Hello, great app but please can you fix the fact it needs to reload everytime you change page, back or forwars it is very very slow and unresponsive. The overrall content is great, however text commentary is definitely needed again.

Ever since they updated the app a few months ago it’s a real pain to use.

Often if you look at horse form it if you click back it takes you back to the home page.

Really really frustrating app to use the people that have developed this app have totally ruined it.

The app is not fit for purpose and all we get is FALSE PROMISES of improvements! Racing Post is now owned by an American Equity Firm and has many STAKEHOLDERS. They have rolled up and made key redundancies and are now asset stripping. They won’t be investing in the app and whilst offering hollow assurances! Action speak louder you CRETINS! They think they’ll sell it on for a vast profit.

Instead of moaning fellow punters, STOP betting via it. Our DATA is the most valuable thing to them. Carry on using for info but don’t log in!

Why can’t you at least streamline the cards and make it easier to read? You and the developers expose yourselves as complete IMBECILES!

Instead of scaremongering about black market bookmakers, why don’t you expose your friends the bookies for unjustified and bullying antics in imposing deposit limits without any warning!??

Yet More Issues!

Having uninstalled the app due to problems of freezing, I reinstalled it & it’s worked fine since Dec but yesterday it froze & has remained thus! Admittedly you’ve made some useful improvements, like the incl of p2p form but there are issues with missing weights, cluttered pages & too many clicks are required to get anywhere. It was easy to access everything seamlessly on the old app & now I’m back uninstalling & reinstalling & its not good enough.

Stopped using it. I could pick and bet selections easier and clearer in the old App style. It was fantastic. Have now given up with it, too many pop up questions and the app isn’t as simple to navigate. Annoying. Old app was perfect. Seems they want looks over functionality.

Would suit me better if always displayed best odds. If a bet has been placed through any bookmaker then display changes to show odds fir that bookmaker only. App also logs out of Bet365, SkyBet, Coral, and Ladbrokes after a few minutes. I’m giving up on in-app betting until these issues are sorted

RP App is a feast of info

There’s no doubt that the new RP app contains a lot of information. In that way it’s a joy, although there are times (especially when navigating between races in the same meet) that it stalls a bit and that can be frustrating.

When you have so much info at your fingertips it might be useful to have the capacity to select what criteria are important to you. At the moment you just have to dig. When time is short, getting to the point quickly is key.

In my opinion however, it is the best horse database out there, whether you use it to consult (like me), or whether you use it to access your ‘favourite’ bookmakers.

I loved the Racing Post App, in particular seeing the number of tips for each horse at a glance (and by what tipster). This has now gone and the app has become too cluttered. Please just revert to how it was - it was perfect.

Disappointing!

I have found the new app very disappointing. It is much worse to look at than the old version and seems to crash a lot. If it isn’t broke, why fix it!

Trying to get on with the app but it often crashes when watching video and seems to freeze. Only way to resolve is delete app and reinstall. Would be okay if the bugs could be ironed out.

The old app was much better . The new app /update doesn’t let you look at a race card once the result is in. This used to be a great app, but one issue i have is that it is developed for a phone but not an iPad… still a phone sized screen!!

To be honest i only use it these days to check cards and results as RUK and ATR provide much better insight and are less about the gambling.

2. Why do you leave reviews 4 years old praising and criticising the app- when that app doesn’t exist!!!

3. Your app is NOT the punters friend, always freezes, doesn’t allow you to switch from result to race card it goes blank. I have lost count of the times I have not been able to get a bet on.

4. When you are doing a bet just before the off If the odds change in your favour why the hell do you do a prompt for you to accept the revised odds, I could understand it if the odds reduced!!

5. I don’t think you will ever get this app right you have had the best part of a year to get it sorted and you have done absolutely nothing.

Unwieldy

Update might look better but app is now slow, unintuitive & difficult to navigate. Moving through the app is clunky & frustrating. I hope the numerous issues created by developers are addressed. Small example is the way the WH radio service is constantly interrupted by invite to view live broadcasts. Or why is the race class not included on results page? Maybe get advice from people who use it rather than design it?

