Simply doesn’t work.

Tried to use it for the first time to track a route. One and a half minutes into my walk the app had stopped tracking and there was an error message. Unless you need to leave the app open on the screen and screen completely unlocked, this simply doesn’t work.

Also tried to create a you’re before I left. Wouldn’t allow me to. Kept suggesting routes instead of letting me program it myself.

Honestly don’t understand the point of this app.

Used it for 10 years without issues - excellent app

Walkmeter has recorded all of my walking activities for 10 years as I try and maintain 200 miles a month. The map view and its history data are superb. Only gripe is that on the rare occasion it loses a signal you don’t get a warning until you realise your activities are not being recorded. Other than that it’s an amazing app

What kind of useless walking app doesn’t let you set distance to metres and insists on you using kilometres? Also, it makes you press loads of buttons to reset instead of just having one simple reset button.

I love this app!

I’m sure this app has more useful toys that I’ve not even found yet! But it does the job brilliantly. Absolutely fantastic, and great value for money. The developers seem to actually care that their app is the best it can be - and that it actually does (very well) what it says it should. And it doesn’t drain your battery too badly.

The only thing I’d say is close as many other apps as you can while using it. I’ve found that if I have multiple apps open, it gets upset and doesn’t work properly.

Apart from that, I absolutely adore it. If only other apps could work as well.

Their customer support is great too, if you have a problem or a question.

I use this for walking and cycling and it does a great job with lots of reporting detail. I’m well into my seventies and purely a leisure & keep fit exerciser. I wouldn’t be without it. Good backup support as well.

It’s free to use and The Best.

I have only been using this app for a few years. I am a Brisk walker/hiker. Have over 200 members in my walking group, I advised all to use this app. As it records exactly where you have been. I now subscribe so that I can share walks with my friends. Now with Apple Watch app. It’s even better. Records my heart rate in real time. Only niggle. . . If I walk 7.9 miles, it states 7 miles traversed. So totalling up over a years walks. Can easily add several tens of miles. If you walk, run, ride, move over any distance, this is the best app I have found and used.

Nice easy app to monitor my walking for the Queens platinum jubilee race. Already done 5km and working on my full marathon (done over as many walks as necessary in a 6 month period)

Perfect app to track walks!!

I use this to track my walks. I like that it tells you the miles/km rather than steps (like other apps)! It tracks your route and saves it and gives you really handy detailed stats like average speed and calories burned. It even breaks it down by mile and you can pause the tracker if you are stopping. Really recommend. :)

Distance Wrong

I had an Apple Watch for Xmas and wanted a good app for tracking my walks. I have had Cyclemeter and Walkmeter for years but only used them a few times. I paid for the premium subscription to Walkmeter as I liked the look of it on the Apple Watch. I don’t know why but the distance it shows is all wrong. I look at my watch and it says 1.2 miles covered. I walk another 200 metres and the distance jumps up to close to 2 miles. I’m not sure why but the distance covered is totally inaccurate so a waste of time. I will definitely not be paying for premium again

Why does Walkmeter lose the signal often? It can’t be a mobile signal issue because I never get that with Strava on the same walk.

This App is great, it tells you how much walking you done on the day, the average speed you do and tracks your walk, it also tells you how many calories you’ve burned on the walk. You can check back over the years what month what day, mileage and time taken, it tells you if you’re in the green on a particular day, or red, which you haven’t done enough walking is RED, green is Great exercise.

A great app

I decided to get my daily exercise during the COVID19 pandemic by walking. I just downloaded the first app I came across to record my routes, distances, times etc and I was not disappointed. After a couple of months I subscribed to get the extra features and I’ve used the app ever since. It is intuitive to use, does exactly what I want and has plenty of great features if you delve a bit into the settings. I’d fully recommend this app to anyone.

Inaccurate

The tracking is inaccurate (you only have to look at the map) which means distance is inaccurate too. Despite paying the 8.99 subscription I’m going to have to find a better app for my iPhone ☹️

Am using the paid version & love it. Keeps track of my walks with link to great maps which I then share with fellow walkers. Also logs all data over days/weeks/months/years. I have done over half a million steps so far this year. It pays to explore all the ap’s features before using (some are a bit hidden/difficult to access). Highly recommended.

Great if you prefer to sit in a pub

Just been on a walk and started Walkmeter on me phone to track me mileage and calories burned. At 2.8 miles and 294 calories burned I rested at me local pub.

After a few pints and two large bags of crisps I decided to have another look at how many calories I’d burned only to find it’s jumped up to 4.96 miles and 556 calories burned (and counting).

I reckon if I stay another hour or two and have a few more pints I’m gonna burn off all the calories I’ve had today. That’s pretty awesome as far as I’m concerned.

