Crashes picking date

Has useful info but scrolling is weirdly glitchy. When you click on date picker it crashes, making it unusable.

Ok but crashes!

The app is ok but every time you try and search by date the app crashes and kicks you out! Surely that isn’t meant to happen? Also why no option to save your favourites? Would also be great to see if parking is available /suitable for motorhomes as there are so many on the road these days

Needs log in

This app is kind of pointless, just go to the website as at least you can log in there. I’d like a digital option for membership because I loose things, the card, and then I can’t go until I get a new one.
The one thing I do like is how quick it is to type in the property you want to visit to check what’s open that day. I’ve checked on a few occasions where that was good to know as saved us trekking over to find that out.

No membership card

This is little more than a digital version of the book, with a few more bits from the website.
Where is the membership part, the digital card that makes this anything more than putting the NT website into an app.
7 years ago there are developer comments saying a digital card was on the way, clearly not.
All I really need is to be able to have my QR code so I don’t need a bit of plastic when I want to get parking.

Could be better

App is ok but lacking function to favourite places I’d like to visit, searching for events is clunky and there is no option to view membership card in the App which is fairly basic request these days. Needs an overhaul.

No access to account

I wanted access to my NT card as I had left mine at home. I have found it extremely frustrating that there isn’t an option to add to your NT card to your phone wallet. I have all my loyalty cards, debits cards on my phone and rarely take my wallet out with me. This surely should be an option!!!

Not yet there

Why can’t we log in to our account using this app? Also why can’t we add our membership cards to Apple Wallet etc? We still have to rely on a physical card. Finding info on the properties etc is excellent but it’s not at all helpful to members. It’s more of a marketing app than anything

I’m running iOS 16.07.10. So should work. It was working. But now the app crashes after 2 seconds. Have deleted and reloaded the app, no difference. Have tried ‘reporting a problem’ but doesn’t work, the drop-down list doesn’t include my problem.

Disappointing

Considering NT status as UK flagship heritage charity, this app is not as good as it should be. For example, opening calendar dates give no indication of whether a property is open that day without opening individual dates; emboldening would make this clear. Another example are events which frequently give blasé and ambiguous or confusing details of dates.

Why no member’s card??

I’ve been a member for more than 25 years and have huge respect for the work the NT does, but this app falls short. The fact that you cannot store your membership card and put it in your phone’s wallet is a massive inconvenience. I’m a pensioner and use a senior Railcard…on my phone…pay for most things…on my phone. Sometimes I go out without a wallet and find it frustrating if I don’t have my card with me. Surely this isn’t an impossible task if the railway companies can do it. Come on, please sort this out. Many thanks, yours sincerely, grumpy old git.

PATHETICALLY INCOMPETENT

NO MEMBERSHIP CARD ON APP. For at least 7 years (read the reviews) NT have been promising to include membership card on the App. “Top of our wish list”, “Frequency requested”, “In development”, “Should be next year.” Can’t they get someone competent to do it.

Why doesn’t this app have the ability to store your membership card for scanning on entry

This app is very very dated, the national trust waste £1000’s on handbooks and magazines and printing membership cards when it could all be stored on the app and cards printed only for those that need them at a small cost.

Good, but limited

A helpful app to pinpoint national trust sites near you or plan a visit in advance. However it is very limited to only this. Would be great if it you could save or favourite destinations, and add your account (in 2025 you would think this was a given - being more sustainable and accessible than plastic cards)

So disappointed at the removal of the My Places & other features

Using the My Places feature was the main reason I used the app! To bookmark places I’ve visited, and to also star or favourite the next few places I wanted to go. Now it’s just the same as just using a search engine for a list of information. Please bring it back!

Used to be great but has gone backwards

The log in feature has gone, and with it the ability to favourite/star/wishlist properties, or mark as visited etc.
What’s the point in having a digital on the go version of the NT book if you can’t bookmark places you want to go (eg if you’re planning a trip to a part of the country you don’t know), or if you can’t check off the places that you have been to?
At least as the most basic app function, allow users to add a digital version of their membership card and add it to their wallet?
When browsing the map if you jump away to a different app (eg notes or what’s app) on your phone to cross reference something else, then upon return the map has dropped all your filters and zoomed you out to the full UK. When you’re trying to text someone a list of 4-5 options to go to this is really annoying!!
Used to love this app, but now struggling to see the point of it.
For my upcoming weekend away, I’ve actually decided that opening the NT website in my browser and having multiple tabs open at once of the places I’m interested in, is preferable to using the app.

