Great game but I’ve lost save progress!

Was really enjoying the game so I tried to sign in on my iPhone when I was away from my iPad where my main usage was. I had both the iPad game and the iPhone game connected to Facebook and my apple account but when I went on my phone I’d lost like 2 days of progress! Tried to go back on my iPad but it had done the same :( don’t know how to fix this but I’ve lost a lot of progress now including money I spent on gems!

Nightmare to complete

Love the look of this game however it costs so much energy to clear things I have to rely on snacks for the vending machines just to clear 1 thing now. Very frustrating you can only play for a couple of minutes before running out of energy or resources. Need more ‘back of the couch’ mini games to top up resources. Would be amazing and get 5 stars if this was the case.

Painfully slow to play free

This is the same as other games with a similar format in that you have to use energy points to “mine” resources for the completion of tasks. Unless you constantly pay for more points.

However, unlike many of the other games the energy points required to mine resource objects is pretty high for the most part and the energy replenishment rate (without paying for more) is extremely slow, and only appears to reach 50 points maximum without using gems, watching occasional ads or mining resources to produce more energy points. To mine the resources to make products that can give you more energy it requires 70-120 energy points to begin with for a measly pay out of 50 energy AFTER waiting the 10+ minutes for said product to complete production. Occasionally you can get extra energy from completing food orders but that doesn’t happen very often, the rewards for that predominantly seem to be EXP points and coins. There is a mini game that gives you energy point rewards but again this is set to a timer and takes 2-3 plays to complete each mini task. Having Gary follow you around gives you the occasional 5-10 energy points but very infrequently. Every larger object that requires mining to complete tasks is 60-100 energy points and considering I am only managing to gain around 250 points per day it is a slow slug to get through each task.

The EXP points required to level up are also much higher than other similar games and take a long time to fill. For example, another game I played recently took no more than a day of periodic play to reach level 10. This game has taken me a week to reach level 10, with the EXP between each level increasing significantly.

Lastly, the buttons to tap when selecting objects you want to mine overlap far too much and I am frequently finding I have ended up mining the unintended object. Thus wasting points on something I didn’t need and having to wait hours/until the next day to continue.

The only redeeming factor of this game is that there are no ads unless you specifically choose to watch them to gain free points/gems. Otherwise this game is frustratingly slow to play through if you don’t want to spend stupid amounts of money for low levels of additional points and gems that deplete extremely fast. It definitely feels like a cash grabbing game, I would honestly prefer it if I had to constantly watch ads if it meant I could progress quicker without paying.

Such slow gameplay

I’ve played games like this before and they do usually slow down, but not as quick as this one! It’s at the point where I can only clear one or two objects at a time before having to leave the game and come back in a few hours.

Such a shame, because this seemed like good fun at the beginning and I like the idea of it, but it just needs to either give out a lot more energy, or reduce the energy costing massively!

Amazing

I love how you can’t be plastered to this game for hours on end as when you’re energy runs out, you just have to wait.

I wish there was an editing option for landscape where it’s possible to put all your buildings in a folder and start off with an empty land. It’s hard on iphone to reorganise your town.

Very fun game, especially with weekly challenges.

The fact you need so so much energy every time you unlock a new location keeps your game going longer. I don’t see that as a minus. :) xx

Enjoy but energy ruins it

As everyone else is saying - energy is the biggest factor in this game , I do enjoy it and it is a great concept of game but the energy is a problem just for it to be recharged only to 50…? Really. It takes to remove coral 30 of energy … that only one ? … and then wait again an hour ? 🥲🥲🥲 very very bad . Should be atleast 300 to do something nice and complete the tasks . I understand there is different ways to gain energy but when you don’t have these snacks or enough stuff to complete tasks / events ? You are just stuck with 50 for a while … atleast a week to do something . Please fix it , add more recharge energy or easier way to gain it back as it taking away the joy to play it .

