good work was helpful to keep PDF docs on iphone but can not work around of arrranging docs in diff folders under diff titles, how to move PDF once on iphone to diff folders or a way how specify which folder
Also lately started to crash on loading on my Ipad2

A virtual printer that enables one to send info from pc or laptop and view it on my ipad without using any cables or paper. I find it really useful and easy..You can even print actual pages from it if you you need to.

Great product
Does exactly what it says and does it well, have used the iPhone and iPad app and have never been disappointed with the functionality. Not all things but if you need a simple print to ipad feature and /ir a pdf stirage solution and a way of quickly retrieving the PDF files this does it very well. Don't be fooled into thinking that its a replacement for storage of official electronic documents , boarding passes etc. it does what it says on the box very well

Excellent App!
I find this an invaluable application. I run it on my Apple devices and although I also run it on Windows 7, I have removed it from Windows Vista because Vista crashes it quite often. As well as being able to print regular documents as PDF files to my devices, I also print web pages, for instructions or for off-line reading. It is without doubt the most used App I own. It handy to print to more than one device at a time. If I launch it on my iPhone and iPad, I get a copy on each without having to print separately. Invaluable!

Just one word - BRILLIANT
Update August 6th 2012. I have been advised that there will shortly be an update with new interface and other improvements.
I was a bit sceptical that the claims made by the developers could be justified - print from ANY program on a PC(or Mac) and view on an iPad? Surely not. But I was pleasantly surprised when indeed this happened.
Installation of the free program on a Win 7 64 bit PC was easy. Installation of the app on the iPad ditto. And so to the acid test. Microsoft Publish document on thePC, select print, select ACTPrinter, confirm and VOILA - it appeared on the iPad as a correctly formatted PDF file. And the same happens with various other apps.
Even better, if I don't like paging up and down the document by swiping, I can export it to something like iBooks and use that (rather better) way of paging. It is also possible to set up sections and drag/drop documents between them. It is, however, a bit 'clunky' and awkward if there are a lot of files in any section as when editing and transferring EVERY section opens up - hard luck if I want to move a file to the last section created as it can take an age to move it over the other files. Surely a better way could be found by selecting a section from a fro down menu.
I have to say that the PC app has ceased working on occasions, but by selecting manual transfer and confirmation, I have been able to get a complete run of 65 transfers (including one of over 560 pages) without any crash. The developers are aware of this problem via their Forum and hopefully will be able to bring out an update in due course.
Overall a great success, and wonderful value for the money. Get it. Use it. Enjoy it.

Disapointed
I have tried it, and I am very disappointed in it since it is not a real printing software, rather a shortcut to send PDFs to idevices.
This is not what I wanted when I bought it, since I wished to use it AS A PRINTER, ie: select my device in the printers, as a printer when I print, not use the 'save a file' option.
I have other apps to transfer pdfs to my iPhone more effectively, THEREFORE : this app? NO thank you! It doesn't add anything !
I want an immediate refund, and will contact iTunes support for that.

Works as advertised. Allows you to get any document that has a PDF print option onto your IOS device quickly. Very useful if you travel a lot.

Very misleading. Does *not* behave as advertised.
This does not present a wireless printer profile. It requires you install software on all machines which will print to the phone. All it does is add an item under PDF export options on OSX which launches this programme and sends the PDF to the phone. How they have got away with claiming this is a 'printer' is beyond me. It isn't. There are better, cheaper, more streamlined and less dishonest alternatives out there.

Great for traveling as all tickets now are in email form, just print the email to act printer and your away. All your travel docs, travel insurance etc in one place.

Fast app switching not working
This is great app, don't get be wrong, but when the release notes for the update state that multitasking is supported then it should do exactly that. Unfortunately when you close the app and try and switch back to the app, it doesn't return to the document you were viewing, rather it takes you back to it's opening screen. Please sort this out.
Opening PDFs in other apps works fine though, but multitasking does not!

Great
This app is great once installed you can print pages from your pc and take them anywhere with you. You do need to go to a website and install software onto your pc, but personally I think it's a good idea. I transfer from home to work and vice versa.

