Avoid - loyalty scheme does not work

Woeful customer service have been unable to resolve issue with my club Vue ‘perks’ that’s been going on for weeks now.
Would advise using alternative cinema chain if you can.

Absolutely useless app

UPDATE 20/01/26: it just gets worse, now if you are lucky enough to be able to log in and book tickets, it doesn’t allow you to add them to Apple Wallet anymore. Tried through every browser and via email confirmation – nothing works. I can add other items to my Wallet with no issues so it’s just Vue. Please, Vue, can you just make something that works properly?
Can’t ever log in, get the same “Houston we have a problem” error message every time despite being able to log in fine on the website. I can see multiple other reviewers with this issue so clearly it’s a widespread problem, yet the developers of this app are busy doing nothing rather than fixing the issue affecting would-be paying customers. Not a great way to run a business really is it. I’m off to Odeon instead where I can actually buy tickets on my phone as one expects to be able to do in 2026.

Apple Wallet

The recent update is causing issues with downloading Vue tickets to my Apple Wallet. Is it now working via the app or via the email confirmation.

Crashes

Constantly crashes, an error message appears repeatedly throughout the booking process each time you use it. Takes ages to book tickets through the app. So annoying.

Make it available on other stores as well

Why is this only available in the UK App Store? Please don’t assume that everyone has a UK App Store account, even though we are living in the UK. Apple makes it so difficult to change the country associated to your apple account, so a lot of people don’t have a UK App Store! I had to create one just to get these apps that assume everyone has a UK App Store account. Be more inclusive

I’m not Telugu or Hindi

A very simple upgrade to this app would be able to filter through all the films coming soon to just English I don’t want to scroll through Opera performances, Telugu and Hindi films just to find out what’s coming out and going to be available to watch at Vue.

Doesn’t work

Tried on multiple accounts, and does not work. Used the same log in fine online, so definitely an issue with the app. Bit disappointing as I book with Vue a lot but the app doesn’t work and you cannot redeem the stamps online. Did try and raise the issue, but the live chat gets you nowhere and no email to contact.

‘Log in for faster payment’? What a joke.

I can only assume that Vue are desperate to get my details for marketing purposes. Because the rigmarole I had to go through to just buy some cine tickets (working out which email I used before, password resets) was ridiculous!
Vue, take a note from apps that actually want customers and include an option to ‘continue as guest’.
You may have your preferred terms of service, but maybe you should remember that customers do too.

Fix your app and website

There will always be a 50/50 chance you can actually book a film through the app without running into error codes and crashes.
Website is no better and makes a meal out of redeeming vouchers. The cinemas themselves are my personal favourite, always clean and comfy seats. Their booking process is garbage tbough

Difficulty booking with CEA card

Had huge problems trying to book using my CEA card, called their helpline but when I spoke with someone by the name of Armien for over 20 mins he wasn’t able to assist me and when I asked to speak with a manager I was told to email! He then told me to go to the venue to book,I tried telling him that the seats I want will probably be gone but he wasn’t interested and kept saying he couldn’t assist! After several attempts I did finally manage to book online!! Vue you really need to review your online booking process for people using a CEA card and or pre paid vouchers! Booking should be straightforward not stressful!! Especially when you are an individual with disabilities and or neurodirvgent

Really poor app

Can’t understand why this app is rated so highly. In my experience it is one of the poorest apps available and has obviously just been released for users to find the bugs instead of being tested properly. Select the movie I want, the seats I want, apply discount codes I have. So far so good, correct seats displayed, correct discounts applied. Go to checkout and discounts removed and seats changed. Hasn’t happened just the once, this is consistent behaviour. Leaves the impression that the developers couldn’t be bothered to do their jobs properly.

Inconsistent performance, but great since the last update of Club Vue

This app isn’t very consistent. There were quite a few times when the app just didn’t load any films from different days or “coming soon” at all. Website is broken too. But since the last update with Vue Club, the app seems to work as intended, I can sign up for reminders etc. it works absolutely fine, so as it stands - Great app.

