Worst service ever

Worst service ever. The taxi driver took me to the wrong address. When I complained to the customer support it was first ignore and then claimed they could never make such a mistake. Use it at your own peril!!!

Over charging

I have rented a car from them and delivered it full tank , However they charged me with more than 115 £ fueling !!!! And took the money from the deposit , on top of that I couldn’t get in contact with the customer service for a week . Another thing is the admin fees for fines , they charged me for every transaction 40£ just for letting me know that I have a road fine which is actually will arrive to my address anyway and I will pay it . So I would never recommend them for the poor customer service and the scams they do , they are simply unprofessional honestly.

Best of the rental apps but needs some work

Update - really annoyed they keep spamming me with football related rubbish. I don’t care it’s the euros, you are a car rental company. Don’t send me spam via the app. Abuse of your access. DELETED.
Add the ability to use Apple Pay and you’ve got a really good app here. In general Sixt should make their club card a little simpler and clearer as to its benefits and how to get it. Otherwise, good stuff

Car rental app in the dark ages

Download the app, download the app, download the app they tell you. All automated, book online. Pay online. Apple pay.
But you still need to bring your driving license, credit card, do a dvla check etc etc.
Arrived at 8am, its now 8:55am, and I still don't have my vehicle.
The legacy car rental companies are dead!

Don’t use this service

I booked on line to pick a car on 12-03-2021 and went to pick the VW car. The amount paid in full at the time of booking. The to pick was 1pm. They did not allow me to enter there because they close office at 12.
I showed them my pick up time and after long talk I went in their office. A long questions and finally they said they don’t have the car I paid but they can give me another car. I agreed because their office is such a place I was hardly get bus to go home.
I waited one hour they did not do anything and said pay £300 advance. I said I got cash in hand. They don’t want to accept cash. They made silly excuses and I realised I was fooled. I said I have health issues and do not want to argue with you. Please return my money I paid £174 so I can go. They don’t want to pay my money they said they will deduct £65 against cancellation and balance will be in my account after 2 weeks. I said I will not go from the office until I get the booked car or my money in full back.
They did not pay the money. I said call police. They called police abs said wait until police come. I waited in the corner a small stool for over 5 hours and no police came no response. No drinking water provided. They treat me like an enemy. I called police in between and explained the situation they said as long as there is no fight or criminal activities they can’t involve in it. So how they told me to wait 5 hours in their office?
I contacted my bank (Natwest) and cancelled the transaction they said they will block my transaction and put my money into my account in two days. Wasted my day and all the expenses to go there and spoiled my mood and money. Lot stress and treated me like a criminal for 5 hours.
Apart from the £174 I paid foe the rental service they asked me for extra foe road side assistance or insurance. That means they will not help you if your car break down or even a tyre puncture. For this kind of very emergency and in avoidable services you must pay another £150. How is their service? They are looters.
All you have to do is to check local rent a car in Google and either see the car or talk them and book it there are hundreds of rent a car all over the UK and never go with this company. I am under the process to file a civil case against them.
This all happened today’s date in 2 Elizabeth way in Cambridge Sixt Office. Please all others keep it all in mind when you use their service. Thank you

Last update on ios14 killed sharing

The Last update on ios14 killed sharing in Munich Germany. No cars show up at all. I tried reinstalling, logging out and back on, restarting my iPhone etc. No luck over the past 48 hours. Also in help there no telephone number to call so had to resort to leaving this review... very unhappy customer as I rely on these cars frequently. Time to register for STATTAUTO instead.

Corsica - Bastia Airport - I would recommend Sixt/Hertz

During a Covid-19 spike in Corsica we were presented with a 3-hour queue to collect the car. No facilities, no social distancing, not enough staff. Crazy, unsafe & appalling management. Then to be given a car that was frankly filthy inside & out. No inspection was possible & another queue to complain, so I took the car & cleaned it myself. I absolutely won’t use Sixt/Hertz again. Worst experience with a rental ever. Complained to Hertz customer services. No response.! Amazed that during a pandemic companies can behave so badly. Very disappointed.!

