The best data roaming experience
I love how progressive Honest Mobile are. I first started using their Smart SIMs to manage the signal drop off with O2.
Then I had a trip to SE Asia in November 2024, which was not covered by O2 Data Roaming and was absolutely joyous when Honest Mobile stepped up to the plate. No extra costs for data and it just worked. The apps back then were a little limited, but enough to get around.
Nowadays, what has been done is absolutely brilliant and I am ever so grateful to have moved from a monthly plan to an annual plan - the savings are amazing!
Highly recommend as your backup SIM and travel SIM all in one!

Climbing Rocks, Not Losing Signal
Big bouldering fan, but I always struggled to find the best routes in areas without phone signal. Not a problem anymore with the Smart SIM—now I’ve got full access to my apps, even in the middle of nowhere. Rock on.

Unbearable service
Been subscribed to the smart sim for 9 months, it is a game changer when travelling. I don’t worry about data or anything. Just land and connect right away, app coverage for almost everything I use and they’re adding more and more. I am really tempted to dump my regular sim and just keep theirs full time even in the UK.
Seems like a ridiculously good company and I wish them all the success.

Using it around north London. Load speeds really aren’t great. I thought this would be better than using lyca mobile as a back up. I wonder if I can get my money back?

Not at all clever
App logs out frequently. To get back in, you need to receive an email verification. If you’re on their Smart SIM, you can’t access email without WiFi.
App shows 4 notifications but not a clue what they are. Can’t find anyway.
Also they lie about the price of their tariff. You have to pay for an entire year upfront.

Utter joke!
Don’t waste your time or your money.
As usual, if it’s on facebook, it’s useless!Saw, clicked, downloaded, paid, not working, can’t log in.
From start (long winded) to finish (more hassle than it should be) the process was a pain and now my phone constantly says ‘Network Offline’ unless I switch back to my normal SIM which completely defeats why I got this one!
The app is rubbish and only let me log in the first time to buy a new eSIM from them and now continually fails to let me log in.
Conclusion: £45 wasted and an absolutely USELESS service and waste of time and effort.
The moment I can log in (if it ever lets me) I’ll be cancelling.
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Top company, but app has one issue
Being logged out every day or so really does take away from what would otherwise be a 10/10 experience. App is top, customer service is top, and use as my main provider. Just need a fix for this issue now and then I have nothing else to say!!

SmartSIM - evolving and getting better
Very attractive idea - a data SIM that saves you in those dark holes of reception with your current across London plus the bonus of global data roaming with key apps that matter - all for £5 per month or less on the annual plan?
Happy to support any new innovation, I was all in and expected teething problems.
In London I have not noticed much benefit, but it does seem to switch networks when my own is iffy.
Roaming - I travel a lot - and the convenience of have the basics connected with no additional hassle is phenomenal. It has saved me money and time, gives me the confidence of being able to communicate and navigate. Do I miss full use of all apps - yes, but at this price I will live with it. I have had to buy other eSims do to work needs, but for the most part balancing WiFi access with this SmartSIM is enough.
And the customer support is responsive, they are listening and encouraging feedback. I have great hopes for this to only get better and I sincerely hope that enough people subscribe and pay to help them keep this price point.

Got the smart sim and thought this would be great for moving around, only to see it only works for certain applications.
You can get yourself a normal sim that only works on three? The whole idea was to use multiple networks.
Don’t bother if you’re looking for multi network capabilities.

Bit rubbish really
I’m with sky, I liked the idea of this because sky piggy back o2 and o2 signal is very bad in my area. But I only seem to get sky or o2 on this smart sim and it’s a little pointless when I’m already using the o2 network. EE is best in my area and I’ve never jumped to the EE network not once. So I’m a little disappointed as feel like I’m paying for nothing.

Avoid at all!!
I never lost my time writing a review on app/company but this Honest Mobile is awful! Horrible signal many apps not work with this data. And it’s only data. Avoid it. Customer service is poor. I’m sure this reviews is all fake.

I’ve tested with their smart sim
Yes you are getting a different networks but there is very limited speed, I couldn’t load any pictures and used only 50MB a month. Avoid, great concept but disappointment with their service.

An Honest company with Honest pricing
Excuse the pun, but joking aside, really can’t fault them, their customer service really is on another level. They are always on hand. I have been dealing with George lately; no complaints. This really is a company that are going places. And give back to the planet, if you care about your carbon footprint then you can have a clean conscience with being with honest as they plant trees to help off set, and you can be in for the chance of winning your monthly payment back when you pay an extra £1 per month to plant extra trees.

Not honest?
The initial advertising explicitly said they use all 4 networks to maximise signal. The sign up process says they only use the Three network because it’s the best for 5G, which is why I’m with iD Mobile and it’s dirt cheap whereas Honest want £13.50 a month for 4GB SIM only 🤦♂️
Update: they clarified. It’s a separate specific data-only SIM that uses the 4 networks and it only works with 40 specific apps, not web browsing. Advertising is (ironically) misleading and obviously hooks you in without saying any of that. I feel lied to by Honest.

