Dull & Exploitative
This is a blatant pay-to-play ponzi game. The objective is to torture you with increasingly slower construction, training and investment speeds until you finally crack and pay to make it go faster. We’re not talking a few hours, but actual months.
There’s no strategy and frankly no dopamine hit. You have no freedom to build out your city, or conquer and take over other turfs. In fact, attacking other players will either reduce your influence (even if you win) or keep it unchanged. There is no motivation to attack others. This is an endless grind. The babe games/dates are lame and the story line suddenly drops off and doesn’t return.
Even if you join a decent faction you will be forced to follow elaborate rules like NAP agreements, not touching certain tiles etc. It’s obvious that established people in clans have a sense of self-importance and you guessed it, if you thought you’d play and chitchat to decompress, you’d better think again. This environment replicates the corporate manoeuvring and politicking. It is what corporate salivated about when they attempted to implement strategy games. Here it is in full display!
Last but not least the constant bombardement to buy is exhausting. It’s impossible to turn it off and you’re constantly harassed to JUST buy a $99 pack. The integration is unbelievably slick and you could accidentally spend it as they’ve integrated Apple Pay within each purchase request. There is only one objective and that’s to rinse your wallet.

used to work on macbook, but now the app won't open. Update November 2024: App now working again on MacBook, but was designed to be used with a mouse, so the touchpad will not work for zoom in/out nor speed of reaction as there is a 1 second delay between “clicking” and the actual action. Pity as it would have been a nice gaming experience.

More and more convoluted, mostly non-mafia related content, after a couple of years the maps become an open wild west rampage with people who live on the game and spending every penny they get on it.. attacking 30 times a day. No option to play a map or a setting that restricts these peoples interactions with you.

Appeared to be a good game, but after 20 minutes of joining I joined 3 factions. All telling me to go to discord where I was told they spent too much money on game but could send me a link to something better. Sort it out!
Every faction on the list appeared to be similarly named and couldn’t find a genuine person in the game at all.

Developers don’t care about players
Been playing for YEARS spent lots of money over those years, but when the worlds second biggest clan came into town and started raiding me, my phone which was next to me did not tell me I was being raided as it is supposed to, it was only due to chance that I logged into the game just before the last raid hit which would have fully wiped me out. Had the game been working correctly I would have seen a notification with a 5min warning telling me I was about to take a raid. They raided me 3 times and I received no notification. I showed the developers proof, with screenshots and all I get in response from the developers is “it sent okay our end so there is nothing we can do” so you can spend years or thousands of ££ building an army and you can lose it all to a technical glitch. Don’t waste your money or time on this game, the developers don’t care and won’t fix their mistakes.

Friends account hacked, bank account hacked. Trolls are everywhere to the point they bullied friends off the game and their mental health is much better. I used to play the grand mafia for over 1 year it used to be high addictive and recently I try helping my friend log in back to his account and I got banned for recourse trading and it was because he had over 1 billion in recourse and whenever I hop on the app it says contact gm but just leads me they’re when I send picture the same message comes up but the game in reality is very fun and addictive and I hope the developers could get back to me as soon as possible!

Updates everyday
I have had the game since September 2023. At the start it was amazing, no issues and game run smooth. In the last 4 months there have been small updates everyday which leave my game running super slow, I no longer receive notifications for messages, or events when the game is closed. I had this fixed for a week but another update this morning 24/4/2024 has caused the game to run slow again and no longer send me notifications. Attempted to delete and reinstall but hasn’t fixed the problem. GM does not respond to any issues. I sent through 2 reports in January 2024 and only received my first response 16/4/24 to which I was asked “am
I still having the same issue” to which I replied yes with evidence and again no response since.
When the game runs smooth it’s amazing but they are forever adding small updates every other day which just cause issues and no one replies to problems.

Good Game
I've been playing this for over a year now. I've not had to spend real money in the game as you do get plenty of gold and speed ups to help you progress. The only thing that I would suggest is better/ defence gear that can help smaller or minimal spenders the chance to defend themselves without putting up a shield or chance to capture the attackers underboss. The packs never change the only ones that do change are the enforcers and they cost a loads after the first few packs and to get the to gold status will definitely put a hole in your pocket.