No upgrade option on App

A real missed opportunity. There is no where to go into the app on an existing booking and press a button to upgrade the car . Ive wanted to do this a number of times when i needed a bigger car after booking as friends were then coming. I dont want to have to ring a call centre each time i just want to reselect
The only way is the cancel the booking and start a new one but once when i tried that they tried to charge me for both . Crazy crazy . In fact so hard i cancelled one booking and went to another car hire co.
Sixt you are missing revenue opportunity here
Another development they urgently need is the ability to extend your booking via the app. All to hard and telephones not answered during covid. Make it easier to spend more money with you. Its not difficult to add this to the app

Best service ever

I’m in Manchester, UK. It’s 5 min from Piccadilly Gardens. I have rent cars there 3 times now, never had any problem. Service is amazing, cars are always clean. If you go to Piccadilly office you will have the pleasure to meet Ken, he has been in this business for more than 24 years, he is 👌 the best custom support ever. Go with him only, he is the man 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Service would not be the same without him for sure.
In terms of cars I have rented minicooper and and Audi. All brand new and automatic cars, I love the power of those babies.
They are much better than any other rent company in Manchester. The app works great, just take into consideration that prices are like in Uber, go up on high demanded season. 😬

Brilliant

Diverted to Gatwick from Gran Canaria on a rescue flight when original flight to Bristol was cancelled. Walked in to Sixt at Gatwick and can only describe the service as brilliant. The cheapest is most definitely not the best!!

We’ve tried different companies in the past and we always ended up having more problems, Silly things like learning the car we suggested wasn’t actually even close to the car we got, waiting a very long time to been seen! (2 hours to be precise!) the cheap companies are never located in the airport.. This is why I would most definitely recommend Sixt! Always give me the car I require, most the time an even better car!! I never wait too long to been seen and the customer service is next to none!

Good app. Friendly service good choice of cars although i do miss the Audi A6 no longer being available. I’ve regularly used car hire now for over 10 years and SIXT are the best operators by far. Bad value?

I recently rented (from the U.K.) a car in France. I had the Sixt website open but was persuaded to try renting via the app before concluding the rental on the website. When I tried the same rental with the app the prices were about 50% higher than over the web site. They were even described as “offers”! My advice would be to compare with the website before booking with the app.

Charging more days!

We had rent a car from Vienna Airport. We returned the car to Vienna Train station the night before the agreed date of return. We did not know that we had to drop the key in the box and went to deliver the key in the morning. We were supposed to deliver the car at 10 and we went at 10:30 since we got lost in the car park and couldn’t find were we parked the car! So we gave the employee the key at 10:30! I received the invoice which said that we delivered at 11:30 and they charged us for one whole day! This is unacceptable! I have been sending customer service emails for 4 days now with no reply! Huge disappointment from a company like sixt!

More info please on sharing and riding

I downloaded the app because of various press reports on how Sixt combines rental, ride and share. Most apps let you preview the offer and functionality and only require you to register once you are ready to actually book a trip.
From downloading the app and the preview screens I can only see a hire option. Dear Sixt, please understand that based on this info I am not willing to hand over my private data by registering.

My reasons for choosing SixT

I had a number of questions regarding car hire as regards LDW, SLI, the excess payable (if applicable), the deposit taken on the credit card and finally, Excess insurance cover… I sent emails with these questions to a number of car hire companies who had branches close to where I will be staying. SixT were the only ones to reply, not only that, they wrote a comprehensive reply to my questions. They also replied comprehensively to my follow-up questions. Booking experience is therefore good, I shall write further after the car hire experience.

Cheated out of money

Disgraceful will never use again.
I rented a car for three days in Berlin. I am english speaking and was told to return the car full.
It was just below full when i took it, i returned it early and had driven to the nearest petrol station i could locate having not been given any information about the nearest fuel station at point of rental.
I then sat in traffic for over an hour driving back to drop of the car.
The fuel was a notch below full as it was when collecting. I have since been charged £49 nearly the cost of a full tank. With the explination being given in German.

Licence issue date validation error

No way to contact app developer directly, so sorry for the duff review, but your Licence issue date validation is broken. Reissued licences or newly issued licences have recent issue dates ie Dec 2018 and the app thinks this date is in the future - and fails validation. Otherwise experience seems v good. Just need to get this message to someone who can fix asap.

No stress

All ways on point! I made the mistake of using Carla who are a broker and it was a complete joke! I’ll use Sixt everytime because it minimises my stress and is actually the same price for a better car anyway.

Service!!!!

For 12 years I wonder why it takes 6 days to get the receipt in Germany. You charge my card on Friday and I get the receipt on Thursdays. Also why are rentals outside Western Europe not counted towards my status. In fact I rented cars from you in Australia and Eastern Europe for months and was told that these aren’t eligible for a better membership. Enough is enough. Goodbye