Good app, but one huge omission

I like the app, so a 2 star rating might seem harsh. But the simple truth is the app needs to better support the members like myself that pay an annual fee. I’d like to see special offers for members in the app (free cup of coffee vouchers?) but the big ‘miss’ is the lack of a digital membership card. Remembering a card is a real pain, why oh why can’t the card be digitised in the app? Disappointing.

Ok but

I find the app useful for what it does. But I think the filtering logic is not right. When I want houses or parks with EV parking, I want a map of sites that have houses/parks AND EV charging. What it seems to give is a map of ALL houses and parks and also ALL other sites that have charging.
Also to be able to filter on sites that also have a café or restaurant would be very, very helpful. obviously the intention should be for the filter to exclude sites they do not have café or restaurant. just as the EV parking filter should exclude sites that do not have a charger.
There seems to be no info in the app about the EV charging – you have to go to the website where it is listed under facilities . It would also be useful to know which company runs the charger, as there are so many, each requiring different ways of paying.

No card on app - poor for a company that believes in preserving history and promoting green ethics

We have been lifetime members for years now. But after all this time and technology, that haven’t deliver a virtual membership card. Stuck in the past

An app for the National Trust could be a great way to attract new members — but this app feels a bit ‘stuck in the past’.
If the app has been updated, it certainly hasn’t gained any new functionality since it was probably first launched and largely is a wrapper for the NT website and relays similar information.
Features that would make the app better:
Ability to manage your membership
Digital membership card
Digital magazine — you’d save a fortune printing and posting copies and allowing people the option to turn on/off paper copies
Digital tour guide — if you could listen to an audio tour of an NT site via the app that would add to the visitor experience
There’s a lot of untapped potential but if feels like this app was ticking a box on a board’s 5 year plan — “we need an app” — with little thought given to what value it would/could add to NT members.
In short, it needs an overhaul.

Its 2024 it could be better

Repeating my review from 5 years ago! Still no card option on the app which is really really poor. What is the point of the app? Does nothing that google cant so its a waste of space on my phone.
I never carry my wallet (like many people now). No need. Pay and use my phone for everything. This app has the ability to sign in so why no phone based membership card? Your missing out on parking meter scanning and its a hassle everytime I go somewhere and they have to look me up. If I carried every card I was issued then my wallet would be a 30litre rucksack.

Has got worse , now just online version of the book

I have rejoined National trust after a couple of years away. I downloaded the App with trepidation, perhaps we now have digital membership cards, interactive maps - who knows what the creatives at NT will have come up with.
Disappointed, it actually seems to have gone back in time - it has lost the features such as showing you places you have visited and allowing you to tag places you wish to visit in the future.
Why am I still carrying a paper membership card ?
Get with the program NT, you either move forward or disappear. In this digital world, staying stubbornly analogue with not even the basics my supermarket app can offer, is a big disappointment.
MonkfishUk
Version 4.3.24
2024-03-18

Used to be good, now hopeless

The app used to have personalised features such as membership card and the ability to mark places to visit on road trips & remind you where you’d already been - useful visitor data for the Trust to assess relative popularity for future visits. (Well, useful for any competent large membership organisation in the 21st Century)
For well over a year the app now says:
“ Due to a major upgrade of our internal systems, My National Trust and the My Places features are no longer available. “
Either their IT department are the most lazy & incompetent you’ll ever encounter (I had major issues 2 years ago attempting to login to their website to amend membership details, forcing me to wait for *literally* hours to speak to an apologetic by clearly frustrated CSA, who was very liberal with her opinions of both management and IT) or they are simply lying and have no intention of “upgrading” anything.
Trust Management: fire everyone in your IT team and outsource the whole IT infrastructure to a professional contractor.

