Great app but can be improved
I use this app all the time and I love it, but please make the pictures of the restaurants bigger in list mode! You have a lot of white space and you can make the square images on the left slightly bigger.

The worst Restuarante booking app
This is the worst restaurant reservation app ever.
It’s not easy to navigate and make a booking. Often pages just lead to nowhere and you’re left wondering what to do next. Search facilities are also dreadful. Such a shame!!!

Can never find restaurant
Whenever I search on the App for a particular restaurant it doesn’t exist. When I go to the website of that restaurant, to book a table it links you back to opentable. And then you can book. Makes no sense. Especially if you’re visiting the area. You want to see all your options.

Brilliant App and Service
Have been using this app and service since they were Toptable years ago. Have always been impressed with them. Things that have gone wrong with any bookings in the past have usually been at the fault of the restaurant, ie. not checking their notifications properly or not registering that you visited them. But thankfully those problems have been rare.
Sadly there aren’t as many restaurants with special offers as there used to be, but it’s still worth using the app as the points you receive really add up and you can eventually convert them into a large voucher cheque to pay for/towards a meal.
There’s always a good to excellent selection of restaurants to choose from, especially in the big cities. Useful reading the users reviews also, which tend to prove to be a bit more genuine than say Tripadvisor reviews.
I definitely can recommend Opentable.

Still broken....
Why does the ipad app leave a load of white space in the middle, between the restaurant name and the first booking time, and then squeeze an entire map into a thimbleful of space on the right hand side?
Where has the “search in this area” option gone from within the map view on an iPhone?
The search header on the search results page shows just the day of the week rather than the date even when the date is weeks away.
Awful at reaching its own servers even when on a wifi network that works perfectly well for every other app and the web.
The app's terrible UI remains, with an unclear approach to entering restaurant name versus location and a lack of an intuitive mechanism for going from setting the date and time to seeing search results. Why can’t the home page just show:

Time (including options for ‘lunch’ or ‘dinner’ so you don’t have to scroll to a specific time)
Location
Restaurant name (optional field)
The existing home page is worse than useless.
And the map searches are terrible too - after you have carefully zoomed into a small area with a decent number of restaurants within it, presssing “search here” (when available) prompts the app to unilaterally increase the size of the area searched.
It also randomly inserts restaurants from an area you’ve previously looked at into the search results for a completely separate area, many miles away.
Utterly hopeless, joke of an app.

Stop trying to manage my life!!!!
I hate this app, sometimes when planning a trip you need to make changes.
Right now you have to book restaurants so you book one the you go to book the next night and there’s no space, no problem let’s just swap but oh no you have to go back change your other booking not knowing if you’ll be able to book the previous restaurant and you might have to change it back anyway!!!
Just let me book when I want to if I double book send me a reminder and I’ll choose which one to cancel but this app is rubbish treats us like we are children unable to manage our own eating out plans!!!!!!!!!!!

Great potential, poor execution
Great app which makes reservation booking seemingly simple — specially during the pandemic. However, the amount of spam emails you receive with confirmation requests and xyz is disheartening. I’ve already submit my banking details as a guarantee, which means I will be charged if i don’t show up. No need to harass me further with spam emails. There’s also no way to unsubscribe from these emails which I find unethical to say the least.

Minimal range of options for searches- absolutely sick of seeing availability 30 miles from where I searched. Same places come up every time, the usual High St brands. Some review scores clearly dodgy - a pub (no kitchen open) gets 4.8??!!

Such a great app.. really easy to use. I use it all the time and it saves me trawling the internet for somewhere to eat, look at reviews and book. It’s all easily done in one place. It’s cool to collect the reward points too. Love it!

Poor reward system, otherwise efficient
This is one of the most popular reservation apps covering many Michelin starred as well as local independents and chains. Unfortunately you will find in the help section a huge list of restaurants that won’t accept its reward cheques. They deserve to have this noted in any reviews. It might be better to list the ones that do. Quandoo has a better system where you choose to use points when you book. These niggles apart its a very effective app both for finding and booking your favourites.

Logging in to this app is so annoying that I have had to go to restaurants that don’t book through this app. I can’t log in because e password doesn’t work and then when I try to book something as a guest it says the account already exists. Worst app I have ever used without doubt.

Good app but beware!
I use the app a lot. Very convenient for booking, amending and cancelling bookings. Restaurant coverage for London is pretty good. Rewards aren’t as good as they used to be. Fewer restaurants are accepting the reward vouchers. But I don’t really use the app to get rewards...
A big warning though. I used the feature to invite others to a booking. It sends these as a picture message. I was charged 55p by Vodafone for each message - one per invitee. This is a truly horrid feature I obviously won’t use again.

