Description
Simple DoF Calculator allows photographers to calculate the depth of field and hyperfocal distance for any given settings. It calculates the near limit, far limit, total depth of field, hyperfocal distance, distance in front of the subject and distance behind the subject.
Just choose your camera, aperture, focal length and focus distance and it shows you the depth of field, calculations are all done in real time.
Aperture range: f/0.95 - f/64, focal length range: 3 mm - 1200 mm, focus distance range: 1 in. - 999 ft.

Excellent yet simple DoF calculator
Does exactly what it says on the tin providing simple-to-see-at-a-glance results. I've looked at many of these calculators and they can be a mixed bag ..... From the 'plain confusing' to the 'way too complicated' ...... this one sits nicely in the middle by enabling easy settings input and quick access simple but effective graphic and numbers results. I've checked accuracy by comparing with DoF tables and seems spot on ...... Worth a quid and a half of anyone's money.

Clean, simple, effective.
There appears to be a plethora of apps available that fulfil a similar function, so it's a bit of a gamble as to which one to pick.
This app has a clean, simple interface that goes well with the iOS7 design and offers some nice customisation options.
It offers a wide range range of cameras models and allows the user to input up to four concurrently, useful if you have a number of cameras with different sensors.
Overall a nicely put together app which is well worth downloading.

Super Useful
This is the first app, of this kind (DoF calculator) I have downloaded for my Fuji X-E1, and it seems to be exactly what I was hoping for.
Nice clean interface, especially compared to some of the other offerings.
Worth a shot... :)

Not accurate
This might be helpful for beginners trying to understand depth of field for the first time but this tool would seem to be inaccurate. On my 5d mkII I am told that at 17mm and f13 I should focus on .75m to maintain infinity focus. This leaves the distance out of focus the real value should be around 1.5 m. The 7d is also in the same group is the much older 10d. The radically different pixel densities will produce different circles of confusion and different depths of field for a given focal length and aperture, however they are given as the same.

Great app
This app is simple and easy to use. A great selection of cameras. Maybe the functions are a little basic. But it is just a simple dop calculator, as it states. So I have no complaints.

Very useful and easy to use
I tried a few other depth-of-field apps but settled on this due to it being really simple to use. I like the way the DoF is displayed graphically as I can read it at a glance. The f/stop, focal length and distance are easy to dial-in, with good granularity to the options available, which can be varied to provide fewer options for speed use use. Distances can be entered and displayed in metres or feet - that is a configurable option.
I use a Nikon D7000, which wasn't on the list initially, but it was easy to download.
All-in-all a useful, simple app!

Brilliant
When I bought this app I was a bit unsure about hyperfocal distance. I was apprehensive as other apps had fancy diagrams etc to show the dof. However this app is superb and has everything you need when out shooting. It takes a few secs to check the dof at the focal length your using once you know your distance to target and this app will let you know if your dof will be wide enough or what adjustments you need to make. Simple is better.
The only downside is the overcomplicated camera choices. It should only have options for full frame, crop frame, apc etc etc instead of pointlessly listing loads of models of camera.

I bought this app and so far it does not function on the ipod touch loaded with 3.1.3. it is stated that this is what is needed, the supplier then states there is a problem with 3.0 iOS. This is misleading. I contacted the supplier but just get an out of office reply telling me they are all on holiday. Surely the whole organisation can't go on holiday at the same time!!!!! I can't see the need to refer to specific cameras as depth of field is dependant on three things : the focal length of the lens, the aperture and the distance the lens is from the point of focus., the supplier also refers to Analog cameras. After 30 years as a professional photographer I can only identify two stills cameras in existence, film and digital.

Nice and simple and does the job well. To improve it, how about adding support for Ricoh cameras? E.g. GR Digital series, GXR etc.

Why are distances are measured in feet and 99 (!) inches???
Doesn't foot equal 12 inches?

Well worth the money - so easy to use and instant readout of DoF. Gets 10 out of 10 every time and saves a lot of time on a location shoot.

Best depth of field calculator, yet!
Simple and effective, this app does the job exactly as you would want it to. I tried / bought other depth of field calculators from iTunes, this one is the best !