For older people by older people

It’s pretty obvious the National Trust is lacking a younger, more forward thinking team. They’ve recently rolled out parking ticket machines nationwide that are unable to scan a barcode from a phone screen, which is why, I suspect, they’ve STILL not produced a digital membership card, which this app should offer. Its the ONLY card I have to carry with me. The app itself offers nothing over the website, especially now you can’t login and bookmark places. I mean it’s okay but pointless.

Version 4.0.3

Limited function

As so many others have remarked why cannot you link the card to the digital wallet in your phone ? If you want to encourage the younger generation to join then use smart phone technology which is what they use. My cardboard membership card after 6 months old is looking the worst for wear. A digital card gets over this, as well as less chance of me misplacing the thing. Do not try and use the patronising excuse that “old people cannot use this technology” I am in my late 70’s and all my contemporaries have embraced smart phone technology to make our lives easier
Gertie1899

Used to be better

This App used to be great. You could compile your list of all the places you had visited and all the places you wanted to go. It was a great App! When they removed this feature, it took away the main reason for using the App and became rather basic. It’s still handy to have, however. If you’re away from home, it can help you get some perspective on which National Trust places are nearby to you.

Not quite good enough

This app has decent info on the properties.
But… PLEASE!! as many people have said, add the functionality to add membership cards to the app!! We’ve just had to turn around halfway to a property because I forgot to pick up our cards…
I know in the past you have said some members don’t use smartphones, and this is why you haven’t got this in the app. But there is absolutely no reason why you can’t have cards in the app and physical cards as well. Plenty of other places manage this sort of thing just fine!!!

Fantastic app!

Ignore the wingers moaning about not having a digital card in the app. I’m going to review the app for what it is. To find places to visit. Map view: Shows every location you need. Just simply tap a location and the map will zoom in to that location. You can then tap for more information, opening times and directions. Directions: Fantastic feature. Just tap directions, then the app will ask you if you want to use Apple or Google maps. Assuming you have either or both installed. Filter: Tap filter then you can choose what you like. From house and buildings, coast, countryside and garden and parks. This will then only show places within that filter. This app is well made and the developers have done a fantastic job. It serves it’s purpose. To find a National Trust place to visit. Simple to use and easy to navigate.

What the app does, it does well

A lot of reviews are penalising this app for things it does not do, and does not suggest that it does.
This is not a replacement for your card but instead an app to help you find out what’s going on in your local area and around the country, to get the most out of your membership.
Within minutes of using the app, I discovered four events we would love to attend and had no idea were going to happen.
If you’re looking for something to do last minute or later in the year, the app is simple and easy to use to quickly find out what’s going on, add the events to your calendar, and book tickets with.
Yes, the other reviews highlight great feedback for the developers and I do hope they listen, but as a “Days Out” app, it absolutely succeeds in quickly guiding you to things you do for a wonderful day out.

Not as good as previous app

I am very disappointed by the present app from the NT.
I had a list of all the places I had visited or wanted to visit previously; this new app has taken that option away entirely, (Where has the sign-in for My National Trust and My Places gone? Due to a major upgrade of our internal systems, My National Trust and the My Places features are no longer available).
There is no digital membership card that I can add to my wallet - just in case I forget my plastic one. In this day and age with a new app this is basic.
The digital maps do not necessarily represent the ground truth on site. Sorry NT but you have got to do better.

Basic site finder

The app works well as a basic tool for finding nearby sites, with info about opening hours and events, but is very lacking in functionality.
The lack of a digital membership card in the app, or any way to manage membership, is a glaring omission. Requiring people to carry their printed cards feels very antiquated.
Also, there is no way to build lists of places (e.g. visited/want to visit/lists for specific trips). Even the basic ability to “star” places has been removed in the latest updates.
Add in those two functions, and work on enriching the data for the sites, and this would be a five-star app. As it stands, it is just a basic digitisation of the handbook.