Great app but I always struggle to find the filters to set my choice criteria, not too intuitive. Navigation could be improved (compared to Trip advisor for example).

Good job Zizzi in cardiff we’re accommodating as even though I booked a table in good time there had been no booking sent forward to Zizzi so basically they had no knowledge of us coming. Apparently we was not the first or sadly will be the last to experience this but luckily we got there before two large parties arrived or we would have been looking for somewhere else to have a meal. Sort it out guys as that’s not a good experience for first use

Turned up to several restaurants and they haven’t got the booking.
try to update or cancel a booking and 9/10 times it is ‘unable to communicate with restaurant’ and wants you try again later. Doesn’t provide a phone number for restaurant do end up no showing even when trying to cancel for a whole day!

Tried to book for 1st Nov got 16 Sept
I attempted to book a table for 1st Nov, but the time was busy so wanted to see what time was available. However, rather than showing me other options for 1st Nov the open table app gave me options for tonight. I missed this little slight of hand and consequently am £10 out of pocket as the restaurant insists on an up front payment and I despite phoning about 10 times I have been unable to get through. I have used ResDiary many times without issues of this sort so perhaps 1 star is too generous.

Easy to use app but glitch in account detail update
I use this app a lot and find it easy to search for restaurants and see if tables are free .
I have other similar apps and some restaurants are better on one or other but this app is probably my first port of call when looking for somewhere to go with friends on a particular date.
I recently updated the app and I can’t change my contact phone details . I can enter a new number and save it . All seems ok . I get an email in German showing the new number but next time I open the app the old number is back in my account details .
Very annoying . Please fix it .

Why have we lost the “search this area”?
The app in good. I use it often, but recently they remove the “search this area”. Usually I could refine the search using the map by zooming in on the map and choosing a smaller area. For some reason this was removed, which makes it harder to identify available restaurants based on area rather than my history profile

We visited TAO Uptown for lunch following a recommendation and is well worth the visit. Our waiter Joe was very polite and helpful. The food, service and ambience was excellent. We had the lunchtime menu which was far more than we could eat. Truly a fabulous place and the setting is very unique!!!

Rough around the edges
The app looks nice, but it’s missing all the important things to make the booking experience straight forward.
Facebook login doesn’t work, it keeps saying they “found a problem”, forms aren’t auto filled with my information, and the credit card field doesn’t let me auto fill with one of the cards saved in my iphone’s Wallet.
Will have to wait until I’m home so I can book using my laptop.

Amazing understated restaurant
Fabulous meal at Cattle & Co. From Lee, the most charming Irishman who served us, to chef Pepe for preparing the most amazing, tasty food. It really did make the day. If you’re in Kings Cross or Euston,London, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. No airs no graces just bloody good food and atmosphere and fabulous service. Thanks once again.

So so bloody confusing...
This must be such an easy app to write. Why oh- why is it so complicated. You find a restaurant. The tables available are shown for today. So you select future bookings and select a table for a day next week. Nowhere does it say 'For how many people' but it then asks you to invite guests. You enter mobile numbers of your guests (it does not matter how many) and click send. Your guests (it does not matter how many) then get a text inviting them to a table for two. So so bloody confusing...

It’s so useful being able to look up places, check menus and facilities, and book effortlessly. Have yet to try and get and benefits out of the points I’ve collected, but the loyalty scheme aspect always brings me back to the app when making bookings, and it seems almost every restaurant is on it! Only criticism is it seems most restaurants aren’t made aware of special requests or notes when booking...

Great Night... 🥩
My daughter & I had a great experience at Top Blade!! We booked a table at the last minute but managed to secure a table for 2. We both had the Flat Iron Steaks and both were cooked PERFECT 👌🏽 (medium/rare) The sweet potato fries were delicious! The wine list had many great options. The Profiteroles and the Mojitos were AWESOME!! Our server ‘Molly’ was attentive and pleasant! My overall impression of Top Blade is that it is vibrant, young and classy!!

Not working
My cousin has used this app loads and speaks highly of it but mine doesn’t seem to connect to the severs at all. I have tried deleting it and redownloading and it hasn’t changed. It won’t connect through my Facebook or make a profile as it says it isn’t connected. This has been going on for a couple weeks now so is rather frustrating as I’d really like to explore options of places for dinner for my birthday. Hopefully there will be a solution soon.

Disappointing
We booked a table here for my husband’s birthday for 3 people. The table size was for two (small) and was not big enough to accommodate all the glasses and dishes . Our bill came to over £340 pounds , so a massive profit to them and a total insult to us!! The food was good but it spoilt our special evening. A good example of restaurants taking their punters for granted. I will not eat here again .