Post race tips and spotlight and race info

The new app no longer allows you to review the post race tips and race info after the race has finished ,where previously it was available for that day ,it goes straight to result and next race for that course,The old app race info was still available to review on that day instead of now being deleted almost immediately after the race has been ran,Can the previous race information be left for review as was previously available.

Ruined what was once the best !!!

When the update came I thought oh well, I’ll get used to it. Functionalities should still be the same but unfortunately not.

To get to a actual race card takes an age !

Switching from race card to race card also takes an age !!

Checking results from the last race takes an age !

Checking results from previous races takes an age !!!

There’s just added animation within the app that is not needed at all! Just why ?

When the race goes off it used to show the odd market still on the card.

Also results don’t show you how the odds on that race finished in terms of the betting. which you used to do. As a punter is good to see if I certain horse was backed in or not.

Just spent a good Saturday punting some bets & left completely frustrated on how SLOW & CLUNCKY this app is.

Looks great tho 🤣

Oh yeah, you also have to select ‘tips & Spotlights’ tab & extended data each time you open the app on a daily basis !!! Again just remember my preference, why make me select it every day ???

Horrendous

Used to love this app and used it all the time. The recent update is horrendous. It makes you feel stressed trying to use it. Just the sheer number of clicks you need to make to do something simple is ridiculous compared to what was required in the old version. I’m trying to use the full racing post site on my phone instead. The number of clicks to get to where you need to get to is one of the key criteria for an app being any good. God knows who you used to trial these changes but it certainly wasn’t any regular users given to dreadful feedback on here and twitter. I think you need to have a Liz Truss moment and take the brave step and reverse the change. Like most others have said, I’ll be avoiding this at all costs, having previously used it for years and years. Big mistake…..

New version not visually worked out

There are a couple of good things on the new app (future entries is very good), but there are so many bits that are poorly designed. The actual cards / results combined is a good approach but it’s a visual jumble that is hard to follow. I don’t like that I can no longer see the summary and the form together. It certainly needs a lot of work to make it really usable. Looks like the developers have had fun making it funky without really thinking about what users really want

Terrible Update

I very rarely write reviews but felt I had to in the case , I have used the RP app for years and always found it the best and my go to for various reasons. I updated my iPhone and the RP app was automatically updated and I just do not know who would claim to sign this off as an improvement. It is terrible compared to the older version , too complicated , to buggy , too pandering to the bookies . It’s design is all over the place it’s just not enjoyable to use at all and makes everything frustrating. Sorry don’t like having a go at something I can’t do but surely you can see with all the poor reviews that something is seriously wrong with this new version .

Poor app

I will be totally honest, this app was the leading app within the industry and I just can’t understand why such a high profile company would allow its reputation to decline and allow its competitors to take over and in response to adverse reviews all we get is a patronising text book response, if I was responsible for your customer relations I guarantee I would reverse such adversity, it’s as if you invest in the app to collect revenue but not in customer relations, when you update your app why don’t you get a selected group of independent punters to trial it first and report back to you accordingly because I don’t feel the persons actually responsible for the app development are actually punters which is possibly why you are not advancing, i now use bet365 which is absolutely flawless and the only downside with them is it’s a minimum of 10p stake so it limits how much you stake being a responsible punter but compared with the glitches of racing post it’s now a minor, I used to really love the racing post app contents with its tips etc but you have just driven me to the point where I use your apps contents to place a bet on bet365 as they lack your contents in many aspects, should you get your act together I would be more than happy to return but that does not look like happening soon purely because you are not listening to constructive criticism.

Old version was so much better

It’s become an information overload. The ease of the previous version was perfect. Now it takes so much longer to scan over the races and pick out my likes.

The app almost always shows a refresh screen when looking at the results of previous races she doesn’t load up.

I can’t seem to find williamhill radio in this version.

Picking out my likes has become a massive chore. I used to use this app almost everyday. Now I find it unusable.

