No iodine listed for any foods

I’ve noticed that this app doesn’t cover your intake of iodine other than that it seems pretty comprehensive

Doesn't work - no contact or help info!!!

Graphics all out of sync - no welcome or info page. Jumbled text and no way to personalise or track your info. Have just wasted £5.00 for nothing. There seems to be no way to fix the issue. Also applicable to US market only - imperial not metric info.

Only if you live in the U.S.

This app is made and designed for the U.S. market. If I lived there I’d give it 5 stars; however, I don’t and to pay £5 for this app, where the scan feature doesn’t recognise British barcodes and all the food database is American, means that 95% of the app is irrelevant if you live outside the U.S. Apple should insist that this app is not available in regions where it cannot fully be utilised.

Great app

I've been using MyFitnessPal to track my meals, but wanted more information around vitamins and minerals, this app gives you that extra detail, and I'm now using it to plan meals/recipes that provide the extra nutrients, to get the most out of our family meals.

Helpful but odd omissions

I wanted to understand the nutritional content of my new diet (imposed for medical reasons) as I felt I might be missing out on vital vitamins and minerals. So this app is pretty good at letting me know what is going on but you do have to be imaginative!
Apparently no-one cooks roast potatoes unless the potato has been frozen first. That staple of breakfast, cornflakes, does not get a mention. Might have missed it but apparently everyone uses whole limes and not just the juice. When you search for something like coriander in herbs all you can find is the dried or seed variety, but look for it in foods and the fresh variety turns up. Some things are measured in cups and some not, seemingly randomly as I always measure rice in cups but for this you need the weight. And editing the day before is impossible unless all you want to do is delete something - I tried adding something and it just added it to today. Some lists seem endless (and American) but miss things you would have expected to see (like normal roast potatoes and cornflakes) but there is lots of content, so you can get reasonably close to what you ate. And you don't know what some things mean - for instance total fats is broken down into saturated fats and cholesterol. Not quite sure what this means and what happened to the good fats?
It is pretty intuitive and links to Health app on iPhone or iPad, where you can create graphs etc. So 4 stars for being pretty good even if it makes my brain hurt finding the right substitutes for the food I have eaten.

Does exactly what I want

I was a bit hesitant because of the price, but this is a great app with lots of info. You can change the units to show you information by weight, size or by item (say 1 egg or a medium apple, or 1 cup of mashed banana). The foods are well categorised and easy to find. A bit expensive but a good comprehensive food nutrition app.

Hate the update

I have been a huge fan of this app for years now and has always been one of my go to references as I am a nutrition student. I started my studies in Australia and am continuing them in the UK and still found the app relevant. The new update is entirely US based. It's gone from being a reference for whole foods and natural products to having nutritional info on every processed and junk food available in the US. Luckily I have restored my iPhone to before I updated the app and will not be updating! Such a shame coz I purchased the in-app extras.

Looks really impressive

It looks really great at first glance, with loads of information. However not terribly useful for the British market and annoying not to have an overall price for the full site. Huge number of foods that I have never even heard of let alone would use and no access to many basic foods that I would like to see.

Great App!

I really like this app, it has many foods, I just have one suggestion to the developers and that is to improve quantities. Even though I am European and use grams, it doesn' help to bemable to choose 100g basil cause no one ever eats that much basil! It gives an impression that the food is very nutritious untilmyou realize the quantity is unrealistic. I recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn about nutrition and improve their nutrient intake.

In app purchase a rip off!

A nifty app for checking food nutrients, but you have to pay twice in the in-app purchase, which is just pushing it, why not just charge £1.99 straight away instead of breaking it into two parts?! Feels like buying a Ryanair ticket...

OK for wildman Canadians, useless anywhere else!

I love the idea of the app, but the functionality is poor and the list of foods useless for anyone who doesn't routinely eat bear or caribou. How about simple beef, lamb, pork and so on? Loads of veg missing too. Such a pity because it had so much promise.