Disappointing shortfall in functionality

In some ways this app is useful in finding places to visit in a concisely presented form. However there are many features which absolutely should be included, the major one, which is inexcusable, is the total lack of any mention of cafes, tearooms or restaurants.
This is often a pre-requisite for us in stopping off at NT properties around the country, which we very much enjoy doing, and despite there being a section for facilities the presence or absence of such facilities seems to never be mentioned.
You can click on the link to the website for the property to find out, but what is the point of the app if it doesn’t contain such basic information that is part of deciding whether to visit a property or not?
A great facility if the app is seeing opening hours and temporary closures when they happen, which must be regularly updated by staff. Why can’t these updates also include the catering facilities?

Map Download does not work on iPhone or iPad

I have been trying to download a dog walking map for one of your properties near to me. It does not give me the option of where to save the map. It does not appear in downloads nor anywhere else on iCloud or local device file system. I eventually found it in recents but the only options available are to put it in books or print it. Useless! Move is greyed out. I have come to the conclusion it is sandboxed in some way. I have no wish to print something all green that covers a page with expensive printer ink that I will lose and forget to take with me being a pensioner. What I would like is to be able to save somewhere I can find it, to pinch and zoom on my iPhone while at the property. I have come across no other app failing in this way. Otherwise I am happy with the app telling me what is open when.

No digital card

Deleted app, only got it because I thought I could add my National trust card. Would be so handy because then I’d just have it on my phone but found out you can’t add your card and after reading reviews saying it’s at ‘the top of their wish list to add this feature’ but you see that was written 5 YEARS AGO it’s obviously not going to happen! How can it take them that long to sort it? I’d understand if it was a unusual request which might be difficult to sort but when every other company can do it it’s very strange that in 5 years they still haven’t been able to work it out. I’m thinking they might need a new app developer that actually know what they’re doing. From the reviews it’s obvious that everyone only wants the app to add their card.

Great App but where’s the support for Apple Wallet?

I really like this app but one frustration is that you are not able to add your National Trust Card to Apple Wallet; either via the app or directly. Most big companies with membership or loyalty cards now do this (Costa, Starbucks, Harris+Hoole, John Lewis etc)and it means you would always have your card with you even where you may have left the physical one at home. - I’ve since had a response from the developer saying they are planning to add this feature, however that was years ago and looking at the other reviews the NT developers were responding that they were testing this feature 3 years ago. In this day and age this isn’t really acceptable, this isn’t a novel or new solution but the norm with pretty much every other membership program across the country.

Forget what these fussy oldies think

Brilliant app and very easy to use, honestly don’t understand what all these 2 star 3 star reviews are for, clearly a bunch of oldies struggling to use the simplest of technology/apps so do what they do best and complain! They probably won’t even know how to see this review so they’ll never know and I’m probably wasting my time but hey who cares, when I’m visiting these beautiful sites I’ll not have a care in the world.

Why no digital membership card

This is something that is raised time and time again in reviews yet nothing happens. There are developer responses going back 3 years + promising digital cards are in the pipeline but here we are in 2023 and still nothing. Come on NT- get your act together. If other heritage organisations can manage it why not the NT? I have just come back from a visit to the Netherlands and was able to buy a digital pass that gave me entry to over 70 galleries, museums and attractions. Clearly the technology is out there. This lack of progress is really shameful. Like many people I don’t always have my wallet and physical card on me and why should I? I have an electronic wallet on my smartphone where I keep my bank cards, train tickets etc. Why can’t I have an electronic NT card. And if someone from the development team is minded to respond to this then don’t bother unless there is a clear timeline for that what people continue to ask for is going to be implemented.

Very annoyed

Very disappointed and annoyed that due to the update of national trust systems that our record of all the places we have visited in the last 4 years, that were recorded using the app have been lost with out any warning. If you can’t migrate this data it would have been a courtesy to warn members in advance that it would be lost and give us a chance to record it before it disappeared.
Poor showing IT team and those who mapped the data migration.
National Trust - Recover from your disgrace and raise a form so we can request that the data is extracted and email to members.

Good but recently taken a step back

Where did all my favourite places go? Yesterday I was looking for a trip out and went to check my ‘want to visit’ list and it’s gone! Now I have to hack through the list again. Disappointed. The rest of the app is good but now far less useful.
It is a really strange choice not to have the membership details in the app. Don’t know any other members’ app that also requires a membership card to use the benefits.
It now seems like a good advert to non-members, rather than a useful resource for existing members. Needs work.

