Great, BUT!

I love the app! It’s easy to use and love that it is connected to the desktop platform. Unlike most out there. HOWEVER, I wish it had a total for the day/week/month like MetaTrader, would be nice to keep track of my trades in that layout.

Notifications don’t work

I like this app. It’s easy to use and generally ok, however the notifications don’t work and I don’t get notification of stop outs or take profits. Very annoying.

Great App

Since University, I’ve been researching the financial market and have I discovered factors that could be summed up in a Quantitative Mathematical Forecasting Model, combining value, safety and timing. Testing and retesting confirmed that my approach reflected market reality.

My research was based around Quantitative Analysis, producing a FX analysis and portfolio management system that analysed and ranked currencies each minute for relative value as well as providing specific entry/exit timing indicators . The three fundamental factors we all need to know are which stocks to buy, sell or hold.

This app allows you to trade without risk in any time frame all major currency crosses. Can’t wait to become day trader. Defiantly recommend.

New version is a significant backwards step

Update of 4th May 2018: the latest version of this app says that price alerts are now available for V20 accounts. In fact, nothing has changed in the way you have to jump through hoops, as described below, to set up an alert. Possibly (and only time will tell) the app no longer spontaneously cancels your alerts after a few hours. However and as if to compensate, the alert doesn't trigger when the price goes through it, rendering your hoop-jumping completely pointless. Not impressed and reduced from two stars to one - the old version with a proper price alert system was miles better.

Old review:

For some reason, OandA have got rid of their excellent price alert feature, which had its own menu and was easy to set up and maintain. To set up a price alert now, it's necessary to draw an H-line in the required position on a chart (not easy to do accurately on charts with volatile prices) and then to activate the alert on that line. The quid pro quo for this backward step apparently is better charting features. I can't say that I've noticed.

Compared to the old version, here are the reasons (apart from being fiddly) why the new version is a backwards step:

1. Alerts lines on the iPad are not shown on the iPhone and vice versa

2. Tripping one alert on a currency pair appears to deactivate all the other alerts on that pair, which must be a bug.

3. It is no longer possible to choose the time limit on the alerts.

We can't all stare at our screens all day and it's important to be able to receive reliable alerts on a mobile device, wherever I happen to be. With this new version, this is much more difficult and frankly, it's unreliable.

Really horrible update

Update 19-01-2018- they have removed Alerts from the app, so now I can’t set my own alerts. Previously the request was to have past Alerts show up in the Activity log, now that won’t even be possible because Alerts are no longer available.

Keeps getting bad.

Previously:

I have loved this app for a few years now and watched as they made sensible updates over the years.

But this latest update is horrible:

1- screen is full of clutter

2- can't change the colour scheme so you are left with this nasty black facia

3- the prices do not update in real time. I proved this by comparing the web version, the desktop version, the iPhone app version side by side with the iPad version. The iPad version lags behind sometimes by as much as 5 to 10 pips.

I can't trust it to execute trades.

And if you can't do that then what is the point of using the iPad version to trade.

4- the much hyped changes to the charting features are confusing, I keep getting the refresh spinning icon.

I wish I can regress back to the older version.

A very pointless update.

Do not update to this version if you can avoid it until they submit an update.

So much potential uncapitalised

I'm new to the app and while I like the sleek style and the easy features like pre-made settings for take profit/stop loss and the automatic calculations for the price per pip, I find they lack so much in the charting department. For example It's hard to zoom in and out and have a decent view of the bars without them looking too squished. Also there are things like Fibo levels that you can't control what to add and it's hard to tell the levels once drawn as it does not show the %. Small things like search bar to find the pair could be very useful and opening the chart directly from the open position instead of having to go find it from all the pairs. Overall I think 3/5 is deserved but there is so much potential!

Very good app

I mean the best results are on ipads, bigger screen like iphone, but anyway, its very cool to check positions - history, profit and pips together, fxtrade for desktop supports multicharts windows-amazing!! But this mobile version supports more putting indicators in charts, set up, but obvious not compare to mt4. Very good news info and calendar, but tricky if you changed timezone. Must set up. Thx Oanda for very good app ;)

Works for me!

I don't often use this for actually placing trades unless I've got internet connection issues but when I have, it's worked well.

Moving stop losses are simple when I'm not on my brokerage platform.

I'm a seasoned trader, with many years experience on trading floor. My advice to anyone thinking of opening a trading account is......stay away from this one. Although the platform itself is simple to use, the movements between the candlesticks and the actual price on the left hand side is out of sync. Which means you'll never know the actual price of anything. You'll think your in profit, you'll close your position, and then find you've lost. DONT USE IT.

Pretty good

I only use it to check how my positions doing but the chart of the rates are a lot nicer on the eyes to read than on the platform.

In terms of making a trade it isn't as interactive as the platform but not disappointed.

However when a position is filled it doesn't specify whether it's a loss or profit which is kinda annoying.

Awful. App crashes after 2 seconds

Had an update on 30th May and now when I open the app it stays open for 2 seconds before crashing and closing itself down. Tried deleting and reinstalling. Tried starting my phone again. Called the helpline and the woman said they have no idea why I'm having that problem but will pass it along. In the meantime I'll just have to put up with it. Very disappointed.

Great app, some troubling features

All in all, this app is fantastic. The only issues I've had with it are that the graphs are difficult to manage and certain parameters are hard to understand. Leverage degree and buy/sell indicators could definitely be clearer. It'd be great to actually have the leverage amount indicated on every ticket so that keeping track of risk level in a portfolio of trades could be done without having to manually work them out.

Cannot log in 90% of the time. Even with 4g or wifi it tells me to check my settings as network is the problem. I think not. It shows no useful information like margin amount when putting trades on like desktop version. Not impressed at all. If it's not sorted very soon I will use another broker for all aspects of trading

Decent app on the rare occasion it's actually possible to log in and lasts long enough for you to use without crashing. No way anyone should rely on this for trading as it's liable to kick you out at the key moment.

Excellent trade app

This is an excellent trading app. I downloaded a few in order to compare and see which one would match all my criteria - and this is the only one I have found so far! The interface is beautiful, smooth and working on it just flows. Charts are crisp, beautifully displayed and smoothly scaled using the touchscreen interface. Can't rate this highly enough! Thank you for creating such a wonderful app!
