I’m so glad I found this app it has everything you need to be a great cook and makes it all seem so easy the best I come across so far

Apart from screen capture it would be good if you could transfer all the ingredients onto a shopping list -that would be awesome but I do love it

Forced to create account
Before you can try this app you are forced to create an account or log in with Facebook. My son didn’t have to do this on the iPad version.

You won’t ever be without this app. It’s incredible. It makes you want to cook. You select how much effort you wish to put in and some lovely food on here

Beware renewal charges
This is a sneaky app. My settings in-app clearly stated I didn't want auto renew, yet I was still charged as it was set to auto subscribe in the background. This demonstrates pretty disappointing ethics which sour the app itself. There are better things available that don't try to steal your cash, I'd keep searching.

Poor - Time Better Spent Cooking a Good Dish
Terrible, unintuitive UI, not at all obvious how to upload recipes. Crashes continuously on trying to upload first recipe on iPad. Profile settings don't appear to work on iPad - change password just give error, so unable to change and using the "forgot password" link fails miserably also. Gave it a couple of hours of grace, but gave up out of frustration - what is the point if tou can't login, or don't appear to be logged in??Cancelled my 30 day Pro subscription and removed the app. A waste of a few hours - try something else.

Pretty useless
Difficult to find anything, gives you 5-6 recipes and a couple of collections on the homepage but that's about it. Most of the worthwhile stuff is behind a monthly paywall.

Poor search
This is a great app if you want to cook miscellaneous stuff but I wanted a specific recipe but couldn't find it. There is no search, the search icon is there but when selected just brings up a category picture show, my recipe fitted into four of the categories I selected one pot meals thinking I could type in a recipe name and it would show any with that name but no I had to scroll through all the recipes looking for what I wanted, it wasn't there so I tried another category it wasn't there.
Chicken chasseur, a common enough dish, but I think reading the previous comments about the American recipes it probably isn't there and even if it was I never found it. So two stars only, I will delete big oven and look for another better U.K. style app. Just so glad it was free

Fantastic App
There are some really great recipes on here!! This app helps me get more creative on the kitchen. I do prefer a home cooked meal compared to a meal in a jar or can :) thumbs up from me!!

Needs lots of work
Was going to pay for this as the layout is pretty cool, but...
1, i can't upload a image on iPhone, tried several times, and it says image has been approved and is nowhere to be seen.
2. There are ingredients in there that are not meant to be there, when you try to edit, they are not even in your edit boxes... makes no sense..
Shame really as the app itself seems pretty good apart from that...
I will change my review if these matters correct, but for now it's not suitable for my needs as I want to share and pin on Pinterest all my recipes and without images or correct ingredients that you can see to edit, it's useless

Great Little App
Loads of great recipes, literally loads of heslthy, easy cook meals, you can add recipes to your log and put ingredients into your trolley so you know what you need to buy, really would recommend:)

Totally broken
One of the main benefits of this app was to be able to plan your weekly menu, drop the ingredients into a shopping list and then take that on your phone to the store. All broken. The iPhone app only downloads the first recipe of your meal plan to the shopping list. You go to the web version and create your grocery list there instead - won't synch to your phone. The print function on the web application doesn't work - all you get is poorly formatted output. This was a rubbish upgrade. Adds no value for the user. Completely untested.

Great potential but falls short
I really enjoy using the Big Oven website. The app, however, is not great. It crashes constantly; I rarely have access to my meal planner and I don't know if I have ever managed to see the shopping list. So disappointed as it has all the features to be a great app. Perhaps an update might help?!

Really useful for the first year. Then I can't buy anymore recipe scans without paying a yearly subscription. I'm happy to pay for more recipescans but I can't. Bigoven is missing a trick for sure,

Excellent app
Excellent easy to follow step by step instructions. My family particularly enjoy the tomato and basil soup with tiger bread. All the recipes keep the variety of meals in our house interesting.

Good recipes but could be better
Good selection of recipes but no ability to search and sort results (i.e. By rating or number of likes for instance). This is something that rival apps can do easily.
Then there's the adverts - horrible, obtrusive flash-like carbuncles sitting at the bottom of the screen blinking and flashing at you. I don't mind static ads, but ones that look like poor gif ads from the 90's need to go - again, many alternative apps like epicurious do NOT do this so its a serious failing with this app imho.

Be been using this app for years ever since I came across it. I always find something to make when I can't decide what to make last minute. It's fab. Love all the recipes I've tried so far, and I've tried loads. The fajita mix is the best! I always make it and it lasts ages in my cupboard.

Very good but could be better
This app is very good but there is still plenty of room for improvement eg having it work as well on iPad as it does on iPhone, enabling you to set Department for grocery list for items and not have to repeat amend every time you do a new list. Having said that I feel that it is still the best app for having all your recipes in one place and using that library to populate menu planner and grocery list.