Very impressive & so easy to use
I’m critical in grading apps because I expect them to do what they convey and claim. I bought this app three months ago but never tried it until today because its name does not reflect what it does (see below).
Very briefly, I very impressed. It is so easy to use. It will transfer (“print” as per the developer terminology) virtually any document from your Mac to the iPhone, in no time. Genuinely, it is well worth the £0.60 ($1). And, it uses are limitless.
I would have scored it five stars if it has the ability to edit simple Word documents and hope the developer would consider this. I’d also like to see the simple feature of rearranging transferred documents.
Finally, one little reservation. I think the name ACTPrinter is a misnomer. I really thought it is used to print stuff from iPhone, without a computer. It does not print anything, it just transfers docs from your Mac to iPhone. Simple but great.

Almost brilliant
Sure, I have other apps that will transfer files from the Mac to the iPhone, but none are as slick to operate as ACTPrinter. Use the standard Print dialog, choose Print to iPhone, then open the app on the iPhone - and that's it. No saving the file as a PDF and then mounting the iPhone and dragging it on: this excellent app does it in an instant. Worth 59p? Absolutely.
So why only 4 stars? Because once the file is on the phone you can't zoom it by pinching. There are two zoom levels, full page and sort-of close up; but since you're likely to want to use this for barcodes, phone numbers, airline tickets and so on, you really need to be able to zoom at will. Fix this, and the app will get the full five stars.

Does what it says on the tin
Worked first time, no problems. Saves all the hassle of having two e-mail accounts and sending documents to myself. Have tried other apps for sending docs, but this is the first that works. Can't edit, but for viewing, it's brilliant and EASY!

Perfect , but surely it should be possible to get the PDF into print without emailing it back to someone with a printer at hand - particularly as one can print other files off the iPhone. C'mon, score the extra star and get the last big fixed!

Shame it's so unreliable
When this works it is excellent. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. It fails with a simple error message saying it has failed to print. No idea why. Going to the support website adds nothing in terms of guidance.
As I say, when it does work I love it, but so far this is only on 1 in 3 occasions. I need better reliability for this to be a part of my standard workflow.

MAGIC/ EXCELLENT AND WORKS REALLY WELL
I had reservations about this and even deleted it, but decided to give it another try, I have all the docs that I want to carry with me on my iphone, instead of carrying a briefcase full of papers. EXCELLENT, LETS HOPE THERE IS MORE TO COME.

Perfect
This version is stable for me (no quits when deleting files on the iPhone) and pinch-to-zoom works fine. Acrobat will not print pdf files to ACTPrinter, but I think that is an Adobe problem (Acrobat cannot print a pdf file to a pdf file; it has to be a 'Save As') so open the pdf file in Preview and print to ACTPrinter from there. Its great to be able to carry schedules, location maps and suchlike without paper. Underpriced for its value.

Excellent app
This is an excellent idea. The only thing that stops me giving it 5 stars is that i you have adobe reader as your default .PDF reader on your Mac you can't print to the act device.

No good for boarding passes
Bought this to save printing e-tickets and boarding passes. The first flight I tried to use it on wouldn't accept it as there is no way to tear off a portion at the gate. They then charged me £10 to re-issue my boarding pass which was very annoying as they do advertise it for this use. It's a handy App for carrying travel schedes but beware using it for boarding passes.

Love this!
This works very well for me. I'm sick of printing meeting agendas and notes which are used once then thrown away resulting in mountains of waste paper. The only criticism (hence 4 stars) is that when you delete a document on the iphone the application quits which is a bit tedious if there are a number to delete. Hopefully this will be fixed and I'll change rating to 5 stars!

I use this all the time for my travel documents & my cv! Saves time and a lot of paper, making this app very green indeed. I would recomend this app! Only thing it needs is copy & paste, also a forward option would be good! :-)

Surprisingly useful
I don't use this all that often but I do use it in a similar way to which I would use a PDF printer. This is simple and takes one step out of document generation for Reading on the go. It's also fast. And it saves a sheet of paper too.

Needs fixing ASAP
The main fix it needs is the most crucial: it does not save prints to the iphone/ipod consistently. For example, I'd print 6 pages to the ipod and see them all there on the app. Then when I reopen the app half or all are missing. This makes the app unusable and needs sorting out ASAP. Also it often freezes when trying to scroll through the saved prints and requires a restart most of the time. I now don't use the app as it's just too inconsistent.

Excellent after update
The updated version of this works very well indeed. I can pinch and drag, zoom in and out, look at it in landscape, and email the documents. Very impressed.

Does what it says on the tin - but no more
It does the job advertised, but the viewer on the iPhone could be a whole lot better. I really need to be able to zoom in/out by pinching, as in Safari, for example. Even more importantly, I don't seem to be able to delete a printout from the phone. If it can be done, then it's not obvious to me how I can do it.
