Description

The APP of Dolomiti Superski is supposed to be a real online ski guide for those who want to discover the world’s largest ski carousel and is supported by all the operating systems of the most common smart phones. It has new graphics and a modern navigation: horizontal movements (swipe) allow users to switch from one of the 12 ski areas of Dolomiti Superski to the next in numerical order, while vertical movements (scroll) lead to various menu options, functions and services within the chosen ski area. If the GPS function of the device is activated, when the APP is launched, the system will lead to a contents page for the Dolomiti Superski ski area in which the user is located. One can login through the "MyDolomiti" community, after having registered (free of charge) to use the services. The APP offers useful information such as the open/closed status of individual lifts and slopes in real time, opening hours of the lifts, breaks, weather forecasts, points of interest such as ski schools, ski rentals, infopoints, Pick-up Box, as well as descriptions and contacts.
The user will also find other interesting and popular functions, such as the Performance Check, Tracking option to record the route taken while skiing, Routing which will navigate you to a predetermined point on the slopes. By reaching certain goals with the "Tracking" function, the user will be assigned interesting Badges - a great way to challenge yourself! And finally, you get to play too since the registered members of the APP-community can also have fun with the APP's game functions, creating their network of friends, who must also be registered members and in possession of a Dolomiti Superski ski pass and challenging each other throughout the ski season.
Discover the new APP’s full potential watching the video tutorials.

A step backwards

I used - and liked the old app with 3D maps. Battery life was not an issue. The maps were sufficiently detailed to allow you to plan a route - and then to track where you had been. The new ones lack detail, and the overlaid data (lifts, facilities etc.) is inaccurate or incomplete. The app is not fit for purpose.
I return to the Dolomites next week and will be using ski tracks and my Carv app and not this one! A shame.

Useless

I’ve just spent an excellent week skiing in the Dolomites trying to use this app.
The map of lifts and pistes is simply wrong, this is inexcusable. I reverted to paper piste map and the old app (the lift and slope data isn’t updated but at least the map is better).
No valley features (roads, bus stops etc).
Virtually impossible to tell which end of a lift is top and which is bottom do not much use plotting routes unless you already know the mountain.
Tracking is a work of fiction. It seems to record about half of the day, which given it’s got my ski pass number and so knows every lift I’ve used is inexcusable. (Or why does it want my lift pass number)
Several times it seemed to lose track of the fact that it knew my ski pass, I had to restart it and make as you re enter the data before it told me it already had the data.
Tracking won’t start until it works out where you are, so you’re standing around like a lemon until it gathers its wits.
The old app used to tell you lift and piste data (eg opening times) just by tapping on the map. This app doesn’t, you have to search through the list of slopes/lifts on a different screen and then flip back to the map.
Use a different tracking app and take a paper piste map. This one is a waste of time.
Update in response to developer question:
I used the app on 5 days. I always started it at the beginning of the day and stopped it at the end of the day. On some days I paused it when stopping for coffee/lunch but on the latter days I just left it running. It made no difference to the random assembly of lifts and pistes it thought I’d skied when pressing the ‘list of slopes’ button.
In contrast, the download from the web site based on my ski pass is excellent. It was correct and complete and in a spreadsheet with the lift data (height and length). Why does the app not use this data source? Of course this doesn’t capture the route I actually skied and so the opportunity for the app is to use ski pass to capture accurate lift use and GPS for ski track.
I used SkiTracks (by CoreCoders) and a GPS (Garmin Fenix5) watch in parallel. SkiTracks is by far the best app I’ve found to date for tracking my skiing. I think it’s only available on iOS. They both had no difficulty recording my whole weeks skiing, and the data lined up pretty well.

Registering is outside of the available array

Trash app that you can’t even install. Wants your data to be sold - but can’t even manage a registration page. 0/10

Useless

Downloaded the app. Got great WiFi but nothing downloads. You say you have gone back to 2D maps rather than 3 D but why don’t they download?
I’ll try again later but don’t expect any improvement.

I connected my Google to MyDolomiti and still cannot see my statistics

Why not have the data that I can access on MyDolomiti available on the app? This app is very confusing and I don’t really see what it is useful for. It would be nice to see the path that I skied today on a map on the app.

Disappointing

I downloaded it today. It tells me that I have skied 1.1 miles in 5 hours. No tracking, no statistics, I think I’ll go back to Ski Tracks.

Can’t rate this app can’t get in

Even after the latest update (1.6) still cannot download the Alta Badia map, spins quickly up to 641 mb and then does nothing. Notice that maps appears to be a big issue when the previous app did this so well. The main reason I wanted the app was for maps.

A terrible step backwards

The old app had its problems but at least it had the 3D map. This new version is useless. The maps are flat and offer no information on slope directions and contain no information on mountain restaurants.
