eSIM wouldn’t work, gave up and went with Airalo
installed eSIM but it wouldn’t work, spent over 30 minutes with support doing various different troubleshooting things with my phone. After going back and forth and the sim still not working I requested a refund. No refund was given but I was offered a QR code which I was not able to scan on my own device. Mind you im at the airport and im not going to mess around trying to get a ‘second device’ as suggested to scan a QR code. No reason was given as to why I could not just add it manually with a code or be given a refund so I could attempt to install a new sim. All in it was a frustrating experience and I will never purchase another sim with them. The colleague tried to help and was likely only following procedure but what an annoying experience with nomad. No issues with airalo sim.

I definitely won’t be using this again. My 5GB of data, which is supposed to last 30 days, was drained within just a few days. Compared to other services, this has been the worst experience I’ve had. I’m always careful to turn off apps that use a lot of data, yet it still ran out extremely quickly. In less than two weeks, I had already used it up and ended up buying another 10GB. I definitely won’t be using this app again.

Best e-sim app I’ve tried
Used Airalo in the past for Thailand and had a few issues with O2 still charging me. Airalo also apparently ran out of data + minutes packages. This is bizarre as it’s a virtual good.
Last minute got an e-sim with Nomad that was £15 for 15 days. Unlimited everything and £10 cheaper than Airalo’s out of stock e-sim.
Was expecting some issues but had absolutely none. Cheapest price and highest quality.
Will be using again.

No vat receipt, impossible to contact support the links just take you to useless articles
Needed vat receipt. Wasn’t in emails like it promised. Help pages says you can contact support but the links just take you to useless help page articles which also promise that contacting support will help but it still just sends you back to useless support pages. Chat bot asks for order ID and when entered it still keeps asking for it again, even though it was copied from the app saying “paste this order code into support chat”.
The service in Sharm el Sheikh was very good mobile signal but the data kept cutting out so I had to turn the eSIM on and off again every few minutes even though I was staying in the same place. If I moved around cell towers I regularly had to completely reboot the phone to get the data to work, badly. Very hesitant data, it’s like they don’t have a direct contract with orange or Vodafone and it’s like a sub-network, the data was severely delayed and hesitant on regular cycles of delays (nothing to do with signal, signal was fine three bars and when I moved to the other part of the room and got only one bar I still got exactly the same speed and exactly the same on-off signal delays intermittency so it’s not signal problems).
Having said that, my work VPNs worked so long as I tweaked the MTU down to 1280. But I got pings of 2 seconds every five minutes and 200mS usually.

Scammers - double payment taken and refund refused!
While paying for my sim the app showed me an error message and asked me to try again. Tried again and of course the previous transaction had actually gone through. Double payment. Simple enough I thought - I can contact their customer service for a refund of one of the sims. Customer service admitted an error but still refused a refund. Reported to my bank and will be getting both transaction disputed shortly. Will ask bank to file complaint too. To those who see this please do the same when dealing woth scammer masquerading as real businesses

Bad app; good eSIM
I have used 2 eSIMs from Nomad in developing parts of the world and they have been brilliant. That being said, the app has its problems. A key issue is that when attempting to sign into my account to monitor usage of my eSIM, I am met with the response ‘Something went wrong. Too many requests’. This is incredibly frustrating as I do not wish for my eSIM to run out of data when I need it, and not being able to monitor the usage because of the aforementioned issue is concerning.

I tried Nomad in Spain. Very quickly it just stopped working because I used 2Gb already. Next day same thing. It is unusable for modern services. I asked for a refund they just say no their terms state no refunds.

Have used nomad eSim twice. First time in Singapore and Malaysia and it worked reasonable well. The latest was in the Caribbean and was having problems getting it to work. Sometimes it worked other times not despite there appearing to be reception. Left me with no data services at times when I needed it. Would never use them again

Confusing, unreliable and no support
I’m really disappointed with this app - it simply does not work and the installation process is incredibly confusing.
The app constantly tells me I’m not connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data, even though my connection is
strong, so I haven’t been able to access the app to see my usage or spending throughout my entire trip.
What makes things even more unsettling is that the settings required for my eSIM to work are totally different from my sister’s, even though she’s using the same provider. This makes me really uneasy about whether I’m being charged more, especially since I can’t access the app at all.
I’m traveling to Qatar tomorrow and still can’t activate the eSIM. It’s really frustrating that the app requires you to scan a QR code on your own phone to install the eSIM—how are you meant to do that? To make things worse, I can’t log in on the website because it doesn’t work, and there is absolutely no way to contact customer service.
Overall, I’m left confused, stressed, and very uneasy about billing. I’m heading to a new destination alone and now feel like I won’t have internet when I really need it. This has been an incredibly disappointing experience.

