I use IG for my ISA. The first thing is you don't show the code, just the name. Done names are same but code is different. Code is important.
I want to log in and see my holdings:- Code, Quantity, Cost, Current Value, Profit/Loss in £s as well as market currency, Percentage Profit/Loss. I want to sort by any column by clicking on the heading.
You should be able to hover or click on a holding to show the date, quantity, buy or sell and price of your trades. All you show is the total. I can't sell if I've bought once or twice. I then want to click on any stick to Buy more or Sell. But No, everything is jumbled up. Nothing is easy to do.
There should be big Buy Sell buttons to click. That's all for now. More to come when this is sorted out.

Misleading Promotion and No Customer Support
IG advertised a free share worth £40–£200 to new customers. I signed up, deposited £50 into my ISA, invested it, and held the investment for over a month exactly as required. The promotion clearly stated the free shares would be issued by 30 December. They were never provided.
I contacted customer support to ask why I hadn’t received what was promised. I was completely ignored. No reply, no explanation, no accountability.
This looks like a classic bait-and-switch tactic: attract new customers with incentives, then fail to deliver once the money is in the account. If something has gone wrong, the bare minimum would be a response. The silence speaks volumes.
If you’re considering IG because of their promotional offers, don’t. Based on my experience, they cannot be trusted to honour them or even acknowledge you once there’s a problem.

App is logging me out as soon as I go to another app and back again. Frustrating to use and not good when positions are open or watching market closely.

Still cant see the message when a market alert is available. If the icon shows a 1 then going to alerts shows nothing but gets rid of the number. Still, it’s only been 18 months since I first reported it - maybe I’m being impatient!
2024 I sometimes get an alert on the screen about a large rise or fall in a stock but it is not available in the app. The icon shows 1 alert but nothing is listed. If the message is long I only see the first part and can’t get to see the rest of it.

Been using ig for a couple of years now and within the last say year it’s been glitchy as hell. from not being able to see graphs to indicators and drawings disappearing. The stop line and limit line currently is not there when you’re looking to make a trade on graph. getting stopped out before it hits my stop and yesterday when I went in for a trade, the site bought me in for higher than the current price which put me out of my risk size and I had to close the trade instantly at a loss

Keep getting obsolete notifications
I am constantly receiving push notifications about positions I am no longer interested in. It seems that once you’ve bought shares in a company, even when you’ve sold them all, you will forever receive notifications about them having swung ±5%. My personal alerts are empty and there seems no way to stop these notifications.

Bad Updates and useless app. Now disappointing
I’ve used the IG app for a few years and it’s fairly clean and well laid out. Unfortunately 3 of the latest updates since they’ve decided to include crypto is making the app crash. It’s a bit like having a fantastically designed house but not being able to get through the door. There is an AI generated helper but that’s useless too. Out of the last 4 updates , 3 are making the app crash especially when you try to access demo mode or even when you have live trades. But critically it means you can’t have a trade if your not near a computer back up making the app useless

What happened?
I’ve been using IG for well over a year now and I love the platform, that said, I don’t know what’s been done behind the scenes recently but something is horribly wrong the last couple days (oct 2025)
I use the latest iPad, app updated and I have uncapped internet because my home is also my office so I have no difficulty internet wise; but I am unable to trade because the app is just so laggy.
For example, this afternoon (Tuesday 14th Oct) it was taking 2-3 seconds to show candle movement, it would often take an additional 1-2 seconds to let me select buy or sell, then an additional second to actually place the order, and even then once the order was placed there would often be another 1 second or so delay before movement was even shown, and that’s not the end of it.
Quite often this delay would mean I would have no idea where the price actually is, so the price could show e.g. 6600, (spread of 0.4) my stop would be at 6605, price would increase to 6602 then close. However, because of the delays, by the time everything loaded, the actual price had retracted before I even had an opportunity to do anything about it.
Further, the take profit function either doesn’t work, or the lag and delay on your platform was so bad it didn’t trigger. Let’s say I had a TP set at 6600, it would rise above that level, cover the spread, and on my screen hover there for a good 1-2 seconds before retracting and not closing.
These delays and Stop/TP issues are the reason why I am currently stopping trading until I can invest in a decently kitted out computer, I was more than happy with IG on the app because it allowed me to use my primary computer for work while trading on here. Clearly this is no longer that case, I immediately stopped trading today when all these lag issues cost me almost £100 in less than 5 minutes.
I really love IG and have never had these issues in the past, but this is my money, and no matter how much I love the platform, I’m not going to use an app that will result in nothing but loss due to a bad, unresponsive, laggy app. Hopefully this improves with time and I can come back and give IG the full 5 stars I think they deserve, because despite these issues I would still recommend IG as the company to trade with and will continue to do so.

