I paid to upgrade and to be honest there really isn’t the additional content to justify nearly £30. The no quibble guarantee isn’t working for me. If you go to the site it tells you to claim through iTunes but iTunes arn’t making it easy. It’s not something that would put me off using the ap and I would be happy to pay less just for the original content itself, so it not a biggy, just a pricy lesson learnt to read the reviews first ! Just be careful before signing up and paying.

Great app

I downloaded the app after a recommendation from a friend, she has lost a fair amount of weight in a short time but had other positive effects to her sleep quality, energy levels and overall well-being.
I have completed day 7 of Fastic. I’m completely new to fasting and have found the Fastic academy very educational. It explains the basics and offers advice and motivation to continue.
I’ve done every fad diet on the market for years. This doesn’t feel like a fad and is more of a change in lifestyle. The Facebook Fastic community is a fabulous source of support, information and sharing of success. It demonstrates that people have used fasting for a number of years and have experienced real benefits from this lifestyle.
I’ve noticed that from day 3 my eating habits have changed and in my eating window I tend to pick low carb, high protein and vegetables in meals. I have increased my water consumption and feel energetic and well. A lifelong insomniac, I have been finding my sleep quality has improved significantly over the past 3 nights. I think I have found a way of eating that is healthy and will adopt long term. Lost 4lb in first week and don’t feel at all deprived.
The Fastic app is great for managing fasting times, as a source of information and recipes. I would recommend this app 100%.
I have given 4 stars because I think it would benefit from being linked to MyFitnessPal or garmin/Fitbit for step tracking.

Genuinely an amazing app!!

Simple, easy to use, does exactly what it says it does. I’ve only been using for a week and haven’t had a weigh in but I feel much healthier and fulfilled and as someone who was previously a binge-eater, I haven’t felt this positively about food and enjoyed my diet so much as I do when using this app.
App takes the time to educated you on the process on losing weight through IF and also teaches you all sorts of other important facts about your health and your body.
Favourite and easiest “diet” I have ever tried in my entire life. I absolutely never go hungry as I have with previous diets as your fasting window and eating window is easy to set up to work for your own eating patterns (I tend to eat meals a bit later than the average person).
While you can pay for a full version if you want it, you absolutely do not need to get it to use important features. All necessary features are available to you completely free.
Also has a handy punchcard type thing to make sure you drink enough water which I’ve found extremely helpful.
You won’t be disappointed with this app, TRUST ME!

Great Except For Frustrating Daily Tasks

This is a great app for intermittent fasting and the lessons it teaches are really informative and bitesized enough to digest, I love that.
However, I have a bit of OCD and when I have tasks flagged to do each day that are allow notifications or add a buddy that I can’t get rid of as I dont like to allow notifications or have a fellow friend who would like the app. It gets a little triggering and I almost deleted the app as seeing these tasks not completed each day and knowing they never will be is a little distracting and gives a feeling of failure rather than the positives this app tries to promote.
If it was possible to remove a task from the list and mark it as something I cant or dont want to do so it doesn’t show in the list that would probably make this app pretty much perfect for what it offers. Fingers crossed its possible to do this as I do really like the app.

A very good app

I readily admit I only began using this app today, and as such cannot attest to any results for myself as yet. However, the app is incredibly well-designed and helpful. The ability to change fast lengths depending on your fasting experience, as well as how much you want to challenge yourself is great and the reminders it sends to drink water and other important tasks really helps keep health habits in check. Perhaps in future an Apple Watch compatible app could be introduced as well? It would be a very convenient way to check your fasting status on the go, especially in situations where checking your phone is less practical. Regardless, highly recommended for anyone looking for a companion to help in fasting.

Great way to kick start a healthier you!!

I was in a real rut and after a period of being pretty good exercise and diet wise had gone down hill over a period of a year or so to the tune of 2 stone and a whole lot of BMI!! I tried kicking starting my old tried and tested methods but just couldn’t get into the swing again until my daughter recommended this app and it just clicked for me - only a couple of weeks in and feeling really good - there’s so much going on in the app and so much encouraging info available around the benefits of the fast period and how to deal with the not so easy days that it almost distracts from any difficult periods. I have to say I’m calorie counting during the non fasting hours and I’m not going bonkers with treats, there again I’m not nibbling rabbit food either. I would recommend you keep in control of your calorie intake and choose wisely and take note of the prompts and lessons included in the app because although it says you can eat most things in moderation if you go down the 3 mars bars a day route fasting isn’t going to save you - all in all it’s worked for me and gave me the kick start to get back in control - highly recommended - a big thumbs up 👍👏