No feedback or compliant can be given from the customer
I generally enjoy using Nomad’s services, however an unpleasant situation occurred recently and that’s when I found out customers cannot make any feedback or complaints to help the app to improve. There’s just no way to do it , the customer service from contacts explained, which is unacceptable. Especially the issue I had was a direct problem from using the app - it showed inaccurate data information which caused me to be out of data all of sudden and in the country I was not able to activate a new SIM card within. I simply just wanted to report this issue so that hopefully their engineers could fix the bug so that nothing further as such would happen again to anyone. I hope someone from the feedback department will read my review and have this issue resolved.

Slow, connection constantly dropping
Honestly, I do not understand how this service is still here. I tried it few times, and I have the same problem every single time. It works - not great - for a day or two then the connection starts to drop constantly as well as the internet speed. Got in contact with the support, useless requirements that don’t make any sense, asking me to take screenshots after screenshots of useless screens, although I explained that I did not make any changes from the time it used to work. Deleted my account and uninstalled the app. What a joke.

Dodgy ESims - Use Airalo
I used Nomad for work travelling on the tennis tour. The esims would randomly cut out and the customer service would take days to fix it. On some cases they wouldn’t even sort the problem. Just switched to Airalo after hearing a lot of similar problems from nomad from colleagues and I’ve had no problems so far.

Terrible customer service
I bought an eSIM in advance, ready for my holiday. When it came time to travel, I discovered it had already expired. Confused, I checked the confirmation email I received after purchase, which clearly stated that the eSIM wouldn’t activate until it was actually installed. That’s why I contacted customer service.
Apparently, before purchase there’s a section that says the eSIM will automatically expire after 60 days, even if it hasn’t been installed. That’s all fine and well, but then why does the confirmation email say the exact opposite?
I went round in circles with customer support. All they could repeat was that it says before purchase the eSIM will expire after 60 days, and that customers are expected to check all the information before buying. But when they’re sending out completely contradictory statements, how am I supposed to know which one is correct and which one to ignore? They refused to acknowledge the mixed messaging in the email.
They repeated the same scripted response so many times that I genuinely wondered if I was talking to a human or just another AI. I was told multiple times that they couldn’t issue a refund, to which I explained I wasn’t asking for one, I just wanted the service I had paid for. Instead, they offered me a $3 discount code for my next purchase. I was offered this code repeatedly, but even when I pointed out that nobody had actually given me the code, they still failed to provide it.
My chat was closed five times, and at that point I gave up. I won’t be using this company again, especially when there are so many other options for eSIMs. They desperately need to learn some basic customer service skills, and I say that as someone who works in customer service myself. Simply acknowledging that the wording in the confirmation email was misleading and contradictory, and promising to fix it, would have gone a long way. Sadly, that was too much to ask.

First time I have ever used eSIM after looking for several weeks before our holiday my son had been looking as well after reading reviews my son said this one is the better than most he had read so we gave it a try I was sceptical at first but as soon as we landed in Cyprus true to its word I was connected and the internet connection was outstanding 5G not a problem anywhere in Cyprus I got the 50gb cheaper than your service provider or bolt on to your tariffs, Vodafone was going to charge substantially to have it added on to my service you can keep track of your data .
I would highly recommend I will not use anything else now provided that I can get the data .

Not bad? I've never had a sim not work instantly. The downside with a lot of these cheap providers (nomad included) is your data gets routed via weird places. In the continental US, my location shows up as Puerto Rico. In Japan I appeared as Hong Kong (and consequently some sites were blocked). It's not like other providers like Saily are any better. It's almost always better to find a genuine local provider, but Nomad is convenient and the price/GB is often reasonable. Unlike other actual telephony providers which give you access to top up, you can only buy a sim if you're alraady online and if you run out of data you'll need to find a hotspot.

One of the glitchiest apps I’ve ever used
Rubbish app, half the buttons don’t work, good luck trying to contact customer support (every time I try, the button sends an error message), the two esims I downloaded didn’t work so in the end I gave up and bought a physical sim. Twice when I did finally get through to customer support they were helpful, but the app really needs work, it’s very frustrating!

This my first time i use Nomad eSIM for my break, very easy straight forward to set up.
Once you landed on your destination bang on you connect with a network. The only issue sometimes can’t get internet connection but it still works great. Good value for data use better elsewhere I seen on websites.

