Quality of build to be improved and app to be tested with all models before release.

App is not scrolling upwards on IPhone XS, page gets reset as the content is scrolled upwards, never faced a problem till date in past cpl of years, first time it’s in such a way need a fix asap.

Illegally tracking location

I never gave permission for NDTV app to use my location but still it’s tracking my locations and bring up ads relevant to my location. Even tracks me on holiday locations and ads targeting these locations. Complaint to NDTV, no response. Absolute disgrace!

Worst app on iPhone X

The app crashes a lot on iPhone X while working absolutely fine on other iPhones and iPad. Not only does it crash, it hangs the iOS for a few seconds as well. Apple should take down this app until these issues are fixed.

I want to mention that the rating is based on the performance of the app rather than the content.

The app crashes, freezes and doesn’t work all the time. Didn’t expect such a poor quality app from NDTV

Hangs and freezes

For over a month now, the app has been unstable. Upon opening the app, my iPhone becomes unresponsive for a while. If I am lucky, the app will show the home screen allowing me to browse. But that stops after one story. Sometimes, it won’t show anything. Just a blank screen trying to load something repeatedly. Overall very poor QA. Time to uninstall.

Poor performance!

Too keen to make money by allowing popping up ads on every other page but not enough spent on maintaining the app! The app freezes frequently in iOS, latest version. When we can get news by other means who would tolerate such badly designed ad- overdosed app?

Never seen a news application as bad as this so called Indian News Empire!!! Being an NRI, I have been using NDTV to follow the Indian news (predominantly) for the past 12 years. But I am sorry to say this that this mobile application never worked without being crashed or being bombarded with advertisements. This is a shame for the country of billion people and in this digital age. Sort it out gentlemen or just go and hide somewhere!

Hanging App

I used to be an avid fan of NDTV until the past year or so, when the app frequently starting to crash or freeze. I use an iPhone 6s. Sent feedback to NDTV - no improvements in the updates though it says the bugs are fixed. Even watching NDTV on TV gives a bad experience as the picture disappears ever so often. I hope that NDTV really addresses the issues with this app which is not clearly fit for purpose in this day and age.

Come on , restore old UI . Who the he’ll thought this new design is better. Either make completely new GOOD design and if you cannot then give me my money back . I have paid 6 months subscription for premium ad free app but now i hate the new version so completely uninstalled app .Please refund my money for ruining great app. Zero star or -10 if i have option to give .

An App full of bugs

The new app update has serious performance issues. It takes a long time to load, adverts don’t let you close them so you have to kill the app. Coming out of the app freezes the phone for around 10 secs during which you can’t use anything else on the phone. Terrible user experience. Do you even test app releases before pushing them out to readers?

What have you done to the app?

The recent releases have tried to make the app a bit too smart, even for the current digital age. Or may be not . Smirks.

You need to perform some more performance tests before the next release, coz this one is broken. The app just hangs at every story.

Update: the recent release does say it has fixed the crash issue - I say it hasn’t. NDTV should seriously consider changing their IT partner. Mobile has become the frontline media platform; and if your base is poor, no matter how good is your content, it’ll fail to get to your audience.

Review Update (after version 11.6)- the issue persists. Try testing on iPhone 6sp. A mere 5 mins would replicate it for u. Phew, I should rather write a mail to the editor.

Update 28/03: Ok, app is on the latest version n all, but guess it’s just time to give up. Its still terrible and freezes within minutes. Adios.

Ndtv was my goto app for anything from India. But despite so many updates, it’s destroying my iPhone, causing the entire phone to hang and freeze. Hope someone listens to this and improves the app, maybe reduce the ever increasing features making it more complicated.

But for now have deleted the app and looking for some other options :(
