We all know that every dating site is fighting a battle to only have genuine profiles - Zoosk is losing this battle. Only a daily basis I get 5-10 “carousel matches”. Go to look at the profile and it no longer exists. The app is riddled with fake profiles.
But the scamming doesn’t stop there. Cancel your subscription and all of a sudden you’ve got messages and matches, but you can’t see them without paying. So you pay, make contact and find out “your match” had recently cancelled their subscription too.

Seriously need to work on their pricing. Most of these dating apps are just money grabbers. Tinder's top tier of pricing is £39.99. Zoosk's lowest tier of pricing is the same. One of these is definitely not like the others. Wouldn't mind it the lay out was any good, but it's not. Overhaul drastically required.

The App keeps locking out. On average it’s about 3 times per week which requires a phone re-boot on each occasion. When it is working it forces certain responses (a bit like a rigged survey where the author only gets to hear what they want). Even after paying to join there are additional incentives which cost money to get additional features that just shouldn’t be additional. Overall left much feeling this is more about money making Ghanaian a real opportunity to introduce you to someone who might be compatible. Once my current subscription ends that will be me done and the app deleted. I shall remember Zoosk unpleasantly.

The cost of this app and it’s delivery are very poor. Don’t be fooled by fake reviews this App isn’t VFM - £31pcm for poor app development and some rather poor profiles - no thanks I’d rather pay for some other “sites” for less and more thrills!
There were approximately 40+ fake accounts that were reported, same photo 15-20 different accounts under the photo, multiplied by 2-3.
The ad function, carousel and Smart Pick are buggy, app freezes and gone no response from the server and then the app crashes.

I paid for a trial monthly subscription of 30 £ not knowing this was a lifetime engagement/contract I was signing myself into.
I only used the account for a week because the dating site was full of perverts and then deleted my account.
A month later another 30£ was deducted from my credit card. Even though I had deleted my account the money was not refundable. I was so lucky they only took 30£, the plan was the amount of 179£ to be deducted on the following month, and each month the money would increase.

The main problems I found were;
- Too many fake profiles
- The app provides fake views, so you think someone is showing interest in you. Mostly this is the app trying to stimulate conversations and completely misleading.
- unless you subscribe (I did) you won’t be able to see messages. As soon as my subscription expired my Inbox suddenly had 10+ messages! It’s fake, don’t get tricked into signing up unless you want to message people first.

I thought I would give this site a go, signed up for the free version and to start with it seemed ok. Obviously, as with most of these sites, you can’t do very much unless you pay, but there seemed to be quite a few genuine people, and I’d had several emails telling me I had messages, so after a few weeks I decided to pay for a 6 month subscription so that I could read them. I then realised that most of the supposed messages were actually just love hearts, which is apparently what happens if you click that you either might or would like to meet up - I only found this out when someone sent me a message asking if I’d sent him a heart on purpose or was it one of the automatic ones! I assumed it was confidential and just added them to my list, not let the other person know that I might be interested. Soon after my subscription started the site started to play up, crashing every time I tried to read or send a message, freezing when I tried to view the “carousel” etc. I asked customer services for advice and got meaningless replies that made no sense. Around this time my laptop broke, and I decided to replace it with an iPad. Since then Zoosk won’t work at all, won’t even load either on the app or website. I get lots of emails telling me I have messages but I’m unable to read any of them. I’ve emailed customer services yet again but haven’t even had a response. My subscription runs out at the end of this month, and I doubt I’ve had more than a couple of weeks’ use of it. I thought maybe it wasn’t compatible with the iPad, so borrowed a friend’s laptop to access it, but no, it just doesn’t work. So as you may have gathered, I’m not impressed at all.

I have been on and off Zoosk for 3 years I still have connections from 3 years ago even though they were blocked. Zoosk is supposed to delete your profile etc once you deactivate your account that is BS too. I am not paying a subscription again because it’s too pricey and hard to get out of.