SCAM! Be aware!
This company is a total SCAM! Be careful. I purchased a data plan to use in Solomon Islands. It did not work at all. I requested a refund well before the expire date and they simple responded saying I used the data. I had no internet access at all in Solomon Islands. I have been travelling for one year and I normally use the Airalo app. Did not use for Solomon because they do not offer. But please, if you can, use Airalo. It is absolutely perfect. APPLE, please review the company you are offering your platform to. This company is disgusting!

Fast connections and working well so far
Having received a couple of recommendations from friends who travel extensively I decided to give this a try while I was in the UK. It seems to be working really well. I’m getting the most exceptional 5G speeds and the fact you can choose to buy an eSIM for different networks is very good if you’re in an area that has patchy coverage. I’m going to try it in other countries Worldwide over the course of the next few months and will get a good idea for how well it works but according to my friends use it exceptional to get the same as this has been more experience in the UK and also when I tried it in Ireland. The next place is on the list, Bermuda, Spain and the United States.

Had never done the eSIM before, to be honest hadn’t heard of it. Being told by my operator I could use my data whilst abroad for £5 a day I did a bit of research and learnt about eSIM through Nomad. Has absolutely changed my approach!
I’m now lowering my phone bill from £21 a month to £12 a month and will just buy a £5-£10 eSIM as and when I go abroad!

Nice app, did find a bit of a flaw though
I have a family visit to the US coming up so wanted to but four eSIMs to the share with my family. First three were great, but the fourth failed because apparently you are only allowed three. This is kinda okay but I’ve deducted two stars because they only tell you this AFTER they have taken payment through Apple Pay, which is a pretty iffy thing to do.

Works like a charm. I have an iPhone 12 - so has eSIM as an additional line. Used this for China & South Korea - worked very well. Got 10GB for 30 days but my trip was only 10 days. Used 85% by end of trip. Cost about £15 which on Vodafone roaming charge would have only covered 2 days. Highly recommended.

DO NOT USE - the sim doesn’t work and awful customer service
I live in Portugal and needed more data so wanted to get an esim across Europe as I travel. After going through the activation process, I was getting no data and so made contact with the team.
Their team initially sent instructions, however took over a day to reply to each message after the intial instructions didn’t work. And every time they reply, it’s with a different person so I have to provide context again as to the issues.
After taking a week to finally hear from them how to fix the activation issue, the actual data still doesn’t work. I am now paying but cannot even use the service. After asking for a refund, I was told I can’t have it in cash, I have to have it as credit for a service that doesn’t even work. They are now not even replying to my messages. It’s been the worst customer service I’ve experienced in years.
I would strongly recommend using Airalo. A far better service and product.

After using another eSIM provider in Thailand and having a bad experience I found Nomad for a trip to the UAE. Great pricing for a few days out there with 1GB per day which was more than enough for getting around. Set up was very easy and the plan didn’t start until data started being used, which was very helpful for pre installing at home and activating on arrival. Would definitely use this service again.

Cyprus packet did not work for north cyprus
Cyprus packet did not work for north cyprus they did not refund me, they told me they will credit in points and i can purchase turkey package after so much delayed communication. When i go to finally purchase turkey package it gives a error and asks me to pay 40p when it was the same price as previous package, everytime took 40p 7 times! Then i realised with dollar it works without paying extra because the points work to the dollar. Then the package was out of stock!! Its been a absolute nightmare. Thank god i paid on my credit card so im able to get my money back but the company is hard work. They asked me upto the time of the transaction. Which again i doubt they would of refunded after all this.

Very impressed
I recently used the Nomad app for the first time, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed! I was searching for a SIM solution for my holiday in Brazil, and Nomad came through with flying colors. The coverage was exceptional, ensuring I stayed connected throughout my trip. Setting up the eSIM was a very easy, and the convenience it provided was unmatched. Used In Japan
Started using about 10 days ago in Japan. Have needed to have good access. I got the 20gb plan and seamlessly signed up. Turned on eSIM on arrival.
Works almost perfectly. In Osaka noticed some issues but was around cherry blossom season and on a weekend. Otherwise coverage has been spot on.
Using the plan I have used 15gb in 10 days - this has included downloading some vids and streaming some vids as well as heavy use sharing location, messaging in group chats and browsing the net.
Great company and the app displays simply what’s remaining.
Recommend and will absolutely use again.

Not working in Vanuatu
I purchased a 5 GB eSIM for use in Vanuatu. Although bought on the Nomad app, it is actually provided by a separate company, Truphone, although their helpline takes you to IGLOBAL. It’s been almost impossible to connect to a mobile network - it has done a few times but soon stops. The people at IGLOBAL told me that they could see the eSIM but it was “empty”. I’ve been communicating with all 3 companies - IGLOBAL was helpful in finding the problem but couldn’t fix it. But really NOMAD should do this. I’ve also subsequently seen some truly awful reviews of Truphone.

