It is very annoying that the automated functions are frequently doing the wrong thing and changing that is nearly impossible 🤬 . I am constantly having to contact the dealership to tell me how to disable some of the things which are superfluous and very irritating.
This car has caused me more hassle than I need in my life, why can’t it just be a normal car? I never needed these stupid “sign in “ for every time I enter before and disabling that is not easy at all. Big mistake, buying this car.

Unable to set charging times
On just about every EV or hybrid car today you are able to set start and end times for charging, but not on a Mercedes CLA250e. This is real drawback and puts Mercedes behind virtually every other manufacturer.

So far so good!
I have only had the car for a very short time. So much info to take in when the car isn’t used daily. However,I’m finding the app extremely helpful. I can find at a glance info on lock status, along with lights, and windows secured. I have seen miles per gallon info, etc. Now I’ve found that I can lock/unlock the car from the app too. Great! Does not appear to stop charging when used with Ohme home pro and dynamic charging turned off plus Scottish power EV Optimise.
I expected the max MB charge value to isolate power supply reaching the battery automatically when limit was reached as a safety/ service protection. It does not appear to do this.

Problems charging
I am on a tariff with my electricity company. I set the car to charge to 100%. I plug it in. Just after midnight it starts to charge. Shortly afterwards it stops and sends a message that it has stopped charging. The car and the app have changed to maximum 50%. I am not changing anything it does it on its own. I cannot get the car to fully charge which is not acceptable. I am being forced to charge away from home because of the reduced range. If it cannot be fixed I will have no other option but to return the vehicle to Mercedes.

I have this feature on the lowest sensitivity and an example of its use is I am turning left off a major road and when I indicate the car waiting on the road I am turning into pull in front of me noticing I have just put my indicator on my car then slams on the break resulting in the car behind almost running into the back of me there is one junction near me this always happens to the extent I avoid it

Useful for configuring and monitoring the car’s charging. Other functions have so so interfaces and don’t always report or control effectively. The car seems to have a mind of its own about self ventilating often slightly opening one window. I have yet to divine how to effectively control this, as requests (and they are requests, as the often declines to comply) are not immediately 100% actioned

The instructions and way to make this work with my Ohme charger are awful. Please rethink how you can make this much easier to use. I just want to enable pre entry climate control on my Ohme app alongside the charging programme but how you are meant to do that in this app is very obscure. Impressive remote operation
I’ve not personally had much experience with vehicles with remote access to vehicle settings, I have, however heard stories from other vehicle users who have had mixed experiences with their cars.
I’m pleased to say that my wife and I are very happy with our Mercedes car and all the digital content which we have access to.
I particularly find the programmable climate control a great benefit. I also like the the remote access and locking from my phone very handy so that I can connect the charger to the car on my return from work at night, without the need to enter the home for the key. (Though this facility is marred by the fact that I have to subscribe to a plan in order to drive the vehicle without the key) this may sound odd but if my wife leaves the car in the city for my late finish. I have to remember to take the spare key or I’m stranded. This is my only gripe though. All the normal charging information is available on the app making it a breeze to enable and manage charge sessions. Overall,
We are both very happy with the Mercedes me app and the services offered.

Brilliant app, but the subscription costs are crazy
I use the Mercedes-Benz app on both my phone and Apple Watch, and it is brilliant. I can check if my car is locked, see if the windows are closed, remotely unlock it for guests, and even find it in a strange car park. It makes life so much easier and is extremely intuitive. The only problem is the cost. New car buyers get these features free for three years, but if you buy a pre-loved Mercedes you have to pay. I tried a year’s bundle and while I understand there is a cost to Mercedes, the price feels waaay too high. It really takes the shine off an otherwise amazing app. Big thumbs up to the developers for making it so useful. Thumbs down to whoever set those subscription fees - they need a serious rethink.

Disappointing functionality
I love my EQB but the Mercedes app is beyond disappointing. We also own a Tesla and had I not grown accustomed to the amazing functionality of the Tesla app, I would probably say that the Mercedes app was great. Sadly, it takes a long time to lock and unlock the vehicle using the app, even when you are stood right next to the car. I cannot set charging times to optimise usage of cheaper electricity through the Mercedes app and instead I have to rely on the functionality of the Wallbox app associated with my home EV charger. I cannot start/stop the charging process via the app and there is no option to open the charging port on the car through the app either. The app does not let me know the estimated charging time and does not tell me when it has reached a chosen limit. It is so easy on the Tesla app to identify the closest supercharger and how long it will take to get there but the functionality of the Mercedes app to do the exact same thing is dire. I love my EQB and it is a dream to drive but the app is terrible. I would love to see some of these problems addressed in future updates to rival the Tesla app as it really should be easier to manage charging and the vehicle using the app. I’m sorry I couldn’t give the app more stars but it is just lacking in too many places for me to rate it any higher.