Perfect

I’ve lost weight before, but struggled this time. I don’t want to log my food every time I eat, and keep having to say no to things I really want. Life is too short! But something had to give, or else be content with the extra weight.
Fastic was my last ditch attempt at dropping the stone I couldn’t seem to shift. One week in and 5 pounds down already. I can eat what I want, and still go out, have a drink and socialise. I do the 16:8. So 16 hour fast, half of which I am asleep for, and an 8 hour eating window. I eat sensibly, but if I want a bar of chocolate, or a glass of wine (cocktails last night!) I have it. Normally I fast from 6pm to 10am. But if like last night I indulge socially, the app just pushes on the fasting window. It’s so easy to do.
I like the motivational science around it. If my willpower starts to drop, I can see what is happening in my body according to where I am in the fasting cycle. So just an hour more to go.
A reward system allows for cheat days but I haven’t needed them so far.
What more can I say? Fasting appears to work for me. Losing inches, dropping weight. You could do it without the app, but for me it keeps me “honest” and it also sends reminders direct to my Apple Watch. So it’s like having your own coach. Top marks!

So you want an eating disorder?

If you ever wanted an eating disorder but didn’t know where to begin look no further. This app rewards starving yourself for 23 hours a day with jingly bright stars and calls it ‘professional’.
There is no information on safe limits, or how long you should keep up your ana- adjacent exploits, the only encouragement you get is to do more and more self-starvation. There is some attempts to be ‘and this is the science’ which sound authoritative, but are often misleading, one-sided or just plain pseudoscience. Food combining? Really? That thing that was rubbish in the 70s and hasn’t got any less rubbish with time. The main focus seems to be to make any eating you do manage to fit into your ‘window’ as complicated and calorie deficient as possible.
If you care about your health and well-being, delete this app. Eating disorders kill, and not eating for 23 hours a day *is* an eating disorder whatever fancy science-y sounding terminology it hides itself behind.

Simple app, good results, annoying notifications

The app is great apart from a small point. You may think it’s silly but after a while it gets annoying. I’ve been fasting 17:7 for a few weeks now and feeling good. I will say though-developers, if you’re reading this, the notifications don’t seem to sink with the app that well and it’s pretty annoying and lets the smooth and good looking app down a bit in my opinion. if I have a time change for when I start before a fast for whatever reason it still notifies me to tell me I should start when at the wrong times. It then tells me to start the timer quite often even though it’s not time. I would turn the notifications off but I like the nudges to drink more water. Apart from this, I have used it every day so far.

Day 3

So I’m only on my third day using Fastic, so I’m not sure how my opinion of the app will change going forward.
Pros: very nice layout, user friendly, has the fasting tracker that works quite well.
Room for improvement:
Currently I can set me fasting time. I fast from 4pm-8am. However, if I break my fast at 8:30, the timer still tells me to start fasting at 4. It would be great if stopping the fasting timer would start an eating timer depending on what ratio you have chosen to follow. Then the window would adjust and I personally would feel like the app was taking away a stressor.
Additionally the reminders to drink water are at strange times. I get four or five in the morning but none in the evening! I thought I might be based on the length of time since I last entered that I drank, but no. Every day 9-12 I get multiple notifications and then none until about 3pm. I’d like that to be improved.

Avoid

I tried Fastic as new to intermittent fasting. Paid for the subscription and it led to me their Facebook and Instagram accounts. The Facebook group has obviously had no admin for a long time and the group has a lot of competitive posts about seeing how long people can fast for. Some people were undertaking 21 day water only fasts. When I voiced my concerns I was met with aggression and bullying. I reported it to the Fastic team, they only replied on Twitter lots of others said they struggled to get any responses. They have apparently increased admin and are going to do retraining but I left the group and have asked for a refund as it’s completely toxic and the Fastic team have let the Facebook group get totally out of control to the point that it is dangerous both mentally and physically if you follow it. Keep looking there are lots of other apps out there that do the same thing, I’d avoid this if you value your health! Ps refund apparently not available as Fastic refer you to Apple and Apple won’t refund so don’t waste your money!

New to this but good so far

I’m on Day 3 and enjoying the app so far. The prompts to drink are helpful and I like how it talks you through the different stages of your fast. I logged onto the community last night and found all the previous complaints were true. Very little helpful discussion about fasting, and most from a much younger age group and different time zone.
So THANK YOU for the change to WhatsApp today which is a far more supportive and mature group with helpful tips from other UK nationals. I’d really like to see a calorie counter integrated into this app, as fasting only works with a calorie deficit. Also, it would be ideal to be able to manually add in other activities that your iPhone step counter cannot count, eg. swimming. Thanks.