Beware of Unethical Practices - The Grand Mafia Review
I feel compelled to share my experience with “The Grand Mafia” to warn others about potential issues with the game’s customer service and payment system. Recently, a member of our faction encountered a distressing situation that sheds light on the unethical practices within the game.
One of our faction members made a purchase within the game and was double charged for it. Understandably, she reached out to the game’s customer service team to rectify the issue and request a refund. However, instead of receiving prompt assistance, she faced a nightmare. The customer service team not only ignored her requests for a refund but also resorted to blackmail when she persisted. Shockingly, when she attempted to share evidence of this mistreatment within our faction messages, she was muted by the game administrators, effectively silencing her and denying her the opportunity to seek support from fellow players.
This appalling behavior from the game’s support team showcases a blatant disregard for player welfare and highlights the risks associated with investing money in “The Grand Mafia.” Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue, the lack of response and accountability from the game’s administrators only exacerbated the situation, leaving our faction member frustrated and disillusioned.
It’s disheartening to see such unethical practices tarnishing what could be an enjoyable gaming experience. The lack of transparency and accountability from the game’s customer service team is concerning and raises serious doubts about the integrity of “The Grand Mafia.”
In conclusion, I advise potential players to exercise caution before investing money in this game. The risk of encountering similar issues and the lack of support from the game’s administrators make it difficult to justify spending money on “The Grand Mafia.” Until the developers address these issues and prioritize player welfare, I cannot in good conscience recommend this game.

I’ve been playing the game for 1-2 years.
It’s safe to verify the enjoy the game and have made plenty associated along the way.
However, it’s fair to say I’m at my wits end, as I believe the only way you can progress in the game is to invest heavily both with time and financially.
The original gamers and those who have invested heavily benefit with the game is quite transparent and evident.
As I’ve learnt and accepted the reality your progression can be decreased by 80-90% in a instant by other players within an instance.
Hence, having go start all over time and money to progress.
The game requires players to build troops, buildings and influence of character is increased by these elements. Which requires time and effort to build, but sadly one attack by gamers can enable you to
Loose all your troops and progression.
Without a doubt now I strongly feel the game is far from adequate measures financially or fair play.
I’ve submitted a complaint and will be a looking to address the matters further with an ombudsman and legal team if necessary.

Great game, great social however be prepared to spend £1.5-2k just to keep up with mid tier players and not be disadvantaged unless you can play 24/7
You can play for free but will literally take years to achieve modest gains at normal playing levels
Governors War always favours the rediculously large groups who clearly pay the most like 3-4x your groups size.
Best features and best items/enforcers etc all require hundreds of pounds to unlock and upgrade.

Won’t let me in the app anymore
I’ve been playing this game for about 6 weeks, have progressed very well in the game and put a LOTTT of effort into it, all to find out they now won’t let me get in the app anymore??? If this can be fixed I’ll change my review to 5star and explain how it’s a great game, but it’s getting a 1 star for now as they’re taking away all my hard work I’ve done on this game for the past 6 weeks.
My recommendation is genuinely don’t bother with this game people, because you’ll put a lot of hard work and effort in for AGESS and they’ll suddenly just decide not to let you in the app anymore and just give you a grey screen instead. How absolutely frustrating!!!!

I was about to download this game until I read all of the reviews and it seems like all games through the App Store these days the game is unbalanced, the big spenders rule the roost and go around beating on the smaller players that don’t spend much very unbalanced by the sound of it, and like all games now they charge the Earth for their packages make their money then close the game down they don’t think the long-term just like Mafia Origin. Awesome game and I love it but I think the price of the packs is way too high! We’re not all made of money! And the higher levels factions being pitted against the lower level factions is not a good idea! I think there should be tiers where factions have to be at certain levels to compete with other factions at similar levels! Other than that it’s an awesome game! If you just lower the price of the packs to a more affordable price than it currently is then I would give it the full 5 stars as opposed to the 4 I have rated it! It’s literally just the two issues that are stopping me from rating it at 5 stars 🌟

Been playing the game for a couple of months. To be fair the game is a good however the lack of response se from support when you have an issue is disgraceful. I had 5k worth of gold bars removed from my account due a clutch and the 5k worth of gold bars have not been replaced. The only form go support is an automated system called GM which never responds to you.