Dear Racing Post editors, just updated the app and the new version is far harder to use, far less use to all punters and obviously a backward step from the last version. There’s no shame in holding your hands up and admitting you got it wrong, and going back to the old version. Clearly your reviews are all telling you this and I can only imagine the responses to those reviews must be coming from the new version’s developers as they don’t seem to show any inclination to listen to the resounding thumbs down being given to the new version

New Update is terrible

The main thing I use this app for is searching for horses to see their form, when they last ran, where they ran etc and that feature is not on the new app. It does say “coming soon” but why have they launched an app before all the features are ready. Also you can no longer watch or listen to races live. The interface is busier and not as simple. It’s harder to scroll through cards. I have reverted back to using the desktop version as this app is dreadful.

Where I get all my racing cards, results, news etc. However the app has an issue for me. When I click on a horse and then try to view an older piece of form the app crashes. Wondering if anyone else has the issue and if so can you fix this please?

I love the app and use it all the time however adverts spoil the experience as the alway land on the buttons bar that allows you to access your account, result and news which is frustrating. I have no problem with adverts but they shouldn’t interfere with the function of the app. I am not prepared to pay to have them removed as I use the app to bet with which is the purpose of the app.

Live Text commentary not working

Since horse racing resumed earlier this week, the live text commentary is not working properly on the app. It starts off okay at the beginning of a race but then disappears and sticks with no further text displayed. When I click on another option, like racecard the back to the live commentary, the text is updated but this is not very handy when, by this time the race is often over. Live text commentary is one of the best features of the app so it’s very disappointing that these issues exist.

RTF figures for trainers.

When I enter your site on my laptop the race cards show the RTF against each trainer. However when using your app on my iPhone the same cards do not give this information. Is there any reason why the RTF figures can’t be included on the phone app? I would be most grateful if you would make every effort to show the RTF on the phone app. Many thanks. Frank

Punishes members of the racing post to cater to bookmakers

One of the most drastic cases of selling out I’ve ever seen. Considering it’s £35 a month for the top subscription, this app actually was a massive factor in me cancelling. The website is great, fantastic source of information, lots of detail, trainers/jockeys comments etc.. but with competitors stepping up their game, racing post is going the other way and this app is as basic and disappointing as they come. You’ll get absolutely nothing extra for your ultimate subscription, and have bookmakers thrown down your throat at every opportunity. The extra information you pay for in the subscription is nowhere to be seen and it’s painful to try and follow any sort of form using this app. I find myself using attheraces and racing Uk more than I use this app as I just end up frustrated. If the company cared enough to support the punters and paying members instead of supporting bookies then there wouldn’t be much reason to have their competitors apps but as it stands this is a dreadful and poor excuse for the mobile version of what’s a very strong website, by the supposedly leading name in horse racing

What an embarrassment racing post is!

This app is slowly getting worse, nowadays you can have the same trainer listed in a race yet his trainer stats differ How can you trust an app that cannot even manage to get the trainer stats consistent? jockeys on the front listing will ofter not appear on the second layer so you cannot asses their recent form, i have to go to At The Races to double check your information as its ofter wrong, please try to at least keep the information consistent and correct as is shouldnt be too much to ask from the racing post. Today when i go to race listing when i click on a horse to see their stats they are blank pages, nothing at all when they are horses that have run many times, so again no information, i shouldnt have to be here moaning about your failing app i should be enjoying the horse racing, your app stops the fun and ruins the day, well done racing post!

I honestly find this new app quite frustrating, to be honest. I keep getting kick out! The old app you had all the horses in the right order of betting prices, that doesn't happen anymore. Also watching the racing on Racing Post App your a good few seconds, behind. Your stories as well they like a novel. It's an app you should get to the point in a few paragraphs. Well, that's what I think anyway. Also, going through your website to have a bet. You don't get a lot of free bets. Should be key for punters. Just my opinion.

Stay well clear

Ever since the new editor has come in at the end of last year. The online app is horrendous. Clearly trying to point everyone to the mobile app which shows the horses position of past races, But not who they beat or got beat by. Clearly these people are subsidised by bookmakers. After all, Knowledge is the key to horse racing. But nah they've changed it so you have to click on every horses past race to find out. Why the hell would you deliberately make it harder?? I Dont use the racing post anymore. Its a shame as it was once a good online site.

