What is parkrun?
parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate.
parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning. junior parkrun is 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families, every Sunday morning.
parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last, as each event has a volunteer Tail Walker. Everyone is welcome to come along.

The latest update seems to have changed the error message but there still seem to be endless ‘no data’ issues with the app. Have tried deleting and reinstalling but it doesn’t help.

Front dashboard seems to be focused on where you are going (number of runs until next milestone + event planner) - which I think is a shame - maybe we should spend some more time in the present & celebrating what has already been achieved

Is there a way to see your challenges instantly after a run? The old app use to tell you what challenges you had achieved after a particular race. At the moment a trophy appears but you can’t work out what the challenge/s that you have completed is.

This is a great update, but there is one small problem. It doesn’t do anything to prevent you from seeing stats etc, but on special events on the attendance record section, if you run and volunteer it’s still purple rather than apricot like the last 5k app. Really small change but when it comes to parkrun I’m really picky!!

Definite downgrade on the previous version. App now seems disjointed and I’m not sure what the user’s journey is meant to be anymore. The planner isn’t very helpful for those of us who don’t plan to run every week.

Apple Wallet Support?
Lovely rebranding! Great to finally have an official app. Only improvement I can think of is addressing the lack of support for Apple Wallet. Would be great to just be able to scan via Apple Watch, as per some of the 3rd party Parkrun apps - removing the need to carry a phone during the run. So 4/5 until you fix that ;-)

Request for Immediate Removal of the Ulster Banner from parkrun Materials
I am writing to formally request the immediate removal of the Ulster Banner (flag) being used to represent Northern Ireland in parkrun materials.
The Ulster Banner is a loyalist symbol that was discontinued in 1973 and no longer has any official status. It does not represent me, nor does it represent many people who participate in parkrun in Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland does not have an ‘official flag’ ,and the continued use of this banner is both inaccurate and exclusionary.
parkrun presents itself as an inclusive, community-focused organisation. Displaying a politically charged and historically contentious symbol undermines that commitment and creates an environment where participants may feel unrepresented or marginalised.
I am therefore asking that this flag be removed immediately and replaced with a neutral alternative that reflects parkrun’s stated values of inclusivity and respect for all participants.
I would appreciate confirmation that this issue is being addressed as a matter of

Downhill recently
The app really has gone downhill since it was bought by parkrun. Much buggier, with data sync issues becoming more frequent. Additionally, event numbers now don’t sync until Mondays for some reason. Should be brought back to how it was.

Ever since I started parkrun, I’ve used the 5k app on the recommendation of my running friend and have never looked back. It’s all you need to track your achievements, progress, friends’ times, etc., as well as take part in all the challenges and games to keep yourself motivated. Awesome!

Ear buds
I always love getting up to do my park run with my friends and other runners and more importantly today, because my friend Ash lost his earbuds and had to stop to try and find them, and while looking for them in the leaves the amount of runners that stopped to help look for them with us I couldn’t believe they would have given up their time and maybe a good finish time. Great app for Parkrunners or Volunteers
I found this app after my first Park-run and was delighted that it linked to my first stats seamlessly. Sadly my daughter hasn’t had the same experience. I love the way it’s easy to find new events and the challenges keep it fun for me as I am never going to be fast. I think my favourite is the Pirates one! It’s also fun to link to and compare with friends (I might be the slowest, but I have a better age grading 😃)

This app is my go to app for information on my progress in ParkRun and to keep in touch with friends and family. It also provides information on my local
ParkRun. I also use for barcode scanning when people have forgotten their barcode.
Overall it’s well worth using for all aspects of ParkRun.

Most user unfriendly app in existence
If there was a “no stars” option you’d be getting it. Having switched to another phone and uploaded the app I am now without a barcode. I have entered into the most Kafkaesque of situations where, even though I’m registered, my name doesn’t come up on the list and it says to add your barcode you need your name or barcode. It asks you to sign in but there’s nowhere to sign in. I went to the website dnd to sign in you need your ID which, it turns out, is in your email. But nowhere does it say where your ID can be found. I had to Google it. I’m beyond frustrated. I stood at the finish and it took four people trying different ways to find my name and barcode. One of them managed it eventually but had no idea how they did it when asked afterwards because the process she had gone through was so convoluted. Why can THEY find my name and barcode and I can’t? It’s crazy. It’s really good job that Parkrun attracts so many very friendly people who are prepared to help others out because this app is a bloody nightmare . So today can be summed up with
Q: “How many people does it take to find and use a barcode?”
A: “6. 4 trying their damnedest, one runner standing apologetically to one side and another waiting a bit awkwardly to zap it”

Easy as pie!
I just love running 5K runs. They are nice and easy to do. You can run them with friends, family or even experienced marathon runners. I highly recommend to those beginners, intermediate and up to really advanced runners to try it out! These runs take place every Saturday morning at 9:00am.