Impossible to make any progress in the game

Due to small tasks taking a lot of energy, you cannot play this game for long periods of time before the energy runs out. I am deleting the app as it is quite a boring game where you cannot really progress.

Meh

The game is fun for the first few levels.

However, with only 50 energy you can’t do a lot as most things takes 45 OR MORE to remove and the you have to wait an hour to do anything else.

The machines which convert snacks in to embers were useful but again past the first few levels you run out of snacks and it becomes obsolete.

I enjoy the game but the energy is a real issue and makes me not want to play

Coins or something should be able buy energy.

Messed up massively on the amount of energy needed to remove one item, I’d say an average is 40-70 to remove it so you do 1/2 actions then log back out, takes what 30 seconds to do this? It’s safe to say I’ve now deleted it as it’s not enjoyable logging in and out so often, the loading screen takes longer to pass than a quick mission tap. There’s no mini games as such and the shop quests uses your mission energy so you’d progress even slower it’s clearly aimed at kids just buying the gems for quick energy to enjoy this game. Good graphics but they should have made it like a sim city builder of bikini bottom.

Lost in couch is so glitchy

It’s actually unplayable. Every task is uncompleteable because both gum walls and the milk bridge when clicked on just send me to screens to complete builds back in bikini bottom. Went back into B.B. to see if completing the builds would get the couch tasks to show up but it’s not. Can’t build houses, can’t play lost in couch.

My review

I just want to express this is my childhood in a game, Thankyou for bringing back a bit of nostalgia and inner child joy. The way the game is designed is brilliantly creative, personalised to the player and the individual episodes + creating your own version of bikini bottom.

Little twelve year old me simply wouldn’t believe her eyes 😂.

I still have the series and movies as my comfort shows time from time, never fails to cheer me up and make me smile again, whatever it is.

I like it but..

Slow game with potential.

For me it good be a great game but the energy ratio isn’t right. It takes a hour to just regain enough energy to clear one item. I invested money, as I like the concept, hoping once I got through the first few levels this would balance out, but level 9 and still fighting to make any real progress which is ruining the game for me.

Loss of progress

I have been playing this game since it’s release, having invested many many hours on it and have enjoyed it a lot. I logged in with Facebook in the settings so my progress would save like in any other game. I accidentally deleted the game and upon reinstalling, I have lost all my data and have been forced to start from scratch. Oddly my gems and coins have remained but everything else is back to the start. I have been searching everywhere but there is no option at all to login to Facebook to pick up from where I left off. I remember there was an account tab in the settings where it said I was logged in via facebook and after reinstalling, no such tab exists in the settings. This needs to be resolved ASAP so I can continue. If this wasn’t an issue and I could login and pick up exactly on my previous game, I would easily rate this 5 STARS. Please devs let me know how I can log back in or quickly release an update where the option is clearly available from the initial start up screen or in settings.

Energy struggles

I want to give this game 5 stars so badly!! I’ve really been enjoying the nostalgia and the game is really fun! Obviously as previous reviews mentioned the energy problems, everything costs energy, it wouldn’t be too bad it was done right, I’ve spent a year playing FarmVille3 which is the same premise, but they give you more energy (I think 70) and things like removing weeds cost much less energy, you also use the produce you’ve already made in the shops, everything I try to make in any of the shops requires something like kelp or coral, which you can only get from using energy, I understand obviously you want to make money but you need to give us just a little bit more energy or make things cost less energy, I wanna remove one weed but it’s gonna cost me 180 energy? I know I’m not even going to get much kelp from it so it’s not even worth it!! I’ve been playing for a couple of weeks now, I’m on level 18, I’m trying to persevere in hopes I’ll get another energy machine or something! I’ve got heaps and heaps of coins but there isn’t much to buy other than the buildings, you can buy roads and stuff but I can’t place them because I can’t remove the weeds/rocks without spending the precious energy, is there a way you can change the game so the user spends coins instead of energy for EVERYTHING? Another problem I have is nothing is really explained, what am I supposed to be using these bubble elephants for? When I click on the “?” It just tells me how to make them, it doesn’t tell you what you can do with them, same with if I open my bag and click on any of the items, it tells me where they can be found but doesn’t say what you do with them! This might just be a me problem, I’m not the best with games, I’m 25 though, there have to be kids playing this game who’d need more of an explanation!! I really hope this game improves, I’m gonna stick it out for now with my fingers crossed, you’ve got the potential to have a really great game here!

