The Santander Business Banking app is available for you to manage your business finances. It's designed to make business banking with us fast, convenient and more secure. The app will be updated regularly with new features.
Looking to manage and make payments from your Personal accounts? Download the Santander Mobile Banking app.
Key features:
• Use Biometrics (e.g. Fingerprint) or your Security Number to quickly access your accounts.
• View and interact with your Business and Personal Current accounts, Savings accounts, and Credit cards.
• Check your balance and your transaction history for Business and Personal accounts.
• Transfer money between your accounts.
• Make a payment from your business accounts to a new or existing payee.
• Find support and useful links.
• View and set up standing orders and view Direct Debits.
• Authorise online payments securely using the app.
• Share your account details directly from the app.
Before you start:
Visit Santander online banking to check if we have your current UK mobile number. This is so we can send you One Time Passcodes. Once that’s done, it takes just a few minutes to get started with our app.
• Open the app and log on using your existing Online Banking details.
• We’ll send you a One Time Passcode (OTP) by text message.
• Enter the code into the app and we’ll register your device.
• We’ll ask if you want to set up Touch ID or Face ID to log on.
And that’s it, you’re in.

They hold my funds for over 4 days for no reason and i cant do salaries for my employees. This is unacceptable from a bank. No reason given no date of release given. Its a joke. Im looking to move.

No more email or text notifications - yet this app doesn’t have push notifications either

With the recent announcement that from
May 2025 Santander will stop all text alerts which have been on place for over 15 years we are being told that it’s easier than ever - no it’s not. This app is not fit for purpose and doesn’t even have push notifications to let you know if you go overdrawn or receive a payment.
Yon have to literally go in and check.
As a business customer, I am unable to use the standard app even on my personal accounts and have to use this but I have no way in this of transferring money to friends and family without using a browser on iPad or computer.
Santander are far too slow at developing their apps and stop services without a replacement.
So bad as an app from a major bank.

Better than it ever was but still exceptionally bad

There are so many things wrong with this app, a review is not the place. For a major bank with significant resources, you’d think they could afford to hire a UX consultant or two, and maybe the odd decent developer, but this is like a first attempt from a junior developer.

Won’t show transactions

Too long winded just to make a single payment

To make a payment what should be a 2 steps is now 5 steps.
Select customer, enter amount,
enter reason for payment,
confirm it’s not scam,
reconfirm it’s not scam.
Making a payment should be quick and easy, now my payment runs take twice as long.

Great when it works

It’s a great all. Makes the process of online banking so easy. Then it messes up.

Daily transactions

The app doesn't allow me to see attempted failed direct debits on the day they are due. If I could see the failed debits I would put extra money in my account before the final sweep of the day. This has incurred charges which could have been avoided if the app showed the transactions. Instead they send a text with absolutely no information. I have incurred hundreds of pounds in costs due to this! I have accounts with other banks but Santander is the only bank in my experience that does not show the information in the App until it's too late!

Provides the Minimum

The software provides all it needs to provide, little thought has gone into functions that a business owner would need. I would like to see an in depth report feature and better translation search options. Also the software just looks aesthetically cheaper to other software on the market.

Unable to use app now

So I opened my Santander app which worked perfectly before, said it needed an update, so I updated. Unfortunately I am unable to use the app now as I can’t view it correctly on my iPhone 8SE. It seems the screen design has been set to a bigger screen than my phone can handle. I can’t view the instructions, drop down menus overlap, I tried make a payment, but the top of the screen obscured the box you enter the amount so I was unable to proceed. I am now going to have to fire up the old desktop to my banking. Really frustrating. Please sort out!

Feels like a relic of the past

A very limited app, with not a great deal of UX built into it. Feels like it was designed in 2010 and been left that way ever since. Hard to find the things you need and the ‘Letter’ verification codes can never be copied.