It revolutionised my parkrun tourism
I used to take ages planning my next parkrun tourism trip, making sure I was close to where I needed to be next, writing down which ones I had been to for my alphabet challenge and so on. This took over for me and saved me so much time, having your barcode on the app is ace and a friend showed me recently I can also have my friends barcode as a back up for them as well. If you love stats, you will love this. I would like to support by contributing as prompted by app but I’d prefer to do a one off donation rather than a subscription. I’m hoping this will be a possibility.

A really useful app
Keeps track of my challenges at parkrun. I can never forget my barcode or anyone else in the family, or indeed friends, with the lookup function. The event search facility is great and the planner function keeps me from forgetting things.
I support Michael with a small ‘donation’ every month and have bought a hat to help keep the app free.

Must have for parkrunners
Really useful app, especially for easily finding parkruns when away from home and being aware of event cancellations. Interesting new features get added regularly too which is good. Plenty of nerdy stats too if that’s your thing. Thanks for creating.
Would be good to have some kind of tracker / challenge around consecutive run time improvements e.g. you have improved on your previous weeks’ time for 5 consecutive weeks.

I use the parkrun more than almost any other. It’s full of information and statistics and challenges, which of course change every week. I like the new look with the country flags and charts. If I may make a request, in the World Tourist challenge, it would be nice to see England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as separate countries rather than just UK. Thank you

Brilliant app, fills a gap in the market
I’ve downloaded 3 different apps that allow you to track your performance at parkrun events. Each have their merits, and all work better on an iphone than the official parkrun app, which appears to crash all the time.
This one is by far and away the most beautifully laid out, easy to use, and full of helpful information. I especially like being able to plan future parkruns as part of my new parkrun tourism obsession.
The challenges are all easy to track too, and the map that shows ‘Nearest parkrun not done yet’ is also a great tool, as are options to look up all parkruns in your country starting with a particular letter.
All in all this is an excellent app, and it’s incredible that it’s free. I’d be happy to make a one-off payment, although I’m less keen to sign up to a recurring payment through Patreon.
All kudos to the developer who has created a first class app, much appreciated and widely used by - I’m guessing - hundreds or thousands of runners. Well done and many thanks.

The best app on my phone
Definitely the best app on my phone. I love that at a glance I can look on the map and it will tell me which parkruns are cancelled as well which parkruns have up and coming cancellations. It has all the relevant information I need when I’m planning my tourism. It’s the one stop shop to give me all my stats and where I am with my parkrun challenges. Happy to say I’ve become a supporter as I’ve taken for granted the work that is involved in developing and maintaining the 5k app🙂

This app normally I five to me but it seemed be having issues as I couldn’t get it work to use the barcode and I can’t check anything I had to email parkrun to get my results once app sorted again I will rate again

This app is absolutely fantastic! It records all your parkrun runs, volunteer credits and challenges and is essential for tracking your progress. Parkrun removes mine and millions of other parkrunner’s stats and records. What does the developer of this app do in response? Adds more stats and records on their latest update.
In fact, the developer goes further then what parkrun previously did. For example, a separate female and male fastest times list instead of a combined fastest times list which was unfair to females.
Thank you to the developer for keeping mine and other’s records alive through their app.

out of our comfort zone
Central Park Plymouth. Not quite a 90 minute drive from home, but it’s in Devon and we Cornwallians harbour deep suspicions of goings on across the Tamar. Something to do with jam. Plenty of local on street parking and probably even a real carpark near the start. Start is easy to find, just keep going uphill. It’s beside a café which surprise surprise was open, and toilets. Plus points. The café has some additional covered outdoor seating which is a handy place to leave kit.
About 500 parkrunners. We had a pleasantly brief briefing (obvs shortened by not needing to recount the course records any more) and off we trot. Mostly wide tarmac paths - handy since we start with a there and back, so two way traffic. Down the hill and off to the mini-Stinger, a narrow uphill section. Mostly single file to leave room for the buggies, dog-people and the faster fitter runners. A bit of wending on a two way section to another 180 degree turn (strangely without a marshal) and homeward bound (almost). Uphill, past the start/finish and then duplicate the first section. So far so good. Now I’m a plodder, I aim for 30 minutes ish. When I got to the finish (333rd) we had to queue up to have our times taken. I was stationary with maybe 20 people ahead of me to be timed. Problem seemed to be that the funnel was full. OK, it wasn’t my greatest performance but adding on an extra 20 seconds was not kind. When my wife got there a few minutes later the blockage had cleared.
It was so the Devon jam!
Apart from that, a worthwhile experience. I can recommend the full english at Windy Corner at the other side of the Tamar on the way home.

