Having a paid subscription is fine but having to rely on other people to have a paid subscription to match, connect or meet means the pool of selection dramatically drops. If you can only see, message or match if you’ve got the expensive subscription, and then the people you match with can only reply if they’ve got it - what’s the point of having free accounts and what’s the point in showing them to us if we can’t do anything. This app had so much promise but it’s actually the worst one.

Limits your matches and over promotes subscriptions to try and capitalise on lonely people. A week of matching and I haven’t even come across an ‘Emily’, yet I’m being told if I pay, there’s an Emily wanting to chat to me.

It’s alright, matches are very few and far between as someone who has been on and off this app like a yo-yo, your experience may vary, I have to say they are generous giving you around 700 coins when you first sign up for it! (Coins are used to message people and other stuffs) Buuut again your experience may vary, I’ve had some where I’ve had a lot of people talk to me and other times not a single message. It’s pretty unpredictable but the good part is when it does give you people most of them are really nice and sweet, but overall it’s an alright app for finding partners and friends, it’s just a lucky dip really!

Been using the app for less than a month really although I like it. I’ve made a fe matches - even though they’re just friendly vibes and nothing like what I had originally got in the app for. The chances of a person getting a romantic match is solely based on luck really, it’s not the apps problem if you don’t. Make a good profile n ppl will want you. Simple. I don’t have premium so I can’t see likes but I can personally message them with points n if they want to chat back with u, communication won’t be a problem anymore. I like the mbti personality theme. Lastly, you can or see others post - it’s a whole big community. I like it, it’s alright.

The app at its core is there to aggressively push microtransactions so you can unlock features that drastically improve your experience, so like every other dating app. It has a fun aesthetic but nothing more beyond that. It employs the pseudoscience personality testing from Briggs Meyers, which greatly impedes neurodivergent people who do cannot be accurately categorised by this highly unscientific scale. The app is nothing special and needs drastic improvements to make it more consumer friendly and needs to remove pseudoscience from it’s core functionality.

Little glitchy
Sometimes when opening chats the app crashes, so I’m forced to use the web browser for Boo instead to talk to people. Apparently other people I’ve spoken to have said the same thing happens to them.
The New Souls page can get a little broken too. I’ve had people I’ve already accepted requests from show up on there to be declined or accepted. When I was trying to match with other women and non binary people for friendship and chose the filters to specify solely for that, I still got a lot self identified men keep on showing up to match on the New Souls page too?
I don’t mind people sending requests again after you decline them since I get too quiet to accept in that moment but would accept when I’m chattier 😅, but I have had some people request pretty much instantly after I’ve declined them after they saw me visiting their page to decline them, so they could keep on spamming me through that view page. I would like a short cool down time of maybe a day so people can stop doing this and accept no as an answer. It’s a bit unnerving.
Must say that I have had good experiences on this app though! Compared to another app for the same purposes as this one, there’s way less bots on here. Throughout my whole time using it (8 months), I’ve only encountered 2 bot accounts.
I think the tags are implemented well also, and it serves as a good conversation starter or continuer for what you both have in common.

New update killed it
The new update where you now have to pay to see who liked you makes it the same as every other money grabbing dating app. All the collected coins do nothing now, and the people who sent you an opening message or stand out are now hidden in amongst blurry squares and almost impossible to find. I loved that this app was so much easier to know who you got on with and who you’d match well with but now it’s no better than tinder or Okc - in fact it’s worse because you can only react to a limited number of profiles a day. I’ve had the same profile come up 3 times I want to send a like to but it’s always the one that appears when out of souls for the day.

I’ve only been using Boo for a couple of days. I’ve just had to swipe away 13 identical profiles, each one with a different name. Clearly bots. The app talks of having only verified users. I feel that there is clearly a loophole being exploited here, definitely by the 12 women with identical profiles but different names beginning with ‘C’. Ciara, Chianti, Cismus, Cora, Cayhole… exactly the same person, based in different locations, apparently. If Boo removed these obvious nonsense profiles, it’d be one-star better. However, beyond that, the vibe of the app is okay. The personality test and matching through interests is a good idea. Then, everything else is the same: someone like you! Wanna see - pay £56 p/month! Wanna swipe away more than ten bots called Coopla or Cirax or Cristal a day? No worries, just pay £14 for 14 more swipes! Want your profile to be seen more frequently? Easy - the best way for this to happen is to pay £279 for a yearly mega BOOst… the exact same usual nonsense.