Dirty VIP seating

Went to Vue Bury to the Xtreme max screen 1 watching Joker 2.
We got our food and walked in without anyone to check us in. The whole auditorium was in total darkness so we used or lights on mobile phones to see, doing this gave us a shock seeing how much food waste, wrappers etc were down the back and sides off the seats. We paid extra for the VIP seats J12 & 13 … not very ViP and had to find someone to put the lights on so we could see what we were eating.
Very disappointed with Vue Bury … they need to get a grip of standards.

Great app

My default for booking tickets is always now the app, the ability to have digital tickets stored in it makes things a lot easier. My biggest complaint however is that you cannot use two free ticket vouchers in one booking..we get a free voucher with our bank each month and save them up for trips to the cinema however this involves a juggling act between two phones or the app and the website to ensure we can sit together. Please change this to allow multiple to be used!

Absolute crap

The refund policies are rubbish, we bought tickets for the new deadpool & wolverine movie. When we arrived at vue they id’d my 20 year old daughter and my 15 year old. The 15 year old I understand but they refused to let us in because they wouldn’t take an oyster card?? After, we asked for a refund and they said we can only get a refund online. I tried to reach out to customer service and they said we can’t get a refund because you can only refund 3 hours ahead. What the hell??? We booked 3 hours ahead and their telling us we can only get refund 3 hours prior to the movie. Vue used to be good, what happened.

Poor app, must try harder!

This app tells you what is on, how much the tickets are and where you could sit in the cinema but stops short of actually selling you them. I don’t get it.......
I have an account which I guess has some very secure facility built in where it will just change your password without letting you know. You then have to reset the password using a link (nothing new there) however it was quicker for me to drive to my local cinema and purchase the tickets before the the link came through! Frustrating and no facility for giving feedback about this. Vue needs to catch up with modern times if they want to remain in business!

Ongoing problems

They have done some thing but the app is now unusable after working more or less for the last few years I can’t make any bookings it say password needs changing but when I do that it does not send me the promised email I cleared the cache etc etc reloaded the app ETC ETC The last booking I made on the web did not send an email with the booking At the cinema there was a person on the door asking for our seat numbers with no evidence of payment I tried the chat line which was a waste of time I ll try the CEO

Works well if it works

The app or the website wasn’t allowing booking. I know they don’t allow booking well ahead, but this was within a few days, which shows up as available for booking. So I tried to contact the support. I was greeted by a pretty dump bot (this will put all AI bots to shame!) with very limited choices to choose from which gave me incoherent instructions! Eventually I gave up. 2 days later it started working and I could book. The error was ‘cannot receive information on session seats and tickets. Please check and try again later’!

Poor app they refuse to fix

It’s okay for finding times, but every time I have tried to book tickets through this app, Vue takes my payment, sits on the ‘processing’ screen for god knows how long, then says there has been an error. So my money is gone, but I have no tickets. But what’s worse is that while the booking wasn’t successful, the same seats I chose for the booking are then greyed out for about an hour before they’re released again. This seems to be an issue with the website also but the app is the worst for it. I have flagged this up so many times and they refuse to fix it. I’m unsure if this is due to the use of a CEA card, but if it is, that makes the issue ten times worse because now its malfunctioning AND ableist.

The app is simple awful

Trying to locate which movie is showing in Vue Xtreme is impossible
From the showing at this location menu, you scroll down all times then select a ticket choice, before you are told which screen the film will be shown on. The repeat all times the movie is showing, then move onto the next film 🤦🏻‍♂️ if you try from the recommended page the. Times you still have to pick a ticket type see the screen it’s too be shown on but this time when you press back page it returns to the recommended page so you have even more buttons to press.

is so difficult to find I now regret getting Vue tickets with the product I purchased

Ongoing Technical Problems

After having the app for over a year there are ongoing problems including constant account sign-out (so having to sign in every booking), payment failure using a Monzo virtual Mastercard (have attempted to add / use it multiple times on different dates, no problems anywhere else with this card, fails in the app and on the website when attempting payment, having to use Apple Pay to pay with the same account), favourite cinema list coming up wrong even though correct in account preferences, imported film-specific art background colour of e-tickets often obscures vital screen and seat information (so having to squint at it in the dark while climbing stairs), cancelled bookings still appearing in ticket history, and most annoying of all, e-tickets disappear from lock-screen wallet when ‘suggest on lock-screen’ is turned off (so you have to turn it off, or put up with the ticket being suggested constantly from the moment you book it, which could be weeks before, and then you have to go into the OS and open Wallet from there to show it, or remember to turn it back on before you go out). The basics of this app work well and it has many useful features but these technical problems are not really acceptable and there has been plenty of time now to iron them out…please Improve!

