Scam - pay and they will charge you again

I previously paid for the pro version of this app as a one-off upgrade. Without warning they downgraded the app to the basic version and now force me to pay a monthly free just to get the features back I already paid for (to sync my contacts!). Absolutely disgusting scam - complained to Apple so hopefully these developers can be banned

Lost all my data

The old version of the app will be not updated, saying the the developer needs to update its application. I can not open the app and think I lost all my database. 😡

Not really for iPad anymore

Used the old camcardHD for a long time and found it useful.

Forced to upgrade as no longer supported on the OS. But this new version seems to be unable to support landscape mode, which is the way (most) people use iPads.

Does it work otherwise, maybe but doesn’t seems as easy. Hopefully it will get better.

Tolerated the issues till I could not export

Well started well and although a >50% rate of correction I could live with this as I could export to my contacts on outlook. Sadly unable to anymore without a fairly pricey monthly subscription for what it has to offer. So I reluctantly will stop using and provide a not so good star rating

Contacted by the company to suggest the background was poor. OCR is not the issue. I bought the Pro version a while ago and now I am expected to pay an exorbitant monthly fee to go beyond 500 and export to outlook.

The app was initially available for free or a pro-upgrade with a one time payment.

The pro app was quietly dropped and the company bullies you now to buy a monthly or yearly subscription.

The subscription model would have been ok if that is what the company would have sold right from the start!

It is a shame that apple supports such scams!

Why do I need an account?

I want to scan business cards and save as a contact locally on my phone. I don’t want online storage of my critical and personal info.

Needs Attention

I loaded this app in order to store a drawer full of business cards. What I was expecting was speed and accuracy. I have to say that the scanning process via my iPhone 8 is pretty hit and miss and the scanning accuracy is rather poor. I cannot recommend this app without some urgent upgrade to both areas.

Used this app off and on over years. Always likes the principle but frustrated by the inaccuracy of the scan.

My latest iPhone refused to use the app and when I looked up CamCard on the App Store it didn’t update but loaded a new application.

When downloading the App the specification gave the impression the upgrade is a one off payment, when you attempt to upgrade it becomes a monthly payment, a culture I refuse to join. There are other products out there - CamCard deleted. One star

I used to love it

Are used to love this app, however what time he has become quite on stable. Every single time that I try to scan tour three business cards application automatically gets closed, to the point that now is imposible to have it open for enough time to even press save without reviewing the data. Avoid this App

This one was so poor quality vs all the seemingly five star reviews that I felt I had to write a warning note to others. A few things to flag: OCR functionality is very poor so expect to have to rekey a lot of information, the app quietly lets you scan in cards but there is an upper maximum at which point you are compelled to pay for a subscription, contact names are arranged by first name which is completely bizarre and very user unfriendly, the app is deliberately set up to encourage users who no longer wish to use the product to leave all their contact details - no easy way to delete profile from within the app or the website. For such basic functionality these must be a better solution out there, don’t be fooled by all the positive reviews.

Recognition needs improving

It’s a great app, but inconsistent in accuracy in deciphering the printed text on business cards to an irritating level at times - particularly when scanning lots of cards in, like after an exhibition etc. For one or two scans the after scanning editing one needs to do is not so bad, but when going through a pile like I did just now, the need to re-edit so many fields is annoying - to a point where o think it would be quicker to just type in new Outlook contact records. If anything it’s got less reliable since the last software update. I am very careful to line the camera up as square to the card as possible but so often I look at what’s entered in fields and think ‘what on Earth is that?’ So it’s good as a tool, but could be better. But... it’s free. So... 😊

Somewhere along the way they seem to have switched to new app. Opening the old one doesn’t tell you. But it keeps crashing, if you do anything else, but signing up!!!

Can’t use an app that destroys everything every few years, if I’m not constantly watching out.

Can’t find how on their website. “contact us” links don’t work.

A real gem!

Upgraded to the latest version, loaded the App, entered my log in and password, a minute later all my old cards were imported. Seamless and trouble free. On top of that the App is a real gem, I scan cards on receipt, that often opens a new conversation with my new contact and helps build the relationship -works best with fellow technophiles!

No point in positive reviews

Positive reviews on the apps performance may be unintentionally misleading. The app works fine for a while creating false confidence. I like many others stopped keeping the original cards. But on the company’s past performance all your data could be lost on an IOS update. Then no matter how good you thought the app your information is inaccessible and the company moves on to other interests. 5* reviews are then worth zero. As Apple have complete control of the App Store it is something we would expect them to helpfully rectify, unfortunately this is not the only app to do this to Apple customers

Stealing your money and losing your data!

I bought the previous pro version before iOS 11, then they simply created a new app with same name, look and features and I lost my subscription. Not transferable which means my previous cards are lost, too!! The previous app is not working anymore! And of course they dont reply to your mail. Scammers! Apple Store should kick them out. I am going to escalate it!

Photo Sizing

Automatic sizing of the card after taking the photo is not very good. I often have to take the photo several times before I get just the business card without half the background in the picture. Works fine on the iPad, just not so good on the iPhone 7.

I lost all my cards saved over 1 year

I have been saving cards on this App for the best past year. Although I had updated it regularly but all of a sudden became unstable making impossible to retrieve my cards. On the other recommendation of a friend I assumed that the cards were stored under my Apple ID so I deleted the app and reinstalled by to my horror I realised all my Cards had been lost. I started putting new cards but today has started doing it again.

I would definitely not recommend this App at all .

Best Business Card Scanner I've come across

Great app. No complaints so far. Would be good if it offered a bidirectional sync with Microsoft Outlook. As far as I can tell this is only one directional, i.e. It can update the Outlook information but changes made in Outlook aren't reflected back in the CamCard contacts.

Lost All My Cards!!

I have upgraded to iOS 11 and the version of CamCard I had unbeknownst to me (no communication from CamCard) has now moved to this new app. I have tried moving my cards over but the original app crashes and I can do nothing with it. I contacted support to see how I can move my cards over and they advised to go into the original app (which crashes) or try different emails in the new app and sync which has produced zilch!!. It’s been s few days and they haven’t come back to me. The moral of the story is whilst the app may be fancy and work fine for you as soon as there is a problem they will possibly ignore you and you could lose your data. This has taught me to keep physical copies of cards as backup.