If you are planning to use IG for trading US stocks or other are non GBP securities then just don’t, find a different broker cause the FX conversion rate is a rip off.
They get 2 stars because I like the platform and settings, visuals etc.

Share dealing experience
IG’s share dealing platform feels quite behind in terms of portfolio analytics. It’s 2025, yet we still have to rely on multiple external tools or websites just to track basic metrics, things like portfolio performance vs major indexes, detailed trade statistics, win rates, or even proper benchmarking over time. The trading interface itself is fine, but the lack of integrated data insights really limits the experience. For an established broker like IG, this area should be a top priority to modernize.

The app is very very buggy and their customer service is very poor. You are likely to get stuck in a verification death loop if you try and withdraw money. I gave up as there are much better providers in the UK that use modern open banking etc.

Please default to My Watchlist, not Popular Markets
Since a recent major update, the Watchlist tab now defaults to Popular Markets every time I open the app, instead of My Watchlist. This is frustrating — I created my watchlist so I can quickly monitor markets I care about. Having to manually switch tabs every time is an unnecessary step and worsens the user experience.
I’m sharing this here because when I previously flagged the login issue for existing users, you actually fixed it — and it made a huge difference to how smooth the app felt. I really appreciated that.
I’m hoping you’ll take this feedback on board too, or at least explain why this change was made. But ideally, give users the option to default to My Watchlist, not generic market data. It would really improve the app again.

A bit hit and miss
I had the IG trading app. On many occasions the app wouldn't work in that I was unable to log on. On other occasions, orders were not completed. I also trade via Hargreaves. On one occasion I had two holdings in the same company. I sold my holding with Hargreaves instantly as they offer an instant trading status. In other words, they give you a quote and give you 15 seconds to agree or cancel. Ig accepts the order but it is some time before you are aware of the situation. The advantage of IG is that they are an international trader so any market is available not so with Hargreaves. At the moment the UG app on my phone is not working so I have to log in via Google .

Full of bugs
I’ve been having the odd glitch lately on my iPhone 11. However yesterday I bought an iPhone 16pro hoping it was due to the age of my phone. Sadly it’s a lot worse on this new handset. 3 main issues.
1) When I open the App, I’m presented with the welcome screen I’d get on first installation. Set up a new account or login as existing user. I now have to go past this screen every time I open the App.
2) Charts are taking literally 10 seconds to load.
3) I’m constantly losing all my indicators within charts and saving my layout doesn’t work as I cannot see the saved layout if I try to reload one.
They’re simply not being stored.
Finally the App regularly crashes and closes. I’ve obviously tried deleting, rebooting and reinstalling. This is becoming unusable.

Ton of issues, avoid!
Their Live Chat and overall support is complete joke. Good luck getting any support and help if you ever need.
You can start a session and wait until session times out, then some times you get some message that someone maybe responded, but you can't continue.. starting again, leads to same outcome, of never ending cycle of not getting any help.
They don't respond neither on their Live Chat or WhatsApp.
History does not work correctly, shows strange values, prices are not correct and no one has fixed it for quite some time.
App is quite outdated, upon login I been seeing same question for over a year, even though after you answer, you would expect it go not be asked again. It's finally fixed, but gives some insight.

