Description

Self-report daily. Help slow the outbreak. Identify those at risk sooner.
Take 1-minute to self-report daily, even if you are well. Help our scientists identify:
* How fast the virus is spreading in your area
* High-risk areas in the UK
* Who is most at risk, by better understanding symptoms linked to underlying health conditions
You are also contributing to advance research on COVID-19 in partnership with leading scientific institutions like King’s College London and the Twins Study, one of the most clinically detailed studies in the world.
This app allows you to help others, but does not give health advice. If you need health advice please visit the NHS website at:  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
This app is designed by doctors and scientists at King's College London, Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals and Zoe Global Limited, a health technology company.
If you would like to help out in this difficult time, then you can. Download the app and share daily your own status, even if you are well. With your help we can understand much better the situation up and down the country, how the disease presents itself to different people, and how it progresses.
This is a new virus in the UK and has never been seen before. There are a wide range of symptoms, which differ between people. With your help we can understand better how the disease presents itself depending upon individual factors such as health and age.
No information you share will be used for commercial purposes.
There are two parts to the app:
HEALTH INFORMATION
You will be asked to share some general information, such as your age and some health information, such as whether you have certain diseases.
SYMPTOM TRACKING
We will ask you every day to let us know how you feel, so you can share your symptoms. We will also ask whether you have visited the hospital, what treatment you received there, and whether you have been tested for COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

What's New in Version 1.0

Added questions on relevant health factors: Corticosteroids use, blood pressure medication, whether previously had COVID-19 or classic symptoms in the last 7 days.
Added questions on emerging symptoms: loss of smell/taste, hoarse voice, unusual chest or abdominal pain.
Fixed an issue preventing people logging in, and fixed metric units to accept decimal values.

This app does not work if you have larger fonts or using a screen reader. Developers appear to have totally ignored accessibility guidelines.

Another bandwagon jumper

Another company jumping on the bandwagon when the world is at its worst. The app will only create more panic and it’s been rushed to release as it’s missing too much required information.
Your reviews are already low stick with your current apps you have out there this looks like a pure marketing scam.

List whole family under one account

It would be good if you could add other family members to one account. This would you to track how Covid-19 spreads within a family group. Being able to add Previous symptoms experienced could identify if people/family groups have already been ill with mild symptoms — perhaps for potential antibody testing.

A good idea to collect information, however my symptoms started 6 days ago and it only gives me the option to put today’s symptoms in?! I didn’t know about the app prior to today.

Track other symptoms?

I marked myself as unwell, as I have a cold, seems to be very normal “nose” cold, no temperature, so I said “no” to all symptoms. I also have red itchy eyes which seem to be presenting in some patients. But it seems some (rare) COVID cases are just like colds, so don’t you want to capture/track “outlying” symptoms as well? (Don’t think I have COVID19, but am self-isolating, obviously!)

Limited options

As with some of the other reviews here - this is a good idea but there are very limited survey options.
For example, I have lost my sense of smell and taste, which I understand could be a symptom but is not an option on the survey.
There is also no sense of ‘time’ so it is not really a tracker per se.

Doesnt ask for recent symptoms only current

As a result I can’t advise that last week for several days I had a fever, dry cough, trouble breathing and just prior to that felt unusually fatigued for 3-4 days.
Instead I can only (with honesty) register as just feeling a little unwell, as I feel a slight difficulty in breathing now that the rest of the symptoms have subsided.
Would the folks making use of the data collected feel that knowing of people who had symptoms but are recovering could be helpful? They might I suppose, but this app at present won’t help them.

Good App but needs more options

Easy to use and hopefully the data will be put to good use, (pleasing to see it wasn’t being used as an advertising platform).
Needs an option if symptoms are declared to say ‘at work’. Currently assumes hospital or home which may be the right thing to do but forgets that some will be at work regardless whether they want to or not.

Great idea but a little flawed.

I find the idea of this app fantastic! It will be extremely helpful in tackling this disease and documenting lots of data. My main issue and area for suggestion is for the questions relating to whether you think you have had it. I myself believe my partner and I have had Covid-19 but despite me coming into possible contact with the disease I was not deemed ‘high risk’ by NHS 111 and was therefore not tested. This is where I think the app falls short of being incredibly helpful to scientists and data analysts. Where you ask ‘do you think you have had Covid-19?’ You should then ask what symptoms the person had, how long they lasted for, had they come into potential contact with someone with Covid-19 and how long before symptoms started presenting, and ask for a quick diary of events and a summary as to why they think they had it. The reason for this is you will get a better picture of incubation time, access fully the extent of how many were a 90%+ sure they had it, how many it may have been a cold, and based on age range, location, underlying illness you can find out survival statistics, severity of symptoms and get a rough idea of possible herd immunity going on. Basically your data would be more thorough, extensive and she’s better light on this disease which may be useful to the NHS, scientists and government. With all that said I still encourage people to use this app and keep up to date with how they feel in these uncertain times!

Good Job

Great job, thank you for developing this app.
As others suggested, a free text field where we can fill up other symptoms such as: nasal congestion or cough but not in the frequency in the options etc should be useful.
Also, the symptoms come and go, there are days you feel you have recovered and the following days you deteriorate.

Pregnancy and back button

Fantastic idea. Thank you 👏
Agree with everyone else’s ideas for improvements but also:
1. I don’t classify being pregnant as a “medical problem” so there is no way of adding that info in (also you should ask people to specify number of weeks pregnant)
2. You need to include a back button so you can rectify/change answers - particularly since wording of questions so far are very vague

Current sufferer

Great idea, but could be improved by asking about when the symptoms started and on what days did you have certain symptoms. I’ve only just got this app and I’m at day 12 so almost recovered but wanted to tell my full story but can’t the way it asks the questions currently. None the less a great step in the right direction.

Needs more features

Great start but needs some additions. I can’t go back and correct data that was input incorrectly. Also no way to input data from previous few weeks as we’ve been tracking symptoms in the family for last 2 weeks plus it’s not listing enough of the other symptoms that definitely come with Covid 19. We are in an area where there was a handful of positive tests made 3 weeks ago but then due to the time taken to get results plus the schools not closing (even though one positive test occurred in a school) Covid 19 has clearly spread rapidly in our community. There are lots of us down with symptoms and isolating but no tracking or testing going on due to change in policy.

Work In progress

Hi guys.
Tried to register this morning and received error messages. Went back later and found I was registered and had already answered a few questions ( unknown to me - probably due to key strokes being picked up by accident). No way to go back to see what had been input and correct if necessary. Will lead to false data. Fantastic idea and I hope it gives you lots of data.
