Great but. I audio on clips.

It’s great for keeping up to date but only problem is no audit on video clips. Tried everything, deleting-reinstalling, it’s not on mute and volume is shown as up but still no sound. Audit on other apps (BBC etc) working fine.. bit of a mystery..

Edit my feed ? Useless

Why not abolish this “feature”? It is useless as every time I removed feeds I don’t want - they magically reappear again shortly afterwards - totally unworkable
And contacting RTÉ about this doesn’t help as except for the automatic response - they don’t bother fixing it or respond to emails asking when it will be fixed

Brilliant app for news

Great app on iPhone. Kept well up to date with live access to RTÉ News Now channel anywhere in the world. Alerts are a bonus and really quick with breaking news.

Update fail

Have not been able to use this app for weeks. I had to update to the latest release and since then the update message appears every time I launch the app, even though I am on the latest version. Really poor and disappointing as living abroad, I used this app all the time.

News / Hone page

Seems this page won't load since the last update, at least nog on my iPhone. Other pages load big much slower than before. Such a shame was an excellent app. Hope you find a fix soon.

Don’t update!!! Can’t open this after an update

When I opened the app today a box appeared saying the app needed an update. I had no choice but click okay. The update downloaded but when I tried to open again the same box appeared. I’m now stuck in a loop and can’t open the app, even after phone restarts etc.
NOTE... The app support button is just a webpage saying how great the app is, no actual support or help for when advert comes it fails.

Efficient and full updates.

For a person living in the north, this site is a highly useful, concise and pretty immediate source of news and comment. Reporting seems full and fair and, for me, involves efficient and full updates. Overall, my comments would be positive and affirmative of content and analysis. Go raibh maith agaibh go leir!

TV GUide

You do not publish a TV guide on this app though you do have groupings for Sports,Entertainment etc. To get an idea of RTÉ programmes, the main web site requires activating.
PS. Ray D’Arcy is a disaster get him off RTÉ. His spoken language is often not decipherable.

Anti northern.

Their journalists have an anti northern bias. Treat us residents of the six counties as if we are foreigners and outcasts. They need to educate there "journalists" soon

RTÉ has got it right!

This app allows those of us in foreign lands to keep up to date with Irish news. It plays a significant part in my continuing relationship with my home land!
I may have been away for what seems like a life time now, but this app helps to keep the home sickness at bay. Thank you all and best wishes for the future,

The best way to stay in touch with Ireland

Although I left Ireland in 1963, I still feel the need to know what's happening there. Once upon a time, this necessitated somebody sending a copy of The Nationalist, or the Longford Leader. The news was welcome, but always out of date.
The RTÉ app on my iPad means that I have up-to-the-minute news on all that is happening at home. Fantastic!!

Love it, considerably more informative than the BBC and I love all the extras, culture etc. Unfortunately living in the UK I can't avail myself of the events but it is nice to know what is on etc. I also love Lifestyle with the recipes.

The sports section feels like it's been produced by a child. You can't find a fixture list for the GAA to find easy access to match times. Don't bother

Conned by third party spam in app

Very slow

Advertising a pain

An app or an Ad?

This app is ruined by the ads it contains (particularly the pop-up one).

Good but improvement needed

A good selection of stories from RTÉ. An issue with iOS 8 is that the app crashes when you press the back button from within a story to return to the previous section
I couldn't see anywhere to advise the developer of this issue so hoping they see it here.

As you can see from the other reviews this was already a poor Ap.
The ads were annoying, and now it dumps.
I appreciate RTE doesn't have a lot of cash to spend on Aps but a trainee mobile developer would do better in their lunch hour.

Terrible!

Have been using the old App happily for months. Sorry I up-graded as the new one doesn't even open on my iPad any more.

Worst iPad news app

I don't know who designed this app but is is not at all user friendly, the old app was much better and gave a very good overview of all news sections on one page. Absolutely terrible.