You get drawn deeper into the game each time you play. The lure of becoming a bigger, more powerful player makes it difficult to quit. It is by no means cheap to play.
Another observation regarding the expense, content and cost of packs is that it is unfathomable why because mansion is, say below level 10, that the highest cost pack should contain nothing near the content of all packs when the mansion level is 25. It’s a complete ripoff to see that a £99 pack at mansion 1 to 10 contains literally nothing of value for value. The contents of one such pack was:
1 Quick donation, 1 x 1 Day shield, 1 x 100XP, 1 x 500k of each resource

Great game but unbalanced aspects
Great game, getting to know my faction and building up my crew. It can get expensive if you want to advance quickly. But the choice is always yours.. though it’s very easy become a bit addicted but again about individual choices. My real gripe is the inequality in Governor Wars.. this last one we landed with a very powerful faction and it was spoilt from the very outset of the GW.. quite a few of our faction left.. and it is quite painful after investing in your crew to be annihilated by a force that you cannot battle against.. they simply took all the resources and farmed our faction.. absolutely nothing we can do.. really frustrating.. would be *much* *much* better if all the factions in a GW area were equally matched..

It takes over a year to reach t4 which can completely annihilate everything that comes before it. Unless of course if you spend a few thousand £ it eliminates the wait which many people do. Within the first few weeks, I had fun then after a month or so people within my own faction started attacking me whenever I was offline and stole all of my equipment and they hold my underboss hostage and refused to release him until I had no resources left! Use to be a good game
I loved this game been playing a little over 18 months but now it’s just all about devs making more and more cash with no real change in the game itself . For instance cvc, Gw prep and faction call up all the same time money money money there’s players already leaving the game and more will follow with because of this

Good game but impossible to reach out for help
Love the game, been playing over 2 years however I have an ongoing issue since the very start where my autocorrect in game chat is not working. I have reached out to GM numerous times about this and never got a response unfortunately.

Don’t dare ask for a refund
God forbid you’re unhappy with a purchase and request a refund The devs with block your account because you’re unhappy with purchases. Prices are a con staged pricing start at 99p 3rd stage was £50 who makes up these prices. Also I’m sure the banning of the account because a customer is unhappy with a purchased product this type of practice is illegal in the U.K. I’d avoid this game at all costs. Still waiting on my refund but yet I’m banned from playing, so what is it then you going to give me my account back or my money?

Awful
I really do like this game but unfortunately they had charged me twice for one of the packs I managed to get a refund but once they were alerted that I had asked for a refund they had restricted my account and now after 2 days they have full restricted my account so I can’t even play it, and they say the only way to resume playing is for me to pay £99 to reactivate. I have tried contacting the support team but I have not gotten a reply this is absolutely ridiculous

Great Game but….
Been playing this around a year and yes I’m addicted and yes spent lots of money, game play is great enjoy having some good battles with other factions,one thing I would say is the game packs are way over priced and for a custom turf skin you would have to spend over £2k ( at least) also in GW they need to be balanced between factions, such as a 60billion faction playing against a 15b faction, the 15 billon faction stands no chance and ruins there chance to advance in GW so it’s over before it begins! the game is so unbalanced with this and needs to be addressed before GW loses its appeal. In City’s it’s fine because you can choose to move city’s! And I also think that you should gain some influence if you are battling because some players just sit on there influence rather than losing any. Translator could be better but it more or less does what it’s suppose to do. (80% of the time) it certainly is a game that relies on you spending money (and a lot of it) as strength is everything. So because of the price of packs and the game is built around you spending money and GW is so unbalanced I’m giving 4 stars, I was going to give 3 stars but felt that was unfair on the game because it’s a good game. Maybe if the above can be addressed that the game would get more 5 stars. One last thing I just remembered, contacting support is not up to much as you hardly ever get a reply.

