When you use our smart body scales measuring body composition , weight, percentage of body fat , fat weight, height, body mass index (BMI), height and resting calorie consumption data will be synchronized to HealthKit in.

How to connect to Apple Health:

1. After install the Renpho Health App and log in successfully for the first time, a pop-up will prompt to ask whether to allow Renpho Health to access all your health data, please tap Allow in the upper right corner;

2. Open Apple Health, enter your profile, tap Apps> Renpho Health, tap Turn All Categories On;

3. After authorization, your Body Fat Percentage, Body Mass Index, and Lean Body Mass will be synchronized to Apple Health.

Unacceptable

Since they tried to update the app, it’s appalling. You can’t even connect your skills with the app. You have to be taken to the online which doesn’t sync in with your other apps for your weight absolutely appalling second scale that I’m sending back.

Too Intrusive

I don’t want this app to do calorie tracking. I only want it recording what the scales can measure. Splatting a huge calorie thing on the dashboard that cannot be removed is really annoying. I’ve turned off all the other rubbish it has been polluting the Health app with.

Terrible

This app is awful now, they are trying to make it an all in one app and they’re getting it SO wrong.

They’ve added a calorie tracking section on the home page which is telling me I should be consuming 500 calories each day. This is SO DANGEROUS!! It also can’t be removed or hidden, the fact that this has been approved and the company think this feature works just shows what an absolute joke they are.

The weight and fat tracking tiles on the home screen also tell me that I’m “maintaining” which is crazy because I’ve lost 3 stone in the last 5 months I’ve been using the app.

I can’t imagine the damage this app could do to more impressional users. I honestly don’t think there’s a single brain cell between the developers.

Save yourself some money - buy a basic set of scales and a notebook, it’d work a lot better than this mess.

App no longer functional

Both my friend and I have the same iPhone 17, with the same iOS version, and the same scales. The app works with his phone and scales, but doesn’t work on my phone and my scales, yet the developers state it’s a problem with Apple and the iPhone 17. Clearly this is untrue and they’re just too lazy to fix their buggy app.

Update: developer replied to my review, and again blamed the iPhone 17, disregarding everything I said about it working on my friends iPhone 17. Clearly they are not going to bother fixing their garbage app.

i’ve used the renpho app for a number of years now and love the functions and info. As soon as i upgraded to iphone 17 it no longer connects to the app. I have updated the app, taken the batteries out, turned the phone off and on, turned bluetooth on and off and still no joy. 2 stars because the scales work but not connecting. please update and fix this issue!! 🙏

Can’t press ‘continue’ on add name screen

I downloaded the app and it asks you to log in. I logged in with my email address and accepted location permissions. It then goes on to ask what name you’d like to be called, I put my name it and the ‘continue button’ won’t work. I can’t register and I have to use a guest account.

I’ve tried reinstalling, restarting my phone, offloading the app and everything in between but nothing!

Horrible

The app is very disappointing. I just completed a 14-minute jump session, but it didn’t register properly. Instead, it added the time incorrectly to the 3-day total, the same issue I had yesterday. It’s frustrating when the main function doesn’t work as expected. It might be okay since it’s free, but overall I’m disappointed and definitely would not recommend it.

Goal setting is a let down

I started my weight loss journey (again) but the app doesn’t allow you to change the date when you started. So the progress was showing from a couple months ago when I started my previous goal and not from last month when I started again. I wanted to change the date to show accurate progress so I followed some suggestions on the work around to show progress with manual entry etc, but this just reset my goal to 0 and set the date to today. So now I have completely lost all of my progress data and have to manually calculate my progress. It is very frustrating and defeats the whole purpose of getting the scale and the app. They said the date entry issue would be fixed soon but that was over a year ago, how long does it take to update the app? There are so many forums and unhappy people out there experiencing the same issue. It’s just so very disappointing when you’re struggling and checking accurate progress is the only motivator that you have.

Bluetooth unreliable FIX HERE

After trying a few different processes to get the Bluetooth connection to work I have worked out how to get it to work reliably:

1. Make sure the app isn’t running or backgrounded

2. Step on the scales so they come on and start measuring - give it a couple of seconds

3. Start the app and don’t touch anything on screen

4. After a few seconds a measuring sheet slides up from the bottom of the screen and successfully logs all the data

I hope this helps some of the frustrated users struggling with their scales.

Off Trends.

I think this app works well, but sometimes when I’ve either lost or gained weight, the trends don’t reflect that saying nothing has changed, when in fact I’ve gained a few pounds. If that stay is noticeably off, then I’m there are others that are off too. So, I don’t fully trust the data, but it’s good to have a rough idea of what’s going on.

There’s a bug on ios18

This app used to be great.

I have the body scales and the food scales, both of which I really like and use daily.

However months ago the app started to become buggy and it would never load. Using the food scale’s smart functions became impossible and now even using and review your weight progress is a complete pain!

When you open the app you can see most of it minus the data (so you can see your dashboard being empty waiting to populate).

You can wait even 2 hours and it just never populates.

You can press on anything within the app and it just doesn’t respond.

Force shutting and reopening does nothing as it stays the same.