I’ve recently purchased an EQC I can honestly say that I’m so pleased so far, I’m due to have my EV fitted at my home on the 16th of July so it will make it more easier for me to charge rather than charging it through the three pin plug at my property.
My car drivesvery well even though the car is coming up to being four years old it has just gone over the 4000 miles mark i’m pleased with the Mercedes app it’s great when you can go on the app making sure the car is locked or put the climate control on ready for when you get into the car on a nice hot day like it is today over 30°.

Really good, some additions would make it great.
I have been using the app since February 2025 and I have found it very good to use and to have so much information at your fingertips. I had an issue recently where the app went out of sync with the car and would not update at all, this seems resolved after a few days of deleting and reloading the app but highly frustrating to be without any knowledge of the car status, charging connections etc.. for a few days.
I think a few additions could really take it to the next level.
App charging control for specific time scheduling.
A chat function for more immediate support where a phone call is not possible.
The ability to flag your favourite public charging stations so you can see at a glance on the map which stations you have successfully used in the past and plan routes accordingly.
The ability to configure and set up automations via the app, being able to pre select all of the things your car will do before you get inside would allow you to get in and drive without the faff of pre selecting your criteria before setting off.

Latest Update Removed Widget – Please Bring It Back!
I’ve been a loyal user of the Mercedes me app for years, and overall it’s been really helpful for checking vehicle status, locking/unlocking, and planning journeys. But after the latest update, I noticed the widget has been removed – and honestly, that was one of the most useful features!
The widget made it quick and easy to check my car’s range, lock status, and location without having to open the app every time. Removing it feels like a step backwards in terms of user convenience.
Please consider bringing the widget back in a future update. It was a key part of the app experience for many of us. Otherwise, the app is still solid – but losing functionality like this is disappointing.

Useless App!
Some of the data is shared automatically at start, although you can turn it off. But it was enabled!!! So it has shared data! Anonymous or not I have the right to decide.
Some of the futures only available if you willing to scan your passport or diving license. Still doubt that is legal. I didn’t scan so to me this app is just useless.
If you car is stollen, they tell you for a fee a month where you car is located. They tell the police for free. They have to!
It seems that Mercedes is tying to make extra money on things that should be free and still can’t appreciate that they want a copy of you passport or driving license. They’re not authorities. We living in a very greedy world, where data is more valuable than the monthly fee you paying.

I see that you feel the keen to response to all 1 starts. This is it, I won’t change it! You can’t make everyone happy. I’m just going to challenge you legally about the fact that you asking people for legal IDs such as passport and licenses that you have no right to ask or store.
I’d appreciate if you could bugger off and not to disturb me any further. I’d consider it as harassment!
In my opinion, it’s the greed that created this app in terms of data collection and money. I don’t think that the app does provide any useful purpose for the end user.
I think it’s just simply about valuable data and valuable monthly fee.

Excellent step in the right direction
This is a really welcomed and much anticipated update. Hopefully Mercedes are finally listening and will only improve! The next obvious step would be to make the remote control section available on the Apple Watch possibly as a complication so you don’t have to always pull out your iPhone… One thing to also improve on with this update is the “lights” shortcut…it sometimes takes too long for the message to reach the vehicle and by the time it reaches the car, the lights start turning off! So, either make the message quicker, or extend the duration the lights stay on…better still, give the ability to determine how long the lights stay on after being turned from the remote control section. Still testing the other functions and will revise my review when tested, and better functionality and integration is added. Well done to the team…your hard work is appreciated!!!

Used to be fine, now utterly dreadful
Why did you mess with something that worked fine? As the saying goes, ‘Don’t fix something if it is not broken’. This latest update has taken all the convenience out of the app. Used to have full control of all the main functions you needed from the main page, now have to go searching around on a second page. Plus the front page doesn’t give you a decent summary of the vehicle status or fuel levels. I have a hybrid and now splits the electric and the fuel, why? I want to know the total distance and all I had to do to get the break down was to tap on it, now I have to go hunting for everything. This is truly an appalling update, please can I have the old one back! I don’t need it to change colour, I need it to control my car! And what on earth are these useless remote control functions, that claim to be customisable , but I can’t find anywhere to change them and have no idea what they are supposed to do!

Mercedes me app is great when it works but still tells me the car is unlocked when it’s not , the pricing of some upgrades are numbers that have been picked out of a hat , £299 for smartphone integration is rip off , if it was priced at £100 it will still be to much but might make me consider , I have own Mercedes cars for the last 8 years and even after that I was not offered any discounts on these upgrades , unfortunately today there is no loyalty from Mercedes it all sounds good but it’s all a game like many of the others , so since owning ‘1 b class ‘then ‘3 c classes ‘and now a ‘a class ‘ for the first time I am looking at other manufacturers who are willing to offer great deals and real free upgrades to snag opposition customers

Great app - when it works.
The app is fantastic. It allows the ability to track all aspects of the vehicle when you’re not near it. There has been a few gremlins since a recent update, around Dec 23.
My app hasn’t updated for 8 hours. The car is 112 miles from where it says it is, and my car is unlocked but the app says the car is locked. All readings are as of 8 hours ago.
Not sure what the issue could be, but it seems to be taking a lot of time to update lately. I lost use of the app for two days while it was updating all the services as well - Not sure why, but it’s not been right since.
Potential improvement going forward:
Notifications for when the boot is open and the doors are locked.
The boot pops open depending on where your key is in your pocket.
I place camera equipment in the boot for safe storage but have walked back to the car and found the boot to be open when I’ve popped to the shop or some place similar.
Other than that, great service most of the time…. Just having a bad update it seems?