Unbelievable! performance still doesn't work.
For a purpose as critical as finance, this is a ridiculously fragile application. Sometimes functions do not work giving unhelpful error messages. The same function then works flawlessly through the web interface (or sometimes by restarting the application). The app also logs you out at the most inopportune moments – sometimes just a few minutes after you log in. Which is unfortunate because it's a great interface - when it works.

Don't trust them if you are having trouble withdrawing your money they will still try to take it, I have been trying to contact customer service but I am getting messages that have nothing to do with my problem, I will never trade with them again. I keep asking for a verification email to verify my bank account and they keep sending me in circles. They also force people to close your trading positions

It’s like they want us to suffer - seriously, fix it!
I just installed this amazing app on my iPhone 4S running iOS5. When you launch the app, you are asked to select your country from a list of countries, and each country has an icon to select it except France, whose name appears but not the icon. So it is impossible to skip this configuration step and hence use this amazing app on my iPhone 4S while it works perfectly on my iPad2 running iOS5 as well :(:(

The inconsistent service disconnects for no reason
Excellent application. Unfortunately, IG has been getting worse lately.- As the market moves little, the spreads on some instruments increase significantly, making them unusable for seizing flash opportunities. Sometimes they just close them.- Fixed Leverage, Covered Collateral and Turbo24 certificates will no longer be available. In short, not all the most convenient tools will be there."

Going down hill big time
I could never fault IG during my 12 years as a client. However I called customer services yesterday and couldn’t believe I was speaking to an IG employee. Some serious training is badly needed. The app is not as good as it once was and other share apps have caught up and improved considerably. This app is being left behind. Even HL is far superior. They are trying to focus on sharedealing now but avoid. Look at trading 212 or AJB - far superior to this crew. The staff have a high opinion of themselves and are no longer interested in the paying customer. Avoid

Avoid IG Index at all cost.
IG Index provides a very basic platform with extremely poor chart support and mediocre execution of trades whereby orders regularly get filled at prices unfavourable to the customer. I have reported to the FCA that IG Index is trading against their clients illegally abusing the information they hold on clients to create long/short squeezes as they have information about margin calls on customer accounts. IG Index customer service is extremely poor with staff being arrogant and with no knowledge of financial markets. Please follow my court cases against the company as I seek to get their licence to operate in the UK revoked by their regulator.

Getting worse
I’ve been a customer for several years, lately things have been going from bad to worse, non of the moving averages worked MA EMA or the centre of Bollinger band, contacted them first time asked for screenshot said they would look into it after a couple of weeks hearing nothing contacted again, same again, contacted third time, said they would escalate the issue that must of been about 4 weeks ago, still nothing, contacted them again saying still waiting for a reply, absolutely nothing back, changed away from the app and logged in directly now the 5 min chart just stops moving, price is still moving but not the chart, you constantly checking to see if it’s displaying the correct price and this is for the FTSE 100 not something obscure, beginning to think they are trying to break you concentration, also, it would keep forgetting your settings like net off force open, something else you had to keep watching. Just moved some of my money out to open account with another broker, if it goes well will close the account. Very disappointing after several years recommending them to other people

Missing alerts
This latest so called Update has sadly lost a key feature. Why hide one of the most important features behind other menus? The Alert button has gone. The ‘explore’ button that has replaced it is COMPLETELY POINTLESS and serves to advertise things IG want to rather than support quick simple trading. Great shame. I’ve been a user for years and find this very irritating to have to go through menus to view alerts.

Buggy
The app is quite good, but unreliable. For instance when you switch apps on the iPad, and then go back to IG, most of the time it has signed you out. Which is just tedious and against Apple app guidelines. Secondly, if you are using a keyboard, Command+Tab app switching short-cut doesn’t work (again in contravention of Apple guidelines). Lastly it’s lacking features of the main desktop app, such as showing the notional value of bets.
With a little work, this app could be so much better.