What’s with the new update?

I’ve used the app regularly (probably twice a month for years now) because I live right next door to a cinema. The new update is confusing me. I had no issues using the previous version, but for some reason it asks me to select a type of seat now? I can’t pick the cheapest option, but now it makes me pay for a regular seat before getting to a VIP seat, AKA if I wanted to sit with my family I’d have to pick two regular seats and pay more money. I get that due to inflation you have to raise prices but this new design is confusing and it’s going to be expensive.

Gift cards and deals

I love going to the cinema and watching all my favourite films on the big screen, however I think you should make a yearly deal we can buy so you can use it each time you go cinema until the date is up for what you paid.
The app could use some work as it took me 7 times with an ERROR each time I tried to book a single film. Overall I love the cinema and vue prices are way better than every other cinema.

Totally broken

I rarely write reviews but for such a huge company to have such a broken experience on iOS is shocking!
I’ve tried and failed to book tickets on here many times. Today I tried to book tickets for Oppenheimer for two people. When I selected two saver seats it pops up with a message saying “Not so fast. Please select at least one ticket”. Then it won’t let you off that page so you’re stuck there until you close the app and reopen it and then the same happens again.
This is just totally unacceptable from a company with the money that Vue have to put such little effort into their user experience.

Unusable

I have a free evening so thought I’d take myself to the cinema. Open the app it needs to update. Tap the update button and it brings me here. From here it just says “open”, tap open and the app opens, crashes and closes. So I delete the app, come back here. Got the little cloud download so tap that. App downloads, open it and we’re back to step one where it wants to update again. Repeat x 2, still not functioning. Netflix it is then…
EDIT - 12 hours later and it now seems to be working. Bit late though.

Absolutely awful app

I have never known a worst app than this in my whole life. Every time I have to change the day/time of the film it says Houston we have a problem and I could pull my hair out 😫. Then when I try to chat to someone on the app I never have any luck and got more chance of chatting with the pope. Then I have to ring them up to make sure I get reimbursed and get all my money back so it’s a right palaver each time. Cinemas supposed to be an enjoyable experience not stressful like this!

Decent App

I’ve read a few disparaging comments about this app and website, however I’ve only used it twice now and have found it to be very straightforward and quite simple to use. I’m not very tech savvy and so If I can do it anyone can I’d imagine. Don’t be put off by the other comments and just give it a go, it save a lot of queuing time especially when running late

Frustrating! Use website instead - or visit a different cinema (Odeon or Cineworld)

May 2023. Up to date version of the app and iOS. App loads quickly, easy to select my local Vue and chose from selection of films. All good so far. Try to select 4 tickets for chosen film on the ‘Who's going’ screen only to be told ‘Not so fast - you need to select a ticket’. Well, I’ve just selected 4 tickets! Try to go to previous screen - once again, ‘Not so fast - you need to select a ticket’. Considering Vue now charge 90p per ticket to book online the app just doesn’t work. Thought about using the Vue website and decided that I’d visit my local Odeon instead. Odeon app downloaded and booking made with no issues whatsoever. Poor show Vue. You’ve lost a regular customer.