Absolutely love the concept of this game and it’s enjoyable to play, for all of ten seconds before I run out of energy removing one rock! Literally took me a day to clear enough junk to place a building! How do you clear a plant that costa 150 energy when I can only earn 50??? Totally ruins the game! Good game but there are issues

I’ve been playing the game for a few weeks now, and I do really like the layout & tasks in place. You don’t have to rely the on energy also rebuilding, to “buy” (unalike to which some may have commented on here). There are resources to do get more energy, without paying…

However, I am getting somewhat frustrated about some of the tasks, which don’t appear to comply fully. Whenever I am growing feed (for the oysters in particular), anything which I have grew… is saving down, but isn’t allowing me to then use for the pie and tarter sauce you grow in ‘the diner’?! And this is delaying a lot of my tasks now, which all require both of these particular items.

I’ve done everything correctly via following the steps and not rushing through other tasks, and I have all right componants in place, it’s just not complying for whatever reason? It makes me think there’s a error with the game itself.

I’d give 5 stars if the errors on the oysters was not occurring. Can only imagine how stressed out a child would be playing this never mind adults 🤦🏻‍♀️

Great potential but ultimately disappointing.

This game can be fun and I believe it has great potential but so far all I have been met with is annoying bugs and boredom.

I wait around an hour for my energy to replenish and then get hit with bugs when trying to remove certain pieces of debris.

The game registers that I have clicked to remove the debris and it takes my energy but the characters freeze and the debris is still there and hasn’t been removed. I have spent gems on energy and watched ads for energy only to have the energy basically stolen from me as the debris is not removed and I am not granted the items from removing the debris, yet my energy goes down. It’s disappointing and quite frankly frustrating.

Can’t progress without spending money

This game had so much potential it could of been so good but like a lot of others have said you can only go on the game for about 2mins as you don’t have a lot of energy to remove things and the amount just to remove a flower is to much. I’m going onto the game removing one item then coming off again I can’t get anywhere in the game and you can’t get items to get more energy without removing items on the map so you can’t even gain energy that way.

This game just works around making people pay real money to even get a bit further in the game.

Has potential

I feel like the game itself is so amazing it has potential to be a favourite but the energy just doesn’t make sense to me, the energy bar goes up to 50 and yet it costs 30 energy to remove one flower or the task will need like 400 energy just to complete. This game looks like it’s got so much potential but I cannot play any more than 10 minutes of it. The game asks me to “tap on the jellyfish” but when I do, nothing happens. I can’t even click off it. I have tried restarting the game but it’s still the same.

Needs to improve a lot

You go on the game for 5 minutes and use up all your energy right away, and then you can’t go anything in the meantime. Takes ages to just complete one challenge as things cost pretty much all your energy and then takes a while to gain it all back.

UNFAIR ADVANTAGE

New players have an unfair advantage during the mailman competition due to the items the mail man asks for and the time it takes to produce. Later game you have to wait sometimes up to 30 minutes gathering items just for one delivery when early game all you have to do is cook up some crabby patties.

Instead whoever does the most deliveries win it should be whoever earns the most xp or money.

This game is really fun! It’s pretty nostalgic and it’s really cute but you can’t really get anywhere unless you spend loads of money.

Too Intrusive & Blatant Pay To Win

Uninstalling as I chose not to allow notifications, however, whenever I start the game it opens my system settings directly to the games notification options in an obvious attempt to push me into turning them on. Surely this should not be allowed?

Also, as others have mentioned, once you get so far, you have a limited amount of energy and basically can only to ONE thing before for you run out and have to wait ages before you can do anything else.