Session expired issue
I love the app but everyday I have to uninstall and re install it as each time I log in the next day it automatically kicks me out stating session expired after numerous attempts. As soon as I delete and re install I don’t have any problems until the next day. Definitely something that needs to be looked at as it is very frustrating.

Same problems for years
I love the app but can’t you just make it easier to switch between real and demo account, it logs you out every time when you switch accounts, from the main hub there should be an option to choose which one to log into, it’s very frustrating. Also the new dealing interface is very confusing, the old one a few months ago was much better!

Buggy
New to the IG platform and although it is a very well designed interface and easy to use, disappointed on the number of bugs in the App. When trying to edit the EMAs the keyboard doesn’t work and I have to use the “+” and “-“ to adjust. The Apply button disappears and I have to restart the App. At the moment I am trying to save a layout but again the pop up keyboard isn’t working and cannot even ‘Cancel’ as the App has stopped functioning. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Best for CFD trading
Love the app for live trading and price updates. Honestly if you are serious about trading and not trying to cut corners about costs, this has been the best experience. I have been using IG for 3 years now and believe they are the best for index trading. 3 years in and I can at least say I’m making a profit, but I see this more as a hobby. Equity CFDs and forex are decent. Options trading needs to be improved though because there are not as many shares available

Changes made without permissions
Firstly the app removed as force open was being changed so for several weeks recently I had to check the settings before applying. Unknown at the time I could have contacted and requested closed bets to be reinstated. Only found this on community however the support was unavailable. I also emailed and no response.
Also the charts will change settings and so do columns and no this is not user error. Disappointed with the app stability.

Very Inconsistent Data
I have been using IG for a few years now and frequently sent support “screenshots” of wrong data (spikes) appearing in my charts. Normally they ask me to delete the IOS app and reinstall. It beggars belief how the software can be so poorly written, untested, the lack of any data integrity checks and how frequent these wrong figures appear. This is a LIVE trading platform and thus the data needs to be 100% correct. It has also filled to designs their software to integrate with password manages like 1Password. Could do enter!

My preferred spread betting broker
When comparing SP brokers, what I like about IG is the format in which they let you open positions. As a spread better, it’s important for me to know how much I can expect to win or lose on each point. With brokers such as Capital and CMC, you open your position based on the amount of lots you want to purchase. With IG, you open your position based on the cost per point. This is just a lot easier for me.
The charting is really good also. I wish they had a rewind feature like TradingView does, but you can’t have everything I suppose.

Bad ethics
IG was good initially but slowly when issues arise the true colours of IG and business ethics got revealed
Their ill practices involves
1- Removing assets from CFD without any reason with No notice to 4 weeks notice which is insane and blocking News positions opening anytime
2- If complaints department is contacted their support is like that they don’t even have accurate mathematical skills to calculate - cheap labour force at work or outsourcing at place
3- Your assets can be sold anytime happened with me and then suddenly got told off without any reason as consolidation took place - poor management
4- Lack of professionalism- they will suspend your account first and then ask for any new document which they may require rather ask documentation first and then see what to do next - harassing attitude
5- Complaints team has intentionally been remote and no telephone number to communicate effectively with and only frustrating bouncing only email to and from with very hard for them to understand your simple matter - poor policy
6- Assets which are available with other brokerage in CFD accounts here you wouldn’t get it in CFD always
Good things about IG
1- Vast assets to offer
2- Spreads are not insane
3- Customer service people are polite although they wouldn’t be able to help you due to poor management and policy making team but they are very polite
4- Easy to use and understand

Much better before
The latest update has not improved the performance of the app at all. It was so much better before. The charts were clearer before, performance was faster. It feels clunky and unresponsive now, very slow. The layout is less clear. In fact I haven’t discovered a single improvement yet, I’ve been using it for a week or two now. The previous app I used for 3 or 4 years and found it excellent.
If it ain’t broke, why fix it? You’ve messed about with something that worked fine before, and only made it worse.