A lot of dating apps out there feel super shallow and a bit dystopian. Swipe on 1000 people with no bio and maybe you’ll stumble across someone you’re 20% compatible with who’ll disappear after messaging for a week - Boo isn’t like this.
I’ve been on a few different apps, and Boo is more like a hybrid social media/dating platform that prioritises actively rewarding actions that encourage people to put themselves out there. Profiles are therefore a lot richer in personality, people are a lot more engaged, and there’s bunch of ways to meet someone other than just swiping. I’ve met both friends and romantic interests on the app because of this model.
Another thing to mention is that the type of people who use Boo are… different. In a good way. Boo doesn’t attempt appeal to the standard rigmarole which results in 200 thirsty guys chasing 20 girls who are o the app just to get IG follows. I can confidently say I’ve never personally seen a bot profile that’s there to just advertise or drive follows on other platforms. They’ve kind of purposefully lent into the idea of onboarding people who are sick of the conventional and want to actually take dating online seriously, and it’s served them and their user base really well. Not to imply that everyone you see on the app will be a match, but it’s 10x more likely than other apps from my experience.

Not a single match in 2 weeks
I downloaded this app following the good reviews, even paid for the subscription given the cut price. Do not be fooled. It’s truly awful and just the same as algorithm tricks as hinge. Has all the people you might be interested in the equivalent of the stand out section, here called ‘For you’ and you can only ‘super love’ them. You also only get 2 ‘super loves’, I assume per week, even when you’ve paid for the subscription. The rest of the profiles you see and the ones who you like you, you’re unlikely to be interested in. I liked a fair few profiles and didn’t get a single match. Just another money making app, don’t waste your time or money. Feel like most of the reviews were either written by people who work for Boo or are friends and family of employees - it’s the only reasonable explanation for such positive feedback of this truly terrible app. Would give no stars if that were possible. Deleting with 5 months and 2 weeks left on my subscription

Wouldn’t recommend
It’s not a good dating site, it’s actually the worst one I ever used. You have to pay to use it and message people and it uses an outdated personality system to match with other people. Not only that, but the worst was that I got scammed by someone abroad thinking they were in the town close by. Even when I reported the person to the site, I still have yet to hear from them. The only email I got back is a 50% discount when I get their subscription service.
Even the idea of “There are new souls active now” is bloomin’ creepy. Who am I, Davy Jones?!
Overall, I’d just stick with hinge, tinder or actually join clubs or volunteering work to meet people (that’s what I’m gonna do!).

It’s fine I guess
It’s fine, good marketing concept for gamers nerds and introverts I guess because that’s the market for dating now and it’s more online than not it feels like, but it’s really doesn’t make a difference from all the other dating platforms still scammers still bugs still over priced and difficult to not feel like a scam, because if you find love on the app they lose your business basically any dating app runs on the business model of “if we’re good at our jobs we’ll be out of business” so it’s hard to trust them to have the users interests at heart because they don’t.

Needs more time
App seems good. Has a lot of potential, only used it for half an hour so far but I plan to see how it goes-
After using for a week, it doesn’t seem as good as tinder or bumble, I have paid for the extra features(Boo infinite) but it feels like I’ve got nothing out of it. Maybe it’s user base is too small for now and will grow in time, or I’m just not receiving the matches I was hoping for. I will continue to use it and see if it gets better the more the algorithm learns yadda. I personally don’t think I have got what I wanted or expected from infinite yet. Will come back and update when something changes or in a couple months.

Overall a disappointing experience
I get what they were trying to do, but it falls completely flat given that (for me) there appears to be no way to filter by distance, which renders the vast majority of potential matches inappropriate due to the distance- mostly more than several hours travel away, in some cases hundreds of miles away (I am in the south of England and it was showing me users in the north of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland!)
I raised this issue with Boo support and at first they seemed to be under the impression that there was a distance filter, however I had none. After some chasing they then stated that it was a feature only available to some users and not all, but wouldn’t clarify which users would have this or what criteria may need to be met.
As someone who paid to upgrade my account it feels like a real slap in the face. I guess the real winners here are Boo; they have my money and clearly don’t care whether I have a good experience or not with their service.
I won’t be renewing.

I have been in chat rooms and other apps in community based forums and this has been by far the most fun, interactive, informative and safest app I’ve ever used.
A little on the pricey side, which is not great. But overall, very engaging
I don’t like it that you have to spend so much money just to get hearts to give to other people. that’s the only thing that I really don’t agree with when you already pay for a membership.

