Keyboard issue

Version 1.2
I would give this app 5 stars but because of the bug with the word keyboard once a word is entered I choose to give 3. One cannot scroll down and click on the bottom of the list and there is no way to remove the keyboard from the way. Also there should be a option to translate English to Arabic as well. I paid over £10 for this app and this is the least I expect from you!

Great app, but...

Version 1.2
This is one of the best Arabic apps available, giving grammatical details (gender, prefix, suffix etc) of Arabic words that most of the others miss out.
The update is welcomed but, once text has been entered, there doesn't seem to be any way of dismissing the keyboard (iPhone 6 plus) and accessing the new options on the home screen, without quitting the app (via the multitask screen) and reopening. Please fix ASAP!
Beyond this, what would make it a truly great app would be the ability to search for an Arabic word using English text… complete with singular and plural (something that seems to be completely missing from any Arabic app, which appear to be mainly geared towards Arabic speakers learning English – a bigger market, I guess) forms of the Arabic nouns... and (the big ask) root, perfect, imperfect and other tenses etc of verbs.

Best one I've tried

Version 1.2
I really wish they would add English to Arabic searching, but even without this functionality this app is the best I've used. I tried many, but the ability to type in any word without knowing the root or base word is unique to this app, and the addition of vocalisation/vowelisation is also extremely useful.
For future improvement, English to Arabic lookup is a must, and inclusion of different forms of the same word when you look it up would also be great.

Version 1.2
This is the best app out there for any student or teacher of Arabic. It sticks to the Arabic tradition of using roots to derive meanings and it's very handy and user friendly.

Easy and simple to use.

I've been using Arabic dictionaries for a number of years and can guarantee you that this is the best Arabic to English dictionary available for the iPhone.
Don't let the price put you off

Version 1.2
I have been using this dictionary regularly for over 2 years. This is a must have for students seeking to learn classical Arabic (فصحى). Suggestion for the developers, it will be good if we can select the word from the browse button and go straight to the dictionary. In addition, to add present tense, imperative and masdar. Thank you.

Great app limited by very poor development and support

Version 1.2
Great high quality dictionary.
But very poor development:
- no regular timely updates
- not a universal app for iPad as well/no iPad app
- no iPhone 5 support
- app icon was retina-less for years until recently
- no additional features such as a favourites tab, or history tab, etc.
And yet the app is veeeery pricey.

I was that impressed that I had to write a review. This dictionary is a brilliant tool - for Modern and Classical language. Far, far, far better than Al-Mawrid.

As a quick working Arabic - English dictionary it's absolutely brilliant & saves lots of time (manually flicking through Hans Wehr can become tedious when you're a new student). Awesome app - I hope the designers work on the English - Arabic, along with more morphology (صرف)

لازم لكل طلبة العربية الذين يفهمون الانجلزية ان يحصلوا هذا البرنامج لكن المشكلة الواحدة انه لا يفيد ابواب الصرف كمن باب ضرب او نصر و غيره

If only English to Arabic too!

Good app but only translates from Arabic to English hence 4 stars only. If it did English to Arabic also that would be awesome. Browse option is clever.

Steep, but brilliant

An absolute must for the Arabic student. As long as you know how to spell the word, you'll find no problems establishing it's root and definition. Updates with plurals/imperfect/gender would really make this application a winner.