Hasn’t worked for months now

Stopped working saying error AUTH_METHODS.0012. There have been a couple of updates to the app including one yesterday but it still doesn’t work. Broken (fix found)

I have now found a fix for this and putting it here to maybe help others. This issue is caused when motion reduction is enabled under accessibility in iOS settings. Re enabling motion has fixed the issue. Hope this helps.
Maybe the developer can address this in next release so it is not an issue with either setting.
Text formatting all wrong now since last update and text overlapping other text causing money input field to make payments to be no longer visible. Now having to use desktop app to pay bills and suppliers. Please resolve these problems introduced issues.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling as suggested, you have a problem clearly just look at all the other 1 star reviews mentioning the same and similar symptoms when trying to make payments. You need to address the text size or formatting as it has made the app useless for making business payments now. I have tried all the iPhone display options, bold text, font size etc but unable to make this work. At least it is not just me looking at all the other comments. Sorry you need to go back to the drawing board on this Developer.

Regularly fails me

I find the app frustrating. I regularly can’t use it to make a payment because text displays across the text box to input a person’s name, or the amount. I also think it should have greater functionality, such as being able to see scheduled payments. I’m very disappointed and keep meaning to swap banks but don’t have time for the hassle.

Shocking App

No idea why anyone is rating this app so highly. People are like sheep or they have nothing to compare it to. We waited for years for an actual dedicated app for our business accounts and it feels like an afterthought. If you compare it to other banks and apps it’s miles behind. Even banks like Tide and Starling have the basics like payment notifications, which this lacks. Not to mention its layout looks like it was made on Windows 95. It’s slow, unintuitive, lacking features and constantly having problems when making payments. I even got told by staff to uninstall and reinstall, that’s not good enough, and who has time for all that messing around anyway.

Transfer display suddenly broken

I can *still* no longer access the box to enter a transfer amount. This is transferring between accounts. Also making payments. I have to use a pc. Pointless except to check balance. Suggestion to uninstall reinstall seemed to work…once… then back to issue. This is a UX scaling bug. Fix it or revert to an older version.

All of a sudden you can’t pay people as you can’t input how much you want to pay them. It’s very frustrating. It was ok until a month ago now completely useless. It would be useful to be able to freeze and unfreeze cards and order new ones. Santander need to catch up with the others.

Frustrating!!!

So inconsistent. I have both personal and business accounts and now can’t access my personal account through the business app consistently. When I can I can’t make any actions on my personal account and have to download a separate app. Santander is going backwards instead of forwards. In a day and age when technology should be better Santander banking is becoming less and less efficient. I will change banks eventually. Not good enough!

You almost have a good app

The previous version of the app allowed you to not only see your private accounts but also make transfers payments. The new version you can only view your private accounts. I have to always get a laptop out or go to a desk top PC to make payments from my private accounts. Happy with what I can do with my business accounts. Make my private accounts and business account fully available and I’d give the app 5/5.

Glitchy

It’s almost as if this app has been designed to add even more stress to running a business. There’s a new glitch nearly every time I log in to it. It’s either a white screen, or if I get past that, I can’t transfer money between accounts because the screen isn’t loading properly. Even the addition of a ‘report a problem with the app’ button would be helpful because I sure as heck don’t have time to spend on the phone to anyone. And then there’s the fact that you get a message saying you need to transfer funds to cover items going out today but there’s no way of finding out how much. Every other bank app that I use has a ‘pending transactions’ feature. It can’t be that hard to at least match what other banks are doing. Super disappointing.

Cheque scanner very temperamental

So finally we get cheque scanning but it’s driving me mad today. I’ve tried scanning a perfectly clear cheque 10 times - every time it gets the correct amount but ‘fails to process the cheque’. Used to get the same inconsistency at the ATM in branch. I’ve taken photographs and they’re as clear and sharp as you could possibly want.

New update doesn’t work

Just updated the app - the second time recently and it seems to get worse each time!! The face recognition didn’t always work before and you would just get a blank screen.
Now it does work but takes ages over 10 secs instead of the 2 secs it used to take.
But even worse I can’t actually pay any suppliers from the app. It goes through the process and then comes up with the error message - check details etc.

A little buggy

Opening the app, nothing appears, only when reloading in does it show the details. Previously changing the reference in the app it would just show the previous value. Personal account details sometimes fail to load. Makes you wonder if these bugs exist just how good the security is around the app!!