Great game.
I’ve been playing this game for about 6 months now and I’m honestly addicted. I play it everyday. The game is so good in terms of being able to play the game without spending money. There’s always so many different events going on as well. I would highly recommend playing this game👍🏻

Entertaining, but you need deep pockets
Game is pretty entertaining but it does feel at times it gets over complicated and things are bolted on rather than integrated.
However, the difference between the weaker players is disheartening as you get flattened hourly making it impossible to grow. Even if you purchase a pack or 3 it makes no difference. To do that you’re gonna have to spend hundreds. And people do, making it really no fun if you don’t.

This game has got some serious problems now as I’ve had a problem with my faction hotel since October and is still not rectified at all so it means I can’t take part in some of the events to help out my team mates . Waste of time if you don’t spend huge sums
I played this game for 3 months. Landed up on the wrong side of a faction that had huge wallets so level 25 were wilfully attacking much lower levels with abandon and no penalty. As a result my underboss was imprisoned and executed every 3 days. No underboss means no development and no game play essentially you just become a farm for the big wallets.
Eventually deleted the app because it was a total waste of time and totally frustrating. When these developers impose a penalty system to control bullying and victimising by so-called city mayors etc - stay away or sell your house to pay to get to level 25 with all options maxed to full tilt - then you can enjoy the boredom from the other perspective

Great Game Awful Support
This game is amazing and addictive and I really enjoy it. The support you get from the developers is terrible they have a GM feature that you can use to report bugs and you get no reply - they have a Facebook messenger page and they don’t reply. They only seem to care about the players to pay to win 🤷🏻♂️

Good fun and addictive
I’ve played a number of similar games over the years and this is definitely the best of the genre. There are lots of ways to get free speed-ups and resources which is usually the challenge and I have found that searching through different interfaces to find opportunities to develop my Underboss and enforcers has been addictive. I finally gave in a spent real money, which I don’t usually do, and have found a good faction to play in - virtual ‘friends’ at least. The loss of a star, in my case, and this isn’t really a reflection on the gameplay itself, is the disproportionate strength of players who seemingly spend LOTS of money. They are able to move around the game at ease beating up the little guy and are almost untouchable because of their strength. Takes some of the fun out of it - it’s just a bit imbalanced. Money always buys strength, but those who only spend a little (or none) get easily left behind. The developers are milking their game for every penny, rather than playing a longer term strategy - and that is frustrating. Otherwise it would have been a 5-star review.

Was really enjoying building my empire played about 3 months but didn’t attack other players but got fed up of others attacking and losing troops to hospital for a day or so.
Should have a opt out button for attacks as was happy playing in game story mode and building up but now deleted app as got fed up being attacked for no reason.

Decent start! But then nothing…
The game introduces you to several cutscenes and tutorials about the story your character (John) and your close associates are part of. They’re fun and interesting, and the game initially is pretty easy to follow considering it’s a strategy game with a lot of features. But then a few missions later, nothing. Just the same gameplay over and over again with limited story. Before you know it, you’ll get much more experienced players going after you, and the game is quite unforgiving if you lose a battle on your turf. You’ll also find that you’re fooled into thinking the game isn’t pay to win at first, but it definitely is, and the micro transactions are unusually expensive considering their value.
Decent game, certainly room for improvement and potentially could become a great strategy game. For now, three stars out of five.

Can only play the introduction…
So my iPhone 11 Pro for some reason cannot play this game past the introduction, once the intro is done the game freezes and then never loads again with the same pointless error about no internet connection…. My friend who has an iPhone 7 can play this no issues at all. Very annoying as I’d actually like to play the game.
This is the same for WiFi or mobile data, my phone is also on the latest IOS version (15.4.1) and I’ve reinstalled the game and restarted my phone multiple times ? Any help from the developer would be great

I have been playing this for some time already and I gotta admit it is absolutely awesome game. But the only thing bothers me now is what on earth happened to Olivia? And the other babes also look like they just had a fake plastic surgery. I appreciate effort you guys put into this game constantly improving things but in my opinion something went wrong with improving babes. I want my old Olivia and Iskania back :(

Hmm
Have been playing this for a while now with no issues. However recently I have been unable to use ‘gold’ to heal troops it just egg times. Then the ‘diamond’ count does not increase despite ‘robbing’ approximately 700k worth and adding a large number more through tasks and general creation. I have messaged the in app GM to no avail and have no interest in contacting via Facebook.
This needs sorting ASAP please

A good game with no ads
It’s a good game. Think FarmVille for mob bosses. My only gripe is the subscription charge they offer. £22 a month is steep especially given what limited resources you get. If this was reduced to £9.99 a month a lot more people would sign up for it and therefore the developers would earn more money.