Needs a couple of key features

This app has a map that shows you the properties nearby, but is otherwise not that useful. Key things it needs to be a great app
-digital membership card
-an easy to find PDF link (that can be saved in the app) for the visitor leaflet at each property. Every time I go to a property I have to take a leaflet as half of them aren’t on the website either, and it feels like such a huge waste of paper! I just want a quick glance at the walking routes.

No digital passport to track visits

The advert on the App Store tells me I can ‘create lists of my favourite places’, which is the reason I went to the trouble of looking for the app and downloading it in the first place. I hoped that this functionality would do away with the need for me to buy and carry around a physical ‘Passport’.
I also agree with the previous reviewer in that a digital membership card would be a welcome addition.
The general look and feel of the app is nice, the search function and individual site information is good.

Hearts

I don’t think National Trust realise how many people found the pressing the heart for places visited / wish list very useful . There are so many fantastic places to visit but it can get confusing when some are similar or you’ve been to quite a few already . It’s also nice to look through the app and plan places to visit if you’re going to a different area and putting them on your “places I’d like to visit “ list so you don’t forget which ones you like .
The app has been updated but this facility is no longer available 😢

Decent but lacking scope

App works very well for info on places nearby, with a few filtering options, but that’s all it does.
• No digital membership card, and plastic card can’t be loaded to phone wallet.
• No way of adding places to lists, eg must see / seen / go again etc.
• Downloadable maps vary greatly from the ones handed out at the gate - eg numbering of locations around the grounds isn’t consistent, which caused much confusion.
• no consistency in pricing section to show what is free with a membership and what isn’t, leading to doubts about visiting certain locations.
• from what I can see, the handbook adds nothing extra if you have the app or vice versa. So at point of membership purchase allow people to choose which they prefer. It would save paper and printing costs.
Looking at other reviews, some of my points have been made by others, sometimes years ago. Developer response is either completely off the mark, or promises an item is coming. When that feature still doesn’t exist 2 years on, you’ve failed the user.
I would imagine one of the main targets these days is getting the younger generation more interested - without a decent app you’ve failed before you even start.
Do a thorough UX study to find out what people want, and then make it happen. Don’t deprecate features before the replacement can go live. I’m sure you have a decent dev team, and could even count on some volunteers. There’s just no excuse for the lack in functionality.

No digital membership card

The app is fine, I don’t think it’s very useful most of the time but if I’m away it’s useful for looking up places around. We go to local places all the time though and the main reason that I’d want to keep this on my phone would be to add my membership card to the Wallet app. Maybe I’m more of an edge case than I realise but it’s the only thing I really want the app to be able to do, the rest is just a handy way to the website content I can already easily access on my phone anyway. The only reason I have it installed at all is because I hope that one day there will be an update with digital cards and I want to know when it happens.

Where have my places gone?!

I religiously kept a list of places we’d visited and those were wanted to visit using them app’s function, but these have disappeared. Now planning trips is harder and we can’t easily solve family debates about whether or not we’ve been somewhere. We’ve just driven past an NT site and I think we’ve been, husband does not.
The places I want to visit list acted as an easy way to choose a day out. Is there a plan for it to return?
I’m pleased to learn NT are working on a way to have my membership card within the app, as so many other organisations do.

Was good - now just ok.

I found this app about 9 months ago and was really enjoying using it. Being able to find properties that we would want to visit and mark them as such. Then having visited, update the record to reflect this. As you get older being reminded as to what you have and haven’t visited becomes increasingly useful!
Sadly, all this wonderful functionality has disappeared and now we are left with something that appears to have no more functionality than a basic web site.
There is so much potential for an app for the National Trust. Features like ‘how long would it take me to drive there’ and the ability to hold my national trust membership, to save me taking cards, pdf’s of maps of the estates, audio tours etc etc.
Sadly this version of the app seems to be travelling in the opposite direction.

