Apple Music bug

When entering Apple Music library a prompt to purchase Apple Music appears, when rejecting this prompt the menu goes back to the starting one. An infinite loop occurs in which I have to by Apple Music in order to listen to my personal song files on the phone

Good But Could Be Improved

App does what you want it to. Speed change is the main function and so the app would be improved if the slider control for speed were accompanied by, or replaced by, something more exact like plus or minus buttons. Using the slider to get the precise speed you want can be frustrating, particularly on a small phone screen.

Great resource

Very simple and effective layout. Links easily to my Spotify. Intuitive controls and easy to you. Coupled with my headphone amp, I can go anywhere in the house now to find a nice view while I practice.

Can’t sign into spotify

I sign into spotify online then try to press “agree” to allow the app to use spotify but nothing happens. I have tried refreshing, restarting and opening in desktop veiw and none work.

Still great!

Been using ASD on PC and Mac for years and now using this version on iPhone/iPad. Awesome piece of software which does exactly what it says altering tempo and pitch with ease and doing it well. iOS version is just as good as the computer version. Highly recommend.

I couldn’t be happier with this app.

I like to use city ambiance and rain sounds etc that I’ve bought from the iTunes Store to help me sleep. You can access these in app and loop them so that loop is seemless and doesn’t get interrupted when it restarts again. I’d like to say thank you to the developer.

Still the best tool for slowing down and looping tunes for practice and transcribing. It’s layout is intuitive and simple to use. I love the way it links to Spotify so I can search for a new tune to study and bam, its there ready for me to start work on.

Disappointed

Unfortunately when selecting a loop to slow down the app only allows you to divide a section in one second increments. This is irritating if you are playing the section on a loop either to listen or try and play along as the rhythm breaks after each loop. I would be happy with the app if it was cheaper but coming in at £15 I would expect something as simple as being able to cut the track into 1/10 second chunks (or even 1/100 second) to be covered

Stunning App.... But....

This is a truly stunning app.

It does what it does inexplicably brilliantly. It even allows to change the speed by BPM as well as percentage.

However, you can’t export in any WAV file format ....

Yes, I am fully aware that the quality of the audio is being exponentially destroyed ..... but I need it exported in the highest possible quality and unfortunately m4a just doesn’t cut the mustard.

Please please add this feature to the full version.

Incredible app !!!

This app is absolutely amazing and has revolutionised my transcription work.

I can now slow down my favourite guitar solos and work out the notes.

Hasn't worked once since I've bought it

Every time I go on it takes me to the page where it doesn't have the option to use audio from Spotify or iTunes.. It takes me to ASD's default page where all the folders are empty..

Please fix this as we pay a lot of money for it..

Superb for transcribing!

Brilliant app! You can link it to your Spotify playlists or load mp3's and change the pitch/speed of tunes and even loop parts of small tricky segments, making it so easy to transcribe and play along to solos. Must get for any musician with a Spotify premium account!

Almost PC like control of slowing and looping on a take anywhere device. Essential tool for musicians.

And now can manipulate songs from Spotify for on the fly control of almost any song. The future is now :)

Still amazing

2014: Came back to this after a long break and am stunned at how good the product is. Effortless import of songs from iTunes, and excellent algorithms for slowing down the tune without distorting the instruments or changing the pitch, and easy to set bookmarks to loop over and over a piece as you learn it.

***Update*** Reviewed this when it first came out, and liked it a lot then. It has now reached version 2, and is better than ever. I like the new ability to import tunes from the onboard iTunes library. Better than Wifi by a mile, for me anyway. Other niggles I had before like setting loops precisely have been elegantly resolved so I'm running out of things to add. Perhaps if it allowed us to record a track to it using the onboard mic, then slow that down?

All in all, nice work! I don't mind the price - this isn't a mass market appeal app, it's never going to sell in its millions, and it does a great job. Give the developers their dues.

Have used ASD on Mac and PC for a while now to help us learn session tunes by ear. Delighted it has made its way to the iPhone - makes practice and learning new tunes much more portable.

While this version is not as fully featured as one for the PC/Mac, sounds pretty good and does a decent job of slowing tunes down without much distortion, and changing pitch too. Wireless transfer of files is as straightforward as it gets. Shame Apple dont let you use it on tunes already on the iPhone (and probably wont in 3.0 either) but not much developers can do about that.

There are a few things I'd like to see - saving settings, and a "Reset" button (or shake?) for when you've messed up the loop/pitch/

speed too much and want to quickly put things back. And some form of finer control for setting the beginning and end points of a loop? But this is only v1.0...

Otherwise, its pretty much perfect. By AppStore standards, this is not cheap, but it's a port of a commercial piece of software, and for those that need this type of thing, well worth the money. Highly recommended (and far, far better than the one other app that claims to do the same kind of thing).

Love this app

This is a great app but it's missing a very important feature, the ability to control the volume of the playback apart from the main device volume.

