Spend money

Went last year as we hadn’t been for 10 years. It looks like Disney and Universal are cashing in. Disney was appalling. Hardly any staff and any food is very highly priced. Parking for both have can up again. Restaurants along the 192 have also increased prices. I went for the Star Wars, which is rubbish and was told by one of their own staff told me was better at EuroDisney. 3 of us (all adults) for 14 days, all passes and entrance to Seaworld, Flights, accommodation, food, Hire care and insurance. £20k. Never again.

Gone Bad Recently…

I have been a long term user of this app, and have found it a great way to hear a wide range of views. However recently it has become very annoying - defaulting to the ‘For You’ tab was not a welcome development. Even More annoyingly, now my full timeline does not load quickly, and when it does it is in seemingly random order, not great for developing situations, sports updates etc. Also I now see replies to posts from my followers as well as their actual posts and reposts - really irritating (for example I really don’t need to see what my train company said to someone who left their bag on the 1753 from London Bridge). X team - please fix these (and by the way it is really hard to give you this feedback directly)

How to know who is reading your tweets

I got a message on Twitter that “there is unusual activity” and I am unable to use the Twitter! Logged into Apple store to “upload the newer version App of Twitter” but I have my sons old iPhone 6 so it won’t Download😔 I followed the Instructions on Twitter by Entering my email ID and Username but keep on getting “Incorrect. There’s no Information on Help page on Twitter and is Blank. Can you kindly help? However, I am now using shared devices to be on X to post comments. I was used to used Twitter like many others and wasn’t pleased with the change but feel very happy ever since Help provided by X staffs! Basic flaws

1. Opening and add- you have to crash out as no exit on screen.
2 When you try to report that error, guess what you cannot exit the web based reporting screen again no exit so crash out of X

Now useless and unusable

I only follow a few accounts and primarily for local content. Like motorway and local road traffic and updates. And also a local football team and a local rugby team as I can’t always attend the matches. Since the latest very strange update it has completely messed up the timeline and now no content is in any kind of order. So what’s the point? And every time I pull down to “refresh” it does another massive random time hop and will load random garbage from ages ago. There is no longer “see more tweets” or whatever it was changed to so seeing older content from just a few hours earlier now just ends.

Clicking on an actual “tweet” to link through to read a news article or whatever is also just flooded with adverts and makes the article nearly impossible to read. And because of the new layout for such activity it’s impossible to “accept cookies” to be able to link through and exiting the article is also tedious - what designer would put the exit “X” in the lower left section of a screen?
This app and platform is being made completely redundant. I’m sure the paid version or with a subscription lends itself to the paying mugs much better. You’ve ruined it for the rest of us and what this app used to be about. Please bring back TWITTER.

X feels less like a social platform and more like a digital sewer. The feed is a constant stream of rage bait, misinformation, and obvious bot activity, all seemingly boosted rather than controlled. Meaningful conversation is drowned out by the loudest, angriest, and most divisive content, creating an environment that feels intentionally engineered to provoke outrage instead of understanding.
Misinformation spreads unchecked, often going viral before any context or correction has a chance to catch up—if it ever does. Bots and bad-faith actors are everywhere, amplifying extreme takes and turning every topic, no matter how trivial, into a culture war. The result is a platform that feels hostile, exhausting, and toxic to engage with for more than a few minutes at a time.
What’s most frustrating is that X could be useful. There are still smart people, journalists, artists, and experts trying to share real insight—but they’re buried under piles of spam, propaganda, and performative outrage. The algorithm doesn’t reward nuance or honesty; it rewards whatever makes people the angriest the fastest.
At this point, using X feels like willingly jumping into a pit of noise and negativity. Instead of informing or connecting people, it divides them, monetizes their anger, and leaves the overall discourse worse than it found it. If this is the future of the platform, it’s hard to see why anyone interested in reality, good-faith discussion, or mental well-being would want to stay.

Terrible DM update

This most recent DM update might be the single worst update I’ve ever experienced first hand on any piece of technology ever. It’s not just a UI change that we have to get used to, trying to converse with people in group chats made before this update is absolutely asinine. Gifs will stop working like 2 seconds after you post them, images, videos and gifs now take up more than half of the screen and make it very difficult to speak to people. Clicking on an image or video sent to a group chat will for some unknown reason make the image/video flash on and off the screen, I am very lucky to not be epileptic because this flashing (that isn’t intended to happen) that occurs when you click on a video or image could probably put someone’s health at risk. Speaking of videos, they are so poorly compressed now, if you can stomach the insanely fast flashing, the video will eventually play, in the most pixelated form it could possibly reach. This is, by far, the worst update Twitter/X has received and it’s the worst update I’ve ever experienced. I would rather have Rate Limits back if it meant we could have the old Direct Message/Group Chat system back. I really hope this reaches X HQ or whatever, this update is absolutely atrocious. There are no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Revert the changes, and never make something like this ever again.

Getting worse

I have had an account since 2011, obviously it used to be Twitter, when I started my account. Since Elon Musk’s takeover, I have started using it more than ever before, also paying monthly subscription and adding ID verification only as I wanted to make sure no third party (ie bots and/or hackers) would be able to take over (my account). As they (X) reassure you that by adding your government issued ID you will, swiftly, be able to retrieve your account. Well lo and behold, but this is where it all went wrong. Shortly after being fully verified (ID verification) I started receiving emails that I am logging in from random areas and so on. This morning I received an email stating that I have changed my email address (just like that) and ever since I cannot log into my account and the help is not very helpful. I have cancelled all my subscriptions due to it. So even though you are a Verified Paying Account on X, it still does not give you guarantees (even though they lie and tell you that you do get them). Useless!