You’d be lucky finding a ghost
I like the concept of this app, so I thought I’d give it a go. It seemed promising at first but I soon came to realise that after the list of about 5 people who were actually nearby ended, that you’re either matching with bots or foreigners 5,000 miles away. I had matched with a few people in my country, but even then they were hundreds of miles away. It doesn’t matter how nearby you set your search radius or what age range you apply, you will be bombarded with likes from people on the other side of the world. I’m really disappointed in this app and feel I’ve wasted my money. The user base just isn’t there

Decent app but restrictive
Only started using Boo recently after it was recommended by a friend. There are plenty of features that I like compared to the like of tinder and hinge, such as the personalities, communities based on your interests etc. However the inability to be able to set a distance to look at potential matches is a something that I massively dislike about the app. You can set to “local (own country)” or global and that’s it. I want the ability to look at people in 15-20 mile/KM radius not everyone on my country who are 2 hours plus away. For this reason I personally would not recommend this app to anyone

Good app and pleasant experience!!
I have enjoyed my first few days on the app, it’s unique and blends social media with dating apps and it’s a nice change and for more engaging as well! My biggest issues with the app are: - the rewards you can get don’t seem to activate despite doing the things or don’t update to tell you that you got them - the location option does not have very great control over it and it seems like you cannot say you only want to see and talk to people locally, for the social media aspects that’s understandable but for matching and making friends I should be able to set a radius - there is no timer to tell you when you can make matches again, I hit the limit for the first time today after a VERY lazy morning in bed 😂 and it was not clear as to when I can match again - a dark mode would be nice 💕 Honestly though a great experience and I hope to see the app keep growing and getting better.

Really enjoying it so far
What’s different about Boo is that it’s got its own social media built in, like a mini Facebook, so there’s so much more than you get on any other dating platform. This is because it’s not purely for dating, it’s also for networking and friendships too. Bit on the note of the dating side, yes you do still get random match requests from West Africa and Indonesia despite setting that you don’t want these, but on the whole, everyone is spoken with had been real. I hadn’t come across a scam yet and I’ve been here almost a week. I LOVE that you can add as much to your profile as you want, and it’s not limited to Twitter length characters. Therefore people get to learn as much or as little about each other as they want. Biggest bonus of all, it’s got in-built translation for all languages! I hope Boo expands in popularity. Whilst there are already many thousands of users, I’d love to see it being used by many more as it offers much more than other apps.

Actually does what it claims
Boo is the first app I’ve come across that is actually honest about what you can do. Yes there are limitations, but if you have a free membership you can still send messages to people by using “coins”. You can pay for these or earn them through little tasks which are unintrusive.
The app also takes into consideration your likes and dislikes when suggesting people to speak with and lets you know whether your message might be seen as offensive to the recipient

I’m enjoying it
Really nice community, love that you can search anything you’re interested in and you’ll find others with the same passion. There’s a lot of filters and It’s great how they aren’t locked behind the membership. There is a coin system but they make it easy to acquire them which I find that it keeps the users active. Posting, messaging, sharing etc and not ending up with a dead app. Glad I saw your ad on Instagram and tried it out. Please don’t go the same way as the other apps 🙏🏻 5/5 so far.

Boo how great are you!
After many years of subscription to over 60 different dating apps and social networks I finally found something that actually does what it says on the box, a very welcoming community that enjoys good banter and dynamic inclusivity with the added bit of dating culture and social inclusion. And yet so far I have yet to found any fake or AI generated profiles with monetary advertising non existent once subscribed it’s even better. My only negative point is that surely a lifetime subscription should be made available at an affordable fifty pounds etc.

Much better than tinder
The setup is really simple, and reveals your personality type very quickly. It then gets to work straight away finding actually decent matches, I’ve spoken to loads more than I have in any app.
The community features are also great, and I love the way you can earn in-app currency every day rather than just paying a flat fee. You can also pay if you want too!
Overall a very good app, with great results.

Genuinely fun chatting app to use with some bot issues
Coming from tinder, bumble, etc, I was expecting this to be another generic dating/hookup app. I was pleasantly surprised however! Boo is not strictly a dating app, it’s a social platform. You can make posts there. Share photos with everyone on the platform, and become a part of different communities using hashtags. I’ve already met a couple of nice people who I’m friends with. As a bonus, the app does not have any predatory subscription models like tinder/bumble etc. you do have a limited summer of swipes for free but you can maximise this by earning “love” You get this by being a nice person in the community and messaging people. As far as I know, there are no limits to making posts, and you can still meet people like this as well! The app does have a big issue with bots. Somehow their verification stage is being abused by bots (but as you know, people that make bot accounts are absolutely brain dead and have no social skills so it shouldn’t be hard to pick up on.) As a bonus, successfully reporting bots and trolls nets you coins which you can use for boosts for your profile and posts, you can also get coins for free, again by just being active in the app. I was impressed as this is something that is usually only a premium option on other apps. Not sure how long this app will stay consumer friendly but until it changes, I can recommend it 🫡