I asked them if it was possible to extend our membership times because of the fact that we couldn’t get out and meet people - the whole point of the app, right? They told me that I could put my account on hold for a while - thus breaking contact with anyone!

I didn’t like this app. I’ve done POF, tinder, eharmony, etc. I felt this app was the least intuitive of them all. There is also annoying placement of pop ups in the mobile app (do you like this person: yes or no), which blocks the message so that you can’t read it, or select the picture to view the profile. Goddam annoying. You also can’t see who you liked, or read the full profile or see more pictures in the carousel. Overall it’s ok I guess, but with some very obvious design flaws. Not buggy, but then it’s not cheap so I wouldn’t expect it to be. I wouldn’t use it again.

For me this app is awful. Somehow I was guided to pay right away. I’ve never replied to a message because it’s all so confusing. Some profiles you can open, some you can’t. Some photos you can enlarge some you can’t. You’re asked if you are interested in someone and all you can view is a tiny thumbnail photo. If you can’t navigate an app in 5 seconds then it’s failed. I still can’t in 5 weeks.
Please explain to me what this app is trying to be and to whom?
I’d rate this app ZERO stars if I could. Everything is locked behind a pay wall!

Shortly after joining this app I discovered almost every feature was locked behind a pay wall and was then expected to pay £30+ per month just to have the basic option of reading the messages I received.
The way this app is monetised is tantamount to a scam. I feel like the only reason it exists is to cash in on the dating app market and exploit as many folks as possible.
Sure other apps like Tinder and Bumble have features that they charge for.
But they don’t lock everything apart from swiping left and right behind a pay wall.
This app also denies people to add additional contact details.
If you don’t pay them they edit out any and all contact details so users can’t contact you outside of the app.
You can’t share your snapchat.
You can’t even share Instagram posts.
This app is practically totalitarian and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!
I would also definitely encourage people to avoid it entirely.

If you are planning on using this make sure you are willing to pay for it because you get to do nothing for free other than set up a profile. You can’t talk to people and you can’t match with “smart picks”. Not sure what the point is if the only thing you can do is see other people’s profiles and let other people see yours. Even when I subscribed it just doesn’t seem to take into account anything you put in your profile. Total rip off

I was scammed using this site. luckily only my pride was affected an not my bank account!! Was sent a ❤️from a lovely early 50’s man, widow whom was very attentive. But things didn't add up! he asked if he could cancel my subscription and wanted my login details. We also swap quickly to what's app.
Luckily I rang him and this where he slipped up the man that answered was a young Asian. Please be careful it's right ”if it seems to good to be true it most probably is”!! Not everyone on here is verified. And people can be be taken for thousands of pounds.

Zoosk looks good initially. However, you can call it cheeky or clever, but it asks you to sign up to “read a message” from someone you have smiled at. So you sign up, then go to view messages you have received...but it’s so obvious it’s a computer generated response. It’s not actually from the person at all. By then, it’s too late and you have paid for however months you signed up for. Really sneaky way of taking your money! Not really genuine or impressive in that regard, so be warned 👍🏻

Please Zoosk why send dishonest messages on the behalf of people, why make dishonest views on behalf of people who haven’t actually viewed. I know you want to make money, but with a better user experience, people will spread the word... Carousel always suggests people hundreds of miles away, always, so how does your algorithm work. Maybe offering free read receipts so people know the message has been read, some people are not abled to respond to all messages, just small changes to make it better. But fake messages and fake views, dishonest!

I been a member of zoosk for the last few weeks and boy what a waste of time ! Majority of the members are not full members and can’t even msg you ! All u get is - now tell me more - I was a member there 6 yrs ago and I met over 15 young ladies in just one month ! It’s all change now and it’s all about making money for zoosk ! I am cancelling my membership without delay ! Another thing there are lot of ladyboys (transgender)on the site- got nothing against them - but I am there to meet a lady and not a transgender ! Tried for several months, what a waste of time and money.
Views, views and more views, mostly auto generated. When contacted most viewers didn’t actual view my profile.
When unsubscribed get loads of views and messages, these then disappear once paid up member.
Put any rubbish in descriptions, it really doesn’t matter people don’t read it anyhow, most on this site are window shoppers.