Can’t wait for it all to disappear

Grok: The app was working somewhat perfectly providing practical solutions and insights on a number of things. I was genuinely impressed by how cool it was. That was until this morning when some horny AI anime thing showed up as I was trying to revisit a conversation from the previous day. I understand that nothing in the world is free but this move by xAI was super low. Even for Elon Musk. I’m disgusted at the new features and how they’ll go as far as manipulating their users to make a few more gazillion bucks. It’s disgraceful and I finally understand all the paranoia around AI and why so many have been opposing it. Not only this reflects how unhinged and incompetent Elon Musk and xAI as a company is, it is a breach of trust that the users have laid on the platform. Using some anime to get its male users to spend money on the app specially younger ones is a cheap move. Won’t ever be investing my time or money on anything that these people ever make in the future. This was a wake up call to steer away from the loser tech nerd manchild and the gross products him and his friends are trying to sell. Just awful on every level!

If I could rate this platform zero stars I would without hesitation.

This is the most depressing platform I’ve ever used since rebranding to X. Before Elon got his hands on this platform it really wasn’t that bad and was actually good for getting involved in communities I enjoyed to make new friends. When the rebrand happened Elon musk was everywhere on that platform. Being petty and pushing his right wing agenda literally everywhere. I was automatically subscribed to political and Elon musk based topics despite never listing that as my interests which I had to test on a brand new account to see if I was just going crazy or not. This platform is filled with some of the most vile misinformation and discrimination you could imagine and I’m glad I just deleted this platform. Not only have I been bombarded with right wing garbage but all I see is ads disguising themselves as posts, only fans promotions and rage bait/interaction bait. If a living soul genuinely believes this platform took a good turn I just wouldn’t believe them because this is no longer a platform and more of a place for right wing Americans to express their ignorant opinions and push hate towards anyone that doesn’t agree. The truth

It’s so nice to be a part of a global truth that has up until recently, been suppressed. The evil is coming out of the woodwork in so many ways, and X is the platform that allows for that to happen.
US politics are leading the way into a future that actually benefits mankind, and I think that this Trump term is the start of a worldwide revolution of truth, anti-corruption, economic growth worldwide, better lives for hardworking people, and the abolishing of many abuses perpetrated around the world, now a spotlight of truth uncovering past transgressions, and the threat of the truth being a very good deterrent to those abhorrent human beings who’ve been acting with impunity for so many years.
Elon Musk has done a fantastic service to humanity, a man clearly driven by a good heart… but I believe that Elon Musk should read the Holy Bible and understand who God is, in relation to who he is… because if he doesn’t do that, he risks inadvertently becoming the most grave of all biblical prophesy: the Antichrist.
He may not have any evil intentions in his heart whatsoever, but he is now the number one proponent of this platform that constantly and inexplicably violates gods second most important commandment, to love your neighbor as yourself.
Whether you are religious or not, this is a principle that I believe Elon has a duty to think very carefully about, as he administers this platform.

Some good; some bad

I don’t have any particular problem with Musk owning Twitter or calling it X. I’m not sure where I stand on his ideological stance about what is or isn’t democratic when it comes to meeting the responsibilities of running a social media platform. Generally I would agree however that the line of where to apply censorship had moved too far in the wrong direction, as in the case of restricting Trump as clearly it didn’t really accomplish anything of value to anyone. It just further encouraged deeper divisions which was the opposite of what(we were led to believe) Twitter was trying to do.
Otherwise I’m not against ads but find untargeted advertising tiresome.
I worry about the ease of influence of anonymous bots/ algorithms and other tech used by criminals and foreign malicious actors as subversive political or financial weapons in social media in general.
Overall I’m pretty neutral about X and will continue to use it principally as a place to connect with others about the subjects im interested in.
I recognise that the unpleasant content, which can pervade, is more of a societal attitudinal issue reflecting the best and worst of human behaviour. This is not particularly the fault of social media per se although it does tend to encourage unreasonable behaviour with little recourse to correct hateful, offensive or just plain wrong & incorrect content. It would be nice to see more accountability for those who hide behind anonymity on these platform to carry on with nefarious agendas. Access to fully democratic freedom of speech should also have the embedded responsibility in social media to be able to know the real identity of everyone on it.

X = Twitter v2.1

Having used Twitter for many years before it became X, it has subtly changed in many ways yet remains ostensibly the same platform.
What I like:
1/ the accessibility and speed of news stories.
2/ Grok - the embedded A.I. Whilst lacking video and audio generative output, Grok makes up for it by displaying the nicest personality when compared to Gemini or ChatGPT.
3/ The open discourse on the platform allows open discussions and expression less hindered by censorship or judgemental rebuke of family & friends.
4/ The social bubble of X however does lack the familiar intimacy of family & friends provided by Facebook, it makes up for it through introducing users to larger groups sharing similar belief’s & experiences.
5/ In my opinion, one of the new changes implemented by X is a failing that somewhat deteriorates content. This is the overly generous financial reward system for content creators which encourages repetitive click bait content that just regurgitates original content from others. The financial reward system encourages quantity over quality and the measurement system employed by X rewards clicks and comments which encourages the click bait nature of posts. The X algorithm then amplifies these posts at the expense of posts made by other non monetised posters. For instance, I have copied some of my own successful non monetised posts with over 1000 views from Facebook over to X and received less than 10 views for the same content.

