Night mode broken

This release has broken night mode. If I leave the app and return the option disappears and it goes back to day. I have to crash the app to get it back
This is my most useful feature. You can have 5 stars when you fix this

Good app...but has issues

I've used Google books for years to study and sync my reading and notes between my phone and tablet and has been great with it being free and cross platform, the syncing and cross platform being very important to me. I now use an iPad as my tablet and the reading aspect is still great and syncs my highlighting, however there is a bug where when adding a note to a book, the textbox appears behind the keyboard meaning I can't see what I'm writing. Submitted a couple of bug reports but still no fix which is making studying very difficult

Can't sign in

Google requires sign-in to monitor activity but sign-in fails inside this app. Works in other words.

Great But.....

Great app and it works with my google home mini to !!!!! But it’s a bit annoying you have to got to the google play website and buy a book/audiobook 😒 but besides that is great

App frozen

Tried using the app after a bit of a break and it just freezes. Cannot get any response, uninstall or anything. Doesn’t even show up in my list of apps yet App Store knows it’s installed as can only press “open” on the app page. Assume it’s the latest update. So no reading until it’s sorted

Reinstall to fix freezing

After an Apple update this app just totally froze. Uninstalled and reinstalled to get it working again. Great to have all my books available from any device and syncing reading position.

Like it if only though....

I use this app to read at night but recently it’s freezing a lot n I can’t use it ... you can’t change page or do much at all..... what happened was working fine ..... I agree on second note about how to also purchase apps it’s blooming ridiculous too

By far the worst with note taking

I am using this app from an Ipadpro and it is problematic. I have bought my university book from google play but it is IMPOSSIBLE to study from this app or the website. The highlights get deleted or misplaced which makes it not worth the money I paid for convenience of digital edition. If you are thinking of using this app for your studies do not bother as it will just give you headaches.

Uninstallable update

Tells me there's an update and then when I select it I'm informed that it is not compatible with my device. That fact should be determined before presenting the update.

Resizing the fonts don’t work in ios12

Changing the font scale has no effect in the latest os version.
Probably needs some attention.

Great app but...

I find the app to be great, nice features with a good selection of book in the store. I purchased the Christmasauras by Tom Fletcher a while back to read to my son, however, it just crashes the app completely on all my devices. It’s been like this for a while and I still haven’t read it to my son. Would love a fix and some feedback about this please. Thank you.

Best book reading app so far. Specially when I would like to read foreign books (from Korea), google play books the only app that I can get my country's book. Easy to pay, easy interface better than any other app! Please import more foreign books! -the only reason I didn't give 5 star is that you can only buy & rent from website then download to your device app. But it's pretty easy & simple!

No more dictionary

Spent money on incomplete books!

Even though! They have a great selection of books for a competitive price... the quality of the books are absolutely mediocre...when I bought a book about art and none of the photos / images loaded, when I bought a business book the text resolution was absolutely unacceptable... selecting/highlighting is a chore!.. plus zero customer service!

Keep trying to download my audiobooks put it never succeeds. Good App otherwise can listen to audiobooks with WiFi but would like this improved as I want to listen to then as I travel.

Great service. Easy to use. Very polished app

I'm very impressive by the ease of using this app.. It's easy to change settings for the visual appearance of the book I'm reading, simple to view the last few books I've read and easy to find what else is in my library. Beats the opposition.

Inaccessible rubbish

Completely and utterly confusing and written with no eye on accessibility for blind people like me. Surprising when it ought to be obvious the visually impaired are a key customer class for e and audio books

When are you going to enable users to search and buy books directly within the app?

I have been using this app for years and it is good enough if all you want to do is read a book you have already purchased. But often I am on a train and have finished a book and would like to purchase another. Rather than having the capability of searching all books and purchasing within the app, I have to go to the website via safari and do it from there. And then wait for it to sync through.
Don’t you think it is about time IOS and Google come to some arrangement to make searching and purchasing books a little easier for their users?

The app simply refused to work. It would not permit login, despite working happily on a Mac. This, unreliable, cannot be trusted. Use something else instead.

Gave up on iBooks!

After the fiasco that is trying to sync ePubs from the Mac version of iBooks to the iOS version (short version iTunes will only see a few of the books) I decided to try this. Way better...the way Apple software used to be...simple and it works. Looks good too!

Worst book app I own

Not intuitive, getting a selection of samples is hard enough, but on finishing a sample, there appears to be no way of buying the title.
How it got to 4.6 is beyond comprehension.

Books

Very good app to read has most my fav books, and can read them wherever I am. There's an option to change to 3 different background colours to your preference as well as the wording size. You can highlight, bookmark and easily find chapters of the book etc. The library is easy to use and shows recommendations as well as free samples of books.

An essential app.

The app works well. I find it best when someone recommends a book and I can dip into a sample before deciding if it's something I want. Works well as a shopping list too when you're in the book store and forget what you wanted.