The only way I can prompt it is by opening the app and weighing my self on the scale, it then brings up your weight and measurements page but you often won’t be able to scroll down to see the last row or if you’re able to click on something (say goal or one of the measurements you won’t be able to go back). It’s so frustrating as it’s a fantastic app with good devices.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sort it out. 😥

I’m not happy with the update. You used to be able to change the start weight on your goals now you can’t. I didn’t set a goal until I knew how to use the app properly and now it doesn’t show a true representation of how much I’ve lost. Please change this!

Great smart scale

I bought the scale and used the app, it gave me a clear dashboard about my weight and all those 13 aspects of my body/ health. It reminds me to be healthier. So I bought 2 more scales for my family and they all find it really helpful. The app is great, you can do measurements for all your family members and keep track of their health.

Generally good app

App works well with scales and provides lots of useful information, some more useful than others. However some of the calculations don’t appear to add up. For example, my original weight was 12 stone 2 lbs. I now weigh 12 stone 1 lbs but the app says I have lost 1 stone (not sure where the other 1lb has gone). Also the body fat Percentage % goal makes no sense at all! If these issues are address it would be a great app.

Good app

App works great with the scales. Some features take a bit of getting used to to access as they are not in a place you would expect to access them. The WiFi scales work great with the app I don’t need to have my phone with me to weigh myself, the details go to the app regardless. One great thing about Renpho scales is that if you step on and off the scales your weight remains the same. A lot of other scales if you step on and off, automatically lower your weight and show a different weight every time. Renpho has been great.

Dark mode absolutely necessary

The app is okay but what really makes it annoying to use is lack of dark more.

I step on the scale first thing when I wake up around 6AM for consistency. Opening this app when you’re just waking u is like getting blasted by the light of a thousand nuclear explosions where every other app at this day and age has a dark more. Please implement this as it’s not just a visual aesthetic choice but also an accessibility feature.

Nutrition Scales let it down

I went all in and purchased body scales, nutrition scales and tape measure. Whilst the body scales and tape measure work well the nutrition side is utterly useless.

Doesn’t recognise a single barcode and barely any food in the database when searching which means I’ve basically paid over the odds for regular scales that I already had and back to using my fitness pal to calorie count instead of it all being in one place like I’d hoped.

They did come back to me with suggestions but it didn’t match what I was seeing at all and I can’t get through to the hotline.

Blood pressure feature doesn’t work

I had high hopes for the BP feature after using the scales for years. It worked for a few days and then nothing. No data transferring and the app crashes whenever I try to click on the BP device or view past BP data. I’ve tried disconnecting the device but still an issue

Results not all from scale but app

The app connects easily and shows the results clearly. You can add multiple users and switch between them. I am however disappointed with one aspect of it. The app shows you a variety of results apparently from the scale readings. However, there must be an algorithm in there that changes the result depending on age. For instance, I am a 67 year old woman, the app says my subcutaneous fat is high (my BMI is 20.2) As it seemed high, I made a new account but put my age as 37 - my subcutaneous fat was then 5% lower and my muscle mass higher. So the app seems to be “guessing” based on age, rather than on the biometrics from the scale.

Zero Privacy

The application is great in terms of monitoring your weight, exercise and even nutrition/calories. It’s simple, easy to use and I haven’t had any bugs. However, there is a community tab built into the app where people post progress photos, before and after, etc. It’s like Facebook but for people with fitness goals. You are forced into this. There is no privacy settings regarding the community and nor can you remove the community tab. I’m also sure that it isn’t moderated. Would be 5 stars if you add some privacy settings.

App not connecting to scale

I’ve used this app and the corresponding scale religiously since 2020. I updated the app last week per the incessant suggestions and now I’m having issues getting the scale to connect to the app. I’ve had this app for almost 5 years and I’ve never had a connectivity issue - this is the first time and it’s as soon as the app is updated 🙄

I’ve tried all the suggestions to make it work AND even spoken to the ai bot thing. This is super disappointing, I’ll wait another week but if the issues persist - i’ll have to take my data and go elsewhere.

Getting worse with every update

I used to appreciate the scale and app before the app change. Since then, it has become a growing mess; it feels like you are trying to be something you are not.

Previously, using the scale was straightforward: I would step on, and instantly see colour-marked results in the app, with trends and history just a tap or swipe away. It was perfectly simple and effective. Now, even opening the scale requires a thousand additional taps, and the results display is far less intuitive—making it very frustrating to use. Additionally, I’m puzzled as to why there is a need for a community feature around a scale.

If this is truly the direction you’re heading, please consider showing some mercy to your existing user base by making the old app, or a simplified version of it, available.

Was a perfectly fine weight tracking app until the recent update. Now a bloated mess that rarely connects to the scales first time and has had its simple interface turned into a giant button phone for the elderly. Also resets your progress from the previous app, which they have left on the store but tells you to get the new app if you try and log in. Truly moronic stuff all round.