User hostile app

Which moron created a book mark system that requires net access? Why does it not bookmark locally until web access becomes available again?
Why is there not an alert option - or indeed default - for “alert only first post of a thread”? I don’t want 15 separate alerts when someone creates a fifteen-post thread.
Twitter involves scrolling. 90% of users are right-handed. It takes a special kind of moron to introduce a search / trending panel on the right hand side of the ipad app that prevents the right-handed user from scrolling their timeline pane. Links to images within tweets was broken for at least a week - clicking on the link simply links to the same tweet. This app is developed by utter morons. Which halfwit buried the “add to reading list” button in a sub-menu, rendering it virtually unusable?! The way it keeps defaulting the timeline to top tweets rather than latest tweets is a disgrace. It is FAR too easy to click through to inadvertently click through to a tweet rather than scroll down the newsfeed. No other app I have used suffers from this bug, so it is remarkable that Twitter is SO bad. It desperately needs an option to download all tweets from the past 24 hours so users can cache content before going offline on a flight or underground. Why does switching away from the app then back again result in the app losing the user's place? Quite often, I want to check something related in Safari, only to find that Twitter has lost the content I was reading when I return to the app and instead displayed a different part of the newsfeed. Why doesn't it have access to the same subscription data as Safari, so that content to which a user subscribes is visible within Twitter, rather than necessitating a switch to Safari?

Twitter App for Iphone 11

So I’m paying for subscription which should include the ‘edit post’ option but this feature isn’t appearing for posts I write …

Ok so I’m a little behind with my model…eek!! But iphone is great for using the TWITTER App but there are some glitches…. I used to be able to scroll & respond to any ‘mention’ and still remain in the ‘mentions’ feed. But now when I respond to any mention, I’m auto directed back to ‘ALL’ which is really frustrating! So every single mention is a back and forth process - annoying. Would be really useful to have more emojis to choose from eg more animals - dogs and cats, more heart colours and at the moment I’m currently having to uninstall the App and re install it because my replies in some DM groups are all showing ‘sending’ been like that for 2 hours or more. Yet Twitter via my lap top is working ok🤷‍♀️ The SEARCH option when using an @ name followed by eg ID name or number isn’t yeilding results - keep getting pop up to check out new X features - not helpful so have to manually trawl to find what I’m searching for ……. Why do I have to trawl when the search info criteria is definitely on X and takes me ages to scroll to find.
Using iMovie app for iPhone to compile short video takes ages to upload and often fails to post….

Community Notes is Core Service

I have enjoyed using Twitter now X from the start. The easy and fast access to snippets of stuff suits the way I like to consume my news and entertainment. I am enjoying the more apparent access to non traditional sources of content on X which are helping me see beyond the comfort and reassurance of my echo chamber. I love the refresh facility which gives me a feeling I am seeing worldwide currently relevant or newly created content. I really appreciate the guidance given through community notes.
The downside is the “new” content is not always currently relevant but is purposely reposted as if it is to reignite responses that may be of little value. While good posts of the past can be worthy of reposting, the time of initial posting is commonly hidden or unclear.
For more news or issue related posts I would like it if I could be more easy made aware (i.e. near top of post) of the (1) age of the content I am fed and (2) if there is community notes appended to end.
I sometime invest in a post time-wise and emotionally to learn below the post that I have been played. I look forward to continuing to enjoy X into the future.

My account / profile keeps on encountering a problem

There is something wrong with x(formally twitter )
because every time i log into my x / twitter account / profile on the app keeps on coming up with a message saying something went wrong try again later.
and everything on my profile that is normally there dissapears and dosent work properly as it Normally does withought the error message. This issue needs to be permanently fixed / sorted so that it never happens again .
Reason I gave the app 2 stars is because when creating a post + once a original full length video is selected from photo library.
there is no other option / choice available apart from only trim instead of done .
when posting which cuts out half of the clip / video content down to 180 min’s originally 2 minutes or more .
then to get the original full length video intact with nothing cut out / not removed requires premium payment to create a post and use a original full length video of more than 180mins for example 2mins 10 from photo library should be a feauture that is a free option that can be used / uploaded in post’s same as what Instagram and TikTok has when creating and posting a premium payment to increase video length should not be a requirement once again should be free.

Gets worse everyday

Ever since the buyout by Elon, the website and app has seen basic features that is available for free on Twitter before and on other sites, become locked behind one of the most egregious and expensive subscriptions I’ve seen, and seeing what is essentially Elon’s lobotomised goons defend it religiously is starting to get tiring. At the price you get for Twitter Blue, you could get a subscription for a streaming service, or even multiple and have near endless content to enjoy, VS arguing with some prat with a blue tick. Also Elon is planning to change Twitter into “X” because he has a fetish for that letter for some reason, so Twitter, Tweets and all the stuff you used to will be wiped out because Elon wants another “X” into his collection, I’m no billionaire businessman but I think buying out one of the most popular modern online brands and completely renaming it for no other reason other than “I think it sounds cool” is absolutely stupid and just shows pure incompetency. If Elon wanted more “Xs” in his life he should have just gotten married again, from the sounds of what he’s like irl and in business, he can rack up a lot of “Xs” in no time!

i do enjoy twitter myself, i am a regular user mainly because i enjoy retweeting and looking at posts but also because i enjoy tweeting random things and i do enjoy that, i do like the fact i can put my feelings out somewhere. however ever since elon musk decided to buy twitter, i feel like twitter has downgraded a lot, from the fact that circles was removed which i think was a very interesting and cool feature to have on twitter as it meant you could still tweet to certain people without having to make a whole separate account, and when they removed the whole purpose of a blue verified tick on twitter as it was only meant for certain people, mainly famous people. what’s the point of getting rid of a function of twitter which made twitter twitter? also same with rebranding twitter? the whole point was about it being a bird and you’d TWEET things or RETWEET things, like that’s the whole point of twitter? it’s what made twitter like twitter? either way, i think the new block feature is kind of stupid, and also the opposite of what the block button is supposed to do? what is the point of implementing a BLOCK button which doesn’t hide that persons posts? it doesn’t make any sense. can you fix the app please.