Not the app it used to be….
Over the years IG have lost its edge in the market for online trading platforms. To use a topical example of a number of small cap stocks the %change when the market opens stills reflects the previous trading day. It often takes hours before this is updated. This suggests to me a complacency or a bug in the algorithm both of which reflects poor attention to detail. This is why I have scored 3-star.

Stay away from this App
Don’t waste your time with this app … Even if a inside job was true … this is just unbelievable. I have used it for almost 2 years and only lost money and more money. Put it this way as soon I changed platform i started winning . With this been said ! Don’t waist your the time it’s a scam . . Profit take never works but stop loses do and they are quick to take your money . You will find that when you enter suddenly it start moving the opposite… 99 times out of a 100 . Also try and trade on both demo and live . You suddenly see that your money will disappear… than come back after a few minutes. They are purely just taken your money. Fake trading platform. I gave it a 5 star so people can read it .. don’t be a victim

Position suddenly closed without informing me
I had a £20,000 position open on an ETF tracking Russian Companies. I found on last Friday that it was suddenly closed without informing me. It was in negative at the moment (-£13,000) but I had no intention of closing it. So, it appears I have lost all my money there. It is shocking as I don’t know why it was closed..!!

iPhone app not reliable
The app is a little unreliable on the iPhone - several phone restarts after the white screen. I regularly need to either restart the iPhone or delete and reinstall the app. When it works it works well but I now have downloaded another providers app to set alerts and check on prices. All is loaded on 2 different iPhone and has the same problem. The mobile app on the iPad works really well and I have never had a problem with that.

Beware of the quarterly charges if you don’t trade
This is an okay app but the graphs on yahoo finance are MUCH better and simpler to look at stock price over long periods of time. Beware of the quarterly charges if you don’t trade … it kinda forces you to spend and spend … I guess this is how they make money on top of the money they make on transactions anyway. This is just a toy for people who are not worried about having their cash trapped into the stock market … Don’t expect to get rich overnight and beware of trendy IPO as they are hyped by the website and generally massively nose dive after the initial float … Overall I give online trading in general a big “ be careful half a star “ …

Dreadful customer service
I have been using IG for a little while, and unfortunately, while the app and service in general is very good I can’t tell as much with the customer service. I have had an issue with withdrawal and they have been positively unhelpful, talking with different agents net you do different answers and results contradicting each other and sometimes even contradicting regulations. The last one I spoken with what particularly rude and unhelpful, constantly interrupting me and trying to talk over me. I am still yet to get answers as they avoid the questions and répète the same non sense like a bot. Extremely disappointed. So much that I am now considering finding another broker with decent customer service, that can actually answer your questions. Never under estimate a good customer service, it’s worth paying extra for it.

Great app but have room for improvements
The app is great. Here are my feature requests:
1) When you receive an alert it could lead you to the instrument similarly like Yahoo Finance for example. Currently if you click notification ftse100 up 5% it just opens the app.
2) better watch lists - please include small daily chart snippets like has IOS stocks app or Webull or Yahoo.
3) similarly daily chart could be on the main page of an instrument (where is menu for chart, alerts, margin requirements…)
4) even if not all stocks you offer can be traded in all sessions, it could have live price feed from premarket (Revolut has it)
5) log charts
If all is implemented we won’t need many apps but just IG!

So simple to use.
I have used other trading accounts in the past and there is always one problem or another. With IG, I find things are so simple. Adding cash to my account or withdrawing could not be easier. There is never a problem. Also if there is anything that I don’t understand I am never too long on the phone and there is always someone to explain things. Just a great company and a brilliant trading platform.