My Me
A great feature. I use it mainly to check car is locked and often get the notification informing me I’ve forgotten to do just that. Being able to lock and close windows remotely is brilliant. Also like the charge indicator. keeping an eye on that remotely is also a great feature. Have used the pre entry climate control, but not often. Like all software it’s not without its bugs. I’ve had some issues with the alarm going off randomly. Notifications of such is a bit hit n miss, not always being informed my alarm is going off. I’ve also had notifications that my cars on the move as stolen, although that’s been while I’m driving it. Only way I’ve found to then turn this off is park up, open the window, get out, lock the car and intentionally set the alarm off by sticking my arm through the open window, then resetting by unlocking the car. Was a pain for about 4 weeks. But has not happened for months now. All in all a great feature. But some extra care needed when developing software updates.
However. After 3yrs Mercedes turned off a lot of these features. Turns out they’re free for the first 3yrs. Then a lot of them are £80 a year if you want to keep them. Thanks Merc. 👍

Having the option of using MercedesMe I find is useful as it allows me to have more control of my car whilst not in my car, particularly useful is the ability to check my vehicle from wherever I happen to be without having to go back and physically check my vehicle. It is also useful to have the stats to hand when wanting to know just how economical or uneconomical your car happens to be.
The only issue for me personally with using MercedesMe is that some of the use of MercedesMe is free for as long as you own your vehicle, whereas other uses of MercedesMe last anything from 1 year to 3 years free before you have to actually pay to continue using that particular area of MercedesMe, whereas I think whether you buy the car brand new or second hand the use of MercedesMe and all it allows you as a Mercedes Benz owner to access should be FREE, a small price for Mercedes Benz to shoulder when you consider the price invested by the Mercedes Benz owner in the first place.

They don’t tell you this when you buy the car crap

I really expected better
I have had my 5 year old E class for 4 years now and the functionality of this app has deteriorated over time. I have now been asked to pay for the remote package but I refuse to pay out when the car informs me that is unlocked, door open, turned on and/or on a car park a mile from my home. I have reported it to app customer support numerous times and they have said they are working on it/ tried reloading software to the car or telling me they are aware of the problem but are having to reopen the report because they have a new computer. I have reported it to the dealer who blame the app but have tried resetting the onboard computer. The latest is that it is a problem with Vodafone (my airtime provider) and/or Apple (my phone manufacturer) We’re changing the car later this year and remain to be convinced that this manufacturer is the right one of us
Further to the developers response. - 3G is fully active in my area and the problems have been manifest before the turn off was announced

Used to work and was great
UPDATE 22 May 2023; this STILL isn’t working! It’s making having an electric car super difficult as I can’t check if it’s charging and it’s now stopped notifying me when the car is fully charged etc, so much so the charger tripped yesterday and I didn’t know until this morning as no notification. This NEEDS sorting as at present the app is pointless to me! Until around 6 weeks ago this app was great as I could check the charge status of my car, preheat it, lock it etc, but now that only works if I’m on Wi-Fi, which I am often not. So I can’t tell if my car is charging ok, I can’t adjust how much I charge it, or check if it’s locked, unless I am at home. So at present the app is adding no value really. I just hope it gets fixed soon.

OK app
I wish it had all the features that other manufacturers have like remote start. This is a huge one and one that must be revisited. If I can open and lock my car and get car info to my phone I should also be able to turn it on via my phone. Can this please be looked at! My 15k Ford had this feature but my 60k mercedes doesn’t… Not app related but the fact mercedes have turned off the petrol prices too is annoying.
UPDATED: I’ve seen your reply regarding why remote start isn’t a feature in the UK. This reasoning doesn’t make sense when Ford, Kia and other manufacturers offer this. There’s a warning when using remote start which says it’s the user’s responsibility.
Please assist in helping me work with Mercedes and yourselves in how we get this switched on.