Not perfect but maybe that's why it's so good. It isn't an echo chamber of the same opinion, so you will absolutely come across opinions you don't agree with. You may even get offended!!..But this is why it is the best we have. You can of course report anything that you believe to go against community guidelines and you can block or mute any accounts you personally don't want to see. Advert and spam Central.

Twitter. Yes, I called it that. It used to be a great gateway to reach others, get access to information and join in the debate on all topics.
Now, after every 2 random posts by people you don’t subscribe to or follow, you’re served with adverts which you can for the most part block, but now you have a lot more that you cannot block and if you click on the company name, it takes you to their site, which is just spam.
Also, don’t get me started on the bots who have nudes in their bio’s apparently, the pornographic content lately and even the good old fashion world of graphic content including dead bodies, far right nonsense or just racism that no matter how much you report, muskie boy doesn’t think it should be removed. Thanks Elon.
By the way, no matter the content of the advert, you have no say in whether or not you wish to see it as Elon has taken away that control for some extra change.
I hope Twitter goes broke and he sells it up to someone else who might take it back to how the birdie app used to be.

Barring services

On twitter if you see violence it’s ok , but if the violence is in written format or there is a prompt to violence it’s outlawed , unconditional random violence is acceptable .
In a war situation you can report from the war zone and be published , but you can only call for a reprisal attack if you are on the losing side . You cannot support the winning side by saying it’s fair . If you say the words level it you will be banned if you say words like it’s ok you will be banned . War isn’t cheap either but if you point out obvious glaring errors you will be banned .
My advice is don’t use twitter for anything but viewing violence if you want to make a point about an issue you cannot say it if it involves facts . I kid you not twitter and face book are the same . This post could very well be barred if someone decides to read it as hate speech . I didn’t say I hate twitter what I said was twitter encourages violence in one hand and with the other bars you from replying to it , if you say you agree with it you get barred . It’s a bit hypocritical .

Permanently suspended for no reason

My account was permanently suspended despite me not posting anything for 3 months. I appealed twice and both times was sent an unhelpful auto response. X staff members won’t address the actual reason why my account was suspended, and the site won’t allow me to create a new account, despite trying to sign up with completely new details. I’m a SW here in England where it is legal, and I believe I’m being discriminated against for this reason. However, I never posted explicit content, ever - not even nipples! Yet it’s perfectly okay for X to be full of hardcore p*rn & disgusting, extreme fetish videos. And in this sense X is totally unmoderated and typically those accounts don’t get closed down. “Freedom of speech” says megalomaniac Elon Musk; yet I and countless others have been permanently silenced, and not even informed of the reason why. Simply saying “you broke the rules” isn’t an acceptable response as it doesn’t help anyone to understand X’s decision. Because of my permanent suspension I’m now shut out of the SW community on X where I’d previously given and received much needed emotional support in an occupation which can at times feel very isolating. So, if you find your account has been randomly suspended don’t expect to be told the reason why or to be able to recover it. Customer Service is non-existent; therefore, the matter will never be resolved. I’d give zero stars if I could, as this has to be the single worst app experience I’ve ever encountered of any app I’ve ever used.

I’ve had my twitter account since… 2010ish? When people would make jokes, photograph their dinner, et al. Fun times! However I’ve realised that, since its name change, it’s gotten much much worse. The amount of propaganda from weirdos and lunatics, the crazy amounts of racism. And it’s all going unpunished now? Unlike normal sites that don’t let you scream the equivalent of “there’s a gunman in the school!”, well Twitter now does. Or X. What a daft name. X. It sounds like an “Fetish dating app”. God knows what happened to it. I don’t keep up to date with the ins and outs of the ludicrous foreign tech world that feels like it’s two groups: normal mature people versus the e- equivalent of thugs and hooligans. But check the privacy info on this here App Store page. Twitter/X wants to know your PERSONAL BROWSING HISTORY, your PHOTOS… and no folks it doesn’t just mean the location info on photos you upload to the site. “Data Linked to you” and “user content”, combined with X having access to your photo library (and having investigated with network snooping utilities) they have access to your entire photo library. Imagine some dweeb or even the head honcho(‘s?) at X getting chuffed off your babies photos, or any nudity for that matter. Unsettling. One hopes that the boss(es?) are the mature non-vindictive types that would go digging through their enemies bins at night.

Give us back Twitter

The last time I reviewed this app was to beg for Dark Mode. Now I’m begging for Elon Musk to relinquish his claws from this app and return to us the Twitter app we used to have. It is Twitter, not X; it is tweeting, and RTing, and liking — not Xing, and Re-Xing and so on. Stop trying to make X happen. And that’s not to even mention the drastic dip in overall quality that both the app and website have suffered as a result of this obsessive change: spam was a problem, yes. But under Musk, the problem has grown exponentially — with even ads needing community notes, exposing misinformation and blatant false advertising. The amount of fake likes and interactions are getting ridiculous, but Musk is so obsessed with His ‘X-ifying’ of the platform that everything else falls to the wayside. Not to mention his decision to allow many accounts deemed to be harmful to public discourse back onto the app/site. People may not have left in droves, but barely any of them subscribe to the notion of X, or believe that it’s been made any better from this acquisition. I just want Twitter back.

X has got worse since Mr Musk took over

So X (I really hate that it’s called that for a start 🙄) seems to have become full of spam bots now. They seem to take the form of ladies often of the Asian persuasion, with accounts that are just a first name like Alice or Clara offering me a date!? For one I’m not taken in or interested they are just annoying but two some others might end up duped into following them and clicking the link to get a date with a young lady ending up being scammed possibly? So I keep reporting and blocking. I usually get one or two a week, but in the last couple of weeks it’s nearly everytime I post something it’s liked by a lady bot!? That and I don’t get nearly as much responses to my posts that I used to. I tend to use my X account to raise important issues concerning how children are treated especially in education in the UK. But I don’t feel they are reaching the right people they where? Anyway there is some interesting stuff on there so it’s worth a look.