Poor over 3G and 4G

Unusable some of the time over 3G/4G - get an error message when out and about trying to connect. Fine over wifi. Often resort to SportingLife for updates and much much quicker results. Plenty of work still to do here.

Brilliant app

This is a great app with so many expert tipsters who not only provide tips but also detailed explanations as to why they have chosen them, there’s also plenty on the news page like daily naps and market movers. My bookmaker is coral and I don’t even have the app as I can deposit and withdraw funds on this app as well as place bets. Brilliant app and a must have for any racing fan.

Has recently become a bookmaker feed app. Utter garbage.

Despite being a subscriber to the Racing Post website (“Ultimate” member), this app is useless.

You can not use the app after a short period of time without logging in with a bookmaker account to one of their 4 affiliate partners. Betfair trader? You’re out of luck. Prefer somebody who isn’t one of Paddy Power, William Hill, Coral or Ladbrokes? Nope, no good to you. You literally will not be able to proceed.

This was always a niggle with previous versions of the app, because it constantly pestered you, and the fact I could not get the form and pro card like on the website annoyed me, but I persisted.

Now it’s just a full on “give us affiliate fees even if you already give us £30/month elsewhere, or please go away”.

Even when you’re in, you don’t get the articles you get in their other app or the newspaper. In fact, you don’t get much: basic cards with no detailed form or video playback.

You’re better off not installing it and going to the website. Let this thing rot and perhaps get pulled from the App Store in the hope something better replaces it, perhaps from a competitor not so obsessed with bookmaker affiliate fees.

Very disappointing and makes me less keen on the brand overall. I’m sure I’m not alone.

Improvements

Overall good app but I would to see future entries on a horses data page. As with 2 year olds it gives an indicator of what the stable thinks of the horses ability. Also it’s nice to see when horses are entered for races and to see if horses that win are quickly entered up in the coming days. These futures are or were available online but not in the app.

I’d also like to see trainer and owners added to the results section aswell as an option to see when horses have changed trainer or owner.

And on the greyhound section to be able to look at greyhounds form and look at individual form and races of each dog.

It used to be a very good app, it now crashes more often than not. The landscape view where one could see the whole racecard was great I don’t see the point of removing that option to give the user the exact same view in both portrait and landscape. The biggest gripe I have is the View race tab has become very temperamental and non responsive, since the latest updates I’ve missed watching loads of races because the tab would not work.

Was a great little app...

But they couldn’t leave it alone. Now it crashes every time you try and go back to it, so you have to reload it from scratch every time you move away from the app. Plus the layout used to be really user friendly, easy to move around and compare things. Now it is really hard work and everything takes a while to load no matter how quick a connection you have. I used to use this app for pretty much all my betting requirements, now I’m on the verge of deleting it. Really bad work from the developer.

Updated App is Garbage

Absolutely awful update now means that you can’t see a race field in its entirety and instead have to scroll through the runners from top to bottom whether using portrait or landscape view (don’t even get me started on the advert at the bottom which takes up a fifth of the viewing space!). Please restore the ability to see all the runners in any given race in one go when using landscape. As ever, something that wasn’t broke has been ‘fixed’ and made worse. Totally infuriating!

Frustrating

Generally is a good app but since the last update it has become annoying when having to refresh the results page by scrolling right to the top to “pull the screen down”. Perhaps a refresh button can be created that you can use on the results page that alleviates having to scroll up to the top every ten minutes.

It has lot of information and has basically all you need to know! But maybe instead of having the name of the race then all the time maybe only have the places and when you click on them then the times and names coming up on show to save time scrolling through everything and missing the different races and make the places of the race bigger so it’s easier to tell between races

Good in most places

Great app for on the go. Couple of annoying bits. It randomly looses your betting account which stops you getting in really annoying if you can’t remember the details also the search function is poor if you’re looking for jockey or trainer details

Feature missing

The race card summary which used to appear when the phone was tilted 90° is sadly missed. Had you kept it, I’d have given 5 stars. It needs to be brought back as a quick flick through the race cards was so easily done with that option and now it’s forcing me to flick through every race from top to bottom.

