Spent £5. The game works the first time you play it. After that, it doesn’t allow me to load a saved game. So, when restarting it, the game either cannot load my own profile (where saved games are) or, worse, it simply does not even start. A scandal to charge for something that doesn’t work. Want my money back please!

Like many others I’m getting an ‘invalid profile selection’ error when trying to load the game, so therefore can’t resume from my previous play through. The only option is to delete the profile and start from the first level every single time you play.
It’s a shame as it’s a great game, but with no option to save progress, I can’t recommend. Gutted that I spent £5 on it.

Totally great game. I love the artwork and cleverness in the puzzles and you can see the care and attention that's gone into this game. I also love the fact that you pay once and there are no in-game purchases that I feel have ruined many previously enjoyable games.

A bit of a slog to play through. So many levels are monotonous and repetitive involving getting yourself into a position to finish the level rather than actually ‘solving’ a puzzle. This in turn means there’s little reward for completion and even less motivation to continue. There is not a fiver’s worth of fun here.

Without a doubt, this is an absolute classic of our time.
Had it on the Wii, loved it. Got it on my PC, still loved it. Bought a Mac, loved it. Here it is on the iPad & still love it.
Now it's 64-bit, the game will remain in the ranks. Great news.
Only 2 issues:
- My progress has been lost. I had OCD on the first 3 chapters & all
- Seems to crash out a few times before loading up. Gets there in the end

With so much junk on the AppStore, it's refreshing to play a very decent game, with great graphics, sound fx, and I find it quite relaxing and fulfilling when completing the levels. A lesson for other app owners this is the benchmark you should be aiming for, not a quick buck through shabby games. Holy bejesus... Just wow. Wow. Oh my god, wow. This is one of the most divine, beautiful and well thought out games I have ever played (I'm not kidding!). They could have just left it as a good puzzler, but they injected so much charm and character into every level of the game, and every feature is so cool and well thought out... This is the best game evarrrr! I played this game on my iPad 2 (its not retina, but that doesn't matter), and I was absorbed into every level, trying to solve the cool conundrums I was tasked with. I know it may have been released quite a while ago, but this game deserves to be placed in a hall of fame... Or something. AMAZING!!!

This is by far the best iPad game I have played. Attractive, witty and compulsive. Working thtrough the levels for the first time is a challenge - working through them again at OCD level gives an extra degree of complexity. Even then, there is still the challenge of improving on your time, improving on your score, or competing against others to build an intricate tower of goo.

I bought World of Goo on PC the month it was originally released after playing the demo for about 10 seconds, and since then have got it for the iPhone, iPad and iMac... If I could get it on my toaster, fridge or car windscreen, or implanted into my eyeballs, I surely would.
It's still the best physics-based puzzler, with such awesome charm and style... and quite possibly the greatest game soundtrack ever.
The only problem I have with it is that I wish they would enable some kind of cloud saving shenanigans, so I can sync my progress across all my devices instead of having to hack it using iExplorer... Oh, and I wish they would bring it out on toasters.

The game is simply awesome. Well worth the money and much better than most games being released for the current generation of consoles.

I'm only on the 2nd chapter, but already it's clear that this game is brilliant! The music is lovably quirky as is the world of goo itself, which is also beautifully rendered in retina display, truly a joy to view! The puzzles are great fun and diverse. A story is subtly hinted at as you make your way through the game and I am finding myself quite intrigued by it.
Minor problem as has been said by others: your finger can sometimes be In the way of the action (so you can't always see whether the goo you are holding is close enough to connect to another goo) on iphone4, but really this is a minor niggle, and has to be the case for the game to play as it does, which is brilliantly! I Highly recommend it!

Completely different game to anything you see before. Love the storline and how they make it out to be so serious and life-changing; adds humour to the game. Excellent graphics. Game kept me amused for ages. I also like how if your stuck, you don't have to wait there and get bored of the game cos your stuck, there is a skip option.
Well worth downloaded. Maybe the price is a bit on the higher side but hey, awesome game!