Imrpovement but logon twice and too many prompts to make payments

Much better than the old versions of the app. However I am forced to use FaceID twice to sign in. And when making payments, even to regular, already added payees I’m prompted what it’s for, and whether I’m sure it’s not a scam! If it’s a regular payee with same bank details, how could it be!!?

Not the best

Not the best app in comparison to other banking apps. Outdated look and functionality doesn’t flow but it’s better than what’s it’s been over the years. However, the facial recognition never works: you either get a blank screen and have to close and open again (and cross your fingers) or you are prompted to put in your pin to open app. Constant app updates but guess that’s due to it being in its infancy. For a bank that you pay monthly for it’s not reflected in the app.

Your business app is extremely good and I have never had any problems. However, I have had a personal account with you and ever since they have updated the app. I’ve been locked out more than five times in the past few months and unfortunately I have just had enough and cancelled my account and moved first direct. Does not work anymore

App used to be ok, but now full of bugs. When you login there is nothing but a white screen so you have to shut the app and open it immediately after to see your account.
Also cannot access personal accounts through the app anymore, when you try you are redirected to the personal banking app on the App Store.

Blank screen

Once face is is cleared it goes to a blank screen so I have to swipe the app away and click on it again. It then opens on to my account. Not always done this but is now a regular thing.

Average Banking App

Despite using wanting to use faceid, it first requests passcode by default and you have to go back to faceid. What’s the point? Still can’t scan in cheques using your phone like you can for personal accounts. Why is this??
Often have to refresh app as I get a blank white screen when logging in.

I preferred the old app

I like that I can still make payments to my list of payees but It’s a shame the app has changed and doesn’t allow me to see my business and personal accounts all in one place. Also, I can no longer view my credit card statements.

Glitches

The content and navigation is great. However the app doesn’t open properly on first attempt. Shows a blank page. Once closed and re opened it again information appears. It’s just a little annoying

Ok, but…

The app is generally good but when using Face ID on an iPhone, after the choice to use either face ID or my 5 digit number, if I pick Face ID, I’m confronted with a blank white screen which doesn’t go away so have to log on again choosing to use the number instead. The app does this most of the time when I try to log on.
Also on the personal banking version of this app where has quick balance gone? It was really useful and I miss it.

Slightly frustrating

Overall the App works ok, the bill payments are easier on the App than on the site as you can easily search for a payee. Not being able to pay personal bills from the business App, when you can see balances, is a pain.

Access

It would be handy to be able to use facial recognition when paying things like credit cards. It always asks for your id and you don’t always remember it.
It would also be very helpful if you could use your personal Santander banking properly in the business banking app.

I load this app a lot for work and most of the time all I see a blank white screen, I can’t down load statements straight from the app, I have to go through my personal account and go through 2 accounts worth of statements to find the ones I need in regards to work, I had to go into the bank to find out how to down load them and they didn’t actually know how to do it themselves, the lady had to mess on my phone to figure out what to do herself, the cost of this account is going up to £7.50 now I’ve almost been using it for 12 months for work and it is not worth that much when you can’t use it efficiently for your business! Considering changing banks.

Can’t search for payments out or in by customer/ business name

For years I have been contacting Santander as it is impossible even in the advanced search to pull up a chronological list of payment either make to a payee or in from a client / customer / or company by searching for transactions using the name of the payee. This makes finding if a payee has missed a payment or missed a scheduled payment impossible. The payments maybe of different values each month so searching via amount is pointless and brings up a cluttered list including any payment from any other payee!!!!! This drives me bonkers and wastes hours of admin searching manually through transactions CAN SOMEONE PULL THEIR FINGER OUT AND SORT THIS !!!!!!!!

Hit and miss

This app is a disappointment compared to the previous app. Sometimes it allows me to view my personal account, other times it doesn’t. Either way I can’t action anything on my personal account via this app and on occasions I can’t even transfer money from my business account to my personal account
Additionally even for the business accounts it’s long winded to make a transaction and often I think I’ve made an action that hasn’t actually occurred. Santander insist you must have this app to approve new transactions otherwise I wouldn’t bother with this p.o.s

Vast improvement

This revised App is so much better than the previous one. At long last we have fingerprint recognition to open the App, payee search and the ability to change the payment reference. Bravo.I can’t wait for the ability to pay in cheques using the app which I believe is imminent.