Please give it a go

Yes you’ve probably looked through numerous weight loss apps before and tried all sorts of different things just like I did, you might even be reading this and thinking “yeah but it doesn’t apply to my situation it won’t help me”
Trust me, give this app and the idea behind it a go. It has helped me combat my comfort eating related to depression which I’ve had for just over 10 years and has stopped me always thinking about food food food and craving all the bad types of food, chocolate, biscuits, pizza, burgers, etc. Please give this a ago , I would hate for someone out there that might be in a similar mindset/situation to me to miss out on the benefits this app and idea has to offer.

Free Version Is Enough

My husband and I downloaded this app to try a new approach to our weight loss journeys. The free version is perfect - we found it really motivating and easy to use, and it shows all the information regarding the stage of fasting you’re currently in, and has weight, water and step trackers. I upgraded to the premium version with high expectations but sadly, it seems to not offer much more. You have access to recipes (some with very high calories, but if you’re fasting most of the day this is probably why) and it gives you a little motivational challenge each day such as throw out all your treats 🤨. Other than that I can’t see anything else you get. I won’t renew my subscription but will defiantly continue to use the free version!

Good, but Community feature is ridiculous

I really like the fasting tracker and the information it gives you about what is happening in your body at different points throughout your fast. It’s motivating to see how long you’ve got and that if you break the fast too early you might as well not have fasted at all.
However, the community feature is an absolute joke. It’s hard to interact with people you want to really have a conversation with and the rest of it is just what seems to be kids or at least very immature people taunting each other and writing messages that make little sense. It’s definitely not the supportive community that it’s made out to be and most people aren’t writing about the app. Really disappointed as I’ve used communities on other forums and found them very motivating. This one makes me want to delete the app!

Life changing

I never write reviews but this app is so good! The way this app tracks the activity happening in your body as you fast is always motivational. Oh—my blood sugar is already settling down, why break fast now? The window it sets for eating and the assumption you’ll fast again helps you roll from one day to the next. The frosty system is paced really well. It gives you chips that you earn and can use to take days off.
The meal tracking function is clunky and not very useable. Could do with some work. I think it should feel more like a diary than it does, or maybe a bigger picture window to see your food retrospectively.
My guilt around eating/not eating has changed dramatically. I’ve tried IF and OMAD before but always gave up quickly. There’s something very easy about IF now I’m using Fastic that feels like it could just be my new lifestyle around eating. Highly recommend!

It just plain works!

At 60+ this app, the free version, has given me a new lease of life. In 48 days I have gradually lost 7.4kgs- over 16lbs. ‘18.6’ has become a way of life and to be honest it is easy. Just black/green tea, black coffee and water until mid day; eat what I want until 6pm and then stop. I have made a couple of diet changes; no cows milk and a green salad with salt and dressing at some point every day. I have also quit booze for an initial period of three months since April 1. My diet changes may continue to eventually exclude wheat and include daily kafir but that will be for after lock down ends. Alongside this I have an exercise regime for 5 days a week; three days with a single kettlebell circuit of 11 exercises and two with a 10 minute HIT workout using ‘Downdog HIT’. Just before 6pm there is a lovely coffee with full goats milk and 2 squares of 70% dark chocolate. A highlight of each day and a perfect way to start fasting again. I feel slimmer, fitter and I am close to being under 12 stone; a weight I last was over 40 years ago. Certainly a 5 star outcome from a free app!

Really good potential.

So I’ve tried this app and another one and by far this is a good app specially with all the information that’s provided as well as dishing out more info along your journey. The community it creates is a good thing too. There’s just a few things that could be added to the app and the community to make this even more worthwhile.
In terms of the app it’s to do with the “buddy’s” there should be a motivate button as I’ve seen some of the people I’ve added as a buddy have not seem to continue, dieting and trying to get healthier is best with some motivational support which the fb page has agreed that there should be one. Also before I forget there needs to be a basic splash page of “what you can have and what not to have while fasting” as a lot of people either don’t read back or research this themselves which clutters the chat/community page.
As with the fb and community group there needs to be an admin that will post up a sticky for people to read like a “WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW” since people don’t actually read FAQs.
Other than that it’s a great app to help on a weight loss journey.