Great asset to racing fans

The latest update has improved this already very good app. Now features better form and no scrolling back up to get to next race. FAR more stable than it was. Did prefer easier access to Angles, but that’s just quibbling. Never use the website now if I can help it. This is so much more user friendly. Thanks.

Updated version is weaker

I had been using this app for quite a while and it was really useful and straightforward with well laid out information on racing cards and markets.

On this new version one of the features that has been removed is the whole race at a glance when turning the phone to landscape mode. This used to show all horses in the race with all details of No. Name, Trainer, Jockey and weight. For some reason on the new version of the app this has been removed. Please add it back in and it will be a 5 star app again.

Some good improvements but also some changes the decrease functionality

The upgrade gives a clean well laid out look. Especially easy to navigate between different races at the same meeting and really like the way it use easier to pick dates. The changes to the landscape view mode are VERY POOR and in my view a retrograde step, before you could switch to landscape mode to get all runners in the race on once screen, you can no longer do that, it’s almost enough to make me regret upgrading.

Latest update is a downgrade

Latest update makes the app worse than it previously was. Worked fine before, easy to navigate through especially within the racecards. Now it takes six button presses to do what the old app did in one. Also hate that the landscape view has been removed, nightmare when there are 40 early entries in a race and you can only see one onscreen at a time. Used to use this app frequently throughout the day, finding myself using it less and less. Please go back to the old version!!!

New update has made it worse

Each update takes a bit of getting used to and the one that proceeded this newest update was excellent. Everything you could want from a racing post app. Unfortunately this new update is terrible. It makes things much harder and takes a lot longer to look at the info you want. When trying to scroll through horses it seems to pick and choose which way it goes about it and not in the order you were expecting. It was nicer to see all the horses fully when you rotate your phone to landscape, now you can just about see one on the screen. Very disappointed with this new update and only two weeks before Cheltenham festival. Please sort it out

Excellent Update

The only app you will need for horse racing has got even better. No need to come out of a card to get to the next race with the new feature of having the upcoming races along the top. Can’t think of many ways to make it easier.

Use it everyday

Very informative but could be just a little more intuitive as sometimes it crashes. Bet History could be listed better like on the race card screen it could show what bets you have placed as currently you have to go back into Bet History and they aren't listed in order there. Unfortunately after the most recent update your winnings don’t immediately show up where your balance is displayed, this is annoying, even when you go into Bet History your winnings amount isn’t shown here either. You have to physically scroll down to see any winning bets.

I do all my bets via this app. Has so much great information.

However.. after the last update it constantly crashes. Usually when I scroll to the bottom of the front page or if I put it in landscape and go to a different meeting after that.

Easy to use and full of information

I have used several racing apps and this is by far the best. Other apps are full of tips and skimp on the racing details. This app gives you the important up to date information together with the background details which is all easy to navigate. Excellent.

Handy app

Great app to have on the move :-)) sometimes a little slow but otherwise very good site for all your horse racing meetings. Can’t access tips unless you log onto a bookmakers account found this annoying. Found the site was much better beforehand the update. Well done Racing Post.

Cool.

Everything you need to make your mind up.

I never really liked having to scrawl through the print edition because it was full of other carp I'd get bogged down in and frankly it costs an arm and a leg. Unless of course you want to get a free perusal of said rag by wrestling the communal copy from one of the hoboes in you're local bookies...

Another thing is this app is integrated with a variety of the main online bookmakers so you can choose which company benefits from your squanderings, and of course you can also get some kind of price comparison by switching between those accounts if you just happen to be signed up with more than one of them.

Nothing else really does the same job either so it's definitely worth having for free. Kind of like having the blueprints for a days betting in an app.

Overall it's a good app. Get it if you enjoy a flutter.

New update

The new update rather than improve it has impeded this once brilliant app. Too much information has resulted in far too many crashes and feel this is getting too much for a phone and needs a iPad or laptop to benefit the vast amount of information. Being a user of this app for many years I have embraced every update but this is a backward step sadly