Sorry, the app is very slow to the point where it doesn’t open. I’ve created my profile, it was easy and fast and in the same day it slowed down to the point where I can’t open it.
I got messages that I can’t read because I haven’t paid for the membership ?! Strange. Anyway, disappointing, I’ve been single for a while, now I decided to go back to dating and this is my first try 😂😂 actually it’s quite funny now ;) great start 🤣🤣

This app is a scam, I read the reviews but thought I’d look for myself. Really don’t bother!!There are plenty other free dating apps, Tinder, POF or Bumble, that are a million times better.
I didn’t pay for any of the in app purchases so couldn’t send or see messages! Completely pointless app. The worse thing? You can’t even delete your account, you can pause it but not delete! How Apple are letting this in their App Store, I have no idea. We should all complain, get it removed.

This has to be the worst dating app I’ve ever experienced. Despite me setting filters stating that I wish to meet a non-smoker someone within a 50k radius of my home. I regularly had men living hundreds of miles away from me coming up on my stack. I’m looking for a new relationship and realistically it’s not going to happen with any of these. Additionally I absolutely hate the fact that you inform men that I want to meet them when all I’ve done is viewed their profile.

Just updated to latest version which looks pretty good on first look, however when I get sent a match I can’t see where they live!!!, what’s the point if you can’t filter the distance your matches are from you?!. Lovely to make connections but it won’t lead anywhere if you don’t want to travel loads!. Can we have this?

It says you have taken an interest in someone just by scrolling through photos. If I wanted a 60 year old I would have asked for one. I have to filter just to get somebody who is the right age bracket but by doing this means that the right age bracket can’t even see me!! Waste of money and would not recommend. Wouldn’t even give it one star but can’t leave feedback until selected. Cancelling subscription if I can find the right place to do it, even that is a mystery!!!!

I was getting loads of messages as a non member saying I had 80 messages ... so I thought ok it’s pretty expensive to join for 30 days but hey ho that why I’m on a dating site trying to find a genuine person to be my partner... so I paid the money’s and then opened the messages .... there was not one message ! It was an automated message reply’s from women I’ve winked or sent a love heart to... ha ha , so it’s a con to get you to think ooo I best reply to those messages...
nope... it’s a trick to get you to part with your money’s ... one more thing , it tends to find you in your local search .. people who are over 200 miles away ... it dies a local search as the crow fly’s and not how long in distance away the person is really via driving via roads ...
so Shane they can’t use google maps from your post area to there’s ... not using a direct line over the sea etc.. as I live in north Devon I tend to get on a 50 mike search .. people who live in Wales ...
I’ve text a few people on here and they all say the same ... fake messages, distance is not accurate.
so I won’t be renewing my auto subscription.. cancelled that the very next hour after finding out all my messages were done by Zoosk ..

I was enjoying using Zoosk, made quite afew connections though hadn’t actually met up with anyone yet. I paid for a month , then suddenly after 10 days when I went to pick up messages etc it said I had to answer questions to confirm my identity. I clicked on continue and no questions appeared, just access denied. I tried loads of times and just got access denied each time. Same the next day . I found the 2 phone numbers to call and tried all different times of the day. All I got was this number is temporarily unavailable. I found the link to customer support- guess what happened when I clicked on it - access denied! So it seems they are impossible to contact directly to sort anything out and I gave up , which is a shame as I’ve lost all the contacts that I made . I called Apple support, they were very helpful and arranged a refund. I am very disappointed. It was going so well to start with but ended very badly. And it’s a shame that I’ve lost the contacts I’d made , mid conversation in several cases. A total waste of time.