Free version is all I need

The settings are all tweakable which has either better accuracy or not! But that makes me happy

Free features let me compare the same route and I can aim to be at or better than my median pace. As expected my median gets tougher to beat. I could set a base time as a competitor and I might. But all I’m doing is walk-running on the same circuit each day for basic fitness

I might invest in the paid version in the future I ever feel the need

An update seems to have broken the app

This has been working fine and just what I wanted for about 2 months. However the last few times I’ve been out, the app has decided to stop half way through my walk so the numbers at the end are meaningless. I suspect this is following an update last weekend.

Tried others and this is by far the best. Like the Social media/email features - fun but also good as I walk & run in the forest so can be found if something happened. Maps work everytime where as others I tried were so unreliable. Now been using for several years in new forest and very pleased and would highly recommend.

Brilliant app and just keeps getting better and yesterdays update means podcast users can enjoy listening whilst walking or running. Makes this the perfect app for me. Thanks Abvio.

Maybe I’m confused but you can import a route from others but can only follow it if you’re not recording yourself following it? So I can learn from others as long as I’m not recording doing so?

I can record myself walking as long as no one has walked before me.

So much potential, but.

Had this app on the trial period and it was brilliant. A wealth of information and data and appeared to work well. Only gripe would be that the map in dark mode isn’t great, it needs to be looked at to make things clearer.

So allowed the automatic payment without any concerns. But oh dear oh dear since I have paid for the app it dose nothing but crash. So done some long walks and when you go to check progress there’s a messsge something has gone wrong and the app has stopped. If it happens and you miss a hundred yards then fine but if it’s a mile or two then no. So since it’s now a paid app I have done 8 walks and this crash has happened on 5 occasions.

These crashes make the app absolutely worthless. There’s no clear indication as to what’s causing the crashes, the app tries to blame other apps but with may be 2 or 3 other apps open but not being used then I don’t see it, especially if it’s worked for an hour.

Hope this gets fixed soon, otherwise start looking for a new app.

I’ve used the Elite version for approx 2 months now and really can’t complain. I would love to see a version with a route planner, although I appreciate costs would be involved ( and a name change)... but bar my personal wish list I can recommend this App.

Calorie and heart rate not working properly

This app costs a lot for the Elite level. The heart rate does not stay active once stop the walk. Today a 4.5 mile recorded only 3 calories- a fault that recurs at times. Trouble is it overrides the Apple Watch so under recording.

Great app despite paywall locked features

I’ve been using this app for around 5 years now from back when it was purely a premium app and I was happy to pay for it. I switch the app on every time I go for a walk and find the GPS tracking and statistics fairly accurate without going in to any of the more advanced features. It is a shame that some quite basic functionality such as Apple Watch support, pedometer etc are locked behind a subscription, I’d happily pay to have the features unlocked in perpetuity but not keen on yet another subscription.

A bit odd

Says my average pace is 10km per hour but after walking for 1 hour I’ve only gone 6.5kms. And it says my fastest pace is less than my average. It’s a little confusing looking at the numbers. Nice to know I’ve burnt off enough calories for a burger. Cal Neutral walking - perfick!

Pity the ascent measure inaccurate

I have used this app for a couple of years and generally liked its features, especially the splits analysis. I think the distance tracking is fairly accurate but this summer I was badly let down by hopelessly inaccurate logging of ascent data. I don’t know if this is a recent bug or it’s always been a problem, because previous walks did not involve much ascent so I had not noticed before. Ironically I ran into the problem soon after I paid to have the ad free version!

Dishonest App Store screens for Apple watch

None of the Apple Watch screens and functionality are available in the free app. Should clearly state that Apple Watch functionality requires a subscription.

The annual charge is unreasonable for the unlocked functions. Will continue to use the free version.

Great in principle, but...

I didn’t expect to pay every year just to lose the very annoying adverts. A one-off payment would seem ample.

Also the app will stop during a walk if it thinks your battery or memory is low. It doesn’t give you a say in the matter. This is a fatal flaw for me and has proved really annoying when trying to recce a new route.

Poor GPS

What has happened to this app. Did one of my usual routes with the dog set up the app but all it recorded was the time, with a message saying poor GPS signal. This was not a new route it was off road out in open country.

I’ve used this app countless times before on this route but it has failed the last few of times due to poor GPS signal. In the unlikely event of a satellite failure I must put this down to the last upgrade. Sort it out please.

Works perfectly every time and gives me a great record of the distances and times I've walked. I’ve got a complete history of all my walks dating all the way back to my iPhone 3G! Highly recommended if you're an avid walker!

Got this today and already upgraded to the full version. Has stats for everything I can think of. Great that I can compare a route from one day to the next. Didn't seem to use too much battery (iPhone 6 plus). I used to use Map my Walk, but this has more features that I like. Great UI, great UX, great integration.
