Ski School Advanced combines inspirational, professionally produced video ski lessons with cutting-edge movement analysis technology to take your skiing to the next level.

Starting with strong parallel turns the lessons introduce skills to make your skiing more dynamic and adaptable. You'll look at short turns and workshops that introduce key aspects of advanced skiing (carving, bumps, off-piste and powder), starting you on the route to all-mountain expert.

NOTE:

- The audio issues mentioned are only due to the mute settings. Please check your mute switch first or if its an iPad double click the home button and scroll the bottom menu bar from left to right. Look for the silver speaker icon and remove the mute setting. Still not working then give us a shout.

These carefully designed lessons will:

• Complement on-slope tuition with a qualified instructor

• Clarify the basics

• Give you the skills and techniques to tackle different snow conditions

Video recording capabilities (device permitting) allow you to compare your skiing with instructor demos using split screen video analysis. Draw on the screen to highlight points then share on social media.

Super app for tips

Super app as a step up from intermediate - into carving, power and the odd piece of off-piste. I use this as a quick reference to remind me of the things my instructors have taught me when I'm skiing on my own/with friends. The short and direct videos means you can easily jump into the app for a reminder when on the chairlift or in the cafe.

Video plays without any sound on iPhone 6. Don't bother buying this as it is useless without sound.

Very helpful

I like the way you can use this app to get the advice you need at the point you need it. It's great that you can watch it again, after a day's skiing and think about your technique. He's got a really nice manner and explains things clearly, and doesn't jump too many steps at a time.

Best skiing instruction app

Really useful tips to work on and very clearly explained. Have found the section on softening my turns (flattening the ski) at the end of a fast carve, before starting into the new turn, is stopping me getting kicked out the turn at times and making everything smoother and less hard work. Thanks!

handy little guide

The app has some great tips and perfectly illustrated examples of the do's and don'ts of modern skiing. Really useful for revision before the season or for when you need that little bit of advice on the slopes. Great stuff. I've got all three!

Great app for reminding you of the basics

I found this app great to use. It's basic enough to use and has some great tips that remind you of what you should be doing all over the piste.

As a ski instructor I downloaded it to see what other professionals are doing with apps and was extremely surprised by the high quality videos, tips and guidance.

It's worth £3.99 of any serious skiers money!

Very up to date..

Very polished modern up to date ski lessons and as it says use it while relaxing during your lunch on the piste. I achieved genuine progression this year due to this..

One request maybe release a beginner freestyle video now with a few easy ski tricks.. EG skiing switch, rails, 180, jumps in general..

I found the advanced refresher both motivational and informative helping me getting into the zone before hitting the piste, technique is always worth thinking about before you do it! So always use it now to get me into the zone.

Made the holiday

I love this app. I am one of those skiers that never seemed to get it together and book private lessons in advance and can't face the group lessons available on the slopes. My skiing has been stuck for the last 3-4 years at intermediate. This app made my holiday because I was able to watch a lesson on the lift and then practice on the run down. All of a sudden I properly understood carving and mogul skiing and I went from adequate to (nearly) knowing what I was doing.

I am still a long way away from those graceful Austrians that have been skiing since birth, but after one holiday with this app, I am enjoying it and feel like I am no longer stuck.

Very useful clear instruction, recommended.

Darren's explanations of techniques are very good. Showed it to a English Ski instructor while away and he too was impressed, advising his friend to get a copy. Video quality is excellent. Would give it five stars but would have like more lessons / techniques on hard packed / icy conditions. Maybe these are to be added soon as was updated with other videos just over a week ago. Compared to the price of a private lesson well worth the money.

Thin on content

What there is is ok, but I had been through all of this in about 2 minutes. I don't regard that as good value.

What about pitfalls, common mistakes, and how to rectify them? What about difficult conditions ice, slush and bumps? Crud gets a brief mention, but that is it.

When compared to many much more complex and sophisticated apps this is a bit of a rip off frankly. I which I hadn't bothered. Certainly not going to save you a lesson. I am feeling generous so 2* but could have been less.