I hate this app and I still don’t understand how on earth they are No1???!!!
Firstly it’s not free, you cannot even see messages, you have to pay.
Secondly, I wanted to cancel or delete the account. Well, when you go to the account settings it’s only gives you an option to pause the account. Nothing else. Although on their FAQ it states that from account settings select account status, then select edit and select deactivate. Guess what, there isn’t an option to deactivate the account, only to pause.
I hate when i am told lies!!!! If only I could upload some screen shots to proof.
Sham on you, Zoosk. I think GDPR doesn’t bother you at all. I will try to find a way to complain further to relevant instances.

They try to get you to rejoin by sending fake messages.
When your membership runs out you can still send a smile to other. You often the get a message claiming to be sent by them. This is a complete lie, scam and rip off to get you to join up again. You pay your money only to find these messages to all be the same, saying things like a message would be nicer.
Finding out that these ladies haven’t contacted me at all makes me mad and zoosk has stolen my money.
Zoosk I want a refund.

What is this carousel thing? You have to say whether or not you like someone with absolutely no information about them except their age and their picture. You get a few profiles to read each day but they disappear as soon as you either like or dislike them. All this after paying for membership then paying for messaging then paying for ‘coins’. Seems like an expensive waste of time and money.

I wish I’d read other reviews before paying out. This dating app hypes up everything. They manipulate the views by telling you people are interested when they’ve merely looked at your pic, which the app have generated for them to look at, and likewise they send you pics and then tell them that you've viewed them.
It’s dishonest in the way it runs, and the profiles they match you with are miles & miles away from where you live!!
Waste of time & money! They won’t be getting anymore from me.

I have to agree with Tony’s review, expensive and very disheartening. I’ve just reviewed how many messages I’ve sent and I’ve sent a lot only to be completely ignored! What a waste of money! I consider myself an attractive woman who looks quite a bit younger than her years anyone would think I was an ogre. I don’t know what people are looking for but it certainly isn’t a genuine loving relationship. Oh and get rid of the wink and heart thing, apparently it’s lazy and would much prefer a message to read and then ignore! Don’t waste your money!!

The most overrated and inflexible dating app around and it’s not cheap. Full of idiots and after a while it’s all the same people. Simple things like favouriting or remembering who you’ve spoken to isn’t possible. They will also delete your sent messages so you’ll have no idea who you have spoken with. You also cannot search for people in a specific region/area but I guess that gives the illusion that there are more people than there are. I have seen people openly say they are 10 years older than they are on their profile and they looked it. You also get contacted by people of the same gender as you even when you’ve stated preferences. This has happened to other people I know on the site. I could go on.. can’t wait for my subscription to expire! Lastly why update this up every other day when there’s been no new features. It’s as rubbish as it’s always been!!

Poor customer service....got my name wrong on their reply...you have to email them and they can take up to 3 days to reply....that’s soooo handy !!
I kept getting notified of received messages....clicked on them to find no message. Told people want to meet me only to discover they’ve only clicked on your photo on the carousel. I have messaged people on the site, but no thanks I don’t want to pay about £3 to see if they’ve read my message. I suspect that by the time you actually find your match and arrange a date....you won’t have any money left to take them out !!!

I understand everybody wants to make a buck but not all can commit readily,especially over a committed term that renews automatically.
Cut the auto renew. Give us some freebies to reel us in, ie... see& reply to first time msg,scroll down smartpicks & open without having to love or write off before seeing the next person. Give us the chance to pay an instant minimal fee, say £5 for a short period to experience a connection through these scary websites!!
One night just to see what you can do to change our lives could be profitable & tempting for both sides???!!

I didn't have anything to lose so thought I'd sign up to this online dating app. Well I feel like I lost!
Just seems like an algorithm is running in the background to find the most elaborate way to make you give away your hard earned.
Starts with you getting views, lots of views, from profiles with a single photo and the bare minimum info. Your Interest is piqued. You sign up so you can message people. Get no replies. Views slowly drop off. You get encouraged to send gifts (at a price) and to see if anyone you messaged has read it (at a price). You get multiple views from the same person so message them. They actually message back and tell you they had been deleting you from their viewed you list. Delete in Zoosk = another view notification for the person being deleted. End result is now have no trust in this app whatsoever.
The carousel is pointless. Nobody is going to like someone on a thumb nail photograph alone.