Vouchers NEVER work on Vue app

Been using Vue for years and decided to install the app, what a mistake.. the app is unbookable when using vouchers, I literally tried over 30 times and there was always an issue with the seats, the discount didn’t apply after selecting a new seat or something happened on the background. I have an account using Apple ID but it is useless because the website doesn’t have Apple ID login. This forces me to use the website (since the app doesn’t work) and continue as guest (as there is no way to login). Vue has been going downhill in the last few years, it’s almost like they don’t care anymore…

Overcharged due to faulty app

I’m a big fan of the vue app, it’s really well laid out and easy to use to search for, track and store your bookings.
The problem for me is paying for tickets; when I tried to purchase two tickets for a viewing, I input my method of payment multiple times, but it always buffered before the payment could be completed and never said that the payment had gone through, so I booked it through the website instead.
Then by the time I checked my emails and realised I had been charged for double the amount of tickets, the screening was already 3 hours away and I couldn't refund the extra tickets.
Overall great app, but it lets you down where it matters most.

Refund and customer service Frustrations

After trying the link to cancel a ticket 24 hours prior to screening I finally managed to speak to a customer assistant who sounded like they were in a way far off country that really didn’t care, gave booking reference he replied my system is slow I need to put u on hold, finally got back to me only to put me on hold then comes back to ask me to ring again tomorrow.
Finally found after multiple attempts film showed but no refund, Customer service s complete joke !!!!

Refund policy

Very sad to know that VUE only give you a 3hr window to refund tickets prior to the start time, other companies give you an automatic refund if you don’t show up, when your working with children it’s not always convenient to cancel a booking within the timescale VUE allow, it’s 4pm & the child I’m caring for doesn’t feel well & doesn’t want to go anymore, the movie starts at 5pm, I have had to call VUE’s automated service which took 8mins before I was able to speak to anyone & was advised that due to the time I’m calling they can only offer a rebooking & not a refund, which contradicts their own 3hr policy. The system at Odeon is far more customer friendly

Worst thing since the plague

This app is genuinely abysmal. Much like the view website, it’s completely and utterly useless and it’s impossible to make a booking. Impressively, I have never ran in to the same issue twice- it seems every time I try to book seats using the app there is a new problem. Using this app has drained me of all joy. This app is proof that god does not exist. Trying to book seats using this grotesque abuse of coding is genuinely the worst thing I have ever done- worse than taking my childhood cat to get put down at the age of 11. I would rather eat hot lava with a garnish of razor blades than ever have to use this app again. It would probably be easier to book tickets to the cinema via a blind carrier pigeon with no wings than by using this app. I wouldn’t be surprised if this app is a punishment for humanity’s evil. Can’t easily change ticket/seat type

In the app it defaults to super saver (I vaguely recall seeing the default can be changed in account settings but the point is it defaults to a certain seat type). You can’t seem to then change it during the purchase process. If you try and change ticket type you end up with double the amount of tickets (ie you can add tickets of a certain type but not remove your default ones). Every time I try to buy using the app I get frustrated and switch to the website which is much simpler and allows you to view “all seat types” and then allows you to select the seats based on the price/seat you want.
Even if I’m missing something, it’s not intuitive (unlike the website that is far easier to use).

Can't change seats or ticket options

Whoever I've wanted to buy tickets in the last few months I've just had to give up on the app and go online. When trying to get tickets directly on the app it's impossible to change the location of the seats.
First it only lets you pick from half the seats because it forces the "super saver" seats on you. Then if you go into the ticket options to change this it only lets you add other tickets on top of the "super saver" that it started off with (there is no option to remove this original ticket at all).
In short, don't bother with the app, just buy the tickets online and have them sent to your email.

Very frustrating!

The app crashed multiple times when it came to processing the payment, sometimes after the point of confirming through the bank etc. It kept coming up with an error, ‘page cannot be found’ and a pop-up saying to re-attempt or relaunch the app. I did both multiple times and it solved nothing! I have used the website to book multiple times and thought the app would be more efficient but it frustrates me to no end after 3 days in a row of attempting to book a movie. I tried updating, reinstalling the app after uninstalling and using wifi instead of mobile data and vice versa. This had potential to help speed the booking process and make for easier movie bookings however I had to give up and admit defeat and delete this app from my phone. And Good Riddance!

Problematic

This app used to be fine but now when asking for a refund of a single ticket from a group booking it’s unable to then problem compounded as phoning customer service just ends to with a dropped call and a text to do what I just attempted within the all! Escher would be pleased at this eternal loop!
To add, the booking process initially was easy and straightforward, anything else to do with tickets a nightmare - even has the ending of the film at 1 Jan at 12pm - this is written 17th June!