Nomad for APAC
After a false start or 2 with the install - instructions didn’t quite match to my UK iPhone - using nomad has been great for our 5 week trip. Automatically connects to the local service and as our data usage has mainly been browsing, maps/directions, booking excursions, and WhatsApp msgs and pics, we’ve used very little of our 20gb.
Staff were quick to respond via the nomad app when I was struggling to get set up, and offered lots of help. Just need to check the instructions for uk users as terminology and menu opens use slightly different wording.

Great
I’ve used quite a few eSIM providers for various countries both personally and as donations to help people who are only able to use esims, and Nomad has to be the best for customer service. I’m really impressed with how responsive and helpful everyone I’ve spoken to has been every time I’ve had to get in touch which can’t be said for some other providers. It’s reassuring to know that if there are any issues they are receptive to finding a solution as opposed to just keeping the money. I read a review saying it was a scam and that person clearly didn’t feel the same as me but genuinely I can’t fault my experience.

It just works
I returned to the UK from Singapore for an extended spell.
I didn’t want to replace my Singapore SIM card as I already had the Devyce X-pat app installed which gave me unlimited UK texts and calls from any Wi-Fi internet connection worldwide.
The Nomad data only eSIM enables me stay connected in the UK whilst away from a Wi-Fi connection. So I’m able to surf the net and make calls and texts in the UK as if I had inserted a UK sim.
I did have some connectivity issues in the first couple of weeks in a couple of areas within the Watford area. I reported this and it hasn’t happened again. I’ll use Nomad again in my travels if it’s available in south east Asia.

Great product, easy to use, great value
I had never heard of eSIMs let alone Nomad until we went to New Zealand, but I will now use them whenever we leave Europe as they seem to cover most of the world and far far cheaper than roaming with a UK provider.
Nomad has provided fast data throughout NZ’s north and south islands and has been the first choice for internet in some of the (not cheap!) hotels where Nomad was faster than the hotel’s wifi!
Would recommend to anyone - easy to install, very low price and totally reliable.

Avoid the scam company!
I have previously used a Nomad eSIM in America with no problems. However on a recent weekend trip to Malta I tried to purchase an eSIM however it stopped working after an hour or so. I then was refunded so purchased another which again stopped working after a few hours. This was refunded again, and I had to purchase another three eSIMS which all stopped working again after a few hours. I really needed the mobile internet to navigate on holiday which is why I kept purchasing new ones. However Nomad are refusing to refund the eSIMS at all saying I must have used all the data on them and sending me patronising and rude messages about how I must have somehow updated my phone over mobile data? I am pretty tech savvy so know how to turn off mobile data for iCloud backups and updates etc. really shocking customer service from this scam company.

Great solution for data
This has been a really simple and efficient solution to getting data in different countries. I signed up for the European data plan and been able to use it in the UK, Belgium and France. The partner network providers are good and quality of internet is solid.

Works well!
It was easy to setup (just read the instructions as you go) and it means I can keep my personal SIM and number still in use while travelling. Internet has worked well and been generally good, connecting quickly in every location I’ve travelled to so far (I’m travelling through various countries in Asia using the multi-region APAC sim), it’s a good option for those needing data and not wanting to queue at the airport in the country or fiddle with switching physical SIM cards

Disappointed
I had a fairly decent experience using Nomad in the UK for the 5 days there. The app appears to be exactly what I’m looking for: active an eSIM everywhere you go.
Had the chosen network carrier quality been great in the uk, this would have gotten 3 stars because when I did the same for the USA, it didn’t work at all.
I don’t know how many times I followed the instructions on my brand new iPhone 15 Pro but it was not working.
Complete opposite to the uk where at least it did work.
I think Nomad has a lot of potential but probably needs a live support, which I’d more than happily pay for to have got this sim to work. Unfortunately it was much easier for me to find an alternative app I downloaded which worked instantly, with the time and patience I had.

More complicated than expected
It was not quite as straightforward to get up and running as did not realise that you need to go via the app to get up and running. Customer services were very helpful and got back very quickly so much appreciated.