The app was fine as it was. Elon Musk has ruined it now. It's full of bots, trolls, hate speech and misinformation (just look at the replies to a post from any popular news channel and you'll see what I mean). I've seen a lot of racism, antisemitism and homophobia on X that I didn't often see before, and even if you report it, nothing will be done about it. The 'for you' timeline used to show me things that I'm actually interested in, like funny posts/memes, interesting facts, music, animals and photography. But now it's become so toxic and full of things that I'm not interested in, I can't even look at it anymore. It's now mostly depressing news, right-wing commentators, posts by/about Elon Musk, American politics (l'm not American), extreme political views, and people trying to get more engagement by saying controversial things or asking stupid questions. I also don't understand why the name has been changed. All it's done is cause confusion. 'Twitter' and 'tweet' were words that we all knew and understood, but X is just a letter that already has lots of other meanings. When I see X mentioned in the news, they have to clarify that they're referring to the social media app by saying "formerly known as Twitter." If you ask someone if they're on X, you'll probably have to tell them that you're talking about Twitter. Also, "post on X" just doesn't sound as good as "tweet". There's nothing enjoyable about using this app anymore, it's just toxic. And because I don't pay for 'Blue', my posts don't get as many views as they used to, even though I have over 1200 followers. There's no point in me posting things where they won't be seen by more than three people. I've deleted the app and don't often log into the website anymore, either. I prefer to use Instagram, TikTok and Reddit for the things I used to use Twitter for.

A shadow of it’s former self

This app used to be quite fun and balanced until the introduction of the ‘for you’ page and the ability to verify accounts through a paid service. Since the introduction of these two elements the app is essentially a celebrity/influencer focused mess where it’s impossible for your voice to be heard unless you pay. Replies are dominated by paid accounts who often farm views meaning they post low effort comments simply to gain views therefore eliminating any sort of meaningful conversation or info on the app. The for you page is also clearly favoured towards very questionable “influencers” and “news” that serves as nothing but rage bait. For the first time in my life i have had to actively mute and block accounts because it is so bad. I would suggest to fix the app but i honestly believe it might be too far gone. It no longer caters to people but rather entrepreneurs and news and i firmly believe in time it’ll be the app’s downfall. Remember to not ostracise 99% percent of the userbase next time Elon

Fascists claiming to be champion of freedom of speech

Although a lot of people will not say the truth about the app because Elon Musk is manipulating people who subscribe to Twitter blue and large followers with money. The app has already been destroyed by fascists. There are now a lot of people portraying fake news as freedom of speech for engagement and impression and when you do or say something that Elon or his worker doesn’t like you will get suspended. There are a lot of people who bought Twitter blue due to peer pressure and promotion of them getting money in return, but they have not gotten any thing back, some of this people borrowed some money to buy it in hope of gaining it back, what is the difference between this and gambling?. The app does not also want you to gain followers quickly because of the reason that they don’t want to pay you for impression, when they see that a lot of people are following you and you’re following back they will threaten you with suspension. When a small account dish out hate, threat, abuse and harmful conduct they will get suspended immediately which is good, until you know that Elon and is worker will not suspend anyone with large followers doing same thing. I will advice you to stay away from this app because there is a lot of favouritism and the owner and workers of the app are fascists claiming to be a champion of freedom of speech. Although it your choice to download the app for fun, to pass time and sometimes to know stuff that are going on around the world or for promotion of business, I will advice you to stay clear of this fascist app.

Pathetic change.

Branding is company commodity. Changing it in a minor way is no small matter. Completely replacing the brand huge, Elon Musk has become massively controversial. Anything he says and does is feul to the fire. His reasoning for making a money altering decision that affects Twitter and all who rely on Twitter is because he likes the letter X, he's changing it from an iconic brand logo to...the letter X. Just another in a long line of pointless decisions to drive Twitter even further into the ground. The twitter logo shouldn’t have been changed, It was cute and unique and they are changing the name and icon. If it's no longer called twitter, you can't call the posts tweets anymore. It was just a unique thing they had going and now he wants to change it to smth bland like X or whatever. Nobody likes useless change, especially when it's worse than original. Im angry at such a pathetic change. Mainly because Twitter was so iconic in the graphic design space for its branding. To see all that work thrown out to become a 12 year olds favorite letter is infuriating.

My opinion on Twitter

Its a nice website for socialising and I enjoy using it although certain tweets should not be seen by younger eyes yet I feel they are too easily accessible for children - pulling them from heaven into hell for committing the sin of lust. They should be children and stay as such until they are adults. Those feelings are a young boys slave thus they must wait until they are older so the slave becomes its darling. Although you your ave when you make an account, you can easily lie about this, for that matter I did it myself - I put no thought into it. I put a random date there as my birthdate and signed up. Sometimes I will also see certain posts on here that seem hateful to certain people such as gay, lesbians and ethnic minorities. Also there are things that may offend transgenders which I believe is bad but I myself don’t support changing your gender or anything like that. You should be what you are - not what you want to be. Thankfully, there are few posts that are like or encourage this, I only see the occasional one or two every time I use the app. I am going to give Twitter a four star rating because although its great for comedy, socialising and posting your thoughts with no censor, it can be quite a toxic environment which I think needs to be worked on to try and remove posts that could be deemed harmful or hurtful to certain groups of people.

