Was working but now crashes under iOS 8.

A great app but on my iPad Air it launches with half the screen black and unclickable.

Buggy string input
It no longer crashes upon startup on iOS 8 (thanks), but has some show-stopping bugs, e.g. INPUT a$ returns an empty string if a word longer than 3 characters is entered, although LEN(a$) inexplicably shows the length as being 14 characters regardless of whether the entered string is 4,5,6 etc in length.

miSoft BASIC!
Superb! Really great being able to code on the go, and has so much functionality! Even if you can't write in Objective C (which I can't!) you can get a prototype of your game/app working using this, which would make it so much easier ( and cheaper) to get a professionally written Obj C app knocked together ready for the App Store. Get coding people, there's no excuse with tools like this!! Keep up the good work miSoft :-)

Buggy
Nice idea for an app but it's buggy. The facial recognition sample doesn't work; it just displays a blank screen. My phone gets hot as soon as I start the app; it must be chewing up CPU (and presumably battery power). I mailed the developer's support address but haven't received a response.
I'd recommend waiting til these problems are fixed before paying for it.

Needs improving
Not the best one I've tried. When using the console delete file method the file was still there after two attempts. Editing code near left hand edge of screen is a pain as it is almost impossible to place the cursor at the beginning of the line of code. Not too keen on the Code Slot method for storing files, seems a bit clunky and you have to save a blank file to the code slot to empty it and name it Code Slot 1 or whatever. I don't think I will be using this app very much.

Love it.
I'm old, very very old. So old that I remember bashing out Basic programs on my ZX Spectrum. I've always missed the simplicity and immediacy of knocking something together in a Basic interpretter, and having tried this for half an hour I'm very very happy.
I suspect it might provide a fun, accessible way for my daughter to try a little coding too.

Do you remember the early days of the PC, when there was very little software available. Basic enabled one to write one's own software tailored for one's own specific purpose. This app(lication) recaptures those days. In addition to giving one the freedom to experiment, it also teaches how to write a good stable and efficient program.

Good, but much room for improvement
This is great to use as a knock-up area for ideas you might use elsewhere.
Its fantastic for all the reasons others have mentioned, so I won't bore you with them again, however...
The code editor could do with some colour formatting for keywords - so far it's just capitalised.
Also, when it asks you to rate the app it says, '5 star ratings get fantastic updates' ...or something very similar. Does that mean 4 star ratings or below are ignored? Should we claim the app is perfect, perhaps misleading others, in the hope of a 'fantastic update'? Don't get me wrong, I love this app and use it a lot, but I really hate rubbish like that: it's cheap and unprofessional.

A brilliant tool
For someone like me, who knows a little programming from years back and has occasional uses for it but no time to learn professional coding tools, this is a perfect solution. Easy and fun to use. There is also surprisingly good support. I look forward to the updates over time.

Excellent
This app is excellent. Much better than I thought it would be. It is really easy to use iPhone features with little code. I am using this to teach my son the concept of programming and this is perfect in a few lines of code you can produce great results. I wish there was something like this for desktops.

My favourite app!
I love this. It's like having a zx spectrum in your pocket. I'm now more addicted to this than Tiny Wings!
A few more graphics functions would be nice to make it easier to make simple games but otherwise ... Great!

This is a really great implementation of BASIC for iPhone and iPod.
The language is fully featured and it works really well. It's just so nice to be able to create a little program without all of the usual paraphernalia associated with programming these days.
I would like to see a little more info on the special tokens for sprites and accelerometer etc. A command for GPS would be handy, too.

Brilliant app
Wish you were back in the 80's? This is a brilliant and full implementation of BASIC with a comprehensive instruction set and a whole load of functions specific to the iPad. Access the iPad's accelerometers, sound and screen! But it's seriously useful too and not just for fun. There are full set of graphical commands, file input/output, all the trig functions so there's no limit to what you can program. I've had no problems with the program at all. Most of my library of legacy BASIC programs run with little or no modification too. There is a comprehensive Help section and several example programs to let you see how it's done. Brilliant app and well worth the money. It's what the iPad has been waiting for. Well done!!

Well I don't know about anyone else but as well as being fun this is a great way to write little applications for your iPhone/iPad, etc.

Really good for rapid prototyping
Only requested feature I can think of would be to have an option to disable the iPhone/iPad auto lock for programs which need to run over 5 mins which need constant visual feedback, but are unattended.

Nice trip down memory lane for me spent a great time in hols teaching my son the basics of programming. App has already got a load of new feature since August - well worth the cash!

Really excellent app!
Excellent app! I've been looking for a good programable calculator to save time (and errors) in keying-in long and tedious equations. I know I could use a spreadsheet for the simple stuff but iterative calcs are almost impossible - until now. This app let's me write complex algorithms in basic just like I did at university. It's really easy and quick and I can save them for future use in a simple menu and even share them with collegues via email.
If you're looking for suggestions for new features I'd probably request functions and sub-procedures along with local variables - but this app is still brilliant just the way it is.
If you need to write a simple program to solve a math problem or you want to teach your kids programming without worrying about all the complexity that modern languages entail, this is the app for you. Keep up the good work.

Wicked, a superb blast from the past...
Imagine my surprise when I saw an interpreted programming language on the iPad. Apple had supposedly refused to allow this kind of app on the iDevice product range.
Well not anymore. Nice to stroll down memory lane, where the world does not work at break-neck speed.
Only disconcerting thing for me is the interpreters desire to autocomplete a line, even if I wish to add something to the end of the line. I can use line numbers, but it does not auto sort the order, instead it leaves them out of order., as it is not entirely dependant on the line numbers for program execution This means that a program you thought would work in line number sequence, does not.
The programs are also reasonably fast, not blistering, but still not a slouch for an interpreted language. I presume future updates will help speed things up, as well as adding new functions.

Old school fun!
I just bought this app and have been having fun trying to remember my old C64 programming.
It works well on the iPad. I would have given it 5 stars if only it would have had the feature as described below:-
I it think would make programming easier if the text editor was altered to allow you to copy chunks of code in instead of single lines.
This would allow one to cut and paste useful bits of code from other programs or from other sources and make the whole process more efficient and fun.
I hope this makes it into the next release.