Great app, but a few suggestions.
I love this app for easily seeing my own parkrun history and achievements but I also use it to write a parkrun report for my club each week. It would be great if you could bring back the FT and PB identifiers in the club results as I now have to go looking for these in individual parkrub results or in peoples’s profiles which takes a lot longer! Also we’d really like to shout out and encourage volunteering in the club so if it was possible to also add volunteering to the club results that would be great too. Thanks

Way better than the official app
Great app for tracking your parkrun stats. Really nice simple UI design nothing over flashy and non-functional like the official parkrun app. I really like how it doesn't just cover the UK but also includes all the international parkruns. If you want parkrun stats then this app has it all and some more, throughly recommend it.

Fantastic for every parkrunner!
I don’t often leave reviews for apps, but this is one of the best free ‘non-official’ apps that I have ever come across. It neatly places all of your parkrun efforts in one place, as well as tracking other unofficial achievements that are recognised by parkrunners. There are no pushy adverts in the way, so I will definitely be contributing to the patreon set up to support this developers fantastic work!

A regularly updated and developed app.
Have you ever got an app that just isn’t updated and developed? Yes, me too. But this one is just how apps should be.
Clearly enthusiast developed with monthly updates. Problems regularly ironed out and you get the impression that if a useful of interesting stat or calculation can be added it will be.
On the really tough days, we always laugh and joke around that ‘we only do it for the stats’ but with aching legs and a big mug of tea after Saturday morning efforts, what great fun to peruse the treasure trove of information here. It’s genuinely motivating too.

Colchester Castle Parkrun
Interesting run through castle gardens on tarmac paths. Lots of direction changes and slopes but the marshals were plentiful and very friendly. Plenty of route signs. One starter loop followed by 2 full laps. Had a lovely atmosphere and very welcoming locals. I knew I couldn’t run with my dog but turned out dogs are not allowed in half the park grounds but are in the lower half which made it difficult for family to watch and they couldn’t be at the start/finnish. Otherwise a great run. Hopefully will come back to run with some friends (but not my dog)!

Excellent for parkrunners and event teams alike
This app has so many useful features. My only reservation was the event number challenges and they’ve mostly been removed now: I have made a donation to thank you for that decision.
I just have two wee quibbles. One is that the p index doesn’t count volunteering in the way other challenges do. The other is that the price quoted on the membership fee doesn’t include VAT so it goes up on the payment page. The difference is small but it’s not really how things are done in the U.K. The price advertised should be the total price you pay.
That apart the app is superb. I love being able to find my friends’ barcodes if they’ve forgotten theirs. I love that volunteering can (optionally) count towards most challenges - please fix the p index though. I love the feature that gives the total day’s attendance with volunteering and running combined. As an ED I can get people’s volunteer history (for Duke of Edinburgh for example) faster and more accurately than from the website or webfms.
But what I love most of all is the way the app supports the true ethos of parkrun - promoting volunteering, removing the small number of challenges that cause problems for event teams - rather than feeding the egos of a small number of extreme challenge chasers. This is an app that genuinely supports parkrun where some others think parkrun exists to support their app. Excellent job, keep it up.

Brilliant to start with, brought to its knees by peer pressure
This app started off brilliantly as a way to encourage people to keep coming to parkrun through its unique challenges. The recent removal of the number challenges however is yet another example of the few complaints of the very few who want to spoil the parkrun experience for the many. With so many parkrun even promoting the Fibonacci or Nelson events, the evidence is clear that the overwhelming majority will share this view. Parkrun should backtrack this decision, or it will lose attendees, which is what it sounds like they’re aiming for

Great parkrun information
This app is really comprehensive compliment for parkrunners. You can get your own/ others barcodes to scan when you take part. Plan upcoming events if a tourist and visiting lots of research and reviews from others. Good to see where you and friends are up to with various challenges. Good if your interested in your pace and performance over time. Good for seeing how close you are to milestones volunteering and parkrunning. Great app highly recommended.