Platform for exchanging views and learning together

I find Twitter a very useful tool to express views, listen and read about diverse opinions. It is educational when debates and arguments are civilised and based on evidence and facts. I support human rights of all humans of all backgrounds, irrespective of religion, nationality, gender , colour or greed. Completely non religious and despise racism of all its facets. Twitter helps me call out injustices providing I base my views on facts. Also Twitter provides a platform for saying sorry when you get it wrong, sometimes that happens. Twitter helps to showcase ideas, views and also establish relationships with people you will never see or meet face to face. I dislike it when Twitter suspend people unfairly, freedom of speech is wonderful thing, we should all cherish.I like it when Twitter allows different opinions and I like it best when propaganda and lies are challenged with no hurt to personal feelings. So thank you.

New update - public views

The new update… has public views for EVERY tweet and is just an unnecessary feature that is not at all appealing. A lot of the time likes have a 1:10 ratio to views, which just makes people seem like they’re being ignored all the time, it’s something that will make people self-conscious and overall create a less positive environment. People will post less art etc, in fear of being ignored, and others who share more personal things on their account might feel even more isolated to discover that over 100 people haven’t interacted with them or their tweet.
Twitter is a good place for socialising and communication but. I beg. Get rid of this feature or at least have a setting which allows users to turn it off (and I can assure I am not the only one with these feeling, I assume most people feel more negatively about it than positively)

Reinstalling a mentally unstable person whose tweets created a sense of danger to some members of a particular community is another example . I guess You have a right to an opinion even if it offends but you cross the line when it creates a feeling of insecurity . Is the bird actually free or have its wings just been clipped..

Hey, so I’m only new to the Twitter scene.
I only joined since Mr. Musk completed his purchase and was promising an end to censorship and to champion Freedom of speech and for some reason and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how the infamous picture of Joe Biden sharing an affectionate moment with his wife by gently nawing on her outstretched hand at a public event that I “tweeted” went against “community standards”..??
It’s a public domain image, photographed in public, it’s been published, it’s not been photo shopped or edited in anyway, it’s an actual real moment in time that just been captured by a photographer that was at the event..
Yet my account has been “temporarily suspended..” 🤷🏻‍♂️
What would be the reason that it goes against “community standards”..? 🤷🏻‍♂️
Particularly when it’s in the public domain and it’s been published..?? 🤷🏻‍♂️
It’s hardly “harassment” to publicise a public moment of affection between the president and the First Lady that’s already in the public domain is it..?? 🤷🏻‍♂️
I heard a rumour that Mr. Musk had cleared the house of the previous owners tyrannical attitudes towards Censorship, Suppression and infringement’s on Freedom of speech so that the bird could be free, is the bird free or have it’s wings just been clipped..?? 🐦🤷🏻‍♂️

Personalized tab on explore page

Is anyone seeing the “personalized” tab at the top of their Twitter explore page on the Twitter app which normally shows ‘for you, trending, Covid-19, news, sports, entertainment etc’
These tabs ‘for you, trending, Covid-19, news, sports, entertainment etc’ that shows on the explore page (search button) disappeared and what I am seeing now is a tab called personalized. And if I click on the personalized, it shows another option called “top trends”. I hope this is not a new update.
I am trying to remove the personalized tab so I can have the multiple tabs I listed above on my explorer page again but I don’t know how to do it. And this stupid change happened before I even updated my Twitter or my phone plus I didn’t change anything in the Twitter settings

Censorship

So many of my friends have been suspended and when I meet them on other social media platforms they complain that they’ve never been told why and never given any opportunity to right the wrong the did. One friend tagged all her friends into a parliament petition and was suspended. With many more people turning to alternative social medium platform, don’t you think it’s time to address this issue. Many people are leaving and joining GETTR and I’ve been told recently they’re not waiting to get suspended for speaking truth, they’re just leaving. Surely this cannot be good for the future of Twitter? And the restrictions on following people is an absolute nightmare. Twitter used to be a great space, but guys, it’s going to be an echo chamber soon. You. And I better, you have a great opportunity to leave politics to the politicians and just provide an opportunity for people to speak freely, within the rules of course. Do you really want an echo chamber, come on, please make Twitter great again.

Like watching a friend die.

I’ve been using Twitter for around 11 years. I had custom wallpapers, 120 characters, hashtags. It was a beautiful experience. I didn’t mind when they took the wallpapers away, because they gave us better headers, then they gave us GIFs, then they gave us 240 characters. Things were getting better and better.
Now? Now it’s boiling pot, filled with cancel culture, pro-racism groups, fanatical supporters of football teams, celebrities, and politicians, and has become the new patient zero of fake news sources worse now than Facebook was known for.
You cannot hide from sports, drama, scandals, and more. You can’t customise your experience in your trending area, and explore still force feeds garbage to you before you can see your actual interests.
The recent Spaces feature is already broken and filled with spam. Reporting accounts does nothing. Reporting hashtags that have become flooded with violent and misleading tweets does nothing. You cannot disable sports no matter how hard you try.
Twitter, I love you, but you’re on the brink of implosion. You’re going the same way as Instagram - an empty husk of your former self. You need to re-evaluate your priorities and business model or you’re going to collapse under your own weight.
If we could go back to before the Trump era of Twitter, things could feel somewhat peaceful again, but alas, that will never happen.