Lack of contact details

I am away sailing, I have internet but not phone. There is no way of contacting you. Your customer verification team are trying to contact me by letter and text, however the phone number given cannot be called from abroad and the text number will not take a return message. There needs to be an email address available for contact

Santander Business App is Just Alright

Overall is okay however
1. Software is a bit flaky and often presents a blank screen when first logging in
2. When doing payments from the App the "Reference Field " does not properly update any new text you enter even though it's displayed: IE: When the transaction processes the statement reflects old data, not what you typed in at tv's time of a new transaction. Hence I do nearly all my payments through the Web interface

Needs improvement

It’s disappointing that it doesn’t work in real time, ie when money is transferred/paid out of an account it doesn’t show untill you log in again, also not being able to use your personal account for payments, even though it is linked to the other accounts, is another disappointment.

Multiple accounts

I have multiple business and a personal account. The previous ap worked far better for this scenario. I now can’t make any payments from my personal account on the ap at all. I have to log onto a desktop. This makes it an infuriating situation especially away from the office. It’s impossible to search transactions by name. The statements are impossible to read online as they are far too small. Overall it’s a bit or an archaic system.

Much improved app but still work needed

The app has much improved over recent years, but still needs work. For example the app won’t allow you to send a payment with an & sign in the reference. Well if your business name has an & sign in the name then you have to process payments via the website. Come on Santander, this is an easy fix!!!

New Version is quite good

Finally new version that actually enables business users to make payments through app. Big improvement that come just in time - I was planning to change bank for both by companies because of old app. Well done Santander !

Proof the user has not been taken into account

The App has issues that it does not do things you need & finding what you are looking for is next too impossible. The people who make these and set them up are so familiar with it that their view is not a users view & the users find them very poor . Yes let’s admit it’s semi useless & comes with no natural guidance or practicality - nothing comes easy so why not use a variety of focus groups to check & use as the issue is its Geek led not user led -Try finding some one you have paid & all the payments to that account? No not possible that rudimentary necessity is not possible- This is one of so many errors it’s amazing it even works !

Excellent banking App

This is such a good app, able to do most of my daily banking, easy to move money between accounts, pay bills, set up new payments, etc. Sometimes have to log out and back in again to refresh balances and occasionally get caught out when I don’t add the zeros for pence. All round a great app.

Awful

It’s so bad I’m thinking of changing to a different company to get away from it. The desktop banking site is just as bad as this app as well. Why the hell do I have to open the app the authorise logging in on desktop. Then to top everything off still can’t pay in cheques on the app.

It’s still so bad. Who ever made this needs binning off. Needs redesigning, it’s very frustrating to use, just copy any other bank apps and it’ll be fine.

Improved

The mobile app has improved greatly in the past few months. It’s now easier to use this this than desktop. I do wish you’d let us search for payments by payee name tho

😡

The face recognition log in does not work it keeps freezing since I have installed on the new phone . I have tried uninstalling it works for a day then again same problem. I have called customer service they could not resolve this problem. I had no problem with my previous phone . It is really frustrating and time consuming uninstalling and installing.

Transfer between accounts

This app has been great but in the last few weeks the ‘Transfer’ option has been greyed out. I am no longer able to transfer to any of my other Santander accounts using this app.

Much improved but room for improvement

The face recognition login is a massive improvement as it was very tedious before.
Something I noticed when I crept into the red was that it showed the negative amount as available ie missing a minus so this certainly needs fixing. A step in the right direction and for every day checking your balance or making a payment it’s really good. Would advise those needing to do more advanced things to use a web browser

Still can’t pay cheques in?

The previous reviewer is right, Every other bank seems to be able to accept a photo taken of a cheque via an App. Add this feature please!
Also, It would be handy if you could let me accept a card payment through the app.
3 stars for a pretty basic app from one of the biggest banks in the world that really has the resources to give us something amazing.
