I have found this a super app to use very handy especially when playing word games. It becomes our judge and mediator when disagreements rear its head. Very handy to have on ur mobile and very easy to use.

Don’t force me to rate you.
I don’t want to share the app or rate the app. But I cannot get rid of it. I paid you around £40, just give me the service I paid for. I would rate this 3star if that was not the case.

waste of money
I paid £20 hoping not to be pestered with ads. Toooo often I'm getting "Support us with a 5-star rating" pop-up. Apple should bar apps which claim not to contain ads from asking for ratings.

Developer keeps demanding 5 star rating
(Add) Thank you for your response. Despite your suggestion that a request for rating only happens after an upgrade, I use the app several times a week and I am always prompted with a very annoying pop up box “Support us with your 5-star rating on the App store now” and the box further offers two options “Not Now” or “Rate 5 stars”. How can a demand for a 5-star rating offer you a true rating on your users opinion? If you valued your users opinion you would allow them to rate the app freely, as and when they wish to do so, on the App Store.
(Original) Overall the app is an excellent dictionary. What I object to is constant demands by developer every time I use it for a 5 star rating. If I rate an app I want to be free to rate it as I wish, not to meet someone else’s demands. This constant bombardment for a 5 star rating on an expensive app is unjustified and I would urge anyone to look for a different app before you pay for this one. If it wasn’t for the constant demands it would have scored a 4 star rating.

Comprehensive and Profound
A superb collection of the multifarious and complex words in the English Language. I could read this like a poem or a novel all day, in fact to me it is both. I Love it !!

Not the most up-to-date version of the dictionary!
First impressions are that the dictionary is very expensive, but seems to work well.
What is not made clear until downloaded is that you are buying the five-year-old 11th edition, not the eighteen-month-old 12th edition. Indeed, the impression given is that this is a recent, 2015, update: but that only refers to the app. The Collins dictionary description on Amazon says there is an iOS version, and this on the 12th edition page. I do not feel that I have been dealt with honestly. I am hoping it will be possible to get my money back...

The Chambers app is FAR superior.
I'm not given to writing reviews but this app is buggy, clumsy and irritating enough to have stirred me up! It feels like it's been designed by someone who's learnt of technology via correspondence course.

Not good enough! Clearly laid out and easy to use but, no abbreviations or guide to using the pronunciation symbols.

Excellent
Definitely worth the money; the best dictionary around on your iPhone or iPod - brilliant convenience. Tremendous interface, good search options, and very comprehensive. Very useful for me as a writer spending ages in cafes; no need to bring pocket dictionary/thesaurus! Collins have always been my favourite, and this app consolidates my appreciation of them. Hope updates are forthcoming.