Will cut your positions without having your consent
IG will close out your position automatically without letting you know, so just leave this trading platform and change to another one.
I am using spread bet of ig. My position was closed out by ig, they just told me that they have just decided to remove that position from the spread bet when I asked them for help. But I have not got any information, detailed email or anything that pop up to me when I opened ig. Even though, they do not provide any solutions to their customers holding that exposure. That’s not fair to their customers.
I am in the complaint procedure now, it looks very slowly to get an answer. I will submit the case to the regulator if no solution is provided. I sincerely tell you not to trade with them anymore to prevent hurt, and I can promise all above statement is true.
To add some updates, there is no solution at all. The compliance guy just said I disagreed what you have said. We do things right such as that craps. The platform cannot cease any existing stocks while your customers are holding. This is like to terminate ones contract without costing anything.

Good trading app
I’ve only recently opened an account with IG after many years of not trading. So I can’t compare the app to others such as City Index but from what I’ve seen so far it is pretty user friendly. I’ve worked out how to put in trailing stops, overall it suits me fine 👍 One small criticism is that I have found it difficult to speak to somebody at IG to get help. They’re obviously very busy...

Do not download.
Downloaded this to try as a potential new platform. Before opening any account I always spend a few days on there ‘demo’ account to test to see how it works. After one week of use it’s getting deleted. Terrible app, you will try to close a trade and for some reason it’ll tell you it’s unavailable. The charts do not update, you will cash out in a positive trade and some how end up short.
Will never use again, absolutely poor service. I have tried all the usual, deleting the app, reinstalling, checked its running the latest software update. It will not make a difference, you will loose money from inaccurate timing regardless. I started my trading days on Plus500 and everybody knows now to stay away from that platform, I would rather use P500 than IG anyday.

Happy
Really happy with IG, love the After Hours and pre market. Do not listen to the recent reviews as they do not understand how volatility works and that the restrictions probably did more good than bad, look at gme and amc now, probably IG saved them some money.
The only bad ish thing are the fees for every trade, they should give us am option to pay a subscription monthly and we get to trade how much we want. But on the other side they’re really fast at filling orders so I get why they have fees.

I am asking you guys to think Towice before you download the IG app, the company is stealing your money without you knowing. Very poor customer service. The IG company never give you notice or inform their clients about some changes to the companies you normally buy shares. The IG put you onto (Right Issue) which you have no knowledge of it, the company freezes your money, you can’t withdraw from IG, once the put onto Right Issue. You will loose all your money, when you ask, why you open open Right issue position for me, they saying that you could close your position one ahead of that date, which the IG never give you notice about it.
It’s very unwise to open IG account. Please, please don’t waste your money and your time on IG’s app.

Do not use IG, or any other trading platform that removes your ability to trade freely. At the close of market on Friday 29th January 2021, I exited my position on two favourable stocks as security against unprecedented market conditions. The following day, IG informed me they would not allow me to buy shares in those particular stocks the following week. It is my decision what sum of money I wish to invest into what stocks at what time. That decision has been taken from me, as are the potentially life changing gains I could have made. What will I see as compensation? Absolutely nothing.
The game is rigged. You’re not supposed to win. This will go down in history as the most blatant act of market manipulation on record, but that’s fine, so long as the hedge funds who shorted billions on the collapse of two struggling businesses (destroying any chance of their recovery in the process) don’t get hurt.
Don’t be like me. Don’t put your trust in IG.

Constantly breaking down
The platform is good in general but unfortunately every time there is high volatility the platform crashes and you cannot trade and usually high volatility is when most money is made one would question why is that the case

Unexpected error
I have been trading mainly on mi isa acc but I’m looking into forex sometimes as well so I tried few platforms with cfd in offer and I went across multiple techniques to stop you from taking your profit. I tried IG this time and can honestly say is the worst out of all of them. I was customer for not even a week and I couldn’t login twice already getting “unexpected error” message both on mobile as well as on web platform on my pc. Same happened several times when I tried to open certain stocks. Only think I like are charts that’s why 1 star otherwise I’d give 0 if I could. If you’re into investing better open ISA account in your bank.

