Infuriating to use!

A friend highly recommended Matter to me. It sounded like just what i wanted….an app to consume huge amounts of online and email content, annotate and save just the bits i wanted and then keep them for later use. But, after hours of giving Matter a go, I’m ditching the app. Maybe its just too early in the apps development cycle, but I found it confusing, frustrating and maddening to use.

Great app, but it needs proper integration with Readwise

The integration with Readwise is a must otherwise it makes no sense for me :/

Blasts competition out the water

It’s so much better than Instapaper and pocket. The ability to tag, queues, play the articles. It’s a fantastic app really well built. Good work.

Fantastic App with Lots of Potential

As the title says - this app is fantastic, relatively new but can already compete with the likes of Pocket, Speechify and Instapaper. Text to speech is fantastic and does not sound robotic.
The only downside so far is that the app does not keep your phone screen on when reading text, which is a shame. If the app could work similar to Kindle narration this would be fantastic

Why is this so hard?

When I share a page to matter, it didn’t save, then it was fixed, now it’s broken again. It says “saved to queue”, but it isn’t. Pressing read in Matter just shows a loading spinner forever.

Love the idea but

Update***
Thank you very much, tagging option while saving has arrived so I’m updating my review as promised!
I love some of the features of this app such as automated newsletter from my email etc. However one of the use cases I have for such apps like pocket or matter is to save not onlyarticles but anything I find interesting from the web. For this I need a tagging system. Although matter has tagging option, unfortunately you can’t tag your save without going into app and selecting your saved material and tagging it. Pocket lets me do this while I am adding something when using the share button. As soon as a material is saved it asks me if I want to add a tag. This is so important to me for managing all the things I save. Once this option arrives I will definitely update my review!
