So last week they decided to put ads into the app. So every 3 times you click on a plane, ads pop up. They’ve also blocked you from seeing the age of the plane and all the relevant interesting information when you click/tap on the plane. Why on earth they’ve put ads into this app is beyond me. They made enough money as it were. Don’t waste your time or effort on this app. It’s not what it was. Shame.

Just updated the app to the latest version. I’ve had this app for many years and have found it to be the best, even compared to FR24, e.g. better aircraft symbols, amazing history of the aircrafts, previous flights flown, age of aircraft etc. Now however, it looks like all that has changed and PF have gone down the FR24 route and made all those features like age of aircraft etc, for premium customers only and not on the free version of the app. Damn shame.

You offer nothing extra that I need in the subscription version, so why keep prodding, coaxing, cajoling me to move over?
Your tactics are getting closer to being illegal - suggesting it's a 'normal' upgrade when it's not!
The ft24 is preferable if I MUST move off what I paid for to an ad-based free version.

I brought this app back in 2016 and have been using it since, as of lately the app was recommending me to download the updated version which I did, and now they expect me to pay a subscription to be able to see the aircraft info etc when in the old version I payed for I had it all, in the old version I had everything available to me and now they want me to pay a subscription even though I purchased the app prior, is there anyway I can download the old version again, and has anyone else had the same issue, I loved this app, and loved looking at the aircraft history, age, etc and now I can’t as I’ve downloaded the updated version and now have to pay a subscription even though I purchased the app 5 years ago, and now I can’t get the old app back, if anyone would know how to install the older version please let me know, I don’t understand why the developers have done this.

It’s pretty good, but 6 months ago I muted an idea about being able to Airplay it over to my TV. The response was that it would be looked into. I also mentioned that it’s great for iPads and mobiles but you DON’T have it for MacBook Pro computers.
Why? I for one, if these issues could be accommodated, would pay more. This seems like a revenue loss that could be exploited. There is no doubt that this App is Great but it could be greater if not the best. Please look into these suggestions! I have emailed the company but got no response😭

I used to love this app. They have now however removed all the features I paid for on the most recent compulsory upgrade. So if I want to see the age of the plans etc I now have to pay for their subscription. I have already paid for this feature and now they want more. So sadly 2 stars and I seem to have little choice but to find an alternative.
Please think twice before scamming your customers. It is not a great way to run a business

The developer makes it very hard to reject tracking cookies - no option to reject all, you have to go through a hundred or so switches to turn them all off. Can only be to make people just give up.
There are plenty of other apps which are better behaved - use one of them.

I enjoy the app and just following random aircraft around the world. I also love to see what’s flying overheard. My only issue is sometimes I hear and see aircraft and they don’t show on the app. Maybe there’s a good reason. But it’s fun and kills time. I just wish I lived near a busy airport. I’d go watch them land. I also told my Dad about this app and planes and he said I was boring. Then later he’d come into my room to point out planes flying overheard so obviously downloaded it. Haha.
The free is ok but full of ads. I can cope for now. I enjoyed the free trial more a while back. I had to stop it because at that time couldn’t afford the subscription. I plan to subscribe on payday because I’m not sure when the money will be taken (some apps do it immediately, some at certain dates though that’s rare). It’s quite a reasonable price currently and I hope it stays that way since I’m on a budget. It keeps saying free trial again but I don’t think you get another. I daren’t test it.

Been using the application for years. Absolutely love this app, new updates are fantastic features that you wouldn’t find anywhere else, such as onboard and 3D.
I would love to see in the IOS update, for there to be some sort of widget for the app. Maybe where it shows your current location on the map with real time aircraft showing around you, as it would if you were in the actual app.

I think Plane finder is visually pleasing, a good source of informants features. My only complaint is that quite often planes do not have photos, while flight radar 24 most of the time have photos of the aircraft attached. It would also be nice to filter out a specific airline, operator, say to only display Finnair aircraft for example. But I enjoy using the app a lot.

This program is great. The latest 3D version gives you the option to switch easily between 3D & 2D. I find it accurate and can confirm that as I live near to the Bournemouth International Airport and as flights either arrive or leave live, they appear on Plane Finder. Best app for tracking aircraft in my opinion. Bill

I’ve had the plane app and 3D app since they were first put in the App Store. I paid for these apps and now because they’re updating the app I’ll have to pay again! I’ve tried the restore app purchase button but still can’t see details of any flight and a lot of the features are locked unless I pay an extra £9.99. Looks like I’ll be moving to a rival app who have more respect for their loyal customers. I feel completely cheated.