This is because I now play Bias (guitar sim) alongside ASD but the music is too loud vs the sim and can't balance the levels.

Works for me!

I recommend this for people learning lead lines. I love spanish / Latin and Flamenco guitar and Gypsy Jazz Guitar. The top Gypsy Jazz guitarists play amazing lead which is also played at speed. This app has helped me to capture the notes so I can work out what and where they are playing on the neck of the guitar.

You do lose. Little sound quality but for me this is the only music app I need.

So if you want to learn lead guitar, get this app!

Incredibly useful

Totally worth the money. Brilliant for teaching when the student hasn't got his/her speed chops yet. Surprisingly good audio quality, even when really stretching a song. I've had the desktop version for years and it was only the price of the app which put me off till now. Seems the app sounds better than the desktop version too!

I think the developer would sell more if they lowered the price despite the app being worth a lot more than £10.

Brilliant

This is a fantastic app and one that I would highly recommend to teachers. Being able to loop certain passages of music, slow the tempo down without changing the pitch and being able to store the the loop has really helped my pupils.They can now transcribe and understand the mechanics of what they are studying much more comprehensively and no longer have to guesstimate what is happening. It's soo easy to use as well....you need this app!

I thought this app would be head and shoulders above the rest BUT its definitely not. Interface is poor, features are lacking and it's way overpriced. Not a patch on Tempo SlowMo which is free to boot.

Elegant, simple interface. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Option to save loop segments of difficult passages on your iPad/iPhone. Essential for any guitarist building towards tricky faster parts at full speed.

Brilliant!

If you're a folk musician like me and want to learn new tunes, or learn to accompany tunes on guitar then you can slow them down, change the key, store a loop of part of the tune, it's brilliant. Invaluable I'd say actually. Well worth the money for the full app.

Excellent !!

I rarely take the time to review apps… but this one stands out ! ! Not the flashiest of graphics but does exactly what it should superbly!! Of all the music apps on my devices, this one is up there as a favourite and used all the time.. excellent for slowing down a solo and looping it until I get it right!!

Well Done - more apps like this - we all like flashy looking apps but I'll take functionality that actually does what it is supposed to every time.

Just Amazing

Honestly couldn’t live without this app now, I use it exclusively as my main music player on my iPad3, it is indispensible & simplifies learning new songs, thanks for a well built useful, essential app that makes it so much easier for musicians to easily study new songs and riffs.

Perfect for transcribing!

I have been using the pc version of this software for years, Since getting an iPad I use this app every time I need to transcribe from a recording.

It's easy to use and pretty intuitive. But read the help menu when you start so you don't miss some of the valuable features!

I can't even think of any ways to improve this software.

If you want to learn to play something from a recording, this app is ideal.

Excellent App BUT.....

A good tool for the musician to learn passages at slower speeds and singers for trying out different keys. But it definitely needs the ability to save your adjusted files. The PC version apparently is able to do this as quoted in the developers Q & A website, but that is not made clear enough in this version before you purchase.

It's great with one thing missing!

Yep - works really well. I'd really like to be able to export the altered song via email. That would make it perfect. I would say that it's a tad expensive but if you need this sort of thing like I do it's worth the money.

Good Stuff!

This is a great little app for those that would like to transcribe difficult passages of music. The loop points are a bit diddly and you can't precisely pinpoint the exact loop points, but apart from that it's a great app! If you start adjusting the pitch/speed on vocal track a male voice will end up sounding female or like a chipmunk but it's great that you can hear the instruments very clearly when making these adjustments. I would give it **** and a half for a great little app!

Excellent app for musicians

This is a great app for musicians. The simple and intuitive interface makes it easy to pick out a section of a track, play it on a loop, slow it down and adjust the pitch. Ideal for learning a tune by ear. This is a well designed and very useful app with a somewhat selective target audience, so I would say it's very good value for money.

The Reason why i have not given this App a 5 Star is because it is not so easy to create exact looping points, for example, A and B Looping points. If the programmers were able to do that, it would be excellent. When trying to drag with finger, it is virtually impossible to pin point exactly where you want to loop to end. Please fix this for next upgrade, then i will be a happy bunny

Annoying Library Management

Does what it claims to do, and does it well. But...

Is it really so hard to write the upload interface in a way that lets you upload more than one track at once? And, if you are upgrading from the lite version, anything you uploaded to Lite is lost when you open the full version. Why? Considering how fiddly it is to upload a track it surely wouldn't hurt to have that track available if you decide to buy the app.

Only three stars for the immensely annoying library management.

Problem solved and this now works a treat. Everything functios well, and it is very convenient to be able to access these excellent feature of only a phone. It would be useful to be able to access music stored on the a form directly, without having to use wireless, which is not always readily available

Effective and Very Useful

If you want to play music at different speeds or a different key this is brilliant. The import is simple though you have to do one file at a time. I have been using this on a desktop for sometime and it is invaluable.
