The app has a pop up which keeps encouraging you to give it a 5 star review. It’s not a bad dictionary but it feels like it is trying to manipulate users to boost its ratings

This app pesters me at least twice a week to give it a five star review. It is not a five star app (see below) and it is inappropriate and intrusive to nag and pressurise users to rate it as excellent. I use a French dictionary app based on Larousse and its search function (the core task of a dictionary) is *much faster* than this app. This is an average app with a tiresome tendency to invite you to tell everyone how brilliant it is (isn't).

The dictionary is great - clear and uncluttered to show you just what you need. The tools such as Favourites and Word of the Day make it easy to build your vocabulary, and you can share entries or send them to other apps such as Evernote.

In this version you can't just scroll through the book in either language. Now useless for me. It's not the book/app I paid for anymore. Please give us back this option.

I'm studying the OU Rundblick L193 basic German course, and this dictionary is recommended on the book list. I hardly use the real book, as I now use this App all the time. I also travel a lot for work, so it's perfect for being able to work on planes, in airports, etc. and means you don't have to lug a weighty book around (if I was starting again I would simply buy this App and forget the actual book). It's also much quicker looking up words on the Ap versus the book. This has been a lifesaver for me. The cost isn't cheap, but it's been well worth it.

I have the book versions by Collins. The App version is a great little addition, not fancy, true a better interface would be nice, but all you need.

This seems like a straight transfer from the book, so doesn't offer much extra. Note: this lacks the grammar that you will find in the book. Tschus.
Good, but flawed

While this is cheap for a proper dictionary (£12 being the norm for Collins) it has some problems. Most notably, it doesn't bring up the keyboard when you start the app.
Instead, you have to tap the text entry space which has a bit of lag - and a couple of seconds of lag each launch is very tedious if you're checking lots of words every day.
Bring the keyboard up by default and it'd be a lot better.