A very very good app for tracking and seeing the world of aviation. I bought Premium this morning and I use the playback action to try and view aircraft I have been on and the holidays I have been on. I have been trying it this afternoon and now the date tracker will load and then disappear, just wondering if anyone could help me with this?

I paid for the previous app as well as the 3D app and a long time ago the AR app. Now I find that for the same features I have to pay again, but this time every month?!
Or I can just used a hobbled version stuffed with adverts. I honestly don't mind paying for full versions of apps, but this subscription nonsense is getting out of hand, especially when I've already paid for it three times.

I’ve written to you twice now asking why previously displayed info (weather, etc) had vanished from the app. I also signed up for a free trial of premium to see if the info returned. It didn’t. App now says I need to unlock ALL of the previously displayed info - during period of premium trial (?!).
I used to love your app. Sadly now it’s useless, and with zero response from support.

I decided to upgrade the app and pay a monthly fee because I have a real interest in flight and was keen to unlock the potential of the app. But what I can’t understand is why some planes just do not show up when they’re in flight. I just heard a plane fly over my house, I checked the app to see what it was...no plane! Funnily enough, I have two other free apps that told me a Saab prop plane just flew over my house on a scheduled flight. This has happened a few times now.
Come on developers, if I’m paying for an app, I expect it to be better than the free stuff!!

In my view the 3D view makes this app a toy rather than a serious aircraft enthusiasts tool. More work needs to be done to enhance and customise the notifications function by enabling user to adjust alert sounds and volume. I have suggested this before but nothing has been done so far.

Myself and mum watched my brother when he went overseas. We can always open this app and put his flight no. In which allowed us to feel at ease knowing exactly where he was going at any given time. ( keeping an eye as they say) haha
I’d recommend this app to a friend because you can watch where they are in the world! It’s awesome

I had a two weeks free trial, and unfortunately that’s end there. I do not blame the app but what I wanted this for, is just not there. I don’t care about airlines but GA. There is all info you want about airlines but very little about planes that flying outside my window, if they show up at all. I read and fully understand is that all about type of transponder. As I’m writing this there is two planes SR22 and Cessna flying nearby. I can see them in real but I can only see sr22 on the app and like 99% GA planes I have only alt course vertical rate type and registered date. Is missing rest of them. Again is not app fault but just my expectations are a bit unrealistic. Then is playback, sounds awesome but I only managed to find my flight to Spain but none of them to Poland, even very recent with Rynair or Wizzair. Featured flights alert, well I don’t know how it works because it didn’t notify me about Red Arrow flying by!! Charts is just joke, there is 6 of them, I knew will be bad but there is more then 7000 airports on Navigraph, as example.
The good
Is quick and Very easy to use. 3d stuff is gadget but nice addition, weather is fairly accurate compared to Windy. Filters are awesome. I like the layout and presentation.
If that was one of purchase yes worth to have for around £10 but subscription, no to me. Thank you for let me try this first and keep improving so maybe one day I will have a go again.

For ease of use this is the best app. Got really excited when I followed a helicopter for miles heading for my city then I saw it appearing over the horizon and fly over my house lol. Was slightly disappointed though when I see planes fly over that aren’t on the app at all. It probably shows about a quarter of the air traffic I see in the sky.

I've used Plane Finder for a while. The latest version has added some really great features which I think I'm going to be happy to pay for after my trial subscription. I'm loving the integration of the 3d version and the fact that now there's a history of the actual flight rather than just the aircraft. The development team are small, UK based and very responsive to suggestions. Looking forward to further developments!

I paid for the Plane Finder app several years ago. It now says that the app I paid for is an "older version", and if I want all the features, I need to download this version of the app and pay for a subscription.
Just because you want to collect ongoing subscription fees instead of one-off purchases from new users, doesn't mean you should alienate all of your current paid customers. I don't think I'll bother using either of your apps from now on.
Oh, and the description for this app doesn't make it clear that most of the features require a subscription. 3D mode? Subscription. Weather? Subscription. Dark mode on all the time? Subscription. Want to see altitude AND speed underneath a plane? Subscription.
Horrible abuse of your customers.