My Mercedes
I love m’y car GLA 200 sports 2021, it’s a beautiful ride, the Asthetics is beautiful, nice small SUV not tooo conspicuous, looking nice and posh. It reminds and alerts me on everything, even when I forget to lock my door. I can’t ask for more when am tired it reminds me to take a break. When am feeling sleepy going on motor way it swerves me with a buzzzz and vibration back to my lane. I absolutely love my car. The boot is spacious and the back seat is lovely you can stretch your legs and even have a pleasurable time at the back seat lol. Different compartments, warm and cold atmosphere to change to any time, digitally configured to suit your needs from music to navigation and sync with mobile phone. As a user all these features are very outstanding. Am happy and hope to have a better one after this. Cos I love Mercedes cars

Awful functionality 😡
I have to say, I'm extremely disappointed with the Mercedes Me app. It's supposed to be this high-end, cutting-edge app that allows me to control all aspects of my Mercedes vehicle from my phone, but it's been nothing but a headache. The functionality is just not up to par with what I would expect from a luxury car brand like Mercedes.
I'm extremely dissatisfied with the Mercedes Me app. It's clear that the developers didn't put much thought or effort into creating a functional and user-friendly app, and it's frustrating to have to deal with these issues on a daily basis. I would not recommend this app to anyone, and I'm seriously considering switching to a different vehicle brand that offers better technology and support.

App not working as expected
In order to enable remote locking and unlocking, I have enabled the premium capabilities of this software, but it never functions as intended. Instead, it consistently sends out the incorrect notifications, leaving me unsure of whether the doors are locked or unlocked. The error "Vehicle remote control deactivated" appears constantly in the app. On November 23, 2022, I raise a case with Mercedes support, but it has not yet been resolved. They merely instructed me to update their iPhone and apps to the most recent version, which was always up to date. When I've emailed support, they haven't responded, indicating the case is with escalation teams. I have no idea how long it will take to resolve. The 69 pounds I spent for a year's worth of benefits was utterly wasted, and instead of helping me, it always causes me problems. I might have to walk outside and check that the car is locked again because the app sent the wrong notification.

Good to a point
Like most manufacturers, this feels like Mercedes had to do something to link into a digital age. The app and the car system is ok. My actual issue is that I can’t get an internet connection using my iPhone (Sky mobile) to transfer locations directly to the navigation system and no one in Mercedes seems to care. I can use my mobile to play music via Bluetooth, can use the phone to make/take calls and I can get sms messages. Trying to send data from the app to the car for the nav system? Not having any of it. Tells me to check the date and time settings in my car. So, I’d love to love your app, but for me, it’s not fully functional and I don’t know if the issue is the car, the phone or the app.

Very poor app
I spent rather a lot of money obtaining the various different products last year for my Mercedes. All of which were ok, but I don’t think they are worth the money I paid. The app is very slow to update and takes an age for the locking/unlocking to work, at one point this function was removed from my app.m when I needed it the most. It is constantly telling me my car is unlocked when it is not causing a tremendous amount off stress when I’m out. I have set a geofencing limit and the car can be a long way outside this limit before a notification comes through. Very very poor show Merc I expect better from such a large and alleged prestige company. My son has an A class and for some reason the options on his app far out weight the options on mine, again poor show. If you are going to charge money for a service ensure you provide it and consider the customer aspect of the service too! Very Disappointing!!!

App hangs with black screen - Mercedes not interested
The app stopped working 24 hours ago. I followed all the troubleshooting steps recommended by Mercedes including restarting the phone and app, updating to latest versions etc and now I can’t even log in to the app.
This problem has persisted for 24 hours.
I rang Mercedes Me who told me that this is a known issue and then said, “But the more people who complain, the faster we’ll fix it. I’ll send you an email so you can supply the details.”
I asked for an ETA on the fix and the message above was repeated. I asked if it is likely to be days, weeks or months. The answer was, “probably not months”.
So far, I know that you know about the issue but there is no suggestion of any urgency for you to fix it.
This is not a bit of the app that is not working it is a 100% failure of the app coupled with a service attitude that feels something like, “Whatever”.
The support person confirmed that this is “a known issue affecting a lot of people” and yet there is nothing proactive I can find in the public domain to explain, update, apologise or manage expectations about the issue.
To be 100% clear here. This is an app that has worked perfectly well for over a year that has just stopped working. There is now zero functionality and zero support or information available.
Come on Mercedes’ - you can do better than this!

Limited information
Just got my Mercedes after having an Audi A3 before. I must say the Audi app is way better than this app. It provided me with a full service history including the servicing garage’s details, date, time, mileage and parts replaced on each service. There was also a sub section for recommended replacement timescales/mileage intervals for things like spark plugs, timing belts/chains, etc. It also showed all the parts/ packages fitted to the vehicle such as tinted windows, alloys, etc. Mercedes can’t give me access to previous service history due to “data protection”. I don’t want to know previous owner’s details, just the service history for the car itself. How can Audi provide this without breaching data protection but Mercedes can’t. I think developers at Mecredes need to have a look at the Audi app to see how they can make massive improvements. I must say i am really disappointed considering what a big company Mecredes is.

