Scanned several items as a test. Only found 1, higher end coffee (i like my coffee). I buy the coffee in supermarkets for £3-£4, the app listed it for $32.

Another useless app

Not much use in the UK
Clearly a USA based app, in the UK it will sometimes pick up and give an indicative price on some items but on far too many it just says “not found”.
More recently though it seems to have stopped working altogether, on my iPhone 11 it crashes immediately so I added it to my iPad, on here it opens but crashes as soon as I try to scan something.

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuse Meeeeee!!
This app suppose to scan the barcode and give me a price comparison of where I may be able to get it cheaper. e.g, I scanned the barcode for Bold 2 in 1 washing powder. It says £5.00. Showing online and Asda for the same price. I live in Battersea and the app is stating that the nearest Asda store is 6.1 miles away. And yes! My location is on. Tesco and Sainsbury’s also stock this brand but the app results doesn’t state this??

Will not recognise any bar codes !!!
Tried on several items we were interested in but it did not recognise the bar codes. So I tried my other app BuyVia and this recognised them all and gave other places to purchase from.
Will now delete this app as it a waste of time.

US application
I just downloaded this app and went around the house scanning items to see how much it recognised. It actually recognised most items. It immediately comes up with prices in US Dollars, then says scanning around the globe for prices near you. It’ll then display a price in UK Pounds …. but, in every case it’s a price from Asda. It’s not much good for price comparison, if it only gives you a price from one place. I can’t believe that Asda are the cheapest for everything.

Rubbish app
Rubbish app. When you do a search it says something like - searching the globe for the best price - but it only ever comes up with a price from Asda for groceries, makes me think that it's sponsored or funded by Walmart/Asda. It's deffo worth a thumbs down and deletion!

Constantly crashes

Does the job.
Allows you to compare prices from nearly every retailer easily. Better than red laser Just scan the barcode. Only downside is that there are adverts, but only a small one that you can barely see.

It's just for people in America!!!
I'm in the UK so telling me prices in Dollars is utterly useless to me. There is nowhere to be able to change this 👎.
It is set out nice and looks like it's a well made app, nice and clear, simple to use etc so for American users I'm sure it's great.
Maybe one day you will make a UK Version. It's pretty annoying because some reviews mention using it in the UK but others (including me) can't find anywhere to change the settings into ££'s.

With the collapse of 'Red Laser' I needed another reliable 'code scanner. A few out there but this seemed smart enough. Some great features such as notifications when a product you are interested in become available in a sale and you can sit and search through the app shopping even if you're nowhere near a barcode.
Only negative... all the listings are in $. That's annoying! When you scan an item you get a £ listing and location which maps too, which is great. Just a shame you can't turn $ off altogether?

The worst app I ever downloaded
The barcode scanner images appear on its side for some reason. It doesn't scan the barcode even if you manage to get it in the screen. Absolute rubbish. I would give it negative stars if I could!

Excellent App!
This app is one of the best I have in my varied collection. It's great, in that if you are dubious regarding the price of an item, then just use the Shop Savvy Bar- Coder whilst shopping, and you'll soon be able to see if the shop is charging "over the odds!"
It gives a list of prices relating to different stores. It's especially good at Christmas where you wish to buy that special gift ~ Pick the item at the store, quickly scan the bar-code, and you'll know if you are being overcharged! It'll give you a list of alternative stores where you are are able to purchase the item at a lower price.
Saved myself over £10 on aftershave last week whilst ravaging through stores looking for a particular brand!
Has a lot more than just a bar-code scanner and is well worth downloading!
I NEVER give 5 Stars, so well done to "Shop Savvy!"

Disappointed
Total rubbish.
I've had so many failed scans (i.e, it doesn't find the scanned product) that I've got fed up using it and deleted it totally from my iPhone. I used to have this app. located on the front page (home screen) of all my apps. which was quite privileged. Anyway, instead of just moving it down the list, I've got sooo fed up wasting my time with it now it's deleted and I will never download this app. again, shame because I thought it had great potential.

I used to like this app until it hit things so horribly wrong, eg Heinz baked beans being mistaken for a luxury three thousand pound bed !! And then after scanning the screen going blank and then continually having to type in the name of the product and having to take a photo of it then at one tone mocking up the product name with a different picture entirely . No great idea but it needs a massive overhaul . It seems that they are never going to fix the wrong image problem. I keep trying to correct and press save but its hopeless as it reverts back to either the wrong image that you corrected or comes up with another wrong image.