Love this app. Tells you what plane it is (plus all its info), where it came from and where it’s going, what it’s speed is and height it’s traveling at If you tap on the plane it gives you the flight path too! I’ve followed my kids journeys when they go on holiday so I know they’re safe and landed

I paid for this app, a few years back when it was first out. Back then it was called Plane Finder pro, and that’s why you paid for it. So how come something I paid for in the past I’m not being asked to upgrade to premium. Pretty poor show if you ask me.

I recently downloaded the app because I like planes.
I found this app to be great. Very simple format, with a lot of information, even if you don’t have the Premium subscription.
It’s very fun, I really enjoy it.
I did however have a problem with accessing the Premium account I had paid for. However, I contacted the app creators, and they responded in less than a day, and they were really helpful.
No problems now.
It’s a very versatile app - you can use it as a map, to check weather, to look at your family’s flights to check where they are, or just to look at planes.
I thoroughly recommend this app to any age. It’s great fun.

I like the app but the alerts aren’t much good. I’ve got a few aircraft alerts for my area and sometimes I get no alerts and other times I get an alert when the aircraft in question is nowhere near or already passed overhead.
Why can’t I setup a certain range e.g within a radius of 50 miles so I k ow when an aircraft is heading into my area

I payed £4.99 for the other version of the app and I go on it today and it says “BUY PREMIUM VERSION???” This is unacceptable!! I’ve already payed and it’s really upsetting. I’m really confused, can someone explain what’s happened??? I just feel lied to and cheated. If I’ve already paid £5, why should I have to pay again? Please give the people who paid for the other version free premium.

We live under the flight path to the Brecon Beacons , I used to see Concorde all those years ago and now it’s great to see an A380 Purring along . My fascination comes from my Grandparents lived right under the flight path of Heathrow and as a child he took us to visit Richmond park. Then it was Boing that ruled the skies with the 707.

I bought this app to establish whether I could find flights which had been cancelled due to weather. I could not do this with the free app because the ads were so distracting. I purchased a months subscription to allow me to work without distraction, persuaded by the promise I could cancel at any time! I no longer use the app and I cannot find any way to cancel! It does not appear in Apple ID subscriptions, and there is no clear route in the app!
Update: very helpful support team member cancelled my subscription (her efforts no doubt prompted by my initial review!) I did not really use the app after I established it did not do what I needed so I cannot really rate the app functionality, so I have given a neutral 3, but 5 stars for the support team operative!

As someone who paid for this app when it was originally released to find out that you now have to pay a subscription every month to now use the app ad free is disgraceful. The same service can be used using a web browser but instead you force people to pay a subscription to use a service which you can get for free. Bonus points that half of the ad’s force you to restart the app to get rid of them. 1/5 stars use flight radar 24 it’s free and will let you use the app without any issues.

The app provides near real time information, it can be useful when you will need it. It works with basic info, the paid version may provide more detailed info and I do not need. Hence I keep using the free version with annoying advertising which is not useful to anyone.

I kept getting a compass calibration disabled error so I did a quick online search and found I had to enable Compass calibration in Settings-privacy-location services-system services. All working great now.

Free version is just full of adverts which you can’t close so have to competently close the app and restart it to get out of them. I understand the need to generate income through ads to keep the app free but this is poorly executed and comes across as intentional so that you buy the full version. This is the only reason why the developer wouldn’t put an X on the add. They must assume the user will get fed up and buy the add free version. Seems a bit greedy... there are plenty of decent free apps out there that do what your app does.

This is wonderful....being able to trace one’s family on their flight there and back. So very interesting too to no longer have to wonder where that aircraft up above is going to or coming from. So quick and easy to find out. Just let everyone it. Ideal for the armchair traveller who really wishes not to be !

Its just mildly interesting if you are in your garden with bugger all else to do. Its pretty interesting to see where these planes have come from and are going. Its not sad, it bleeding isn’t.....

What an interesting free App. I have a marvellous view of aircraft taking off and landing at Malaga Airport and this App provides me with every little bit of information that the pilot needs to know in addition to minute by minute tracking movement of all aircraft. Absolutely great to use especially in these last few days when the weather has not been nice to go outside anyway!

I enjoy watching planes at the airport and we get a lot flying over us nearly every day and always wondered where they were going, this app now tells me, you can see the planes moving on the map as they're tracked, also gives height and speed, route and both flight time and distance between departure and arrival airport
