Not yet there and has many issues

Image preview is very poor when zooming in to any image, if building preview at 100% then it defeats the entire purpose of previews since that will be done for all images. When I look at single images, there is no reason why it shows me only previews. When I then attempt to download the full photo, the download sticks at 100% and never completes. No error message either. Had high hopes but looking unlikely to replace my cloud photos anytime soon…….

So relieved!

I recently switched from cloud to a NAS. Freedom from locked in cloud providers and monthly fees. I found the Synology Photos app pretty poor but this is amazing! Ticks every box, well done everyone, I will be turning this into a purchase.

Amazing app, very active development

Absolutely brilliant open-source app. Yes it has it has it’s minor hiccups but nobody should be complaining, it’s developing at an amazing fast pace and already becoming a replacement for me of Google Photos and Synology Photos. Just looking forward to better family sharing (facial recognition), but that’s already on the Roadmap! Thank you devs for all the insane work you’re doing!

Best app I have

Have been using this since 2023 as my sole app for managing and backing up photos. It’s fantastic and improved so much since then. Combines best features of Apple and Google, with zero worry about subscriptions. The machine learning search is also extremely powerful. Not as good as Apple (unsurprisingly) but firmly in the good enough category and getting better all the time.

Hands up, because I already have office 365 I back up my Immich server to one drive too, as peace of mind in case Immich breaks. Yes I could just use the one drive app to back up, but again Immich is far superior.

Kudos to the Immich team! The only issue I’ve had since updating to v2.0.1 (from 1.142 or something) is I can’t download Live Photos back to the iPhone. Sure it’ll be fixed!

Bye bye iCloud

Took a bit of time to set up my server, but the reward is freedom. My partner and I no longer have to pay for cloud services and instead can self host. I have had minimal problems with the app. Only problems I can recall are with initially backing up where it would download the image from iCloud. But now it’s seemless. Great job all around.

Not good enough

I had high hopes of this to replace Synology photos but it’s just frustrating in that it keeps reuploaded images that have been deleted from the server. For the love of god give us the option to upload only new images. It’s a simple case of setting a date and time and then only uploading images taken after that time. When an upload completes the date and time is updated.

Awesome Image Backup Tool

For FOSS this is fantastic. They have there bugs sometimes but every release is getting better and better. The app is pretty polished in general and keeps improving.

Hope there may be a way in the future to have it monitor and remove photos and videos from the phone once an image is backed up. Maybe only when space is low etc.

Just became a supporter for this and recommend others do so we can keep this project progressing.

Still glitchy but good enough

Please add option want up space just like in Google photos that when used delete photos that are already backed up to the server from the device. on the server side is it not possible to make .exe that makes simple VM that can use folder for storage so more people can use it.

Incredible, almost perfect

An excellent replacement for Google Photos or iPhoto. My wish list is HDR photos, media tagging and just making the library smoother when scrolling. Sometimes I select photos when I don’t mean to, but that’s about it for negatives!

Amazing App!!! But…

I love this picture and video app it’s amazing!!! On PC is soo good you can whatch also 360 video and picture. Unfortunately the phone app doesn’t support the 360 feature for now. Another thing also about the PC/APP version that I love, it is the possibility to share album with family and friends, but would be nice to select only specific photos in some specific album to share ( maybe you don’t want to share some specific pictures with friend of family in a specific album, but at the moment you can only share the full album with all the pictures visible. When the 360 feature on the App for video and pictures and the personalisation of the share album will be integrated for sure I will give 5 stars !!

Excellent product in concept but need more stability

The app and server products are great however I have noticed an issue with iOS app where it’s crashing on opening the app. Just going through library and scrolling down crashes the app. Wish there was something to report.

Deletion Issue

If I could give 0 stars I would.

Why would this app think it’s important enough to have permission to delete photos from your device instead of just the app itself?

Deleting from phone and my local server.

Until this app realises it isn’t important enough to have that kind of privilege it will remain off my network.

Fix this level of permission!

Let down

Using Immich on my PC and no problems so was looking forward to using this iOS app but for me just crashes all the time. Just hope there is enough developers to sort

Finally

This is exactly what I’ve been after for ages. Mobile first, fast viewing of photos. Considering how new this is, it is very good. So much so that I decided to contribute via GitHub. I encourage anyone else to do the same if they can.