It is probably the single most amazing application in the app store for price checking and barcode scanning - scans super quick and is extremely responsive to the camera. Overall amazing, would definitely recommend this app to anyone, saved me £££'s.

Helpful app
The app is very easy to use is very user friendly and streamlined for user control. The only problem I have with the app is the user generated content when I find a product that is not in the software and I add it it do sent seem to save it but all in all I would give a 8 out 10 so I do recommend it to anyone wanting an easy way to find a product.

Impressive
Came up with results for almost everything ( except screen wipes but it still found a pic) much better than the other barcode reading app which only found search results for one item. Even when I scanned the barcode of my remote control helicopter it came up with the shop I bought it from!

Rubbish - AVOID!
This app has now lost all credibility. It is absolutely unnecessary to include a "log in" requirement, and in doing so the developers have created a nauseating and ineffective app. I am about to delete this rubbish and I urge viewers to avoid a download and look to the many alternative apps that do exactly the same task yet without the cheap opportunistic data harvesting log in included in shopsavvy. You have blown it shopsavvy - the prat who decided to include a log-in requirement has done you no favours whatsoever and needs sacking!!!

Yes not every product is known, but that's why there is an option to add products. Also there is an option to edit products and update local prices. I found it really good and I tried it out on a book I have at home with only the barcode on no picture it worked. I think it is much better and you can do it anywhere I think. I don't know weather u need the internet or not because I have it at home and that is the only place I have dried it so I don't know.I would also like to say it will be really helpful when u are in a shop so do get it and it dos not charge anything.

Like the fact that all searches came up in pounds not dollars. Local shops WERE local, but it would be nice to be able to set the distance... Most codes worked; those that didn't were obscure anyway that I didn't expect to. Nice program!

When I first downloaded this app I thought it was fab. Now I've come to realise that it's not as useful as I previously thought. Most of the things I scan comes up with a blank. e.g. We were shopping for a new 3D TV the other day and it didn't find any of the barcodes I scanned, whether it be in local stores or online 😞 so therefore I couldn't quickly find the best deal. I'll still keep it on my phone just incase though!

It's good does what it asked of. But even though it takes prices from the local area it still has prices form America and the deals are all from America too. Also it mostly only has prices from online not local stores unless it things like food. Overall I think its good and I like that you are able to search as well as scan which I mostly do.

At first i thought this application was great because it produces amazing results with good accuracy but when I contribute to items with missing pictures, wrong name or even a place that isn't listed on there and when I try to fix it, It crashes and exits into the main menu. Please fix it.

Works a treat
Tried this scanner on 20 products that were bought recently and all were found with links online. Older non registered bar codes are read correctly, but they don't take you anywhere which is what you would expect! For free this is a very handy app.

Good app but not comprehensive!
I love that I can scan almost anything with this app and it shows me prices in local stores and online pages. However, I have noticed that it missed out quite a number of online websites, sometimes some of the more common websites too! It does not show any listings from sainsburys supermarkets at all (UK) even when I scan items at home that are made by sainsburys. There should also be an option to compare prices of one type of item but from different brands. That would be cool! All in all, a pretty useful app! 2 thumbs up :)

Actually works and finds U.K. prices both online and in shops local to you. Quick to scan and prices displayed in ascending price order. Links to online stores make it quick to purchase the item you've scanned, if you want to buy.

Four out of five ain't bad!
Especially as only having this app for about two weeks. I see good times ahead, when money becomes more available after the Xmas splurge. Simply put: it works. I've had few obscure items unrecognised, but there again I was struggling too! I don't think anyone could be disappointed by downloading, so pull the trigger.

Good but could be better
This app is good but it doesn't mention any Sainsburys supermarkets even though they stock the item scanned. It then suggests that there are, for example, five local stores selling the scanned item (Sainsburys not being one of them) but when you hit the key to show you which stores they are, they only list one!
Unfortunately, this is quite a large part of the program which almost makes it unusable. The online lists are good so it's not all doom and gloom.
If this issue was addressed, it would be an easy 5 stars.

Really works!
This really is something special. Unlike similar apps this one gives you UK results. No problems with scanning either, ie you don't have to fiddle about to get it to read the barcode.
The only thing I didn't like about it was that I scanned a new game I'd just received and this app found it cheaper - gutted!

I would say that it is ok but it isn't the bet probably because it is a free app but it still does lots o different thin I have three reasons for why I do like it and three reasons why I'm not as keen on it:

•3 - the thing I really like about it is that it always comes up with the correct price and you most of the time don't have to fill on all of the information except from the barcode

•2 - also another thing that quite annoys me is that sometimes it doesn't read the barcode and they are really easy!!