Have managed to discover some of the yummiest restaurants on here that I would have otherwise never come across.

Great app, nice interface, one more improvement needed
Love OpenTable, it really is a well put together app, that comes in handy when one wants to book in advance or find good offers. I only wish more restaurants and eateries were shown, but I trust they will be continuing to expand the database.
The only thing missing that would truly make it perfect would be if developers can design and build in (upon agreeing with all eateries included in the app) A UNIVERSAL payment method via the app, after the user add their card(s) details onto it.
Once that would be done, it would save the hassle and time of the billing for both the till assistants and the customers.

Waters Restaurant
We arrived 45mins late for our booking but the staff could not be more hospitable.
We took the set Sunday lunch menu which was just great this could be our new favourite restaurant at Resorts World.
We will visit again soon a must visit, great value, great food.

Great food spoilt by poor customer service & care
My wife and I booked a table for 8pm to celebrate 28 years of marriage. The food was excellent however the restaurant was empty, the room was cold and when the staff started to reset the room for breakfast on a $150 2 course meal half way through main the lack of any experience at customer experience clearly shone through. Do not go here if you want a special meal for two. We declined desert and we're not even offered tea and coffee. To cap it off they wrote "Happy Aniversary" on the bill. Oh and paper topped table cloths over linen is soo cheap! You really need some customer service consultancy. We reluctantly paid the bill and left no tip.

On overall food was Amazing service Was Fast, impec, and on top of that a good moos and relax atmosphere .... rushing for having Something to eat , and there it was a perfect Tiger praws in tempura , spot on time and Plain Fresh salmon ... on top of rice !! Flaws but still the most useful
This app has good coverage in several cities that make it useful to me but is very frustrating to use. Why default to listing restaurants miles away for a “nearby” search? Why include an option to sort by ratings when it does nothing of the sort? Why do search results often include duplicate results - sometimes next to the other, sometimes as a repeating list lower down? Even the A-Z sort doesn’t work!

Handy quick views of what bookings are available around you now. Fast confirmation online and in email (which has all the info and links to restaurant and menus, directions, you could need). and add to calendar. Very easy to modify bookings. Easy to add a review.

A "must have" app but frustrating to use at times
This is my "go to" app for restaurant bookings but they never seem to get the user interface quite right. The latest issue is that it seems, as far as I can tell, impossible to enter a venue name rather than a location. They also do not seem to have as comprehensive a list of locations as other apps, which can seriously hinder one when looking for a restaurant in a particular place. All that said, booking itself is generally a painless experience which can be accomplished remarkably quickly.

Very Poor
It took me half an hour to book. Tried to book as guest, tells me I have to log in because I have an account. Login with Facebook gives me a server error. Can’t log in with email because forgot password. I reset my password and come back to the app. I still can’t log in on the app. I try to log in with Facebook and google on the website, more errors. I try with my new password on the website and it finally works. Tried to log in on the app again still not working. Waste of half an hour for something that should have taken 1 min to do. Poor.

Very easy to use but minor bugs
Simple to book and the Maps integration makes it very easy to book all within about 30 seconds. However I experienced a consistent bug of “server unavailable” when trying to book for the last 2 months and only after uninstalling and reinstalling was that resolved. I tried to use the app on several occasions and was unable to book which affected my plans. Hopefully the recent updates have prevented this bug from reappearing. Overall, I am a big fan.

No need to call 100 restaurants and can immediately see your options at any given time. Also no issues with restaurants losing your reservation which seems to happen surprisingly often with bookings made by telephone.

I find the app easy to use and the service provided is so far excellent. Reservations are made i.e. The restaurant gets it and the comments also get transferred. Which should be expected but it's nice to know that it actually happens :-)

Great app for travelers
I use this app almost daily. I travel 20 days out of the month and rely on Open Table to provide me the better food places to choose from. It gives every detail required from telephone numbers, dress codes, parking and directions. Top job Open Table

Great App but won’t update
I really like this app and love the fact I can book a restaurant in Chicago from my desk in Aberdeen.
The only negative is that the app no longer updates properly since iOS11. I now have to delete and reinstall every time there is an update.
Please fix opentable!

Doesn’t install properly on Apple Watch
Used to be a fine app but recently on late iOS 10 and current iOS 11.0.3 it doesn’t install properly after it’s biweekly updates. I have to delete and reinstall each time. On the Apple Watch (4.0) it doesn’t install properly and it’s stuck in a infinite reinstall routine so had to delete it. I suspect it’s an App issue as other apps work as it should.

Such a handy app!
I always book my favourite restaurants through Open Table and the restaurant always have the reservation. My only criticism would be that to redeem vouchers, you have to use a lap top to do so. Other than that, I have no complaints.