I was looking for a decent puzzle style game after I played Cut the Rope, which I love, but nothing else seemed to be anywhere near as good or a similar style, this is BANG ON, weird little things and noises and loads of levels, complicated enough to not do in 5 seconds but not so hard you get fed up of it and walk off, great game, little on the expensive site compared with some of the other games but glad I bought it :-)

I bought the desktop version a couple years ago, and hands down one of the top ten best games of all time on Mac, great and simple gameplay, great music, great storyline, very poetic.
I was looking forward to play it again on my iPhone, and the result looks very good, but I have 2 major gripes:
- the world and story line doesn't work on the small screen, whereas I thought it was one of its best asset on big screen
- since the game is all about building structures, your finger (and hand) is endlessly in the way of what you are trying to do. Some levels require precision and I found it extremely difficult to peer at the screen from underneath my finger holding a gooball.
So much so I've now given up on it but did go back to play the desktop version again!
I would advise against buying this for iPhone, although the problems are probably far lesser on iPad.

Just one problem, I downloaded it for the iPad and in I've got to Chapter 3, but when I try and load the level 'Product Launcher' it keeps crashing and closing the game. Perhaps the single best iPad game currently available. I played (and completed) this game on Mac back when it first came out, and I loved it back then, so when I got this iPad version a couple of years down the line, I was skeptical as to whether or not I'd play it all that much. But then I realised:
This game was made for a touch screen. Or rather, multitouch; the ability to use multiple finger has been brilliant. But simply the ability to use your fingers at all is remarkable, it makes an already great game twice as good. TWICE. It makes me think that when this game was made, perhaps 2D BOY knew the iPad was coming.

Needs 'mooz' function to be added, to be playable

Interesting game concept.
However, I found it quite annoying that I'm not able to 'mooz' (i.e.zoom out) using a finger-pinch touch control to see the entire game area. This makes for a lot or tortuous swiping in order to try and understand the configuration of each level 'arena'.
Angry birds does include this 'zoom out' functionality—one of the reasons that is such a playable game.
After about level 4, the difficulty in understanding exactly what the challenge is due to the entire game area not being easily visible, makes the game, for me, unplayable (for an iPad game).
Hopefully the developer will remedy this usability oversight. Then my rating will increase.

At the heart of The World of Goo is a very simple pick-up and play puzzle game, one that anyone can grasp and enjoy, but this is not what makes this game special. Everything about The World of Goo draws you in, first with its smooth and eye catching graphics, then the atmosphere and a sound track that is second to none, followed but the quirky plot line. But once your past all this you will absolutely stay for the puzzles and game play, all of which has been well thought through and will challenge you.
Then, once you become obsessed, and you will, you will never look at structures and buildings the same way again.

Quite simply STUNNING... The visual, game mechanics, playability and overall fun factor in this game are quite literally second to none on iPad! If you own and iPad then beg, save or steal if you have to in order to get this game.

I have been a big fan of world of goo since it's indie release and as soon as I heard it would be released for iPad I knew it would be an instant purchase and it was.. This is the most I have paid for an app I can say it is well worth the money, it has been a struggle to get my iPad back from anyone I have let play it.

I have been waiting for this game on iPad since I read the specs for iPad :)
This is one of the best puzzle games ever made and to now have it on my iPad is a dream come true. I just hope someone is taking note somewhere as games like Xcom and Syndicate are just perfect for this platform. Old school gamers like me love them old games and you would make a lot of money, everyone wins! :)
If you have an iPad you need to have this game, it reallt shows off what the iPad can do and makes you wonder how we ever did without a touch screen before :)

This is the first time i am writing an review and undoubtedly this is game is by for the best i have ever played. The first level of the game is not so impressive but when you keep going further level, it makes additive and more interesting to solve. i carried my ipad to my workplace and everyone gathered around to see the gameplay.
Amazing game worth every penny u spend.