Awful upgrade

The app forced an update through and I have lost all my weight loss data from the last 4 months with no way of retrieving it ! Can't alter the start date to compare. The interface is not easy to navigate and just doesn't look as user friendly! I wish I could simply go back to the old version! Trends doesn't show for measurements

Forced to use new app after purchasing new scales

I’ve always been a Renpho fan so when I needed a set of travel scales I went straight for Renpho to match my home ones. Wish I hadn’t now as this forced me to use this new app instead of the “outdated” one which was much more user friendly. The travel scales say I’m 0.6lb heavier which I can live with , but this new app is AWFUL. Wish I could go back to the old one. Loved having all my targets visible on the “front page”

Lost my start date.

App asked me to update. I clicked out of it as it warmed me about losing progress.

When I opened the app, it had already updated and now my start date from nearly 3 months ago has gone. The app only remembers my progress from yesterday.

Deleted old app and all data

Warning this deletes old app and all your data. I had 6 family members on the original “out of date” Renpho version but couldn’t view any scale view showing how our weights went up over the last few years. So installing this has deleted the old Renpho app automatically and didn’t transfer any data from the old app to the new one.

Why does everything have to be one star or above why can’t the internet allow us to give zero stars or below which is where I would place this app. Then maybe companies may see how useless their products are.

Worse than old app

The UI is more clunky and requires more clicks to get to the info that you need. Can no longer view trends in the same way as the old version nor is it easy or intuitive to find the entirety of your current measurements (when clicking on your current measurement in the old you could see every measurement from BMI, body fat etc all on one screen without needing to scroll anywhere). The app is not good compared to before

UI is terrible…

I’ve reverted to the older Renpho app (called “Outdated”) because it’s much easier to use. The user interface on the new Renpho Health app is confusing and not at all intuitive, no matter how much the designers may argue it is when showing the concepts to management. It’s awful… and I’m an ex-designer who is very used to finding my way around apps. What is terrible is that the Home Screen no longer shows your weight and associated measurements - where these are in the new app is anyone’s guess. As I said, the new app needs better design and better testing. Just awful.

Easy to use and amazing simple data

This is the best app I got for a product. It’s easy to use and the data is displayed visually and in an extremely simple way. The scale works perfectly too and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Only good words

These scales really help me in my weight loss journey. I was with Slimming World but decided I no longer agreed with their ‘syn’ system and wanted to try Calorie Counting via Nutracheck, I got these scales and they’re a real game changer - I still feel like someone else is weighing me (which is what I need) as it uploads automatically to the Nutracheck / Health apps - no entering your own weight! I find myself excited to weigh rather than dreading the scales as it’s changed my whole mindset on weight etc. I really reccomend these scales! Fantastic thanks!

Great app

App works great, lots of health information available, more than I was expecting actually (interesting to find out that I have high subcutaneous fat and low visceral fat, assuming the data is accurate!). Setup for both Bluetooth and WiFi connection was easy (I’m using Elis Aspire, i.e. the model with WiFi). Sync to Apple Health is working seamlessly for me.

App has nice graphs to keep track of trends, and I like the ability to set goals with a timescale and to track progress on that goal over time. I am feeling more disciplined on my diet and exercise routine now that I have more visibility of it and something to aim for.

Comparison screen

Great app, but it would be even better if you could pick the two dates you want to compare on the comparison screen rather than it just displaying the default last reading and now.

Not the easiest app to navigate!

I’ve been trying to delete all data and start again but am unable to find a way to do it! Googling it says go ‘to trends’ but I can’t find that!!!

The metabolic age is also way out as confirmed by two friends who have the same scales. We’re all very fit and have used Boditrax for years which gives us all a metabolic age way below real age. But the scales/app have us all way above our real age!

For the most part brilliant

For the most part it works perfectly and I really quite like it. The only issue I have with it is that when I am using it to sync with the activity app, it uploads the minutes as seconds. So for example if I was to do 5 minutes, it uploads as 5 seconds to the activity app on my phone. Which although it’s not the end of the word, it messes up statics with the health and activity app and kind of defeats the point.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 data sharing issue

This app and the associated scales are usually easy to use. However I have encountered an issue while taking weight measurements in the Apple Watch app, when taking a measurement the data does not sync to apple health. It remains recorded locally in the renpho health Apple Watch app, and in the iPhone renpho health app, but will not show via apple health. When taking a measurement using an iPhone the data syncs immediately with apple health. It would be great if I could only use my watch when recording health.

App won’t pair Renpho body scale with iPhone 11

Just purchased the Renpho body scales, downloaded the app but I can’t pair the scales to my iPhone because when I go into the Renpho app settings on my iPhone it does not display nor give me the option to request Bluetooth permission (all it displays is Siri and notifications options). I have deleted and re-downloaded the app numerous times as well as restarting my iPhone. How can I pair/synch my scales via the app to my iPhone when it does not show the Bluetooth permissions option?!

App is good, but get rid of the topless mirror photos!!!

App works well and connects easily and easy to add a second user. All the data I wanted is there.

The massive downside is the community feed. If you click on this by accident all you see are topless mirror selfies posted by random people under the title ‘Hot’!! I mean what on earth are you thinking with this. Seems no easy way to turn it off or hide it (if there is a way I haven’t found it). Needs to change asap. I have no interest in being part of a community on the app I just want to track my body analysis. Surely that’s not much to ask?