I do realise that it will e holding a lot of data but it can be very dumb!!!
Back on the positive side it is a very good app for checking online prices for something!!

Mediocre
This app is supposed to scan a barcode and search for that same item in the local area, and online, in order to allow you to purchase it more cheaply.
Whilst I cannot fault this app in respect of its ability to correctly identify which product is being scanned, and it very prompt at finding the desired item online, it has however not yet proven that it is able to hunt the local area for the scanned item, as declared in the description on the app store.
In fact, the only results that came back were those of the shop in which I was already shopping, and even they prices given were inaccurate. This has led me to seriously question the accuracy and the overall reliability of this product.
I would recommend this app to anyone who wants an app that will tell them the item that they are holding. But, if you are after something that is capable of finding cheaper products for you, then I can only suggest that you try a different app.
As for the qr scanner, I can find no faults.

Nice features, needs work
I like the fact that it shows local stores (even in the UK), which is a feature missing from the other apps I have tried. The ability to get store details is fantastic. However the scanner seems slower and less reliable than the other apps (had some difficulty scanning a shiny label on a curved surface - nasty test but the others worked fine). Also when I deleted the only item from history I could not quit the history screen - the cancel button was disabled.
I would really like to see results from the big supermarkets in the UK..
Will watch this one with interest, once the niggles are sorted it could be a fantastic app.

Amazing
It may not have ever thing on your shopping list but is very good for pricey things! I like the app but what are the premium features? I like that you can add a product if it's not been listed or change a price (if it got cheaper or higher price). The deals page is excellent but not all for the U.K ( for example, "win $100 for every barcode scan"). The app is available for £ and $ (check your settings under more tab! Bye!!!

Really useful - once it stopped crashing
The bad: upgrading from the previous version left me with an app that crashed every time it scanned a barcode - kinda problematic for a barcode scanning app.
The fix: remove app - reinstall from App Store. Loses previous searches.
The good: it's a great little app; reads most barcodes quickly; lists are a nice touch; ability to edit/add results is an excellent feature.

What a let down!
Used this app loads before the update but now it's unusable in the UK. If it isn't crashing it doesn't get any results or brings them all back in dollars!!! What use is that to us British folk?!?
If you do happen to update, the old version will be in your recycle bin. Just take it out of there, click on it and replace the new version with the old version in iTunes. Then delete it from your iPhone/touch (if new version is installed) and then resync with itunes to get the old version back. Worked for me and am back scanning happily!

I purchased this app and it working well including showing in UK price. Negatif comment only for slow scan. I have to hold very still for a long period and the scanner very slow to scan. Bored after sometime. Please make it faster or speed up the scan.

A properly cleaver little app. I've been using it for a day or so now and it still amazes me every time I use it. Best of all it's free and so far, no annoying ads popping up every few seconds. I'm dead impressed. Keep up the good work, developers!

Maybe next time
The intentions of this app were great, but with the capabilities of the iPhones camera it didn't live up to much.
The majority of barcodes I tried couldn't be scanned or weren't recognised. This can be overcome by the manual input feature, but isn't something i want to do for every product I scan.
Better luck next time Apple, at least you at the ideas.

What a load of rubbish!!!
If i could i would give this app NO stars!!!!! It rarely reads the barcode and if it does It takes ages to to find the barcode. When it's finally found the barcode it doesn't even recognise the item and before you know it you've wasted 10 minutes. It would be ALOT faster and less hassle to just go to the checkout and ask how much the it is. Don't waste your time downloading this app.

For UK products this one is far far better than the other free alternatives. Latest version doesn't compare prices on everything you put in front of it, but most.

Now a great app!
The 1.3 version of this app running on the 3GS is now fantastic. It is SUPER fast at reading the barcode (speed was a big problem with earlier versions) and it is very suited to the UK market as it does seem to find a lot of local UK retailers and the cheapest ones at that.

Best free scanner I've seen
Have tried a few free scan apps, this seems to me to be easily the best. Is actually even better than a paid app I have, RedLaser. Does the scanning and local / Internet search job quickly and reliably. Recommended

Could be a five star app
I love the idea and the way this app works. Simple and fun to use but what makes this a poor app is once again the developer has no idea that there are any other places outside the USA. I have scanned 50 UK supermarket BRANDED products and not a single one returned the correct item. Come on guys there are plenty of free atlas apps you can use to see there is life outside the US. Please remove from UK apps store until it supports UK barcodes.