This might actually work I thought when I downloaded it, I like finding out more about myself with the personality tests and the community posts can be fun but the men on this app! There are few ‘souls’ that meet my location and age filter and there are so many men on this job who have no jobs! Looking for someone on a level with me appears impossible so I went back to hinge. I feel like people here are collecting likes more so than many other app and I don’t understand the purpose of the coins. I think we should be able to swipe left and it not count towards our daily swipe limit as there’s so few potential matches available each day (fewer than bumble but more than hinge). This app will not persuade me to ditch any of the others needs to match me with more men who have a professional career or nice photos to make me enjoy it. Not too bad Dating app
Contrary to some whispers I’d heard, the Boo dating app isn’t half bad. In fact, there’s a fair bit to like about it. For starters, the interface is pretty user-friendly; you won’t find yourself navigating a labyrinth to set up your profile or search for matches. The app’s design is sleek and engaging, which definitely adds to the experience.

I’m not enjoying the app
At first thought it was great seemed like a really good space to meet like minded individuals but it times out the match so once I’ve sent a “love” (which is just swiping right like tinder!) it gives them 70 hours to respond which means if they don’t use the app for 70 hours they don’t see you’ve swiped right on them you only get like 20 swipes a day and that includes the left swipes so even if you swipe right on someone they might not have the swipes to reach your profile and then it gets times out and then that’s it you’ve lost that potential match?? Like I understand the bumble thing if 2 people aren’t talking time them out it makes sense but timing out the right swipe after 3 days ish just seems ridiculous! It’s all a cash grab getting people to pay for boo infinity which compared to other apps does seem more affordable but it’s still just a silly cash grab with no hope of ever meeting anyone

Boo: AI Powered Next-Gen Dating App Missing A Story?
Kind of uncertain how this app is pitching itself. It moots itself as an AI powered dating app but seems a little more than that under the covers. The point of the matter that Boo isn’t a pure-play dating app and has some community-building features in it such as discussion points.
There isn’t really a story of how these features integrate and as such the app is less of a functional tool to do a job (find me someone cute whose personality is compatible with mine so I can go on a date with them), and more of a collection of features that don’t seem properly integrated.

Won’t let me verify
I’m sure that the app is good and you can meet some actual good people but I can’t give it any higher than a 1 star since I can’t for the life of me get a verification on my profile no matter what I do; matching the nose challenge, I’m met with a failed verification and I’ve tried it at least 3 dozen times now. I tried the manual verification and I tried that the same amount of times and not even 30 seconds later it says it’s “not clear enough” and I’ve tried it every which way.
And since you need verification to have people see your profile, I’m getting no matches or message or anything.
Like I said, I’m sure it’s a good app but I can’t give it any higher than a 1 star until I’m able to actually get a proper verification. I hope this can be fixed or I can be in contact with the creators to get myself proper verification, and until that changes my review won’t change.

This app would be good if it stuck to their theme of ghosts. You're saying that people are matching based off personality but the lay out is practically the same as a lot of big brand dating apps. The ads made this seem like a blind dating app where you could reveal a picture of yourself if you wanted, however it asks you for pictures and displays them. It's literally badoo.
Concept for you: allow people to make avatars of ghosts, then after talking for a period of time allow them to have a photo feature (they have to talk for at least two hours and you can't just match with them it and wait). This would make this app so much more true to the advertising.

Worth it!
This app was recommended to me by a few friends and coworkers and I’m glad I signed up to it. I love the attention to detail with using personality types to accurately match with others - a feature most other dating/friend apps don’t have.
Also, just to add one more little thing for the Boo Team. Recently my app hasn’t loaded for awhile and I can’t access anything. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or maybe an update is due?

Good idea but down to clientele
I love how the app uses MBTI to help you find your match as well as other good measures of compatibility. However, it all comes down to the people on the app. If they don’t put info in the bio, if they don’t utilise these features it’s not optimal for finding the right match. It’s better than other apps I’ve used, but I think that the type of person I’m looking for isn’t on any app and so many people are the same. Great idea but it all genuinely depends on your clientele. May work better in different locations.

All dating apps seem to advertise themselves by saying that they’re better than other apps and try to guarantee that they will get it right, then if you get the apps they are just an exact copy, but Boo actually does have different features that make it easier to find someone right for you. I love the personality test as I enjoyed doing it myself and found my result very accurate. I also think it is a really interesting way to understand what someone may be like as they have taken a quiz themselves to get that personality type. You are also really encouraged on Boo to answer fun questions about yourself and give more of an idea about your personality and who you are so there are no accounts left bare.