What’s going on?

Have they redesigned or overhauled the app since some of these were posted? Because I’m experiencing ZERO of the problems people are moaning about - and rightly so if what they claim was true.
But it doesn’t seem like those issues are still a problem as I have been using it regularly for the past couple of weeks & it’s what I expected it to be. I like it a lot tbh. The info is clear, it’s stable with no gangs or crashes & haven’t been kicked out to my homepage.
Also page loads are instant & is quick when navigating through its content.
A few 1-star reviews were actually putting me off downloading it as it must have had some pretty terrible design faults but that was a year ago & installed it to see if it deserved those comments. LOL and behold, as I mentioned, nope. Nothing. Had I tried it & I’m using it regularly as VUE is my closest cinema & seeing how a motorbike accident 5 yrs ago has left me disabled, it is by far the most accommodating cinema in my city.
Anyway, I might have missed bits of it but what I’ve used so far, it gets a good review from me - and a 4 star (4.5 if I’m honest)

Awful App that is just wrong!!

Simply awful app and over IT experience. Even their web version doesn’t work.
Kept saying I hadn’t booked tickets for me and my wife on separate systems. Then suddenly I had two sets of tickets appear in the app.
Calling support (which took several tries) it turned out the tickets and reference was not actually booked, even if showing in the application .
Then the manually booked the tickets, and I got an email with a new reference, but hilariously the old tickets that are invalid/wrong is all that still shows in the App. Probably worst App and system software engineering I have EVER seen. Also web app shows two sets of wrong tickets vs the one on App. Terrible system. Just find a different cinema!!

A really bad app (& site)

Like the Vue website, this app shows a tendency to focus on design instead of functionality. Can’t book tickets on app. Process breaks down at payment, with error message saying something in ‘background’ not working. Disabled VPN on phone (iPhone 11) as I thought it was the problem, with same result. Was able to purchase ticket on Vue website with same card and VPN on. Then despite Apple Wallet clearly showing as option on app, app says it dan’t save ticket to wallet with no explanation. There are bigger problems in the world and it’s not that serious in the grand scheme of things. I just hate the way big companies are so disrespectful and take customers for granted. Vue site & app need a simpler, not black(!) background design. This awful black background is not only unattractive, it makes it hard to read the screen and find things. Darkness in cinema is one thing but it does not work on devices. App & site need to be simpler to use and need to deliver what they promise.

Waste of time website

I have tried to book for tickets on this website for the last one hour and every time I try to get into the payment page it keeps crashing. I have tried the Google chrome, my Safari, and the vue application and none of them work and I have also lost the tickets I wanted. Waste of time do not buy online or do not go to this vue cinemas.

Awful

Was an absolute challenge to book tickets in the app. The website is worse, it takes you through the whole thing, sometimes the seats show up to select sometimes it’s a blank screen. On the website you choose 2 tickets and your seat then at payment it proudly displays that you’re paying for one ticket probably sat upside no where near where you’ve selected.
Good luck logging in with the app or the website, i try to login with Facebook as i have done before but get told that the app is a development version.
Honestly had been one of most frustrating booking experiences I’ve ever had.

Rubbish app/booking service

App continually fails to log payment, loosing your booking meaning I had to start from the beginning 6 times, missing out on the seats I wanted. Going directly through the website is no better as it’s ridiculously difficult to actually choose the seats you want. I won’t waste my time and just buy them at the cinema in future. Very poor.

Buggy but informative

It tells me times and prices of movies, which is handy for planning to go to the Cinema. Unfortunately when I go to book tickets on the app, something always goes wrong “behind the scenes”, if that issue were solved I’d easily rate this higher as it is laid out efficiently, and if booking tickets actually worked I can see the process being seamless. I’m not sure why it always fails, and it’s annoying because when I turn up the seats may be taken and I’ll have wasted my time. Fix it ASAP! Otherwise as I said fantastic app for times.