NOMAD Multi country Esim
I recently been travelling from uk to Sweden and then to USA , I installed a 30 day esim from Nonad for single country “USA” the esim worked as soon as I landed in the USA. ( But important you must remember to turn off your Primary number line in setting , otherwise you be charged roaming charge fee from your primary line contract provider)
That being said the Nomad esim gave me carefree use of WhatsApp, emails, and internet access so I could get flight updates.
That was two months ago, presently I have had to make a trip to Dubai for short stay and then straight to India for 10 day and the in reverse to Dubai and then back to the uk. I purchased a 5G Global ( multi country) esim from Nomad , and from moment I left the uk and disabled my primary line in setting, the Nomad took up all WhatsApp, email and internet access painlessly.
The Nomad app shows you your remaining Gbytes left on your esim , so you can if necessary top-up painlessly if you need while out of the uk.
I would use Nomad again every time I leave the uk.

Fantastic flexibility and savings
After getting stung in Turkey for £60 roaming fees I decided to liok for alternatives and found Nomad. I have just tried them on my trip to Uzbekistan and they were fantastic, a couple of minutes to set up, no physical SIM to swap and have to look after your original and dirt cheap. Definitely one to keep and use again.

It would be great if you label each data plan, I run with 4 data plans on several phones and I can never tell which one is which as I cannot change the label on each plan, like I could on Airalo, but I prefer to use NOMAD as it’s a better app for payment purposes.

Perfect!
I never leave reviews, but I am genuinely so impressed by this app. I’ve used it in four different countries in two different continents, over the past 5 months and it’s been perfect.
I had a slight loss of connection for maybe 4 hours in the USA, but that was handle well by Nomad and I was given money off my next Sim for the inconvenience.
The price of these eSims are so reasonable in comparison to other providers and they also offer data only Sims. Would 100% recommend.

Great option for travel data
I went on a trip to New York and my data company was going to charge me £7 a day just to use my data plan (not even including calls or texts).
I ended up buying 10GB of data for £14. This was a lot more than I actually needed as I still have 7GB after 6 days. I’ve downloaded apps, watched movies and had the data on constantly and it’s still more than enough. Additionally, i’ve consistently had 4G service but also have had access to 5G regularly too.
The app does tell you very easily how to install the SIM card. I didn’t read this and it caused a little confusion but I figured it out fairly after reading what I needed to do 😂.
Really great option when travelling and even for domestic use too.

Regional sims are not good, but others work well
Firstly the individual sims for each country work well. However after both myself and partner got regional sims they were very patchy and didn’t work well at all, so avoid them even if they work out cheaper. I think they a Hong Komg eSIM, as titkok didn’t work either (even with a VPN on). Stick to individual countries, they work well!

Worst Esim & Service I’ve experienced
Having travelled to 50+ countries over the past few years I’ve tried a number of different Esim services, but after hearing from a friend to try Nomad out I thought I’d try it for South Korea considering their competitive prices here.
It’s now been over 3 days and not only does the sim not work but their customer service has been terrible, no useful resolutions and then just no response, blanked completely asking for a refund…
I’ve never written a review before but everything about this service is truly disgusting, and hopeful I can convince one reader of this to just stick to Airalo or Ubigi.

Worked well, setup could be clearer
I got a sim to use in Japan. Setting up could have been easier:
-The app let me switch to GBP but payment failed (tried Apple Pay and PayPal) so had to pay in USD anyway.
-Instructions are for US iPhones, it’s slightly different for international versions.
-Instructions say to install sim ahead of time but not activate, but to install the sim you have to press a button marked ‘activate’ in iOS. Again, confusing and left me wondering if I was going to run out of time once I got to Japan.
-Activation took several hours, something to say this is normal would be useful as I was unsure if something had gone wrong.
Once in Japan my phone kept switching network and losing connection, I had to manually set the correct one.
Location aware websites seemed to think I was in Hong Kong which made finding things more difficult.
Overall though it was fine and a better option than renting a mobile router like I usually do. Will use again.

Perfect for holidays
Have used in the US, in Asia and in Australia so far, all sims have been perfect. Easy to purchase sims, prices decent, easy to install, quick speeds. So much better than using a physical sim card and no need to worry if you’ve forgotten about needing data till the last minute. 5/5.

Highly recommend
Used Nomad for a trip to SE Asia (Singapore/Thailand/Vietnam) and worked flawlessly the whole time. Was one of the only esim providers that included these countries in a regional pack. So could easily travel without having to think about it.
Easy installation and setup. The esim seems to switch providers for best coverage, so never felt I needed anything else!

It worked…but not always
The concept is great and the installation and set up was fine.
However I had to connect to wifi to activate the service (was travelling UK to Mexico) which meant no service upon landing.
After that it worked well 80% of the time. I felt it was slightly worse than ‘normal’ roaming via my carrier. But it was much cheaper.
