Not great, basic
Like the idea of this, but some of the descriptions are very generic. Take a look at larch, and compare it to fumed larch. No difference in the description at all! Plus neglects to mention some of the key features of the wood, such it's natural qualities of self preservation.
Makes me doubt the reliability of the descriptions of other woods, so I feel disappointed.
It would be good if they showed you other views of the wood other than just the face. What about the end-grain, or perhaps some shavings? These would be useful to identify woods, you'll struggle with this app alone.
I reckon the descriptions have been copied and pasted off Wikipedia, they certainly haven't been checked over by a woodworking expert.

Okay but limited navigation. Shame you can't zoom images of timbers to appreciate the figuring. I wanted to know how many timber species there are on Earth?

Disappointing
This app is OK and nothing more. No interactivity and no consideration given to european metric users. Looks like it is a straight pull from reference material with the appearance of poor photocopies. For the cost I would have expected interactive conversion elements and greater detail. As a cabinet maker I am disappointed, I had high hopes and it fails to deliver. Clumsy interface and temperamental. With hindsight I would not have made this purchase.