Fraudulent System System

Used the website for ease of booking. On trying to book tickets kept saying error. Didn’t matter if I tried or my wife tried from different devices. We downloaded the app instead. Said the tickets we wanted had been booked, as had most the cinema. Weird cos we were booking at 08:00 on a Sunday morning for a 10:10 showing. Anyway not wanting to let anyone down I was forced to buy the expensive VIP tickets. Guess what? The tickets we had wanted, and most of the cinema had became available again when I checked again afterwards as it had all seemed a little weird. The tickets I had bought were non-refundable. Cool, well this customer will be non returnable to Vue. Con me once, shame on you, con me twice shame on me.

Abysmal app and webpage VUE …

This will be the 3rd or 4th time I have had massive issues with VUE and it’s non functioning booking system.
Promotional codes are invalid. Call for assistance and advisor can’t book online because ‘systems down’. Things like type into the search bar the film you want and it’s not there, the whole interface is a disaster. It’s bad news when even your staff can’t book tickets over the phone. That’s after waiting on hold and having to speak to a computer that doesn’t recognise your voice request 4 times and having to call back each time because it then just goes silent. Really had enough of this 2hour shambles EVERY time I want to book tickets. I was advised to go down to the cinema to buy the tickets. Oh, so like we did in 1985!? Even then you could ring and buy them over the phone! Repeatedly unimpressed.

Half way thru

The most basics are OK’ish, like searching for movies and times, but what I find quite annoying is having to fill in again and again my personal contact details every time I want to buy tickets; the app should have my details as the default option.
Also my ‘rewards’ page never works, always getting that ‘Houston, we have a problem’ message.
Finally, if a movie is not longer being displayed the app should be able to clarify that when searching for it. For instance, The Last Duel is shown when searched for it but it doesn’t provide any information at all about when, where is available.

Gift card disadvantage

Recently a friend gave me a vue gift card with £40 credit. I thought this would be great to use & immediately downloaded the vue app to look for forthcoming films to book. I was disappointed to learn that vue don’t allow the option to redeem gift cards when booking online & the only option open to me was to attend in person to buy tickets on the day of a film. This is totally crazy & puts the person having received a gift at a disadvantage….what’s the point of the gift card if you can’t use it online (similar to iTunes).

The app should note when the films are selling out fast, or sold out completely rather that given an error message when trying to book tickets for those films, so that it’s clearer to understand why people can’t book tickets for that particular film
Also the app should allow users to use their Lloyds bank vouchers that people get to actually get their tickets rather than people going to the tills and actually queuing and maybe missing the film as it seems the staff members have to much to deal with on the tills itself and assisting other customers at once

Enjoying Vue? Yes and No

App crashed twice - it doesn’t seem to like payment from a Revolut Mastercard. If you have one, you’ll need another way of paying. Lose 1 star.
Also looking at the seating plan on the app, it doesn’t look socially distanced in any logical way. Call me paranoid, but I would rather not have someone sat directly behind me for 2 hours. I’ll see what the actual seating plan is when I get there. Lose 1 star.

Let down when most needed

So, the choosing of movie, times, seats, and payment all worked. Conveniently you have a page to show your tickets.
However.....
When downstairs, as in Vue Bromley, where there is no signal whatsoever, the app wants you to sign in just when you need to show your ticket. No signal, error message given, and no access to display ticket.

Inconsistent

Apparently I couldn’t be logged into my account to buy my tickets so I had to wait 10 minutes to buy the same seats on the website despite clicking “Abandon” in the app. I then realised the app seems to throw up an error when attempting to log in but when I click the back button it shows me as logged in.
I am also surprised that I can’t see previously booked or, more importantly, currently booked tickets within the app. It would be nice to be able to add these to Apple Wallet even if customers had ordered them on the website instead.
Overall, I would expect better from an app in 2019 and from such a large cinema chain.