Does it’s job, but there’s a major flaw

If you are easily offended, Twitter is the app for you.
The app is easy to use. I mainly use Twitter to catchup with what’s happening in the world, updates for the latest movies coming out, and to state my opinion on the things happening in the world. This is where I talk about Twitter’s biggest flaw.
Twitter are incredibly biased towards left wing politics. Right wing opinions are essentially not allowed on Twitter. You should be able to state your opinion freely on any social media platform, but it’s become increasingly difficult to do so. It’s called freedom of speech, which has been thrown out of the window. Twitter will censor anything that doesn’t align with left wing views. Right wing opinions will be absolutely shredded apart.
Twitter has a very negative environment created by the ‘woke’ left who tend to get offended over just about anything. These people are incapable of having a mature, civil and respectful conversation. This is why the app has a toxic environment and is seen as a place to avoid by many.
What Twitter needs to do is stop favouring left wing politics and become impartial. Political correctness has to come to an end. So does cancel culture. It’s stupid, pointless, and run by the snowflake community. Twitter needs to allow freedom of speech, do more to stop people from nuking each other in the middle of a conversation and encourage civil discussion.
Parler is far better in terms of what it allows users to do. They are unbiased and allow freedom of speech.

Amazing app but had to reinstall ?

I love twitter, I’m a fan of a lot of kpop groups that are very active on social media. It helps me communicate with them and also fans of groups too but recently, I have not been receiving any notifications from anyone I turned my notifications on for? I tried logging out of my account and logging in but that didn’t work, then I tried turning off the notifications and turning them on again, then I turned my phone off and on again and thought it was just my phone acting up but the notifs still weren’t coming through so I have now decided to reinstall the app to see if it works. If not, I’ll most likely email twitter to ask why the reason is for this but it is not just me that has been having this problem there are a lot of others too. I hope this can be resolved quickly because it’s a great app.

Toxic community (Kpop stans)

Twitter was one of the apps i never payed attention to because I’m not the mainstream type and I decided to just not care too much about it but it was a source for updates on people’s lives unlike instagram with fake happy-go-lucky photos of the highlights of an exclusive life style that is highly fictional. However, Twitter has always been a place to be a playground for celebrities, yourubers and so many more influencers and this was the place where ‘cancel culture’ was born, like any social media, any community at all is toxic but Twitter is so dang special. People will actually form together to ‘cancel’ someone for something they did in the past that was racist, homophobic, transphobic whatever which is honestly an inhumane way to go about anything. Twitter has to get rid of these groups, specifically the Kpop stand as they are a nuisance to EVERY community on twitter and they are a bunch of very young teenagers who have no experience in arguing, problem solving or communication skills as a whole.

Loving the app!!! Just a few suggestions.

I love using Twitter!!! Such a brilliant app!! Just a few things I would suggest a few bits though. It gets rather annoying having to delete tweets only because of a spelling mistake or something like that, but whereas Facebook and Instagram allow users to edit their posts, Twitter doesn't have that option. This means that if I make a spelling mistake I can't correct it and I have to delete the whole tweet and start again. It would be really helpful if Twitter added an edit tweet option.
Also it might be helpful if there was an option to turn off the comments section on tweets, as some people may not want to see negative comments on their tweets, and I really don't understand why Twitter doesn't have that option, so it would help if the turn off replies option was added.

Terrible customer support and reporting system

Let me start by saying Twitter support is terrible, not only is their system for reporting underage pornographic material is very slow and hard to find- but the options for reporting a certain account for a specific reason are vague. Prior to the removal of Twitter DM reporting, I feel like it takes much longer to report someone. Not only that, but it is practically impossible to get one to one customer support if you have a problem that isn’t on their ticket report site unless you are either are a verified account or knows someone who works at Twitter. Another thing to note is that their age verification system after the COPPA law changes in October (Article 8 I believe) is terrible- its been around a week and I still haven’t gotten my account back. I had accidentally changed my region and it locked my out of my account and is now asking for my passport, which I submitted. Then, it said you need parental permission to join the platform, although the site specifically says you can join the site if you are above the age of 13. I live in the United Kingdom- and as far as I know, there are no COPPA rules for adult verification- only ones for those UNDER 13. However, I have no way of changing my region back to the United Kingdom as my account is locked. I have tried getting in touch with people who many know those who work at Twitter support but at no avail. Twitter needs to really work on their customer support and reporting system; it is terrible at the moment. Sure, the speed and efficiency of deleting and taking action over reported content has gone down- taking less time per report. However, I feel if you are going to do it this way, at least include an “Other” option in reports and support tickets for those people with a problem isn’t included in the list.

Used to be good, awful now

Twitter cares more about advertising and making money than creating a service that their users want to use. Algorithms are awful and show you people's likes and tweets from people they follow even though it's stalkerish and many people don't want that feature (and there's no option to turn it off), video player is still broken and has been for more than 5 years, and it forces you to show your timeline in their awful "Home" (algorithm-based) layout unless you change it to "Latest" (chronological), but it always switches back to Home after a short period of time anyway so you have to keep remembering to select Latest to use the app like how you want. I do not enjoy using Twitter anymore and definitely use it less than I used to as a result of these changes.

Great but not perfect

Twitter is my favourite social media application with lots of great features and is always adding more. I really love the recent update which allowed you to pin lists, but unfortunately it only works on some accounts. I’m not sure how twitter chooses which accounts are allowed pinned lists and which aren’t but I’m hoping it’s a glitch that is soon to be fixed. I also think there should be more in depth tweet filter settings, like an option to turn off everybody’s retweets at once, for people who like a clean, tidy timeline. Another I’d love to see is an option to turn off retweets inside lists because when I add someone to a list, I want to see their tweets and not other peoples. This is a feature in Tweetdeck already and it’s the only reason I use Tweetdeck when I’m not using Twitter, but I can only access it on laptop or through browser which is quite inconvenient.