New subscription result in less working!
Renewed my subscription end of October 2021, for remote door lock/unlock and remote information reporting and I am very disappointed in both. The remote door lock/ unlock feature no longer sends notifications of unlocked car and takes an absolute age to show a remote change of status. The remote retrieval of car data - fuel reserve,tyre pressures etc. is simply no longer shown. These are ‘ paid for’ services that simply are not working since renewal. I have reported these issues via the call centre over 2 weeks ago and have yet to receive any form of update let alone resolution. Please at the very least have the curtesy to provide some feedback.
Ok so now the car data is showing in the App - thank you.
However notification of an unlocked car is still not working and I now regularly get a message that “the ignition is on”, which is certainly untrue, so remote lock/unlock functions are off!!! This is a paid for service, which you are failing to deliver. May I ask, what level of refund are you prepared to offer?

Useful if you have subscriptions
The app largely works fine if you have all the subscriptions. The tracking function is handy. Keyless Go makes me forget to lock the car sometimes and the app is handy to remote lock. Couple of annoying things. The remote control features ultimately rely on the car’s mobile data connection (Vodafone in UK) and the responsiveness can vary. The biggest inconveniences of the app is sending a location to the car’s sat nav. You always have your location search done in Apple/Google map. But you can’t share that location with the Merc app and send to the car, you have to search inside the Merc app’s map to send a location. Also, it would be nice if the app integrates with Siri so I can simply say Siri, lock my car.

New package has reduced functionality
I have recently purchased a new subscription for what is now the remote package for my Mercedes Me on a GLC. Previously I had two packages and paid separately for both. The new subscription seems to be missing half the data I used to get, such as tyre pressures, windows open, last trip data and mpg, next service etc etc. Not essential I know but annoying when I used to have all that and now it has gone. I know the car can send all this data so why suddenly turn off all these feeds. It’s not like it’s a way to make you buy another package there’s nothing you can do.
Update. After waiting about 5 days the old options started to come back. I’ve no idea why they all disappeared but it now seems to be the same as the previous package, and with the discount that was on when I paid, cheaper than the previous two packages on the app. Upgraded to 4 stars

App Does not work correctly
This new app does not work correctly the old app worked perfectly fine with my vehicle since on the new app the vehicle unlock notifications have stopped working after months of contacting app support I got a message to say they had turned it off for my vehicle? Why are they still charging for this if they cannot get it working The response from app support shows you what you are up against standard reply which you get every time I already stated I spoke to technical support and they said it had been turned off because of false alarms still does not explain why it worked correctly in old app this app does not work correctly and people are being charged for something that is not fit for purpose waste of time with technical they disabled it said gave to many false alarms but worked with the old app but still having to pay for something that does not work correctly

Terrible app
Had this since launch in its various versions and honestly, it’s never worked quite how it should. From freezing, to an inability to share routes and maps, to requiring permissions to be granted time and time again.
The integrations within it have never worked quite right, sending directions to the car is temperamental and is so unresponsive and unreliable that I have given up using it (almost, I’ve come here to update and give it one last try)
Had poor customer service when taking to the team about it, which is the opposite of my experience with the actual car itself (that’s always been of the highest standard) but with the app I ended up being refunded some of the purchases I made (eventually) because they just didn’t work. So don’t get your hopes up when downloading the app

Was ok ..... now pretty useless
Working great with my new Mercedes for the first 2 weeks. Since that point though the app doesn’t sync / update with the car. Despite driving the car every day this week the app has now not refreshed since the weekend. This renders it next to useless and I know there’s no issues with what the car is doing as I can see it uploading my profile / data ..... when the app WAS working properly it was brilliant.
UPDATE Dec 18th
2 months later nearly now and I’ve downgraded my review to 1 star. The app magically started to work a couple of weeks ago (well some functions did anyway) but since yesterday AM all functionality is broken again. Issue is logged with Mercedes and has been since the start but their email updates are poor and tell me nothing. I asked for more frequent ones and was assured I would receive 2 a week .... none since that point at all ! Laughable customer service and clearly they have no clue how to resolve the issues many are experiencing. When I spend this much money on a new car this SHOULD NOT HAPPEN !

Not doing what it should
For some reason, I stopped receiving alert notifications that my vehicle was unlocked. This was over a month ago. I reported the matter to Mercedes me with phone calls and emails but am still waiting to hear back from the technical department (who it has been referred to).
I deleted and reinstalled the app and gave done everything requested - but it is still not functioning as it should.
My phone is running the latest software and the app is also the latest version. I feel very disappointed that up to now, I have not heard back from anyone with help and a resolution to this. More than 3 weeks to still be waiting and not hearing back is not good enough from a company such as Mercedes Benz.
Update 16th Dec 2020:
It is now more than 2 months since I first reported this issue.
I have continually sent updates re this and am running the latest version of the app.
I also have the latest software version on my iPhone 11 Pro Max.
I have also deleted and re-installed the app several times (as advised).
For 2 months now, I am repeatedly told that the issue is with the technical department - but still no response or help from them - only to advise me that it is still with them.
Is the issue with the app, my phone or my vehicle?
Either way, I would appreciate some help.
As an owner of new Mercedes vehicles for 11 years, I am very disappointed with the lack of support and communication that I am receiving.