Boo the app to be ghosted on!
Like most dating apps (and all the tricks and cons they employ) things start off well you’ll get bombarded with likes and potential matches, but these soon dry up, most turn into dead ends with no response, imagine my surprise! Then all you’ll get is the standard barrel scrapers and profiles trying to direct you to only fans and the likes. I’m now only getting views and potential matches from far off countries in such places as Asia and South America, that’s handy if I had a boat load of frequent flyer miles!
It might work for some, the idea on paper sounded good, but the test is irrelevant and matches, certainly in my area, are thin on the ground.
The payment options seem pricey to me and now I’ve used the app certainly not worth the cost.

Let’s be honest this app was marketed as better than Tinder, Bumble etc but it’s the same if not even worse as you get matched with people in foreign countries even if the setting for oversees is turned off, and the app encourages men and women to become narcissistic and self obsessed about their image as it includes a social media feed in which people post things for attention and likes. Its completely out of place for a dating app and doesn’t make sense. For example, men can pay extra to send ‘compliments’ to women which is INSANE and basically turned the whole thing into a donations site or OnlyFans. Why would I want to match or try to date a girl who has a profile that’s received tons of these? It just shows she chats to a ton of other men and milking it instead of actually trying to find a ‘date’. It’s absolutely disgusting and the opposite of trying to find ‘the one’, as I thought the whole point in this app was to find a decent person to take on a date, and not someone who’s openly got a profile full of man meat liking and PAYING tips to see their every move. Someone matched with me the other day with 100K followers, eww gross.

Downloaded app, jumped through all the painstaking hoops. Unable to set radius, so most people shown are a gazillion miles away. Only a small amount of swipes, around 10 or so, unless you pay an extortionate fee, one being £200 for a lifetime… Really? what is the app developer on? Deleted app after around half an hour… thats good for my patients when it comes to frustrating technology. You have to watch all the jargon, before the ‘next’ button is available. Why not have a advertisement option I wonder?… Maybe the app is not as popular as its rivals, which are far ahead of the game. Rant over…

Keyword hiding feature is great
I’ve only just started using the app, so only time will tell, but this is the first app I’ve been able to hide polyamory from my results which is great. I wish more apps would let me do that, it’s a pretty big difference between compatibility that other apps seem to tiptoe around, but will allow you to filter based on things like height which seem trivial in comparison. You can do that here too, but that’s not like it’s a problem so long as bigger details (hah) are also covered.

Still finding feet but definitely has potential
New to dating in general so perhaps not the expert on how good this app is but so far it is more interesting than the others I’ve tried and I feel like there is more potential for finding something meaningful. Using the 16 type personality test as a guide, as well as character breakdown and advice for what will and won’t work with each individual based on their types is great and I think will help in the minefield that is online dating.

The app shows all the signs of being a fantastic app for genuine social interactions of all kinds.
I've so far had two stints on this app, the first time I made a bunch of cyber pals whom I am still in contact with to this day, honest genuine folk .
Here's the problem:
There simply isn't enough incentive towards getting people out to travel & meet the friends they have made, there are people who just seem to post all the time simply looking for likes and nothing more, there are other apps which that can be done on, rather than an app which has been advertised as a means to meet new friends from around the world. (Which can also be done on other free apps) I'm not saying everyone has to meet every match, but there are certain types of matches I've made in the past who just want attention from me and refuse to answer the most basic of questions about themselves.
As I understand, the goal of the app is connection; yet sadly most of the time all it offers is a watered-down superficial cyber-relationship akin to Instagram, snap chat, or Twitter. It has so many promising elements but I don't want the app to feel like a paid version of free apps that have been out for year's.
Take a leaf out of Thursday and Bumbles book and start hosting events, Boo has the potential to be so much more genuine than any of those.
I really have liked the app it's just constructive criticism where I feel the app could advance itself & not begin to stagnate.

Data Harvesting?
I had tried deleting my profile twice and the data had been kept without my knowledge - this is misleading. I had to manually withdraw my pics and info on my profile as I seem to be still getting matches from other users. (I get email notifications). I do think it is unethical to mislead others to - thinking the person they’re matching is still an active user. I did speak to the customer support only to be under minded as if I was an idiot 🤦🏻♀️ thinking I was purposely a activating it… it’s a good app to begin with but you gotta double check and ensure their not harvesting your data and keeping it without telling you.