Truly disappointed

What was a decent resource has now turned into a waste of my screen space! Yeah, seriously that’s how peeved I am!
I always look to the National Trust app to help me plan breaks but discovered that the updates has removed the ability to save places I want to visit and places I have been. It was such a handy feature I utilised to help me keep track of where I’d been and where I’d like to go.
It’s still ok for the info on NT places but the feature they’ve removed gave it the personal touch. Bring it back!!!

Latest upgrade a downgrade

The latest upgrade has been a severe disappointment! All my saved information about places I want to visit I had added to over the years to make a “go to” list for holidays has disappeared without warning! And I cannot add any places I have been to and if I wanted to go back, ot take others there. Being able to see when they are open is definitely less important to me, that’s what you go to the website of the place for!
I’ll am very disappointed and considering deleting the app

Where has sign in and my places gone?

Really whover decided to turn off these useful features and call it an upgrade is just insulting the members. Having done something so foolish at least have the honesty to apologise and tell us if and when the sign in facilities will return rather than misdirect with vague promises of other features the developers want to develop.
For goodness sake this is a user app, the developers need to focus on the users needs, surely the members are a critical group of users who fund most of the operation.

Apple wallet

While this is good for having instant access to information about local properties etc, I see that the response you gave to a review 2 years ago stated you were looking at a digital card which could be added to apple wallet. This doesn’t appear to have happened yet, which is disappointing. When is this likely to be available…..using apple wallet is so much easier than carrying lots of cards.

No digital membership card option

Not yet sure on the value of this app over the website (either mobile or desktop). I thought I would download and see if there was yet the option to add the membership card digitally but no option. Looks like NT are considering adding this feature, but actually adding appears to be on the never ending back burner given its developer responses to other reviews saying it was coming nearly 2 years back……

Great App

Loving the app so far, nice and simple and makes it so easy to choose your next visit. A few suggestion from me: - A ‘Discover’ page to find new places which you wouldn’t see based on your location, but you might consider working in to your next trip. This could also encourage visits to less known sites. - Icons or tags to highlight key elements of a site: grounds for walking on, a property to look around, gardens, cafe etc. as it is nice to have that information immediately. - It would be good to be able to change the location of your searches. This is essentially what the map is doing but I would like if I could temporarily select a new location, say if I’m going on holiday in the UK. I could then see sites closest to me for when I’m there. - Make sure every location has at least one image - Mobile tickets and passes (I know you’re already working on this) Thanks and Keep up the good work!

No digital membership card

Downloaded the app assuming I there would me a digital membership card in it, but there isn’t . Have read other reviews and the dev team suggested they are working on it but that was a year ago so they need to get a wiggle on. I like they have got rid of the plastic cards but the paper ones are not durable enough, this app should have a virtual membership card on it really by now.
Other than that the app is basically the website. Could be much better.

Estimated Distances .

Your App states that the distances shown are approximate and in a straight line and it may be longer by car .
Well not many of us can go by helicopter or drone.! Can I ask how you find the distances ? They are so far out compared with Google maps , why not find a system that gives a more accurate figure ?
For example we live 4.5 miles from Mottisfont your estimate is 2 miles.

‘Improvements for iOS13’?

You guys realise that this is a year late....
IOS14 is here, and some widgets would be nice
1) Cycle through the N nearest places to my current location (a widget with a pretty picture, overlaid with a place name, a distance and click to get more info. A bigger widget might show them side by side, or cycle through (give the option)
2) As above, but for a random place in the country
3) A widget to show N nearest places that fit a category
4) Option to exclude from the above widgets any places I’ve been to recently (established by phone location) either permanently or for a period of N months.
5) Option to tag a place to ‘exclude manually or always include’ from above.
6) A widget to link to a particular place (e.g. showing news for that place)
7) As previous, but for a user defined list of places - they cycle.
8) A widget that just shows a lovely picture from a random place - no text, click for more. Cycles every so often
9) A widget to show N nearest places that fit a category

Frustrating app

This is great for finding properties etc. But when it comes to booking tickets it is so frustrating. You click the link to book online and you go to Eventbrite. Okay. So today I’m trying to book to go to Dyrham Park next weekend. Click the link to book online and you go to Eventbrite for last weeks bookings! I cannot find a way of getting dates for next weekend. This isn’t the first time this happened. But each time I want to book I try again - with the same results. Why bother with the app when it’s easier to go to the website? Please sort this out.