Not as good as the previous app
I don’t see why the previous app was replaced with this one. I initially thought it was going to be an upgrade but it’s actually a downgrade in my opinion.
The previous app was proper real-time. If I turned off the car and forgot to lock the doors, it reminded me. When the battery is going dead I got a notification. It was just great. But this one does no such thing. One day I had forgotten to lock the car overnight and I didn’t get any notification at all.
Sometimes the car is locked and when I go into the app, it’s says entire car and trunk unlocked, making me panic and rushing out to the drive only to see that it’s locked.
I have now lost confidence in the app. Not even sure if every other thing it shows are true.
The previous connect app shouldn’t have been discontinued, it worked well. I would love to have the old app back or at least make this one better, else we won’t be able to trust it and when we can’t trust it then what’s the point of developing it in the first place?

Mercedes Me app
I previously used the Mercedes me app on my GLC a couple of years ago that I found to be hit and miss when using the remote lock feature, saying that my car was unlocked when it was locked on the drive. So I subscribed again a month ago to see if things have improved and unfortunately they haven’t. I currently have an outstanding case with Mercedes Me support because my remote unlocked feature is greyed out so I can’t select it. This happened a week after downloading the app. Also it doesn’t display full status so I don’t know if my rear windows or sunroof are open or closed. I still don’t know why I can’t remotely put heating on etc that is appropriate depended on models but my friends with base model BMW’s have this feature. I have a fully spec GLC so just seems strange there isn’t a way to unlock additional remote features. £29 seems a lot just to check my tyre pressure until the issues are resolved with the remote locking.

A WEEK LATER STILL COMPLETELY USELESS
I am beginning to get extremely irritated. Buy a new car with cash, no finance and get done like this. Had it 20 days, updated to the BROKEN 1.6.0 and no link to my cla 250 e HYBRID. Really useful to not be able to have any contact with car and not see battery charging information. What’s worse is I am still waiting for someone in iT to call me after a week to sort this out. Reading other people’s experiences I fear I have made a big mistake with Mercedes. Should have stuck with Audi. Totally unacceptable to ignore and just come with standard replies such as, wait an hour after an update. NONSENSE. You know of the issues so why take this long to pull this version until you iron out the bugs? Really not happy at all. Sort it out and INFORM CUSTOMERS instead of IGNORING. Oh I have also noticed you are DELETING MY HONEST REVIEW. I shall be speaking to management at Brooklands today.

Embarrassing
For a premium car brand this app is just embarrassing. The ability to open and close doors/windows and set climate before entry is a superb remote feature which has been available in recent years for all of my past/current cars and worked without fault: VW, BMW and Land Rover.
Mercedes pretend to be able to do this but their offering is so hit and miss it is essentially worthless.
I have spoken to Mercedes Me on multiple occasions. Case numbers are given out but nothing is actioned and no improvement results.
Look at the recent reviews you are getting, just cringeworthy. Either withdraw the feature and admit you can’t compete with the other brands or just fix it!
The upbeat Developer Responses on here are insincere worthless drivel....I will have a good day when you fix the reliability issues!

Slightly Disappointed
This is my first car with the ability to control basic functionality with a smartphone. The idea of this was exciting as I love technology and innovation.
However, reading some of the reviews on here concerned me slightly given that some customers state they are experiencing the app indicating their doors or windows are open when they are not. Despite these reviews I downloaded and decided to go with it given that the developers responses on here seem positive, so I thought surely they would have ironed these issues out by now. Unfortunately it would appear not.
Just last night I opened the app to see the red explanation mark of the vehicle status. Upon opening this it stated my front passenger side window was open. Initially I thought my kids had left it open as they were messing in the car earlier that day (the excitement of a new car 😀), however, upon a physical check I learnt the window was actually firmly shut? I have logged into the app again this morning and the same massage is present? In addition to a message which state ‘vehicle status is unavailable’.
Love the concept of the app but clearly flawed in some way and not reliable, especially if u happen to be further away from your vehicle. Luckily mine was on my drive to check!

Tripe
Tells me what my reg no. is and where my nearest dealer is .... and that’s about it ! What an utter load of crap ! Way way behind VW Connect like about a decade - I have an A250e - the Golf GTE I had before this - the VW app told me when it was charged, could open and close remotely, warned me if unlocked / hadn’t closed a door properly / attempt to self lock failed - have location via gps - allowed me to activate heating and windscreen clearing in cold weather remotely so in subzero temps I could heat the car up etc.. 1/2 hour or so before getting into the car . It also allowed me to sound the horn and flash lights - which to be honey I used quite a lot when parked at a few festivals and when some local hero’s were hanging around it looking suspicious. As I said the equivalent Merc app allows me to look at my reg number and gives me dealership location !