Some aspects not intuitive - click to sort
In watchlists it seems obvious that you’d want to click the headings to sort by a column, for example the chg% to see which ones have fallen or higher on the day. Default behaviour however is simply to change to another column - not intuitive at all... Would also be helpful to have this sort feature like in the Positions/ Trades screen (sort by p&l for instance). Thank you if you can suggest to tech team!!

Good but needs to improve
I’ve used many different apps and this one is quite decent. I’ve experienced some glitches where it freezes when the market is volatile and doesn’t always allow you to close your trades to bank the winnings.
Improvements I would recommend:
1. Display account information on the chart view so you know how much you have available to trade.
2. Replace the ‘funds’ figure for the equity figure on the account information banner at the top.
3. Make it possible to navigate between different trades without leaving the chart screen.
4. The chart and account info should be a permanent fixture whether your browsing for available trades or checking on your trades.
This would make the app perfect in my opinion.

If I could put in zero stars, I would
This is definitely zero stars. First, their commission fees are super expensive and you have to pay them whenever you buy or sell a stock. Second, the platform isn’t very user-friendly. You need to open the chart which takes ages, and then you had to go back to another screen to check the details. They need a lesson or two from Trading212. Third, there is no option to choose a range where you can sell or buy. What if it’s a volatile stock and you need to sell quick? I’m getting more loses using this platform. I extremely don’t recommend this app.

IG is the best!
I have been trading with IG since Dec 2011 when I first began trading FX and I can honestly say they have really good charts and a very user friendly platform. Better than most fx/cfds/spread betting companies out there. They also have the widest range of markets to trade as well, which is great. You can literally trade anything under the sun! I wouldn’t change from IG and happily give them a 5 star rating. Just wish they could give me a free T shirt for this good review! 😂

Flakey when volatile
It’s pretty it’s easy to use and has all the markets BUT when the markets get busy it crashes ..... and that’s when you need it most. It’s cost me a good number of real £ notes and terrible frustration. Of course when it crashes the phone lines become useless also . They will sometimes offer you retrospective action on open positions but not on positions you tried to open . Even if you have proof. For this reason I’ve looked at other platforms

Nice looking app hides terrible service
Possibly the most painful account opening process I’ve ever experienced, especially considering it’s for a spread betting account. You have to jump through hoops for days on end to satisfy all sorts of piecemeal items that junior call center staff decide might be needed as additional info.
IG sell themselves as being super high tech with instant account opening and activation etc etc...but the reality is you are dealing with an Orwellian nightmare. The tail wags the dog on this administrative beast.
Rather open up a professional international broker account with all the bells and whistles. Much quicker and easier and professional support.

Really good trading app
This app is really good, the charting software is excellent and has a good range of indicators and drawing tools. The news section is outstanding I use it every day. Trades are placed quickly and without slippage, the spread is clear on every asset and there is a fantastic range of assets. The only thing I would like is to be able to see previous trades on the charts, I could do this when I was with FXCM and I really liked the feature

Great platform, too much commission
If you’re a new investor or any type of investor you should always be wary on the commissions you pay, I enjoyed using IG and was reliable. However, with the amount of commission they take its only worth doing bigger trades as it’ll just eat away at your capital.
If In the future they lower commission fees or even get rid of them all together then come back and use this platform. If not I’d definitely consider moving to a commission free platform that is from the UK.

Fantastic Platform
Can’t really fault IG. Has a huge availability of stocks to trade, the interface is very clean and customisable to your own liking. Spread betting platform is very intuitive and has demo accounts you can practice on. This coupled with IG Academy, makes the this app and the ability to learn how to trade stocks exceptionally easy (Making money from it is a different story)