The app is not too bad. Sometimes there are issues when it takes a while for the messages to show up, and there have been instances when messages are duplicated. As regards the site it’s pretty average. If you approach this type of thing negatively you will attract that back. I have not come across any fake individuals yet. The one problem I have is with the Carousal feature. You cannot see where the person lives, so you could be choosing who lives miles away from you. If your profile or messages reflect negativity, you will not attract the type of person you want to be with. You need to be upbeat and positive. Hope this feedback helps

This site is appauling. How can you ‘like’ someone from a carousel of dreadfully small pics when you don’t know anything about them, such as distance. seriously?!? No one receives your messages. It says people have viewed me, but they are the ones that I have viewed myself. Very expensive and people who are not members cannot reply to you. Complete waste of time. Also, what is the point of the interests section? You cannot click on any personal interests. It’s so awful, please don’t bother. The whole site needs a rethink.

I am very happy with this dating site, it is expensive and they do try to fleece with you unnecessary things like tokens to give ‘gifts’ - but that said I matched with someone pretty much straight away after he and I ‘liked’ each other’s profiles and we hit it off straight away, it is easy to use and the privacy settings are perfect. My only annoyance was purely the price of the membership and that you can’t do a reasonable priced rolling one month membership

I don’t think this date site is even worth one star, it’s fake and expensive and Iv just cancelled my subscription within the 14 days. I thought I would try it again as I went on in the summer, I met a couple of women and remained friends with two so it’s not all bad, but the site is fake and gives you the impression your getting loads of views and tells you somebody wants to meet you when clearly they don’t they just viewed you! I’m no brad pitt but I’m not ugly and everyone seems to think you’re a player and a pervert who wants to send dirty messages, well I’m not but obviously there is so many people like that on there it has ruined the date site and probably other sites to, i mean we all know there is sites just for that type of thing so why go on a date site that is meant to be for meeting someone special, anyway rant over I give up, I’d rather just not bother and stay on me own at least I’m not frustrated by a fake dating site!!

As per normal - another site with fake profiles, women whom complain about disgusting men, yet have no interest in contacting the honourable 7-8 out of 10’s.
If they do, they’re hundreds of miles away with limited info on their profiles. It’s another baiting system to urge you to cough up. The only question is how gullible one is to spend money. I urge both men and women alike don’t fall for the scams. Unless you look like a model - the rest of us are never going to get success from these shallow, superficial people. After trying many free apps and concluding none of them are worth my hard earned money - it might be worth going with a reputable dating site or the good old fashioned way. Quite frankly I feel these less scrupulous sites are collectively damaging dating. Anyone whom reads this, you’re beautiful okay and do not allow these tyrants to damage your self esteem.

This app would be good if you could filter out anyone who doesn’t have a profile that’s been photo, Facebook and phone number verified....in the number of updates there have already been for this app why has this function not been introduced?! Probably because these fake profiles are quite handy to ‘pad out’ search results and make it appear to be a much more popular website than what it really is!

Have to honest about this, I've been on zoosk for a while, and they do con you - if I cancel my sub, then it's like I've got ten messages, so I subscribe again and suddenly I've only got two messages ... strange, huh?
Second, the sub is a bit of a con, I did mine for one month and got charged for six months -- try and contact zoosk to talk about that, and you're up against it.
Last word of warning, cancelling is really really difficult, especially if you do it through iTunes, it takes forever and the info zoosk give you is misleading ... you been warned!!!!

This site appears to be full of fake profiles. When you send messages, there are no acknowledgements, you are invited to pay extra for every quirk including to find out if your message has been read. I've been getting messages from total mingers who look like they have been in a train crash and whom I have never viewed. They are all also outside the search perimeters that have supposedly been saved. Then when you delete, they keep coming back. Rubbish. Paid for a month subscription, will wait and see if any of the so called "profiles" respond - but I'm not holding my breath. Will not be renewing!!!