Worst app I’ve ever used. Not even worth 1 star.
I love my AMG but this app is an absolute joke as is the customer support. From day 1 it’s never worked correctly and the customer services dept is an even bigger joke. For 6 weeks I’ve been exchanging emails with someone who can’t even open my screen shots of the problem, and instead of referring the issue to her IT dept insists I keep resending her the images again. I then contacted Mercedes Me via phone and a new case was opened and now have lost ALL access to my services since. No geo-fencing, no collision detection, no vehicle tracking, no updates if the car was locked/unlocked. Not even an email from the advisor with an update of what’s happening to fix the problem. I’ve paid a premium for one of Mercedes flagship AMG vehicles and cannot believe how bad this app and the customer services that comes with it is. If I could complain at the highest level I would. I’m absolutely furious.

Disappointing considering the price
I downloaded the new 2020 version of the app and paid the extra £29 for the personal details of your car (which you don’t get with just the free version). However, more than once a week, it informs me (via a drop down notification on my iPhone as well as on the app) that my window is open or my car is unlocked or my ignition is on - all of which are totally untrue as my car is parked alongside my house and easy to check on immediately. Even after I have gone outside to double check the app will not update for a few minutes then will be correct, until the next time! Why is this happening?? I wouldn’t mind if the app was free but this feature cost me £29 so I’m not going to delete it. The other things such as mileage, service date, tyres etc... are ok but the locking information needs some attention. It’s quite alarming when it notifies you late at night that your car is open when it’s not.

Info is good but the odd gremlin a pain
When this works which to be fair is more often than not - it tells you all you need to know. Tonight stood in a supermarket that little thought went through my head “did I actually lock the car?” Whip the phone out open the app “err you ain’t getting in here before you’ve rolled up your trouser leg and bared your left nipple” did all that “err we don’t know who you are matey” Jump through these hoops please - eventually got logged in while back sat in the car (which I had locked).
The info is good but the niggles at least once a week are a pain in the bottom. Car is a cracker shame the App doesn’t quite match the performance level of the car.

The old app actually looks like a brilliant update of this new app
Just press ‘all’ on the old app and everything is listed. See it all at a glance. Simple. I’ve just updated the new app as suggested by your kind reply to my review - no change! New app doesn’t include essential information on a number of components e.g.
no Vehicle identification number,
no battery level graphic,
no brake lining info,
no route shown on map or distance to destination, or eta, or parking areas option
In fact new app says battery is charged, but it is only partly charged as indicated in the old app and confirmed by dealer!
It’s all too bitty! Just put everything on status in one list as before as it was simple, intuitive, logical and neat. Why make like complicated by having to search for things that were originally found in one place?
The old app is a professional workplace. The new app looks like a simplified - as in, cut down version of the old and not at all on a par with the old.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Please include all the stuff the old one had. Great vehicles, poor software (now). Please do not take the old app off line as it is a professional piece of software giving me a neater and more comprehensive reading of the status of my vehicle. But now the biggest deal breaker for any future purchase - sending route destination to vehicle DOES NOT WORK. The old app sent to vehicle every time. This app is frankly a waste of time. Thank you

Clunky and slow
Although much prettier than the previous app, this updated version is extremely slow to sync with the car and update itself on actions of the car, such as if it is locked or open. The remote locking function is incredibly slow to both update and work. It can be very temperamental, occasionally working, occasionally not.
The geo fencing and tracking options are excellent, although extremely expensive.
Each function costs you an additional annual subscription, which only heightens the annoyance at how clunky and ineffective the services are.
I’d say the tracking service is easily the best, most fluid function. Especially if security on the whereabouts of your vehicle is a concern.
The auto locking function is definitely the worst, when subscribed you pay £30 a year to remotely open/close your car from your phone. Which sounds cool. But in reality isn’t a very reliable app, it rarely works as you’d like and if you want to open your car on returning to the car park, you best activate it last sabbath and be prepared to have such relations with the customer services department, that it’s not weird when they arrive at your house for the holidays.

Work in progress
The app is working most of time and i like the alerts especially when my wife always forget to lock the car. Even when the battery was low it recommended me to charge battery so quite useful. I realise the app is still quite new so looking forward to more features and stability improvements. After a month’s use the only real issue i have is the syncing with car as sometimes is says last connection to car was 1 year ago which is crazy as car is only 3 months old. One last observation is my car on the main screen is still under wraps which you think should have updated by now showing my car. The app needs to improve rapidly to keep ahead of the competition as the MBUX system is very good. In a tech driven world mercedes customers will demand and expect more.