It’s ok, but could have more functionality

1. If I go to the mobile website that looks almost like the app, I get all my upcoming as well as past tickets. I’m hoping that this is coming in the next release to this app.
2. Vue in Poland has 360 degrees pictures of the screens, not just a diagram of seats. You can call it a gimmick, but it is nice if you have never been to the particular screen before.
3. It would be nice to be able to sort “coming soon” movies both alphabetically and by release date. It would also be great to be able to filter to those that allow booking already.
4. That isn’t really app’s fault, but the tickets added to the wallet don’t create a wallet reminder and don’t show up on the locked screen when the time comes for the movie. All airline tickets do and it is helpful when you want use it instead of paper ticket.
On the plus side, booking now works.

Terrible

Whole experience was painstakingly terrible. Tried to log in with my account and told I needed to change password. Redirected to website and asked to confirm email so that a pw reset email could be sent to me. Completed that several times and no email ever sent. Tried to do on website as a guest and after selecting seats tried to proceed to payment but alas screen never changed. Eventually reregistered using my work email but my old session on either the app or website was holding the seats I wanted so had to settle for other seats that I didn’t really want. Total joke. Really shouldn’t be that hard to understand the human element to booking tickets. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Why do Apple not allow zero ratings?

This is a perfect example of an App that needs to be withdrawn and whoever sanctioned this version needs to lie down until their sanity returns (assuming they had some in the first place of course). It's terribly slow and far too hard to understand and an insult to the Apple 'ease of use' philosophy of its operating systems. If you are thinking of loading this app then I suggest you don't waste your time.
Since writing the above a new release has appeared and whilst you can select seats you cannot buy them. Some comedian thinks a message “Houston we have a problem” is helpful. Well the VUE helpline don’t give a jot when called and sending an email does not work either.
Perhaps on reflection the message is helpful. This App belongs in outer space as it has no useful purpose on this planet .
Yet another update (Feb 2019) and no way to make a payment - Question to VUE “Why do you pretend something is what it is NOT?
Here we are again (May 2019) with yet another update which true to previous versions insists that “Houston still has a problem” when trying to buy a ticket to a VUE showing. Thankfully this Is not the only cinema group in the UK.

Can’t function

So I downloaded this app to pre order tickets to the Aladdin showing.
First fail was at the login. It took me no less than 10 attempts to get the app to recognise my email address.
When I FINALLY got logged in, it let me pay for the transaction via PayPal and then sent me an error message saying my order hadn’t been processed and I wouldn’t be charged. But then within minutes my paypal notified me that I had a made a payment to Vie Cinema. I will be looking at this transaction closely because if I am in fact charged for the tickets I will be very annoyed.

Online app fails

Over a few years, this app fails at the crucial moment when, you’ve chosen the correct seat, and then, when you click to move on from this point, it crashes! When you go back in to book the same seat, it’s greyed out as unavailable. (It’s your booking attempt for two seconds ago) But, you have to choose another seat because the app doesn’t recognise that it crashed which isn’t the seat you actually prefer.
This happens through multiple Vue app reboots/ revamps and updates of iPhones (which are backed up, none of if the usual BS excuses from IT please!). Please investigate your online customer journey as it’s consistently failed me over the years.

Confusing to redeem online

Bought e codes but really frustrating to understand how to redeem the tickets. You enter the number of people in your party and on redeeming the codes it doesn’t reduce the payment down to zero. Had to figure out that something called money success has some numbers coming up and then you have to reduce the number of adults and kids down to zero. Why can’t it be more straightforward?

Terrible App

Even with the overhaul and I can now actually pay for seats without that stupid “Houston we have a problem” message popping up the app is still completely rubbish.
Just tried to book 6 tickets with 3 Meerkat movie codes which took me a little while to suss our how to do. It’s unnecessarily complicated and should be user friendly for the idiots like me. Most other booking apps are.
Also gave me an option to save to my apple wallet and when I attempted that it crashed for no reason and then the option was gone. Surely the app could give you the option of saving tickets within the app itself.
Very poor app that looks like it’s been put together on the cheap. I wouldn’t bother with it.

Ok except that trying to pay never works

This app is in principle ok, everything seems to go ok until I try to actually submit the booking and pay. At that point is says something like ‘something went wrong, try again later’ I can go to the website and everything works fine. Not sure why anyone would want to use the app over the website other than to benefit from some personal pre-set values, but if it fails to allow you to book, its worthless. What a shame!
