This is a really excellent dictionary. Easy to use, great conjugation tables and some great added features like voice input and word pronunciation.

Great app!
I work for a French company and speak / read / write French a bit. The app is really handy for when you’re reading / writing and can’t quite remember something. Some words not there but way better than a small dictionary, and verb conjugations really useful.

French Dictionary
Excellent app. Both helpful and comprehensive especially with its wide vocabulary and pronunciation support.
It would however be helpful if the French speaker spoke a little slower to aid understanding as even on the 'Slow' setting he speaks very fast.
Also there are some translation errors.

Versatile and pretty comprehensive
A very useful app for translations, verbs and pronunciation. Please keep adding to the phrases, especially those useful informal ones that contain the everyday slang and are used more often than the formal phrases we are taught.

Best of the ones I tried
I tried a few different English/French dictionaries before discovering this one. It stood out head and shoulders over the rest so I was happy to pay for the full version

Only uses formal vous
Not a bad app, but annoyingly insists on only using 'vous' in the phrase book, even under sections where you just wouldn't use vous, such as Flirting and Friends.
Overall it's ok but limited for phrases. Ok as a dictionary and good for verb tables.

very intuitive
this is one of the most friendly Apps i've come across. Most of what you want is there at your fingertips. verb tables perhaps would have been nice, but apart from that is is very good at guessing what you are trying to do with language. you type and it knows if you mean french or english. it helps more still by giving various "case" uses e.g that word means that as in "trying to catch a train", or the other in "mowing the lawn" or still something else if you are "Shopping at Sainsbury's" i mean they are more sensible than that obviously

Slick interface, poor dictionary
The interface is great, but the word list and definitions are poor. Of the first dozen words I tried to look up, 4 were missing or incorrectly defined. For example: "bouffer" is "to eat", not "blouse; "se pointer" and "étriper" just don't exist; "pu", the past participle of "pouvoir" is also not found.
The Larousse dictionary (at just over half the price) finds three of the four above.

Easy to use, particularly when in a rush, contains helpful details like the gender of words and verb tables. Doesn't include more specialist or old fashioned words though.

A useful friend to have
I live in France now and it's reassuring to have this in my pocket when I need it! It's not totaly comprehensive, but fills the awkward gaps when you're stuck for a word. I would not rely on it for perfect sentence construction but I dont feel thats the best way to learn it anyway, just get out there and use it and I find the French person you are speaking to will usually help you anyway!
I wouldn't be without it.

This dictionary is very good, I like the mixed format. As a reasonably fluent , but NOT bilingual, there are occasionally words that I need that are not included. What is seriously needed is the gender of all nouns.

This is the best translation dictionary that I have found. Sure it could be enhanced, improved. Couldn't we all? It still remains the best available.
'some' spelling errors typos are very unfortunate. An expansion to include more especially tense changes/endings. Overall this is a very useful and well built app. Thank you.

Avoid this
This is not worth the money. Very little content in grammar and phrases section. Some translations are simply wrong ("allumer" does not mean "turn off"!) and some french words mis-spelt ("echouter"?). This was not created by a french speaker and cannot be relied on.

Good App, could do with some polish
Generally I like this app, it has many pluses but also room for improvement.
I also think the response from the developers (i emailed with feedback) was outstanding! I hope they put the ideas into action.

Ease of use, 4*:
Very easy to use, flip function nice. Only draw back is if you can't spell it in French it doesn't find best match.
Dictionary 2-3*:
Could do with more words, a little limited.
Would be nice to be able to search on notes made (i.e. 16 etre verbs etc...) or generally filter searches.
Would be nice to search for a word in English, then double click one of the French results to 'flip' the translation... leading to verbs too would be advantageous
Verbs 2-3*:
Having verbs option is great, but could do with conjugations of verbs in more than just present tense, (maybe just the 3 mains ones would do).
Categories 4*:
Not much use for it but it seems good.
Quiz 4*:
It's nice to have the quiz option, to aid learning. Being able to add your own would be nice (e.g flash cards equivalent) but not vital.
Other 5*:
I love the access to the whole suite offline. I only have an iTouch so this is vital for me.

Tread carefully
I've just spent a week travelling around France, and thought this app would be perfect. Sadly it's not. I've given it 2 stars as the functionality and useability is very good, and because it has great potential. There are nice features, such as you can add a picture to a word and you can flip the French/English translations around easily. However, if I was giving a star rating on value alone it would be a one star. The price is too high for what you get. The big issue is that there is just not enough depth to the grammar and words in the app. I used it predominantly for ordering food off menus, tourist info and shopping. I would estimate it had 35/40% of the words I needed. I could get by, but often needed to ask, which defeated the object really. Wait until there is a new release or the price is more reasonable.