Can’t add car.
Each time I try to add the car to the app it states that it is still registered to a previous owner. It insists that I go to a dealership to verify my identity. Nowadays and especially with COVID the fact that I can’t do anything securely without a physical visit to a dealership is ridiculous and a waste of my time and the dealerships.
I called the main help line and was told to go along without an appointment. I did try to call the dealership but always got the busy message.
When I arrived (40 min journey), I was told that I needed an appointment and to go away. No one there would apologise and feed back to the help line that they were wrong, hence this feedback here.
I tried to book an online appointment and only thing I could book was a service with a quote! Called a different dealership and they said call back in a few weeks. Just a waste of time all round.

Recently bought my limited package for a four year old B Class. Does everything but does keeps saying vehicle location not currently available. Local Mercedes garage never returns call and the helpline keeps putting the phone down on me. So the one thing I wanted it to do - track my vehicle is useless. I will ask for a refund and buy my own system. Very disappointed.
Thank you for your reply. The B Class 180D SE is an amazing piece of technology. The only dissappointment is that it never came with auto rain sensor wipers and I’m told they can’t be fitted. Ridiculous. My wife’s 56 plate A Class has them! I binned the new app and hey presto the old app gives me a location! Come on Mercedes all you want me to do is buy another one! Why do I need too with 37K miles, it’ll go for years yet! Anyway these posts are a real slating for a top notch product. My father in law with his brand new AMG B Class now won’t buy the software packages available. Hope you can sort it soon to beat the opposition!

Disappointment... can’t expect much more
As always with Mercedes everything looks nice and shiny on the surface but never lives up to they hype when it comes to function. Our car was stolen so I called up Mercedes and they said I can pay to track my car, and if it didn’t work after 14 days I would be refunded. 2 Months later no car and no refund! Absolutely despicable app, even when I did have the car I would try and unlock it from my phone and wait 20 mins for the car to actually unlock!
These problems were visible all over the app, be it saying the the windows/sunroof were open when they were in fact closed, or saying that the doors are locked giving a false sense of security when the are in fact open.
I would advise anyone to not only not download this app, but if you are in the market for a car be sure not to get a Mercedes! Ours is one of 7 cars which have been stolen from my street in the past 2 months, all of which were Mercedes and 2016 or newer, so the security in their cars is not up to par. All of the BMW, Audi and other cars have been untouched as they are much more secure vehicles.

Less functionality than the old app
I don’t find the new app as bad as others suggest with no problems linking my cars with it and it all looks nice enough. It is silly how it does not allow you to change the default vehicle when the app opens. Now the app always opens with an old model with minimal functions and I have to go into the menu every time to change it to my newer car. Irritating but not the end of the world. More importantly, in these days of Coronavirus lockdown when cars spend days or weeks unused, you cannot find out the battery charge level on the new app when you can on the old. Why would you bring out an app with less functionality than the one it replaces?! Other functions seem to work perfectly well.

Working well (for now)
The old app started acting glitchy recently, stating the car was unlocked when it wasn’t, the alarm wouldn’t go off: another car bumped into my car hard when leaving the parking lot whilst I was inside a restaurant. I had to use my dash cam to see when it happened. If the alarm had gone off as it should have, I would have been alerted straight away. I contacted the Mercedes team where the lady said she’ll get the manager to get back to me but never bothered. The new app is much better. It has the registration and mileage clearly on show like the old app, additionally it also shows when it was last updated so fantastic stuff. Also, my new app automatically paired my car from the old app, all I had to do was download the new app. I like having the app since it’s reassuring to know I can check the car and windows are locked from wherever I have.

As pointless as the previous version
Don’t bother. The original app was pointless and this is worse. First issue is that I can’t pair my Mercedes as it says it is already registered so the 2020 version just reports no car paired now and won’t go further. Login sends you text now so you have to switch between apps or have two devices running in order to retrieve the number. Very unimpressed with Mercedes apps the one for my other branded car was way more useful and all the features were free unlike the ones offered in this peice of junk.
Update.
Thank you to the developer as the app is now working although in order to get anything other than a pretty picture of my car the app provides no useful information unless I pay Mercedes even more money to add features for an already expensive prestige car package. Like I said before these were features were free on my other car (different manufacturer) shame on you Mercedes I expected more. At least my car is reliable which I guess is more important than a app on a phone which could have been so much more if it hadn’t been for financial greed.

What a piece of junk
After several prompts I downloaded this useless app. I say useless because I cannot login to use it - it times out as soon as I enter my email address or phone number.
Sort it out
Update - I can at last login with email address but not phone and I have to enter a PIN sent via email when I want to login - very annoying but not the end of the world. What is unforgivable is the frankly appalling user interface. It needs a user manual to swap between vehicles and the key reasons I use the app have been made far worse in this new version. It is not obvious that the car is locked, I cannot see my mileage because the font is very similar to the pale background (why ??) and I have to scroll down to see the fuel state. If I want to lock the car I have an extra step to get to a status screen.
Whoever designed this app and signed it off for release should try asking users what they want instead of releasing this piece of junk.
Ignore the ridiculous 5 star review and the average rating of this app would be more like the 1.5 it deserves - and that is being generous.
