So I love the way the app is layed out, the box by box highlight when reading is really effective. My only issue is when I’m downloading if my phone locks the download stops and I have to start all over again

Crashes and failed log ons
This app is the worst app ever! Crashes 9 times out of 10. Avoid if you have other options.

Bad app, bad prices
App is buggy. Some of my comics can’t even be opened without the app crashing anymore. Can’t work out how to delete them and redownload them.
Comics are almost always more expensive than their physical versions which makes very little sense. Amazon/ComiXology is usually significantly cheaper.

Hangs on upgrade screen
I did love this app. Using it with the iPhone 8plus, it just hangs. Says “please BEAR with us”, but doesn't do anything more. I’ve got so many comics on here... can’t read any of them.

I just want to read the comics I've bought!
Having downloaded and signed into this app, I've tried tapping on the comic name - no joy. The header says I can access my comics from my bookshelf - there is nothing labelled a bookshelf anywhere in sight. I go to the FAQ which basically says 'we have a new bookshelf feature! Tap the middle of the screen to find buttons' which does nothing. Look, can you at least make an FAQ which is a true Idiot's Guide to this app because right I feel like I've spent money on nothing.

Doesn't remember your place
Update 2016 December still doesn't remember which comic your reading so have to go trawling through comics to find last read Better than it used to be. I wish it would stay on the last comic read. I have to keep searching through my list.

Fast, fluid and generally pretty nice to use. It's such a huge improvement over the old app it's almost unbelievable!

Really needs fixing.
So apparently the only comics now available are Alien and Hellboy? This app always worked before but now I can't even read the ones I've already purchased, nor can I search for anything new.

It's ok...but
It does what it says on the tin, it's a good app for reading and searching for comics you all ready know about.
Downside, it really has no discovery or try this type of section, at least not one I've found myself using, also a lot of the compilation volumes are no where to be found and sold by individual issue instead, so can cost more..
But it's still good overall, just not spectacular

Was good, now useless
I can read the comics I have already purchased. But I can not buy any new comics as the prices won't load.
I got a sample of a comic I wanted, got to the end, clicked to buy the full version and was told "unable to access updated price". App then crashed.
Please fix this. I want to read the next comic and you want my money. So what's the problem?

Doesn't work
The prices for comics won't load so I can't even buy them. And the only thing that will load is the main page, I can't check out individual series or see what's on sale. As it stands, this app is absolutely useless to me. I only got it because there are certain Dark Horse comics I would like to read and they're not on Comixology (the far superior digital platform). If you want to actually make money from this app, I suggest you fix these problems immediately.

I really wanna buy a comic but can't because the prices will not load or if I previewed a comic and then chose to buy a comic, then it will say it can't find an up to date price... I really wanna buy a comic on this app so please fix.

Needs improvement.
All digital comics now work on the comixology software now and yet they all differ. Marvel seem to have it right but this dark horse one stands out as the worst because of simple lack of attention. There are some great dark horse comics but this platform does not make the best use of them. No promotions and it does not default to the shopping page. Other platforms promote their comics better like image, dc, vertigo and marvel. Where are the graphic novel volumes!???!

I'm not going to lie- this app frustrated me a lot at first. There were times when everything worked well. Then there was the time when it completely crashed. Now, it seems to be working again. My catalogue has reappeared and prices of new comics are showing again. Mostly, I like this app now.

Awful App
I love Dark Horse Comics. I was really looking forward to building up a catalogue on my iPad. BUT... If by some chance you manage to navigate the God awful menus and search engine and find what you're looking for you won't be able to download it. I have tried 15 different books and they are all "under revision"...
So bad I almost considered downloading from the kindle app instead.....

Looking at the store there are no comics to buy except the ones I've already bought. No idea why it still doesn't show any new comics but until it does I can't buy any new comics from DH. I guess I'll be buying my comics from iBooks...

iOS 8.0 has major problem NOT the app
Going from iOS 7 to iOS 8.0 was a disaster for the app. The iOS 8.1 and further updates works. The new version of the app just released is quicker and responds better to the iPad screen.

Hey Dark Horse, how about letting me read the comics I've purchased on your website? Can't sync, can't restore, can't download anything currently. This is a pretty serious breach of consumer rights. I would suggest sorting it out quickly.

This app simply no longer works after the update, no store access or access to my comic collection. I have also deleted and reinstalled the app. TOTAL INCOMPETANCE.

Buggy and worse than the last update, still no HD quality
Latest update for the Dark Horse app came out a few days ago and I must say that anyone vaguely considering the upgrade should avoid it. I've got frozen panes, frequent crashes when downloading or navigating, slowdowns and also buttons that refuse to work. I am using my first generation iPad mini.
What also irks me is that, with the almost universal adoption of HD quality tablets, Dark Horse still seemingly hasn't taken the time to rescan its content to match higher resolution screens. Older content particularly suffers. If you try to pinch zoom to read something in tiny font, only to find it blurs to illegibility is not a great help (try reading the opening story in the Grendel omnibus for example). If I read on a larger screen the resolution issues become very frustrating.
Keep trying dark horse and fix the damn bugs so I can keep reading your wonderful comics!

Aw! Ye gads! Another dreadful update from Dark Horse! Store and Device buttons don't work, sometimes can't get into books at all, portrait mode is completely fubar. It makes you wonder if they do any testing at all.

Breaks and then stuck with nothing
I've bought 5 - 4 of which worked - 1 got stuck as "pending" and then by trying to resolve I have now lost the books I had and can't retrieve them from the cloud - just keeps spinning. I really don't give a flying **** who's responsibility it is, whether developer or Apple, I just want it fixed so that I haven't wasted my money.

Unusable on Air 2
I had this app working fine on iPad 4. It just isn't working on iPad Air 2. It's downloaded past purchases at least; what it won't do is allow me to make purchases - I can't even get past the featured page, I get pop-ups telling me the links are broken. Sort it out, please! ASAP!

Great work hidden by bad menus
The comics are phenomenal, but organising them by series in the corner of the screen makes it harder than it should be to browse them. Unparalleled content hamstrung by shonky design again - the interface in v7 is new, Dark horse, but not necessarily better. Give me a better way of finding your great content than a-z

Awesome content! But...
Terrific comics. DH tends to get a bit overlooked as a publisher these days but they have some of the best comics around and they're all on here. So, 5 stars because content us king but the app itself is buggy, prone to crashing and never more than serviceable. Makes me appreciate how much work went into Comixology!

Quite disappointed...
I love Dark Horse and getting the app was like Christmas for me as I got to buy and read my favourite titles as well as discover new ones I had never heard of. It was heaven for me until I updated the app. Now I cannot view new releases on the app and the browse and series tabs only shows the comics I own and not the rest of Dark Horses' catelog.

Have to say the app is great but it is a little annoying that it's not compatible with comixology so I can store all my DC, Marvel, Dynamite and Dark Horse comics in one place!
