Great game with good balance of puzzles
Really enjoyed this game..a great combination of others in this series. Good balance of easier and tricky puzzles to solve, sometimes some lateral thinking combined with guess work and trial and error involved! Loved the fact that once items can no longer be used they disappear from bag..very helpful. Liked duration of game too…usually I start game and rush to complete it…my impatience! As this game had several elements to it and was longer I found I took my time…. Much more relaxing! :)

Long gameplay, immersive
Really enjoyed this. Hours of playtime, over 100 screens. A few of the puzzles were tough, had to revert to the YouTube help for clues. A mix of puzzle types. Navigation shortcuts were really helpful when hopping around the numerous screens.

This was a lot harder than the first edition & I had to use the clues more than I would have liked. Some o& the clues were a bit more esoteric for the more practical minded.

The game is good. The puzzles are good too. You need some advanced type of memory to get around the game and the problem there is you have to refer to the map all the time, but that is the only drawback.

Awesome
Really good game, plenty to keep you occupied and lots of new discoveries along the way. It helps with the videos if you find you are really stuck (or impatient, like me!!). All in all, couldn’t stop playing, I have downloaded two more games by this company now and I can’t wait to start playing.

Nonsense puzzles ruined the whole game
I’ve played all the big titles in this genre from all the top developers who make these adventure games , I have also enjoyed and played all the Syntaxity games in the past too.
However this game BC2 has left me feeling frustrated. 90% of the puzzles just don’t have logic to them, and believe me I love to scratch my head trying to figure out how to solve them usually but I had to cheat my way through the game by watching a YouTube walkthrough video.. and even after seeing how the puzzle was solved I was still none the wiser . The puzzles are just (expletive).
There’s also too many of them , it’s overkill and I lost interest very quickly . The map is big , I’m really not a fan of tapping back and forth from one end of the map to the other continuously and no I won’t pay for the quick travel- just make a big map ,but have it so that we can’t progress further unless we have completed a section that we won’t have to return to. It’s really .....annoying !
I feel like I want a refund , it’s a very pretty game but the gameplay is shocking. Ive bought games in the past which had really bad low resolution graphics but the puzzles were top notch and the storyline superb . This didn’t do it for me at all.

Good luck solving the puzzles. you won’t. so you look at the clue. you still won’t. So then you look at a utube video (annoying) for the solution and although you now see what the answer is, you are still none the wiser as to why. Awful game which is just irritating and not fun. boring. if you’re going to design puzzle games, at least make the puzzles solvable.

Really good gameplay and neat graphics.
Could only manage without partial help and fast moving map travel, up to the point where it got complex.
Otherwise would need an exceptional memory.
Didn’t need the wizard, but loved the atmosphere.

Worth the wait!
Extremely hard and had to cheat quite a bit. However, it was very enjoyable, as are all the other games in the series. I kept finding any excuse to sit down and play a bit more! Now I’m going to play it again and see if I can do any better second time around.

A must have puzzle
I have everything these developers have done and think they are all to a very high standard.
I completed the first one of these again recently having done it a few years ago, and forgot how enjoyable it was but this has raised the bar even higher.
It is a large puzzle with lots of areas and I didn’t want it to finish but I guess all good things come to an end.
Also for 99p the fast track is a no brainer

Blackthorn castle 2
I have played all your games over the years and loved them but this one has got to be my favourite. I agree with Sumdoku. At first I thought it was going to be the same as the first blackthorn but found it opened up to a completely new challenge. Also had to buy the hints but still thoroughly enjoyed. Great graphics, fantastic length, kept me interested from start to finish. My only complaint is how long we have to wait for new games :( keep them coming please.

Really enjoyed this game. I was a bit put off at first as the scenes were so familiar but soon found that all the games were very different. Couldn’t have managed without the hint button!! The quick travel was a huge bonus.
