iOS 13 problems

Started playing this on iOS 12 and since upgrade game opens in a small screen in the top left, with no sound.
I was enjoying. Don’t seem to be able to find anywhere to ask the developers on their website

DOESNT WORK ON IPHONE 11!!!

I recently purchased this game on my new iPhone 11, looking forward to the nostalgic game and exciting storyline. However I am unable to play this game due to the bad placement of the WHOLE GAME SCREEN. When I enter the game the ‘screen’ is on the top left side.
Please resolve,

Wow!! Superb!!

I was so sad when I finished this game; I enjoyed this immensely! As with all The Broken Sword series, this is superbly written with just the right level of challenge and a hint system if needed. I love the personalities of the characters that unfolded and the dashes of humour and sarcasm. Such a well made game that gave me several hours of entertainment. I really hope there will be more episodes, as sadly I’ve played them all now and can’t wait for more!

Great game but..

Excellent game, hours of fun but the controls do not respond efficiently. I have to press the screen multiple times in order to get a response, this really slows down the flow of the game.

Controls not working well on iPhone 7plus

This game is great and it is amazing to see it in my iPhone.
Sadly the controls are not optimised. It would not respond on a single tap and on many occassions you have to tap the screen constantly for the game to respond. It is extremely frustrating.
I am going to give it another go but if it does not improve, I will have to get a refund for it.

I first played Broken Sword in my teens. I took away some amazing memories from that first play, the exquisite scenery, incredible characters and challenging puzzles. Now 33 I'm back again for a third try. It's the only game I have revisited all through life. Incredible.

Great game, however on an iPad on iOS 11.3 it crashes on Broken Sword version 2.0.5 which is weird as the other two, Broken Sword 2 and 5 works perfectly fine. Please could you fix this? Thank you!

Fantastic adaptation of the best game of all time

I used to play the first two BS games on my friends pc whilst I was a kid we would spend hours stuck trying to get past certain points. Such a brilliant game with a fantastic story! Amazing characters and hours of entertainment, somehow improved again with the transition to IOS touch screen. You'd be a fool not to buy these games for the price they are! Relive the wonder! One of the greatest games ever!

When this game was first appeared on my radar in 1996 through one of the many gaming magazines of the time, I begged my father for it and I was not disappointed.
The story was great, the puzzles were great, the graphics for the time were good, and it took so much of my time, also this is around the time also that walkthroughs were not so easy to come by, so many hours were invested in this game, if you ask me also, it was hours well spent.
This new/old version is equally just as great, and worth investing in. I showed it too my wife who said ‘I won’t like it, we like it different types of games’ - she is now currently 12 hours in and loving it.
Treat yourself, spend the money and enjoy this great piece of gaming.

Great game, poor iOS app

With Game Center and Dropbox support both as dead as the Knights Templar, it’s no longer possible to share saves between iPhone and iPad. Disappointing new after gifting this classic to a friend.

Even better than the original

I would say this is better than the original on the PS1 for the simple reason it’s easier to play with a touch screen device. The game itself is identical to the original, with a few scenes added which enables you to play as Nicole on a side quest.
If you were a fan of the original I would highly recommend.

Probably the best adventure game ever

Broken Sword benefits from excellent writing, superb music, top quality acting and beautiful, hand drawn artwork. I'm a huge fan of the series and regularly play them on my MacBook and iMac. Having Broken Sword on my iPhone is brilliant. A fantastic conversion

One of my all time favourites

There aren't many games I haven't played and I can honestly say to this day Broken Sword is one of my favourites. Characters awesome, story awesome, revamped graphics awesome, goat puzzle .... My only criticism is the re-scripting of certain scenes from the original, why would you ruin Georges opening line like that?! Still, epic game.

Brilliant!

I played all the games on PC. iPad is an excellent addition. I am about 10% into the first game and cannot fault it so far. The graphics are every bit as good as the original PC version and the game runs, saves and loads faultlessly.
I will update this review as I proceed.
I have now finished BS1 and it is a triumph! It is a pleasure to play and all the controls work seamlessly.
Highly recommended.
On to BS2 now.

One of the best games ever

I played broken sword around 10 years ago (I'm now 26) and at the time had some help from my Dad to solve many of the puzzles. Now I'm looking on this game with great nostalgia and really enjoy the edited version which includes the new narrative of Nico (hurrah to a joint female-male protagonist!!). It has been remastered nicely to play well on a small decide with an easy click and point feature. It has been made easier by the option to reveal hints, but I guess you can choose not to use them.
This game,e was super when it came out and has stood the test of time with a great story line and a real sense of fun. The graphics are really special (games aren't made like this any more which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I am so glad there is access to one's like this as well).
It has run smoothly throughout with no software issues.

Still great

Classic point and click. Still good, tricky and funny with added tips if u get stuck. It's probably 4 & half stars, let down slightly by playing on a smartphone, the screen is tiny and some points are too close together, plus every time you check your log book it goes back to page 1 - ok at first, but annoying when you want to look at page 19, having to flick through them all. Still worth your cash.

Nostalgia helps

The game gave you enough playing time for the money but puzzles were not that challenging as in most scenes you could only interact with things you need for the quest which made some puzzles quite obvious. Story was good and kept you interested, characters tried to be witty - at times annoying. Game play was slow as the characters took their time moving from one scene to the next, object interaction was simple (as you could normally only interact with the object you needed) making things a bit easy. You can tell from the graphics this is an old game but it has its charm. I think some of the other reviews are from people with their nostalgic specs on, me however as a new player think £3.99 per episode is steep and won't be buying into the franchise although it's a good game there are way better out there.

Best games ever

Broken Sword are quite simply the best games ever. I've played them since I was a kid, again and again and again. Like your favourite books or movies, there's just something so comforting about replaying Broken Sword. Here, the director's cut of the first one brings new puzzles, new storylines, and additional intrigue to the classic. Amazing. Love it.

Still prefer the original to the Director's Cut

Broken Sword is, without compare, my favourite game of all time. Its blend of historical intrigue, clever puzzles, gorgeous hand-drawn graphics, and witty (if lengthy) dialogue made it one of the finest adventure games of the 1990s.
I think I've played through, and completed, this game in its various iterations on most platforms it was made on. I first played the Director's Cut on the Wii. This is a direct port; the Wiimote controls edited for touch-screen, but otherwise unmolested. Dave Gibbons, an artist I fell in love with through his work on 2000AD, improves upon the lush originals with his distinct inking.
Whilst I love the Director's Cut, I feel the extra scenes bring nothing new to the table. I think the game was more powerful with its intro opening containing the explosion. Carchon's death doesn't have the same impact. George, too, is a more rounded character than Nico, and should have remained the lead (I find his wit more enjoyable than Nico's sass). Also the newer puzzles have a distinct 'bargain-basement iPhone app' quality. Whereas George needed to retrieve a stolen toilet brush in order to get a military-grade taxi working, in the Director's Cut, Nico has to unbolt a door with an old slide-puzzle. It's not necessarily lazy, it's just that the puzzle has been done before, many times, over the years.
This game is one of the most influential elements of my life (hence why I'm the first to review it since 2011), and has been instrumental in shaping my perception of what a cracking game could be. I just wish it was the original, as that was untouchable.

Classic Favourite

From PlayStation demo to iPhone it is always one journey I love to play. I don't care for high score mobile games like candy crush. I love hours of gameplay that continues to evolve and develop the story as you progress and this game is one of the few mobile games that provide just that.