So I installed this game from and ad that’s one thing the ads are tempting and it’s pretty cool i know is what to do and when to not to something but I won’t mention because it’s my way and tactic overall I like the game and it just needs that one thing to make in stand out and be really unique but I definitely recommend it

Very addictive and EXPENSIVE!
The game itself is very good and very addictive. Joining the right right faction in the right city can certainly introduce you to some great characters from around the world. However….. The amount of money needed to be anywhere near competitive is ridiculous!!! From gold, or diamonds for investments to packs to get new enforcers and new gear it’s way over priced! You see people with over 300million plus who have spent over $10k USD!! Which for a mobile game is mental! If we want to meet people and not be very strong in the game then by all means this is the game for you. If you want to compete be prepared to spend BIG or by a car!

Awful & Extremely Sexist
I downloaded this game thinking it would be fun and exciting but then found out in the first couple of minutes they treat women as if they’re weak, sell women, and it teaches men how to completely disrespect women. It’s not only sexist in that way but you can only be one gender which I find annoying because it’s assuming only boys will play or that woman are incapable of things men can do. I don’t recommend and although it’s already rated a 17 I definitely do not recommend for kids, teens or Anyone to be honest as it just gives out the wrong message. Personally I don’t think these games should exist but at least add different genders and please make it less sexist and disgusting .

I’m enjoying the game but they as with every game reward the people who can afford to spend the money on it.
You may get attacked and your wall breaks then before it’s even repaired you get attacked again and again and again.
Once you have been attacked and your wall destroyed there should be something in place that doesn’t allow you to be attacked again till it’s repaired

Very costly and can be very stressful
Been playing over a month now spent a lot of cash some of it I really love it’s a grate, sorry can be a great place to aid luring all sorts of interesting new things meeting new friends from all over the world, and Can help your mental health, ( i know it’s helped mine) but your charging way to much and the customer service and lack of admin and control is shocking you really should consider making players some sort of admin and you should definitely give the admin a discount wink winks jokes but Seriously I’d be up for that and I know 100s more would do great work on the game ,you guys just need to tweak a few things and it will be 5 starts from me come on guys people are throwing money at you sort your head out you melt’s your making enough cash 💰 shorely 🤯🤦♂️🦁🤣🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Came over from mafia city wish I hadn’t bothered
This game was shouted out by a few in mafia city as the new version & improved of the game so I thought it was worth a shot, it really isn't
This game feels like a hollow empty shell compared to the now 4 year old mafia city their is little to do other than waste time growing and attack other players,
The chat is horrible to try and follow as nothing can be tagged as a reply you can only tag the person.
You are not notified that your faction mates are under attack so you never get warning that they may need assistance or even that you may be the next attacked,
It’s hard to do anything time sensitive as every time you try to load the game or switch between your turf and map you are bombarded by advertisements to buy packs,
I’m glad I kept my mafia city account active maybe one day this game will get better but I have my doubts

Have an issue with lots of speed ups disappearing and I’ve been chasing for support for ages and each time I get a response or just says, what can I help you with and they ignore my messages. Then I tell them again and days later they respond again how can I help you!
Don’t waste your time playing this game, you get invested then the game becomes frustrating to play. Definitely don’t waste money you don’t to. It’s all they want to con you out of money.
Update: they’ve responded to my review to go to Facebook which I did ages ago they told me to go to in game support GM. Still not resolved still a complete joke. DO NOT BOTHER DOWNLOADING THIS GAME

Great game
Been playing this a few days now and it’s very interesting and fun to play it has very similar layout and mechanics as another game I play this made it easy to figure the game out from the start so I already know what my tactic will be to become one of the most powerful f2p player it could however do with something different from other games as I said earlier it resembles another title to a tea and I already know everything about this game and how it works and what will come I know exactly when to stop upgrading my mansion for reasons I won’t say because that’s my tactic but in a nutshell great game and very well put together just needs that little new thing to separate it from the rest
