I got this game thinking it was a reupload of the original, but I was wrong. There are less levels, the UI is entirely different, there aren’t power ups, gems, coins, stars, etc. Those aren’t too big, but the worst thing is the physics. This has been made in a newer engine, however the least you could do was keep the physics. Block are harder to break. I used to be able to go through entire wooden structures with chuck, now I can only go a few blocks deep. Just update the game to be more like the final update before the original was taken down (8.0.3). A fairly faithful recreation, but it’s missing many features that made the original so good. I got a reuploaded APK of 8.0.3 and lemme tell you, it’s way better than this.

Ok Rovio, gave you a second chance here, and so far so good, this is just like the Angry Birds I purchased over a decade ago with no persistent ads and annoying ploys for in-app purchases. These got so annoying in the original Angry Birds that I actually deleted the app some years ago - and whilst it’s slightly galling that I now have to pay 89p for the pleasure to remove ads and IAPs from an app I paid 59/69p for a decade ago (sure you’re making enough 💰💰💰 to have been able to update and republish the original app), it was somewhat refreshing and, as odd as it seems to use this word in the context of an app review, nostalgic to buy a sub-£1 app, launch it and jump straight into gameplay - took me right back to the early days on my iPhone 4! I also found this a sad reminder of where gaming apps have come; I barely game on my iOS devices now thanks to companies insistance on the free to play strategy, much rather spend more on a Nintendo Switch game and play for as long as I want, not for as long as a developer lets me until they want me to shell out to continue playing or, god forbid, watch a 30 second ad to continue for 5 minutes - it’s an abhorrent business practice, but sadly one which will never end - therefore as long as this Angry Birds app remains as is, and doesn’t slowly befall the same fate as its original predecessor, this one shall remain a mainstay on my iPhone as the original once did. If, like me, you got fed up and deleted the original Angry Birds, and fancy revisiting, then go for it! It’s been fun flinging birds once again without any bothersome additions.

Although this is a "Faitful" re-make of the "Original, it is not the "Original" game.

The first thing you will notice is that the camera is zoomed out so far to the point where it shows the entire level. It is impossible to zoom in any closer than that.

Makes it really hard to move the camera around without pulling the slingshot accidentally every time.

Needless to say, the close-up look of the classic, where the camera tracks the birds flight, is gone.

The victory song, after completing the level, is that of the ad infested version. For better or worse, to me anyway, it is not the classic and should not be in a version that advertises itself as such.

You will also find an ad for Angry Birds 2 in the pause menu.

hi so I don’t complain about many things but there is this one thing about the game that bugged me.

I have photosensitive seizure meaning I cannot be exposed to flashing lights and there is a level in the game where there are flashing lights and unfortunately I suffered quite a few seizures from being exposed to the flash.

I would really really appreciate it if you put a flash warning for levels that might contain flash and put an option where you can skip that level so photosensitive people don’t have to suffer

The game play on my iPhone 12 Max Pro is not great. It often takes more than one touch to activate a bird and sometimes 3 or 4 making the game play slow and annoying.

Overall it’s rather pointless and Rovio may as well have just started selling the old game (s). It works much better than this and now I see the Ads have started. Next they’ll be selling power ups. I’ll stick with my originals.

Please make some new games sold this way, and please also give the Rovio Classics treatment to Amazing Alex and Angry Birds Space! Why not also make a Nintendo Switch version of Angry Birds Trilogy? (But with Space replacing Rio)

OK, first of all this is a great game. In fact, I bought this exact game back in 2009. Then they completely ruined it by adding IAP and junk. Now, in 2022, they release the exact same game I bought before, remove everything they added which ruined it, but happily charge me again.

Why not just fix the existing game? Oh, because you can’t charge again. It’s just annoying, I bought it, they ruined it, they fix it, they charge again!

Really please to have the original Angry Birds back.

It’s perfect as it is. I felt the power ups spoilt the original; part of the fun/skill was finding that perfect angle or exact moment to use a special ability to win the level.

I am a little surprised I’m paying for it again, but in total, including the original purchase, it’s still a good price for hours of enjoyment.

The game is absolutely phenomenal overall! I love all the old sounds in which they added which they removed from their previous version of angry birds from the little details, e.g. the pigs smiling when no birds are left, to the bigger details, e.g. getting the models of the pigs right as well. There’s probably a bunch of other things I could list as well; the review would be too long. However: the three blue little birds, when they split, they make the same noise as the white bird would usually do, and the white bird now makes a ‘click’ noise when pressed. Is this deliberate? The birds sometimes awkwardly fit into the slingshot which can look weird at times. Other than these two minor issues, I think this game is great and definitely is worth buying if you want the ultimate nostalgia experience!

i love this game so much and played all the games when i was younger and bought telepods i was so devastated to see all of them go off the appstore now that this is out am buzzed and hopefully you add my old favourites: Angry Birds Star Wars 1&2 and Angry Birds Go! because i spent quite a lot of money in telepods and i can’t use them anymore.

Rovio, you have done something I thought you would never do! You’ve brought back the original angry birds with 2012 graphics and all! All though it’s a bit upsetting that you only kept all episodes from poached eggs to surf and turf. It’s a shame I can’t play Piggy farm, jurassic Pork, bad piggies or even Reds mighty feathers. :( I hope you will add them back into the games in later updates but for now this is a nice remake of the mobile game king! 🐥🐷👑👑👑

This remake is amazing and very entertaining, I am so glad Rovio returned to their roots and made a classic angry birds game 😀

I noticed a few minor bugs but nothing that ruined the experience and I assume they will be fixed in patches anyway, Thank you Rovio!

Seriously. People are complaining about it being less than a pound. You get Mighty Eagle, no ads and a classic version of Angry Birds just remastered with a change in font, some menus and sound quality. That’s all I have to say.

The advertisements for other Rovio games in the pause menu stay on the screen when the pause menu is closed which means that it covers over the gameplay and all of the menus. Please fix this as it makes the game difficult to play

I have played this game since i was 4 and when i heard Rovio had re-releasded CLASSIC ANGRY BIRDS I knew i had to get it only downside is u have to pay but i guess it has to be fair. Thank you. Now just have to wait for star wars and angry birds go!