Not for me
Tried the beta smart sim. Not impressed. Wasn’t straight forward to set up.
Got cold feet so decided to close my account having deleted the non functioning eSIM and now trapped in a circle where I click close my account and it takes me to unrelated support conversations.
It should be an easy and automated process. They were quick enough to take my money when I signed up.
Really not a fan of companies who set themselves up like this.

Save your money. I had it for almost two weeks and driving all over in and around London and I had network issues worse than before, and complete network crashes as it was trying to switch to the eSIM. I had bought the complete package but I could not rip the benefits. I had worse signal than before and also found out that the best network is 3 mobile. I don’t know how they’re gonna make this service work when all other networks are rubbish and have poorer signal where 3 is struggling to connect and where three has full bar. The poor signal in the UK is because Huawei is uninstalling many masts following the spying scandal. And the networks now have way less coverage. Conclusion: massive fail.

Misleading Ads
The prices they advertise are a complete scam—what they actually charge is way higher. If I had known how much they’d gouge us, I wouldn’t have wasted my time or my friends’ time getting on their ridiculous waiting list. It’s outright deception, and from a company that dares to call itself ‘Honest’? What a joke! Their dishonesty is outrageous, and I feel completely betrayed. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this place like the plague. This is a classic bait-and-switch operation!

Not very transparent for a company called “Honest”
Had to sign up for a waiting list and add two referrals before I was invited to join the app. And go through pages of hype about how great it’s going to be. Only to see that the pricing for a normal data plan was way over priced compared to competitors like ID mobile. and the data only sim is severely handicapped by only being able to use 6 apps,
2 banking apps for banks I don’t use
google maps, city mapper, Uber and WhatsApp (doesn’t support WhatsApp calls)
Why would anyone want unlimited data if you can only send texts and get directions. Pretty misleading marketing imo.

Changed system and broke everything
Firstly in my opinion. Since the rebranding the whole company look very generic and boring.
Secondly the update completely broke my app, I can no longer use the app to access perks or customise my contract.

Glad I switched
I was a bit apprehensive about switching as I’d always been with EE before and orange before that. I never had an issue with them or their signal, the prices were just getting ridiculous.
I’d never really heard good things about Three (who Honest use to piggy back on) but to my surprise after doing a speed test where their signal was strongest, I was pulling in over 750mb! They do have a bit of work to do with 5G, where you would expect to get it like a city centre where I live, it was spotty at best. Overall though I’m happy with it.
More importantly switching has reduced my phone bill by more than 50% and even more when the loyalty bonuses increase. If Honest Mobile keeps to their word and makes some more innovative moves as they have even doing, they’ll be poaching customers left right & centre.

I had done my port more than a month ago and it still shows the old number in the app. I cannot change any setting by myself, I’ll always have to contact support. They seem to don’t care about it at all.

Block content can’t be saved or changed on the app, I had to contact someone about it. Also, I wouldn’t mind being able to see my data usage… can’t change the sim nickname? It’s very very basic… customer service ain’t bad, only available in certain times. Which is fine I suppose?

Switch ! Amazing Service
I was with Honest Mobile and decided to switch due to the cost and cheaper offer however after a year I have huge regrets and wish I stayed with Honest!
Honest was fast, reliable and never once had an issue, you really get amazing quality data and service and is worth paying for, I switched to three and they lie about their coverage in comparison to Honest who I’ve always had amazing service with even on a fast train in the middle of nowhere in Spain still worked a charm.

Exactly what it says on the tin…. Honest
Imagine my shock when I get a notification from the Honest Mobile app telling me that I used more data than normal this morning and that I should remember to turn on my wifi in case I had forgotten. As it turns out, I had forgotten to turn on my wifi, and would never have known without the notification.
Fantastic signal, (genuinely, I live in the middle of nowhere), a company with a brilliant ethos which actually seems to care about its customers and the planet without compromising quality.
All the best to the team and hopefully they go from strength to strength.

If you need a good signal pick this network
Honest Mobile piggyback on Three, EE or O2 so you can have peace of mind that you can always be reached despite “no spots” due to a lack of signal of one network or the limitations of band frequencies on some networks. After Three outage last month that made up my mind in needing a good reliable connection usually available only to specific business contracts. There are other operators out there who offer a multi carrier sim but they’re more expensive than Honest Mobile. I also like the flexibility of Smart Signal ( the facility of being able to connect to the best of the three networks ) which you can decide to opt-in on a monthly basis. If you know that Three has a strong signal where you live then you may opt in to get Smart Signal if you say on holiday somewhere you’re not sure about the coverage or when you visit relatives where you know Three being patchy. The customer service is U.K. based and always prompt as well as being courteous. It might seem a tad pricey but it gives you peace of mind that your friends and family can always reach you no matter where you are. One last note if you feel that Honest Mobile should have Vodafone: O2 and Vodafone have an agreement where they co-share mobile masts. You’ll know when you’re connecting on either of the three network as it will show up on your phone as Honest ( Three - the default ) or EE / O2 when you have smart signal enabled and your phone can’t connect to Three. Believe me you’ll feel very smug when people around you can’t connect and you can :)