THE app for Parkrun
Michael Clayton has done an exceptional job on something that Parkrun didn’t have combined together in the years they’ve had all these functionalities at their fingertips. I love Parkrun but their digital side has always been quite poor and that’s why this app is just perfect. The added touch of NENDYs (Nearest Event Not Done Yet), tracking of awesome challenges and ability to review and feedback on parkruns is just incredible. One of the best apps in the last 5 years for sure.

Absolutely essential
The features keep getting better and I love all the achievements. Once the Parkrun bug gets you, you’ll find yourself checking this every Saturday as you get your time. I especially like being able to add and save friends so I can see what they have been doing. Shout out to the NENDY map as well. This really is a great app. Cannot recommend enough.

Good for stats but reallly hard to find your friends
Great to track your runs and view your stats. You can also see a map of your nearest completed or not yet completed runs.
The downside is finding friends. If you are looking to add a friend with a common name and the search gives you about 50 results, you have to click into each result to see if that person is the one you’re looking for. You can search by barcode but if you don’t have that info to hand it’s a very long process. They just need to add some filters to the search (age, location maybe, etc.)

Addicted to the 5k app!
Quite simply the most comprehensive, easy to use and professional-looking parkrun app out there. It just keeps getting better with each update and as a parkrun tourist I love the challenge progress tracking. Well done on such a fantastic resource. The map page might as well be my home screen, I look at it that often!

Ross on Wye
Fantastic park run. It would be easy to miss the car park if it were not for the volunteers in hi-viz on the main road together with the banners - thank you !
The course is flat and a 2 loop course with the second loop around a large potato field and along the river. Very friendly and great volunteers. Potential PB course. Ross is a lovely town to wander around after the run.

Brilliant parkrun resource
Thank you very much team you have created a very useful parkrun stats app. I like how I can see all of my challenges progress and stats. Really helpful with planning my forthcoming Wilson index improvements and great that I can see my friends/families progress too. Thank you again and a round of applause 😊🏃♂️

Addictive and Motivational
If you love statistics, this app is addictive. I am obsessed with collecting the prime numbers so, even on horrid mornings, I never consider missing my run.
I love being able to see how friends are doing without checking lots of different event results and the planner is a brilliant recent addition.
I always enjoyed Parkrun but this app has taken that up a notch. Even after a disappointing run, there is always at least 1 challenge achievement to make me feel better about it. (the most I gained on 1 run was 11!)

Wow wow wow!!
This is incredible. This should be the official parkrun app!! Lovely data crunching and the challenges like ‘run a parkrun starting with all the letters of your name’ - so fun! Well done!! Oh hang on, now I’ve discovered the map too! So much better than the one on their website as it actually overlays town names etc and a green tick for those you’ve attended. All wonderful

Really good app but it’s missing something
This 5K app has so many features such as access to barcode, maps showing course for each parkrun, locate other parkruns and show data of how many parkruns one has done. It would be great if the app is available on smartwatches such as Apple Watch to access someone’s barcode ready to scan, how many parkruns one has done and to keep track of movement so that it records data for every parkrun someone has done.

Outstanding App - Parkrun should buy this off you
This should be the official parkrun app, really outstandingly good. One thing I would change is the run pace analysis graphs so that they’re easier to decipher, even just using a y axis instead of the vertical times on a floating secondary x axis would improve it a lot. Otherwise really great, thanks for building!

Brilliant app for viewing your parkrun data
This is a fantastic app for the parkrunner with a love of statistics and challenges. Great new Primes challenge just added that should keep us all busy for years! Going to have to keep on top of the Primes available as they rack up as the Bushy parkrun total runs continues to increase. Maybe we could also have a more manageable “Hip to Be Square” challenge to run at all the Square numbered runs (1,4,9,16,etc)?

Parkrun Stats Made Easy
Fantastic app. I love a good statistic and this app gives that and more 👍
This will replace my own made spreadsheet (as I say I love a good statistic)
The only flaw I can point out is it says that I’m in the 25 Volunteer club. At the time of writing this review I have taken on 25 different roles but only on 21 occasions. It doesn’t count unless it’s 25 separate occasions so that will really need fixing. But otherwise spot on 👍