Political bias and censorship

Twitter clearly has a political bias that leans left, and actively censors people on the right and centre for minor actions. Meanwhile leftists that tweet the most appalling things go unchallenged. The amount of tweets I see about ‘white people’ from far left activists that are left up and unchallenged by Twitter is beyond belief. You and I both know that if I tweeted the same thing about any other race, Twitter would ban me in the blink of an eye (not that I ever would, but I’m merely pointing out the bias here). Additionally, it’s funny how subjects of a very specific political agenda are the only things that ever seem to ‘trend’ on Twitter. Weird that isn’t it? The only explanations for this that I can see are that either Twitter users are 99% leftists, or that Twitter specifically ‘trends’ what it wants to trend. Twitter is the new public square in contemporary politics. Banning somebody is tantamount to suppressing free speech. Banning should only occur if somebody makes threats of violence. You and I both know that people have been banned for far less. Also, get rid of this ‘hate speech’ garbage. It serves nothing but the left and is entirely subjective. Who defines hate? Nobody should be banned for stating that a person is one of the two biological genders. Facts are facts. Facts trump feelings. If Twitter seeks to police feelings, then it will never be a place where real debate and free speech can occur. A little advice. Start rolling back these bias rules soon. Alternative social media sites are growing more and more popular because of the anti-free speech policies of twitter. If you wish to maintain your monopoly on social media, start becoming a place of actual free speech. If not, then I hope you are replaced.

Great idea, but too much tinkering and interference by Twitter techies

I choose who to follow, who to block etc. I have no problem at all with adverts as I can weed out inappropriate companies, and I get a free service from Twitter. That's all I need. What I DON'T need is Twitter programmers constantly trying to "improve my experience" for me by repeatedly re-setting my desktop account so it shows me trends/what it thinks are great tweets instead of a chronological timeline. (Yes, I know a timeline is chronological by definition, but Twitter staff appear to think differently.). Also, too much stuff going on down the sidebars. Hey Twitter: keep it simple, stand back and let us use the great thing you invented. Spend less time tinkering with the front-end, and way more time policing the legions of obnoxious folk who leave such ghastly, personal abuse for others hiding under the cloak of anonymity.

So much improvement

Twitter as a platform gets used by people for various reasons from current events to catching up with people, from education to politics, from entertainment to argument, from the recent movie trailer to Game Of Thrones spoiler, literally everything is possible on this platform simply because of the nature of it.
Personally I use it to stay on top of the news in the tech industry from around the world, and also express my views and emotions on certain things. Twitter is perfect for such requirements. It’s not as heavy and bloated as Facebook and you don’t have to sign your life away just to get on the timeline.
Over the years the app has improved significantly to the point that I don’t use any other third party clients anymore. Everything I want to do is possible on the official app. A job well done Twitter team. 👍🏼

Thank you Twitter

Twitter is far more than most people think. For me it has brought me into a community of wonderful caring people from all walks of life. There is no class system, all are equal. You could be chatting to a scientist or a road sweeper. Twitter is communicating in real-time, unlike the other popular social media platform, so you know there is nearly always someone there to talk to. There are many different clubs that meet on Twitter using hashtags to come together. There is support, both emotional and sometimes financial. Some who are socially isolated or housebound in real time feel part of a community, Twitter is their lifeline. Some who are suffering a personal tragedy or serious illness are supported and some can share celebrations. Some who are lonely have friends and those friends meet in real time ‘tweetups’. Lost or stolen pets can be publicised and sometimes reunited. Yes there are trolls and not everyone who uses Twitter are nice people, but the good outweigh the bad, and it’s easy enough to block them and to warn others to do the same. Twitter is so much more than you can imagine. Twitter is so much more than just a virtual platform.

Cannot change option to view sensitive content

I got the Twitter app today to help make viewing the pages of people I’m following easier. The problem is that I can’t find an option to enable the option to view sensitive content, and when I go to tap on the hidden sensitive content, it tells me to enable the option to view sensitive content by tapping on highlighted text reading “Change setting”, which supposedly takes me to the Privacy and safety account settings. The problem with that is that when I go to tap on the text, it didn’t do anything. It’s about as useful as tapping on normal text!
After trying multiple times to get my tapping to register on the “Change setting” text, I manually went to Settings and privacy, then Privacy and safety and scrolled down to the Safety section of the tab to find nothing. The closest thing I find to what I was looking for was the option to mark media that *I* Tweet as sensitive content, not the Tweets of others, and that didn’t help at all. Perhaps I accidentally/unknowingly set my age as lower than it really was, and it was blocking the option to view or turn on the option to view the sensitive content of others, but that turned out to seem a bit too complex.
Or maybe the option just wasn't coded into the app itself.
Regardless, I would really appreciate that this issue be fixed, as it’s doing my head in. Thank you a lot.

Twitter

I have been part of twitter sphere for many years.. however I deleted old accounts re evaluated what and who I wanted to associate myself with. So recently I came back and now I'm having the time of my life with the app.. I have a great community of friends all like minded and here for the same thing. To communicate, share and like one another's posts. I love that it's not all drama orientated and filled with people rowing over petty stupid nonsense. I truly have found an amazing community through this app.. the app has come along in leaps and bounds.. introducing many new features including the longer letter count. Enabling you to express and communicate better without having to edit your posts over and over again. So in all happy to be part of an amazing growing community and look forward to it growing and changing over the years.

It used to be a good app!

I used to use Twitter all the time, but I recently deleted it because I was getting bored. The app was just on my phone, left there and it was unused. However, a few weeks ago I downloaded the app, once again. I made a new account, figuring I would start fresh and try to get back into it. Unfortunately, it told me that I had been locked out of my account, after just a day or two of downloading, I was confused and I had barley used the account! So I gave it another go and made a new account, yet again, the same thing happened. I was getting frustrated and I was not happy, but I decided to give it one last go, as I really used to like Twitter. So I made a new account once again, and I checked up on it today, and there’s a message on my screen saying I’m locked out, once again! I really don’t know what was happening, maybe a glitch or something? But I’m not happy, and for that reason I’m giving Twitter a bad review👎🏼.