Digital

I have added my membership card in the Stocard app, unfortunately the barcode type hasn’t allowed me to add to Apple Wallet so please when you release your digital version allow support for Wallet.
The experience with using my digital version has been varied. More training is required for your staff! Quoting a GDPR breach by using a digital card doesn’t cut it with me and put your staff in a very awkward position when asked to provide section and sub sections of the Data Protection Act which were being breached.
Also the claim of open to misuse and fraud? I was happy to provide my photo ID, but no, it was all too much, I’d have thought giving a plastic card to friends & family would be more open to abuse?
Staff quoting “the memo says NO!”, well the memo didn’t circulate well as other members of staff are intrigued and excited to see my digital card!

Could have been wonderful.

This app could still be wonderful if only there was the option of being able to use the app on arrival at a site instead of the membership card...
I understand that The National Trust are already using barcode readers on many sites so most of the infrastructure is already in place to support this.
We have been National Trust members for over two years and have only used our membership a handful of times as, when we are out and about or on holiday, we rarely have the cards with us and are loathe to PAY AGAIN for entry (even if this can be refunded as vouchers minus an admin charge) so we just don’t go. We can’t be the only ones considering cancelling the membership...
Saw your app and thought that The National Trust had found the answer... Unfortunately I was disappointed. Please, please catch up as this facility is available across so many other apps.

Nice but Some issues

When a link is provided in a description , for example to a photographer website, the link can not be clicked nor can you select the text to copy and paste.
Even though I am already a member and signed in, everywhere keeps suggesting to me to become a member.
In the help and settings there is a feedback option which does not work when you use 3rd party email apps. It just tells me to setup an email account on this device. I have 3 all setup!

Great app, love the NT!!

I liked the app before they added maps. I travel a lot, and the feature to find and filter properties nearby is good.
It would be great if you could filter by whether there’s a cafe too, but the newly added feature of maps of the properties is excellent and will save paper every time I visit.
Thanks for all the great days out NT! Now enhanced with an even more useful app - now just needs the membership card to be included and it will be ace!!!

Great app but needs a bit more

Let me begin with, saying how much I enjoyed the National Trust. The app is simple to use and quite informative. However, it would be wonderful if there was the option to store your NT card on there and also manage your subscription. It would also be very helpful if there was a way to see if a product is in stock in the shop! That way the app could be a one stop shop for all things NT.

Good but needs bringing up to date

What it does it does fine but like others have said members need to be able to log in so they can (a) sync across all devices and not loose they’re favourite visits or wish list, (b) not loose all that previously entered data when you do an App update and (c) have a virtual membership card.
I see from previous requests that (a) has been ongoing for over a year now. How long does it take?
Regarding the virtual membership card, have a word with the AA or Screwfix. They both have had them for ages and they work like a dream.

Easy to use

Perfect app that works offline as well. Me and my wife travel the uk in our old VW camper van and this app is perfect for finding national trust locations on our adventures. It has a map with all the local places and postcodes has information about the place and any events that are on in the area you are in. You can safe the places you have been to and make a collection and also save places you would like to visit. You can also change the searches to find walks and beaches if you like and this all works with no internet connection so it's perfect for when we have no wifi we can still find our favourite places and make new memories

Informative and helpful

Like this app as it has allowed me to make good use of my membership and for planning trips whilst out and about.
As a minor nitpick, a sign in to account that remembers what I have saved would be really useful. Aware that this is being considered but should be a priority please. Also maps to download for offline use would also provide the ‘icing on the cake’. This too has been mentioned as a future feature but I would reiterate the ability to have the maps saved for offline use.
Good app and a real help with making full use of my membership.

Top notch app

We really appreciate this app. Especially good when holidaying and needing to see our options. What would be even better would be a site map of each property (many do have a printed map when you get there) which better indicates the facilities and attractions than the given description. We often need to judge if a property will hold our youngsters attention and the maps on site tell us this almost instantly. Thanks NT.