Really good but…

Game is amazing however the lack of energy is a killer and all these games that constantly make it so you can’t do anything without “energy” are just a killer why not remove the energy system and just let people enjoy the game…

Room for improvement

Hello, I write this review with the upmost respect as I genuinely see what a great game this could be and can see myself playing it everyday

The fact that it is incredibly difficult to accumulate energy is ruining the playability of the game (Removing one obstacle is 45 energy and I only have 50) meaning I legit log into the app, play for 2 minutes, then literally cant do anything else other than wait for my energy to replenish before removing another boulder and the cycles continues. And as much as the energy crafting mechanism in the game help, they are far from great in the long run once you run out of snacks.

Its a shame because I LOVE the graphics and honesty the game itself it’s incredibly fun and the thought of building bikini bottom sounds amazing, but at this rate, i cant even move my buildings without spending energy to remove a plant which costs 30 energy alone.

This is unfortunately going to be the downfall of the game, I understand there has to be some friction or else the game would be too easy to complete, but I really can only see myself struggling for another couple days before i stop playing.

Again, this is not a hate comment at all, writing this review as i really want to love this game and can see it being amazing, if only the energy situation was sorted :)

Torn

This game had so much potential; I spent a good amount of time playing it on first go. Now I don’t have enough energy to do more than 1 or 2 taps each time I open the game.

I was gutted, but without paying for energy, I’m finding it almost unplayable for longer than 1 minute at a time.

Disappointing, don’t bother downloading

The game has pretty good visuals. I was expecting some voice lines from the characters but that wasn’t a dealbreaker. If you’re willing to do 4-5 taps in a game every hour you might enjoy this. In my opinion it’s very disappointing to get an small energy bar of 50 and a singular task takes more than 30 energy. Keep in mind the energy regeneration is SLOW. I wouldn’t bother playing this game since there literally nothing you can do without paying money and even the bundles are unreasonably priced.

The most exciting gameplay you can get is the ads you watch to get more energy since those ads have trial gameplay which has more content than what you’re offered in game

I have 6 jellyfish feed but the jellyfish are not eating it. I can’t find it anywhere in my storage despite showing I have 7 feeds. So now I can’t produce jelly jam.

Reliving my childhood

This game gives me so many amazing memories, i was obsessed with spongebob at such a young age and this game is so impressive and the design and animation of the characters is brilliant, i wouldnt be suprised if it was #1 trending on the app store very soon, very fun, and perfect for kids and nostalgia for OGs.

Pay to progress

The only previous review should have been my warning, once you get to level 6/7 is when the game leaves you to your devices. Once you get to that point its a matter of doing one task and exiting the game for over an hour to come back tap a few times and leave. It wouldnt be as bad if there was other things you could do for a bit in the meantime but everything costs energy and everything gives you next to no energy. The previous review explains this better but what annoys me further is any pre release gameplay shows items costing a lot less energy giving off the impression that the progress through the game would be decently paced, especially when you can see many yet to unlock worlds ahead of you. But only one world progressed and im already bored to tears. 2 stars and generous, no music from the show and just yeah boring. Try it for an hour and i promise thats all you’ll want to get from it unless you want to pay every 5 minutes

Pay to win garbage.

I was looking forward to this app. Although the visuals are nice, the gameplay is slow due to the fact that you have a small bar of energy that takes up to an hour to recharge fully. You have to destroy a lot of debris and objects in the way, all of which cost energy. Small things like flowers and weeds can be up to 35 energy and thus most of the gameplay is doing one tiny action, then exiting out of the app to wait for the refill. I’m not paying out the nose for gems, I’m not doing it, and there is so much emphasis on buying them to get the gameplay to speed up. It’s pay to win garbage. However, I like the visuals and the music, so that’s at least what stops me from giving it 1⭐️. Do better, please. You shouldn’t need to make a game completely unplayable to encourage in game transactions to this degree.
