Description
Wolow is a wake on LAN app that allows you to remotely start up a computer by sending a "magic packet" request.
Simply add a device configuration inside the app, select the device you would like to start up and then press the power button and as long as your configuration is correct you can watch your computer startup.
Wake on LAN is a network protocol that is supported by the majority of Ethernet cards available. Before using the app ensure your computer is fully configured to work with the wake on LAN protocol. A guide on how to set up your computer can be found within the app at the bottom.

Even with the companion app it simply doesn’t work. It wakes up the computer and that’s all

Shutdown, sleep, reboot and lock not working
I’m on latest version for Wolow app and Wolow companion but I’m still not able to do any of these features except wake up my pc. The app is also allowed access through the network.

Really like the app, would like watch support
I’m currently having to use this whilst I await a replacement power button for my case, which has broken. The app functions how you’d expect, and is easy to setup with the companion. I would love if the app had support for Apple Watches for WoL too!

Great useful app
Very handy app to have if you use RD and plex, only issue is there seem to be no widgets for the app anymore they aren’t appearing on add widgets. Other than that it’s great even bought the premium.

Great app
Needed an easy way to turn on PC from phone, my PC is upstairs but sometimes I like to stream games to my Nvidia shield in the living room.
Now I can turn it on from my phone and connect the shield without leaving the living room.
Easy to set up with the windows companion app.
Paid for premium as I think the developer deserves support for creating such a simple and useful app.

Very nice app
Purchased premium to support the good work. Improvement - export of configuration saves it to iPhone location which is not accessible through files app therefore not really useful of the export if we can’t access the file to do an import later

Worked first time no problems. Can you add shortcut compatibility so i can use the side button on the iphone 15 pro to turn on my mac?

It never works
I have a Synology NAS. Sending the magic packet to wake it up rarely works. Seems to depend exactly how the NAS was shutdown at last event. If you shut the NAS down using the power button it might restart with the magic packet. If it was shut down last time using the NAS auto shutdown timer programme the magic packet won’t restart the Synology NAS.
WOL Nice idea but doesn’t deliver.

Does what it says on the tin
Lovely app and a very good price !
Please add Siri support if possible so I don’t have to open the app to turn on the computer . It would be very convenient to voice command the PC as opposed to having to open the app and do it that way
Great app and the £1.99 for the extra features is really worth it and it also supports the developer

This app doesn’t work
I used ‘wake me up’ which works fine and not s only 2mb. RemoteBoot also works better but privacy is a bit of concern.

No Device Status in Siri Shortcuts
No Linux support and lack of a shortcut to show device status doesn’t make this much more useful than the SSH built in shortcut as it can also wake up a device…

Excellent App!
I had some problems initially but to be honest just going to the website and going through the simple to follow troubleshooting steps it eventually worked wonderfully.
If you’re having problems remember one size doesn’t fit all with different devices, motherboards, network cards etc etc but the underlying principles aren’t too complex thankfully so issues are relatively easy to resolve.

Doesn’t work for me
I configured my motherboard correctly and gave my pc a static IP. Shutdown works with the Wolow companion but my machine does not start remotely.

Please add automatic separation on MAC Address
Just used this app for the first time. Works well. I entered MAC address without separation. Received validation that it was in an incorrect format. Please add automatic hyphens after each 2 characters, then it will be 5* :)

For me I have to switch on my pc first by the actual pc and if I switch it off than I can use this app for some reason. I recommend it however it’s very cool

Works, but status tracking doesn’t
This app is very easy to use and does what it’s supposed to do. The only function that doesn’t work is the status detector that pairs with the companion program for desktops. According to this, my pc is either always on or always off, regardless of whether or not I use the app or the power button to turn it on or off.
If this was fixed, I would give five stars. But until then, four out of five. Thanks dev :)

Works like a charm
I was able to set it up and start using the features to awaken, put to sleep, reboot and power off my machine with 5 minutes of getting the app.
The developer was really helpful when I got in touch to ask about the Status value I saw in Wolow.

Works perfectly, one small suggestion though.
So this works flawlessly, I do have a suggestion and I hope the developers see this and take note.
I think the ability to make a Siri shortcut with this would be great. It’s be awesome to just say something like ‘Hey Siri, turn on my computer’ and it wakes up.

Simple, well designed and reliable
I wanted something simple to turn on my PC remotely so I no longer have to risk skin lacerations from the forest of cacti that live between me and the power button on its front.
I was expecting to spend some time testing and reconfiguring my PC but it wasn’t necessary. It quite literally worked first time.
The app is free, but I spent a quid because I think the developer deserves it. It’s also useful to see the PC active status since it lives in an outbuilding.
Sometimes less is more, and this app does what it does beautifully, rather than being cluttered with unnecessary features or adverts such is the fashion these days.
Well done to the developer. Don’t change it!

Really easy to setup, Jack’s website is updated whenever changes are made and the app updates are always clear.
Adding a sleep feature rounds off the power management needed to control your PC on the go.

Worked first time
Simple to set up, easy to use. Make sure you put colons in the MAC address. Worked first time. Other apps might have more features but for a free app it’s brilliant!
